Astral projection and dreams

When we dream, we have out-of-body experiences on the astral plane. Conscious astral projection involves getting into a meditative state, moving your astral body out of your physical body, and traveling around on the astral plane.

Astral Body

Between you as spirit and your physical body there is an intermediate body known as your astral body. It is lighter and more changeable than your physical body. But the astral body has more shape and density than pure spirit. Your astral body may often be recognizable as your human form, but it can also change appearance, shift shapes, and do fun things like moving through walls.

Astral Plane

The world between the physical and spiritual world is known as the astral plane, or the astral. While it is commonly referred to in the singular as the astral plane, there are actually many different levels of the astral, or astral planes. We move through these astral planes in our dreams.

Astral Travel

The astral world is much more fluid than the physical world. Astral travel is not bound by the limitations of time and space. You can visit different dimensions and travel to past or future experiences on the astral. For many people, it is also easier to connect with deceased loved ones on the astral.

Astral planes vary from the ordinary, to the phantasmagorical, to the divine. Defying easy definition, the astral planes intersect with both physical reality and the symbolic realms of the dream world. Astral travel can take you to dimensions beyond your imagination.

Astral Dream Experiences

Your astral body plays a key role in creating new developments which have not yet manifested in your physical life. The astral is like a giant laboratory in which you experiment with your life and your creations.

The astral can also offer great insight, as it allows you to come at things from a different angle. Astral dream experiences allow you to see things from a different perspective than your normal awareness. As a result, astral dreams can be especially useful for working on situations that–for one reason or another–may be difficult to face directly in daily life.

Astral Projection Meditation

Astral projection typically involves getting into a meditative state so you can consciously move your astral body out of your physical body. With practice, astral projection allows you to develop greater awareness of out-of-body and astral experiences.

These are simple directions for an astral meditation that is suitable for beginners…

ASTRAL PROJECTION EXERCISE:

Preparing the Space, Preparing Yourself…

Find a quiet, comfortable place for yourself–where you will not be disturbed. Create a relaxing atmosphere. You may want to light a candle, burn incense, or play some quiet, soothing music in the background. Begin to relax in general. Take some deep breaths and perhaps do some light stretching. Sit upright in a comfortable position with an open posture.

Part I: Aura Meditation

Get yourself centered and grounded by doing the Aura Meditation in How to Meditate. You will also need to repeat this after your astral projection meditation.

Notice how you experience yourself before doing the Astral Projection exercise. Then close your eyes and focus your attention inward…

Part II: Astral Projection Meditation

Be aware of your body. Notice how you experience the density of your physical body. Then be aware of your aura about an arm’s length all the way around your body. Notice how you experience the lightness of your spiritual energy. Then start to open up your awareness of an intermediate body between your physical body and you as spirit. Notice how you experience the vibration of your astral body.

Allow yourself to shift your awareness to your astral body. Be present in your astral body.

Float your astral body up to a corner of the room. Be present in your astral body in that upper corner of the room. From that upper corner of the room, be aware of your physical body down below you, sitting in the chair. Notice how you experience your physical body down below you.

Then float your astral body up through the ceiling and be on the roof of your building. Be aware of your astral body standing on the roof of your building. On the roof, move around a bit in your astral body. Notice how you experience being in your astral body. Be aware of the world around from the roof of your building. Notice how you experience the world from your astral body.

Then bring your astral body down through the roof and be in an upper corner of the room again. From the upper corner of the room, notice your physical body sitting in the chair below you.

Float your astral body above your physical body. Notice what it’s like to be above your physical body. Then gently lower yourself down into your physical body. First be aware of being in your astral body in your physical body. Then allow yourself to shift your awareness to your physical body itself. Allow yourself to come back fully into your physical body.

Part III: Repeat the Aura Meditation

Get yourself centered and grounded by doing the Aura Meditation in How to Meditate. Draw all of your energy back from above you. Feel your feet on the floor. Feel your legs, torso, arms, neck and head. Be aware of your aura an arm’s length around your body. Notice what it’s like to be grounded back in your body.

When you feel ready, take a few deep breaths, gently open your eyes, and slowly begin to move. Notice how you experience yourself after doing the Astral Projection exercise. Give yourself some time to integrate this experience and enjoy being relaxed before moving on to other activities. (Especially after you first start practicing this meditation–you may want to journal your experience, have a cup of tea, or go for a quiet walk.)

