• You will have heard this time and time again DRINK WATER. Just do it, it’s so worth it, for your skin for your hair, brain, body. Everything is made better by drinking some water.

• Herbal teas work magic. (Is it not just hot flavoured water). It doesn’t have to be green (although I do highly recommend it as it helps with weight loss and metabolism etc etc)

Here is some other green tea alternatives:

- Mint tea ~ it’s delicious and refreshing. It improves digestion, reduce pain, eliminate inflammation, relaxes the body and mind, can cure bad breath, aids in weight loss and boosts immune system

- White tea ~ contains the same types of antioxidants as green tea. It has many health promoting properties including boosting cardiovascular health, helping to lower cholesterol, reducing the risk of cancer and enhancing weight loss

• FRIUT IS FUCKING AMAZING OMG

If you have a sweet tooth stock up on fruit, I am slowly but surely giving up those sweet treats because I stocked up on so much fruit. It also helps down there like there is no tomorrow.

- Grapefruit - is one of the healthiest citrus fruit. Besides being a good source of vitamins and minerals, it is known for its ability to aid weight loss and reduce insulin resistance. It has also been proved to lower cholesterol and help prevent kidney stones. It may also be useful for weight loss.
I love it for breakfast it’s so freaking refreshing.

- Pineapple - is rich in vitamin C and manganese. Its bromelain content may fight inflammation and reduce the risk of cancer.

- Avocado - I know, I know. It’s ridiculously good for you as it a healthy fat and contains potassium both of which help that big loving heart of yours.

Snake Sauna: How to Solve Stuck Shed

Stuck shed can be a concern for any new ball python keeper. For those encountering stuck shed for the first time, it is common to hear others suggest soaking your ball python in warm water. When we take a look at ball python behavior, Ball pythons would not naturally sit in bodies of water, but instead find a burrow in the ground which maintains humidity. Furthermore, being placed in a body of water can be very stressful to the animal. Instead, it is better to make a Snake Sauna which raises the humidity level to remove stuck without placing your snake in a scary situation.

Aside from natural behavior, it should not be necessary to soak your ball python. Ball pythons require a constant humidity of at least 55%, using a digital hygrometer to measure. If the humidity is any lower it could risk dehydration of the snake. Dehydration, soaking in a water bowl, and stuck shed are signs of incorrect husbandry and should be addressed as soon as possible.

Supplies:
Home storage bin with locking lid, preferably without ventilation holes
Coco husk chips (or your favorite water holding substrate)
Water proof, digital thermometer
Warm water (90-95 degrees)
Large towel

Grab your home storage tub and make sure it’s clean. A tub without holes is preferable because it will be better to keep the humidity in. Ball pythons do not have a quick respiratory rate and locking lid bins are not air tight, so a suffocating snake will not be a concern.

Fill the bottom of the tub with 1-2 inches of coconut chip. The coco chip should be slightly moist before starting.

Next, grab some hot water. The water should be 90-95 degrees, be sure to measure it with your thermometer so it doesn’t get too hot!

Fill the coco husk approximately halfway with water and place the lid on the tub immediately.

Go get the snake, place it in the tub, and replace the lid.

Then throw a towel over the top. The towel will help to make the snake feel secure and hidden.

Leave the snake alone, in the box for 15-20 minutes. As the snake moves through the coco chips, aided by the humidity, it should rub off most, if not all, of the stuck shed.

After the time has passed, remove the towel. You can see how the warm water raised the humidity and fogged up the tub. That’s good news, it means your sauna is working!

Next you can check on the snake.

Most of the stuck shed should be rubbed off, however if there are still some stuck pieces you may want to add a little more hot water and try again for another 10 minutes.

InterdictedKai’s Guide To Writing Trans Men Having Sex

I wrote this up in response to another post but it really should have its own post here on my blog. The topic? Sex scenes involving trans guys, how to write them, and how not to write them.

There’s been a lot of trans male headcanons popping up in fandoms lately. And that’s awesome! As a trans guy myself, I love seeing trans headcanons by both cis and trans people! And there’s been a lot of fics & art involving trans dudes having sex popping up lately. And that’s awesome too! Hell yeah we can get down and do the do! Unfortunately… many of these headcanons, art pieces, & fics don’t portray trans guys, their bodies, and their sex lives accurately. And that’s… not so awesome. There’s some pretty icky stereotypes and commonalities going around. So I’m here to shed a little light on trans men and how we get down.

First, I’d like to start by saying this content is of a mature nature, please exercise reader discretion before deciding to read it and follow your local laws & restrictions regarding such content.

Second, I’d like to note that my ask box is always open to questions if anybody wants to fact-check their trans fic with an actual trans dude. I’m more than willing to help educate.

Now, on to the lesson!

