I’m very emotional over this years Tony Awards. Great Comet was so inventive and stunning. I can’t believe out of 12
Nominations Great Comet received 2. Only 2. Dave Malloy deserved at least Best Score or Best Orchestrations. The Great Comet music expressed over six different genres of different types of music many different times signatures through all that music. I’m just baffled at the fact that it did not win best musical, best orchestrations, and best score. It pushed the boundaries of what musical theater can do and what it can be! The Great Comet inspired so many people this season that’s why it was nominated for 12 Tony Awards. I believe the American theater wing made the choice of choosing Dear Evan Hansen due to the fact of the type of publicity and money making of it with a big name like Ben Platt. Yes I’ve listened to DEH, but it’s Orchestrations aren’t outstanding. It is just a campy pop musical nowhere near Dave Malloy’s genius writing. I feel that with that show people felt it was a safe choice for the tony awards it didn’t break boundaries and I didn’t push boundaries so it was safe and it was a good choice for them to go with but on the other hand it wasn’t that creative it didn’t push boundaries and it hardly dived into the themes of suicide. That’s why I am so baffled by this and it kills me with a heavy heart to say that Great Comet didn’t win majority of their nominations. Every nomination that the great comet got they highly deserved the award in that category I understand with the big-name like Bette Midler Hello Dolly rose to fame and Bette Midler and Gavin Creel won. Gavin is a beautiful actor with a beautiful voice but I do feel that Lucas truly shined this year with his nominated performance. When best featured actor in a musical was announced I honestly did cry because I felt Lucas deserved it very much. On top of that Come From Away and Falsettos deserved more recognition for having all star casts and telling beautiful heart wrenching stories hell, I can’t get through Come From Away without getting goosebumps and tearing up. Overall The 2017 Tony awards were not the best and I think it’s definitely a step back in musical theater. Hamilton last year was a groundbreaking step forward colored actors nominated and won and represented this year I feel like We took a step back in the wrong direction.
Heyhey~! Just sharing pics of these merchs that I got quite a while back :]
It’s a huge bummer that I didn’t get Idol Nico, but heck I got all the others that I know of: MidCin’s Byron, Alyn, Louis; Destined to Love’s Keiki, Hijikata; Love, Lies, & A Heist’s Luca and Ewan; Ikemen Sengoku’s Ieyasu and Mr. One-Eyed Dragon (Masamune). …What is this?! I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at such luck lol. For the last guy, he’s pretty cute too: Ryo (from スイートルームの眠り姫).
Aside from those, I also got the chibi Nico Deca key holder! Lookit'im he’s so adorbs~~ />w<)/~<3 <3
All in all, I’m so glad and happy everything arrived safely :]
“It was more than just a comet because of what it brought to his life: direction, beauty, meaning. There are many who couldn’t understand, and sometimes he walked among them. But even in his darkest hours, he knew in his heart that someday it would return to him, and his world would be whole again…And his belief in God and love and art would be re-awakened in his heart. The boy saw the comet and suddenly his life had meaning.” ↳ (inspired by x & requested by anonymous)
Yo sí he ido, he estado con ella y la he acompañado a casa.