If you practice astral meditation on a regular basis, it will become easier to do and your out-of-body experiences will gradually become clearer. - Oakwulf

Blessings to all of you!

Lots of love,

What is Lucid Dreaming?

Lucid dreaming is when you are in a dream but fully aware that you are in a dream, leading to you often being able to control the outcomes or certain aspects of the dream. You are able to live your fantasies and also are more likely to remember your dreams come morning.

With work Lucid dreaming can be improved into astral projection via sleep or dream walking where you can exit your dreams to enter the dreams of others or walk about the “dream plane”. Skilled lucid dreamers also often use their dreams for divination and problem solving due to how vivid they are and how it is easier to remember them.

Herbs for Lucid Dreaming: African Dream Bean, Blue Lotus, *Datura, *Mexican Dream Herb, Lavender, Mugwort, Rose Buds, Valerian Root, Wild Asparagus

Crystals for Lucid Dreaming: Albite, Angel Phantom Quartz, Danburite, Herkimer Diamond, Lazulite, Moonstone, Rhodonite, Scolecite

Foods for Lucid Dreaming: Almonds, Bananas, Cherries, Chicken, Kidney Beans, Lamb, Oats/Oatmeal, Pumpkin/Pumpkin Seeds, Rice, Soybeans and Tofu, Sunflower Seeds, Tomatoes, Turkey

Essential Oils for Lucid Dreaming: Lavender, Mugwort, Patchouli, Rose

Other things to achieve Lucid Dreaming:

  • Keep a dream journal and write in it regularly.
  • Interpret the meanings behind your dreams after recording them
  • Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and smoking cigarettes before bed
  • Keep a regular sleeping schedule
  • Sleep in complete darkness if possible
  • Meditate before going to sleep
  • Openly state before you go to bed “I will lucid dream tonight” and repeat this either out-loud or in your mind as you get ready for bed. When you lay in bed continue focused on that in your mind
  • Along with that before bed tell yourself, preferably in a mirror if it helps, that you will remember your dreams come morning
  • Do “reality checks” meaning in your dream check to see if you are dreaming. If you see mirrors, see if you can see the background behind you or if it is misty/blurry. If see a clock look at it, look away, then look back, often in dreams the time will change. This is the same for signs and street signs. You can also before going to bed mark up your hand with ink and in your dream look down and see if it is there still. If its not you know you’re dreaming. Look down at your feet, often in dreams they will seem oddly unfocused. If you see a bookshelf, see if any of the book titles are visible or repeat.

Okay, I know I am dreaming, now what do I do?

Well now you practice. It is rare to immediately be able to control your dreams completely. To gain full control you need to practice. Start small and take baby steps. Try hopping in place in your dream, see if you can make yourself hover for even just a second. Keep at it, try to float in place longer and longer with each jump. In time and with practice and patience you will be able to soar through your dreams one night and it’s easy from there. If you come across a locked door try opening it while saying out loud “this door is unlocked”. Keep at it, because hopefully you will be able to open it soon enough.

Start talking to the ‘characters’ in your dreams. Try to influence their behavior such as suggesting they do something. You can also approach a ‘stranger’ in your dream and see what happens if you state that you two are friends. If they start acting as if they know you and are indeed your friend, you know you have improved your control.

Take notes in your dream journal on these tests. Write down if they failed or succeeded and keep at it. With time you will be able to change things in your dreams with ease.

The Positives of Lucid Dreaming:

  • You can control your dreams! That is just awesome, you can live out things you can’t do in real life.
  • Prevent or stop nightmares, when you are lucid dreaming you can just tell whatever is causing you the nightmare to ‘fuck off’ and usually they will. Nightmares can be quickly changed into enjoyable dreams
  • From my personal experience and experiences of others, after a lucid dream you feel more awake and alive come morning, it’s almost energizing to wake up from
  • Its calming, I can relieve my stresses from the day and not worry about them in my dreams
  • You can attempt to solve your real life struggles in your dreams or making plans
  • Eventually you can work your way to Astral Travel and Dream Walking
  • Using your dreams for divination
  • Improve sleep, many people who lucid dream fall asleep faster and deeper than most people leading to them having improved sleep patterns and habits
  • For artists and story writers, dreams can really inspire you and help you test out your ideas
  • Deity communication, for those who do worship deities you can communicate or even interact with them in your dreams if you welcome them in.
  • Spirit and entity communication, just like deities lucid dreamers can interact with entities in their dreams by letting them in. Many lucid dreamers interact with their guides and guardians through dreams as well

Happy Dreaming everyone~

A very simple summary of sleep paralysis

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about this, so I tried to give a basic explanation as to what this is. Please keep in mind that this is what I learned during my research for a project. I am not a doctor and this is how I understood it. It’s also a summary, so there is more to this, of course. This is simply the basics. Should you find a mistake, I promise you that I did not do so on purpose and would therefore be thankful if you would politely correct me and not yell at me. I am open to listen and be educated!