InterdictedKai’s Guide To Writing Trans Men Having Sex:

  • SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Trans guys come in all sexual orientations.
    • If a trans man is having sex with a man, whether that man is cis or trans, that is gay sex. They’re both men. Having gay sex.
    • If a trans man is having sex with a woman, whether that woman is cis or trans, that is straight sex. It’s a man and a woman. That’s straight sex.
    • Trans guys can most often be found fucking: gay men, bi/pan men, straight women, & bi/pan women. In other words: People who are attracted to men.

  • TERMINOLOGY: My number one issue with people who aren’t trans guys (eg: cis, nb, etc) writing about trans guys having sex is the words they use. Topping the chart: CALL IT A DICK, NOT A CLIT. Seriously.
    • Up top: The most standard term for talking about a trans guy’s chest is ‘chest’. A lot of pre-op & no-op trans guys are really not okay with having the lumps on their chest called ‘breasts’. So if you’re writing about trans men getting some action on their torso, you’re better off talking about his chest and nipples than his breasts and nipples.
    • The pole: It’s a dick. It might be a small dick but almost universally every trans guy I’ve met calls it a dick or cock and either dislikes or is actively squicked by it being called a clit. I’ve had so many conversations with other trans guys where we salt about seeing cis people writing trans guys in fic & calling it a clit. Sure, there are exceptions, trans guys who use the word clit, but there’s also gay men who use the f-slur to describe themselves. That’s a personal use. It’s not the standard. It’s not the common term. It’s not okay if you’re someone who isn’t a trans dude writing about a trans dude having sex. It doesn’t matter if you’re cis, nb, or any other identity, call it a dick. It’s a dick. Call it a dick. It doesn’t matter if they’re pre-T, on T, or if they’ve had some sort of genital surgery. It’s a dick any which way. He is a man. He has a penis.
    • The hole: There is no standard term for what a trans guy is probably gonna call the hole he’s got in front. I know guys using: Cunt, vagina, pussy, front hole, front door, boy hole, bonus hole, and so on. Personally, I like cunt, it’s gritty and abrasive and feels the most ‘masculine’ to me personally. That said, whatever term you use, try to be respectful in using it and understand that not all trans guys want sex to involve that body part.

  • TO REPEAT: DO NOT CALL A TRANS DUDE’S DICK A CLIT.

  • COMING OUT: Coming out as trans is usually scary. Coming out as trans can be dangerous.
    • Trans guys who pass, meaning they are perceived as men by people they meet, will at some point have to come out to romantic and/or sexual partner(s).
    • Usually these conversations will take place well before anything gets hot and heavy but sometimes things get a little carried out of hand and things need to pause so they can talk.
    • The last place most trans guys want to be when disclosing they’re trans is in the bedroom with someone’s hand down their pants as an “oh, by the way”. There have been many of cases of trans guys getting attacked in these situations if their partner freaks out over it. General rule? Don’t write your coming out scene as happening in the bedroom.

  • BODY BOUNDARIES: Trans people in general have a different relationship to their body from cis people by virtue of being trans. So since we’re focused on trans guys, let’s get into that.
    • Not all trans guys have sex the same way. Not all trans guys are okay with using some or all of the body parts they have during sex. We each have different body boundaries.
    • I know guys who won’t get shirtless, guys who won’t take off their binder, and guys who strip shirtless without worry. I know guys who don’t want their chest touched and guys who are really into receiving nipple play.
    • I know guys who love getting blowjobs and guys who don’t want a mouth down there.
    • I know guys who don’t want their cunt touched, guys who are okay with only fingers in there, and guys who are all about taking things in the front door.
    • I know guys who don’t want any penetrative sex, guys who don’t care where you put it, guys who only want it in the front, guys who don’t want anything in their ass, and guys who are fine as long as it’s only going in their ass.
    • I know guys who exclusively top, never bottom, and have gorgeous collections of strap-ons to fuck their partner(s). Yes, that’s right, trans men can top!
    • These are just some examples and there’s no standard. Every trans man will have different body boundaries that they need to discuss with their partner(s).