There are several factors that can increase the chance of experiencing this and you can find them with a simple google search. I am not listing them here because I know from experience that being aware of some of them can make you worried and scared that this might happen, which can keep you up at night. So please go look for them yourself if you’re curious!

Also, I have heard that you can try to break the paralysis by wiggling your tongue. Personally, I’ve never managed to move ANYTHING at all in this state, but if you can, I suppose you can give it a shot!

If you’re suffering from a mental illness and/or a disorder that causes you sleep paralysis from time to time, I am not qualified to give you any advice on how to decrease the chance of this happening, and I don’t know how well following other steps like not lying on your back etc will help you with this.

I wish you all the Best!

✨💫🌙LUCID DREAMING TIPS BY A WITCH/PSYCHOLOGY STUDENT🌙💫✨

On becoming lucid:

💫keep a dream journal. This one is at least 80% of what’s going to get you to achieve lucid dreams. Record every dream you have when you wake up, and read over all your dreams at the end of each week. Find patterns, know your dreams inside out.

💫reality checks. Ask yourself throughout the day “am I dreaming?” Find something that taps you into reality, maybe one of your tattoos or a piece of jewelry you wear daily. Ask yourself if you’re dreaming, check if it’s there, then assess that you are awake. Eventually you will do this in your dreams, and you will become lucid.

💫meditation. This will increase your attention and focus and help you better tap into your subconscious. You will also achieve deeper sleep, which means better, longer R.E.M. Cycles.

💫wake yourself up. If you can’t remember your dreams, or you’ve been trying these tips for longer than a month with no success, you may need to interrupt your R.E.M. cycle. Set an alarm for the middle of the night or early in the morning. Just make sure you’ve been sleeping for at least 4 hrs before the alarm goes off. Record your dream when you wake up. It will be clearer in your mind because you will not have passed your R.E.M. cycle. Immediately go back to sleep. Try to visualize a scene as you fall back to sleep. Imagine yourself dreaming. You will be more likely to become lucid after a R.E.M. interruption.

Witchcraft for lucidity:

🌙mugwort(ingested through tea or used in spells)

🌙chamomile

🌙amethyst

🌙lavender

🌙rosemary

On staying lucid:

✨calm down. When you become lucid, your subconscious self will probably start freaking out a bit. Try your best to calm yourself. Breath. Say to yourself “I am safe. I am in control of this dream,” until your anxieties leave you.

✨spin. If you feel yourself waking up as soon as you become lucid(very common), try to spin your body around. Twirl in a circle or jump really high. Do some erratic movement and it will ground you in the dream.

Sweet dreams! 🌙💫✨

LUCID DREAMING: HOW TO

SO LUCID DREAMING!!

Some people asked because of my TONGUE IN CHEEK POST about it the other night, well!!! all it is, is being consciously aware that you’re dreaming. You can kinda train your brain to do it and it’s fukken awesome ok!  I learned from a bunch of books I got out from the library one summer back in high school and I have kept up all the habits since then until shit got weird but we don’t talk about that

sometimes you get to a point where you can control your dream and force yourself to dream about a certain thing . either way it’s really damn neat to just have conscious awareness while you’re asleep and if nothing else, it’s something fun to do that doesn’t cost anything.

I got into it a few years before Inception came out, if you can believe it. So when that movie came out talking about the same ideas my mind was  blown

First things first:

1) DREAM RECALL:

This is your ability to actually remember your dreams. Because imagine, even if you end up having a lucid dream,  what’s the point if you completely forget it as soon as you’re awake? Some people think they don’t dream anymore but it isn’t true, everyone dreams. Some people just don’t remember.

So Write down  all your dreams, anything that you can remember as soon as you wake up.

I just text it to myself first thing in the morning and usually they’re super disjointed and barely readable but it’s just enough to have me remember them again. even if you can only remember little snippets, the more you do this the better you can get at remembering.

2) DREAM CUES

Dream cues are these little things that make you realize you’re asleep because they differ between reality and your dreams. They’re kind of like triggers that will make you realize you’re dreaming. The idea is to check in on these cues even when you’re awake, so that when it becomes a habit in real life, it will become a habit when you’re asleep.

It’s also a good way to check if you’re actually awake because sometimes dreams are super realistic. I’ve had a lot of dreams where I woke up in my bed, then did the reality check only to figure out I was dreaming.

Different people have different ones but there’s some common ones:

-mirrors: In real life you look like yourself. in a dream you’ll look like a really distorted version of yourself or like a completely different person. I don’t recommend this one because what you see in the mirror might freak you out into just waking up lol

-counting your fingers and seeing more or less than the amount of fingers you have

-electronics that don’t work

-text that changes when you read it, look away and then read it again

-dim lights [i hate light dimmers for this reason eugh]

-loose teeth

My personal ones are the and fingers and the changing text! So in real life, I count my fingers, and read some text, look away and read it again to see if it changes.

If I have more than 5 fingers, I realize I’m asleep and that’s where the lucid part starts.

Personally for me, all of these have served as dream cues, but these two are the ones that i literally check on. Another big one for me is if my teeth are loose, it’s an automatic cue for knowing I’m asleep.

INDUCING A LUCID DREAM

So you made a habit out of checking in on your dream cues and writing down your dreams. Now how do you actually do this thing….

There are some REALLY SPECIFIC METHODS To inducing a lucid dream . Some people practice one method that brings you from wakefulness directly into a dream, with NO LOSS OF CONSCIOUSNESS. I find this a little rarer but it’s definitely happened to me

Others have the method where you fall asleep as usual, end up in a dream, and then your consciousness wakes up while you’re in the dream. This is more common I think.

my sleep science might be off but this is it as I’ve understood it.

so the general method is to go to bed super early. like 9pm. And set your alarm for Stupid O Clock. I am talking some ungodly hour that you will never be up, like 4:30.

Reason being: You will literally never go to sleep and immedeitly start dreaming. You have to have been asleep for a few hours, having gotten a few sleep cycles in. The longer you sleep, the deeper your sleep cycles run and the more restful sleep you’ll have as the night goes on. It’s only in the later sleep cycles that you start to dream.

This is the reason you’re groggy in the morning [you were just in the middle of your deepest sleep cycle] but not groggy at all if you wake up at like 12

So the goal is to wake up right before you’re gonna go into a deep sleep cycle.

Stay awake for a few minutes, go to the bathroom or something, read some stuff on lucid dreaming on your phone… You want to wake up your brain so that your mind is conscious and running even though you’re dead tired.

Now you can go back to sleep, and the conditions are pretty much met for having a lucid dream.

SO GENERALLY NOW, it’s really likely that you’re gonna have a regular dream.

But if you’ve been making a habit out of doing your dream cues/reality checks while you’re awake, at some point you’re gonna do it while you’re asleep.

stuff from the waking world carries over into dreamtown. it’s the same reason you’ll have super realistic dreams about your job or people you know.

IT’S ACTUALLY SUPER COOL When you do your dream-cues and you see different results from real life. Like I’ll count my fingers and realize there’s 6 of them and be like Ohhh shit! I’m asleep! Time to go wild.

Usually I just fly around like a motherfucker but it’s so cool to be your exact same self who is able to think about your family/friends/homework/life/memes except you’re flying

CONTROLLING THE DREAM

OK SO NOW THAT YOU’RE AWAKE while dreaming, you can  try controlling your dream. This is a bit harder to explain but in my opinion it’s as easy as focusing/dwelling on what you want to do..kind of like repeating a mantra mentally.

Like lets say you’re dreaming and you come across a house. As you’re walking towards it, tell yourself “Captain Kirk is in this house and we’re gonna have the time of our damn life.” TELL YOURSELF WITH CONVICTION! BELIEVE IT! CAPTAIN KIRK IS IN THE HOUSE! OVER AND OVER!

also try practising controlling on little things first. Like point to the sky and say “brighter” or “more purple” or “bluer” or think “I want it to be night time instead" and it SHOULD change.

STAYING IN THE DREAM

There’s 2 tricks I know of that will keep you in a dream for longer when you feel like you’re about to wake up and you don’t want to.

One is spinning: If you feel yourself waking up, try spinning around on the spot till you’re dizzy. Things will blur around you and then they will clear up and get super sharp! Especially spinning while crouching. I have no idea why this works, but it does and others have said the same thing.

The other is, when you feel like things are getting blurry, focus on ONE spot in the dream. I usually crouch and like, stare at the details and texture of the road really really close up. For some reason, pinpointing your focus on one little thing will refocus the dream.

finally,

READ UP!!

Honestly the more you read about lucid dreaming, the more likely you are to have one for yourself..Even by reading this you’re more likely to have one. It’s weird, but it works. When I would regularly read books on the topic they’d say the same thing and it was true. It’s kind of like, the fact that you’re aware that it can happen makes it likely to happen..

SO YEAH, before you go to sleep or when you wake up at 4 in the morning, google it, see what others have to say. Get your brain in gear for it. there’s lots of posts online that will probably talk about the same stuff that I have here but this is my legit personal experience with it and stuff over the years.

IN SHORT

  • DO YOUR DREAM CUES/REALITY CHECKS
  • WRITE DOWN YOUR DREAMS
  • SET YOUR ALARM FOR A REALLY DUMB TIME!!
  • HAPPY DREAMING

Psychic Gifts best suited for the Signs

Before I begin my list, I want everyone to know it is possible to practice and fine tune all of these abilities. Every person has the ability to open their third eye, aka decalcify the pineal gland, which then can help open up your 6th sense as long as you practice at it.

Aries - Clairvoyant: This type of psychic ability is best suited to Aries, who has to see it to believe it. Feeling things and communication isn’t normally your forte, but when you can physically see something, it is much easier for you to work with. Auror reading falls under this category, almost anything that you can see falls under this category.

Taurus - Psychometrist: Reading information contained in the energy of objects would best be suited to Taurus, who rules over the physical plane and material objects. Not to mention your affinity for material possessions and pretty objects makes you more inclined to be able to sense and read information contained inside of objects. These are the type of psychics that are brought into the evidence room

Gemini - Psychographer: This is the practice where you translate non-physical consciousness through “psychic writing”. This is where you tune out and just write on an unconscious level while tapping into otherworldly energies and just write what ever comes to your hand. And since Gemini rules the house of writing, this would be the more natural ability for you to develop.

Cancer - Clairsensitive: This ability is all about feeling. It is sometimes confused with intuition, which is slightly different on a few levels. Cancers are deeply sensitive and connected to their feelings, so it is only natural that you have the ability to feel surrounding energies and thing on a non-physical conscious plane.

Leo - Precognition: This is the ability to read all the possibilities of the future, and Leos have such a great imagination and desire for a positive future, that you often find yourself imagining what your own future would be like. And this ability can be translated to other people if you learn to use your imagination to sense out what possibilities someone has in their future. Though future readings are never easy and always have different possibilities, because nothing is ever set in stone and human beings have the gift of free will.

Virgo - Psychic Surgeon: There is no one better for this type of job than the ruler of health and service. When you see someone in pain, it is your instinct and natural desire to do anything you need to do to help them. And as a psychic surgeon you can operate intraphysically on non-physical trauma.

Libra - Telepath: This is the ability to read information mind to mind, and as a Libra with wonderful social grace that comes from your ability to connect with people and form partnerships, this seems like the best option for you.

Scorpio - Lucid Dreamer: This is the ability to consciously know that you are dreaming and to access the dream world, Dream Control is also another step into this world, and what better ability for Scorpio to master than the ability to control your dreams, since you get an odd satisfaction from having power and control.

Sagittarius - Astral Traveler: Sagittarius rules the house of Travel and exploration, and when it comes to astral projection no one is more fearless and eager than you are to leave your physical body and traverse all physical and nonphysical planes.

Capricorn - Retrocognition: The ability to look into past lives is a very sought after gift that many people seek readers out for to explain parts of their personality or fears that are unexplainable. And I think Capricorn would do well with this ability with an affinity for being sought after for advice and a connection to the past.

Aquarius - Psychophoner: This ability allows a nonphysical consciousness to speak through you, and I think this would go well with Aquarius who rules communication on a much larger scale than either Gemini or Libra. Aquarius rules over the tarot card “The Star” because she symbolizes the communication and transferring information from the heavens to the earth.

Pisces - Intuitive: This is an intimate and clear knowledge about a situation, and it is more based off of instinct and immediate reactions and feelings to something. It is the immediate and instinctive part that separates this from clairsensitive, and I think pisces works well with this ability because they are so sensitive and rule over the house of mystics and self undoing.