  • BODY CHANGES: The body changes a lot on testosterone. So let’s get into some of those changes.
    • CHEST: Chest fat does lessen on testosterone, but not usually by much. That said, they do become a lot more limp due to binding over the years. Binding makes breast tissue basically wilt, break down, and go floppy. If a trans guy binds, his chest fat will become more limp over time. Easier to compress flatter, but also deteriorates skin quality for future surgery.
    • BODY HAIR: Holy hairy nipples, batman! Trans guys often get chest hair, just like cis guys. I’ve never once seen a fic talk about a trans guy’s chest hair. Trans guys also get happy trails, facial hair, thicker hair on our legs and arms, etc, and generally develop average male body & facial hair patterns.
    • DICK: This is one of the most noticeable changes on T, and also the fastest. Most guys begin to notice their dick starting to grow within a few weeks of starting T. Most grow to around 1″-2″ when erect. There are many cases of guys getting as much as 3″ but these should be considered outliers and not average. It’s the trans dude equivalent of a cis dude with a 10″ dick: possible but uncommon. Wait, erect? Yep! It gets erect. You can definitely see when a trans guy has a boner if you’re looking at his dick! You can also notice that it has a foreskin just like an uncut penis! The labia may also become more coarse and similar in texture to a cis guy’s balls.
    • FLUIDS: Not all trans guys get dry downstairs on T. Some do. But I know a lot of guys who’ve gotten a lot more wet since starting T. It happens a lot. It’s a 50/50 shot, really. Bodies are weird. There are some sloppy, messy, slick trans guys and some trans guys who have to use lube daily so they don’t chafe or even use an estrogen cream down there.
    • SMELL: On Testosterone, the smell of a trans guy’s junk changes. You get Man Musk within the first 6 months. Anyone who’s been near a cis guy’s dick knows what I mean by that: that really sharp, earthy dick smell.
    • TASTE: After about 6-8 months on testosterone, a trans guy’s fluids down there stop tasting like going down on a cis girl and they start tasting a hell of a lot more like a cis dude’s precum. It’s a hormone thing. So giving a trans dude who’s been on T for a while a blowjob is gonna smell & taste a lot more like blowing a guy with a really leaky dick than going down on a girl. Cause that’s exactly what’s going on.
    • ORGASMS: Orgasms also change on testosterone. Guys who could previously get multiple orgasms pre-T often can’t once they start testosterone. But they do usually report them being stronger and more intense

  • HAVING SEX: Trans men definitely don’t have sex like cis women. Because they’re not cis women. They’re men. They’re just men with a slightly different tool set in their tool belt.
    • Like I said under Body Boundaries, we use our bodies to have sex in many varied ways. Blowjobs, handjobs, rimming, vaginal fingering, anal fingering, vaginal sex, anal sex, I could go on for ages.
    • If a trans guy is taking a cis dude’s dick in his cunt, it’s still gay sex, not straight sex, and needs to be treated as such.

  • SAFER SEX & PREGNANCY:
    • Trans guys can get STDs like any other guy and should use condoms accordingly. Trans guys having risky or unprotected sex with cis men may be prescribed PrEP, an HIV-prevention medication designed to lower the risk of contracting HIV.
    • Speaking of STDs, people can get gonorrhoea & chlamydia in their ass or throat via anal & oral sex. This will not show on a standard pee test. There are special swabs for the ass and throat. Most doctors do not routinely perform these tests. They really should. But, back to the point.
    • Some people think trans men can’t get pregnant. This is a myth. Some men think trans men can’t be on birth control. This is a myth. These myths are dangerous.
    • Trans men who are having sex with cis men can get pregnant unless they’ve had a hysterectomy. The risk of pregnancy is decreased but not eliminated by T.
    • Trans men on T cannot get estrogen-based birth control but they can be on progesterone-only birth control. Most large trans-affirming health clinics will recommend this for trans men who have sex with cis men. Generally, this comes in two forms: a daily pill known as the ‘minipill’ or a 12-week injection known as the ‘depo shot’.

  • MEDICAL PROCEDURES: There are many routes trans guys can take in terms of medically transitioning.
    • For most trans people, the first step is hormone replacement therapy (HRT). For trans guys, this involves Testosterone therapy. Testosterone is usually administered via injection every 1, 2, or 12 weeks, depending on which kind, or via a daily cream/gel. 1 & 2 week shots are self-administered while 12-week shots are done by a professional. Trans guys who come out as kids or young teens may be prescribed hormone blockers to prevent or halt puberty until they can start T when they’re 15-18 (age varies with local laws & doctor’s discretion).
    • Another step for trans guys is usually top surgery. Guys with tiny chests (small B or less) can get periareolar (’peri’) or keyhole surgery. This leaves only a tiny scar around the nipple. Guys with larger chests usually get a double incision (’DI’) surgery which involves larger scars along the bottom of the pecs and nipple grafts or, less commonly, an Inverted-T or T-anchor surgery which involves the same scars under the pecs but an additional vertical scar from there to the nipple while eliminating the need for nipple grafts.
    • Trans guys usually get a total hysterectomy, removing the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and all the bits in between. A trans guy who has his ovaries removed must be on some form of hormone therapy (eg: testosterone) or else risks bone loss & osteoporosis.
    • Some trans guys may opt for genital surgery. These procedures and the reasons why some trans guys might or might not want one surgery or another is a whole complicated topic in itself. But if you’re curious, look into metoidioplasty (’meta/meto’) or phalloplasty (’phallo’). Tread carefully.

So, I’ll wrap this up with my most important point, again: If you are anything other than a trans guy (eg: if you are cis, nb, etc), DO NOT CALL A TRANS DUDE’S DICK A CLIT. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS SMUTTY, CALL IT A DICK.

And, as I said, anyone can feel free to message me if they have questions about writing trans guys having sex.

Tl;dr: Just be respectful and know your subject matter.

i’m sure this has been done. but. eh.

“I don’t think it’s that bad,” Neil says.

Andrew looks away from the road to Neil, and then back again.

“They’re not,” Neil attempts.

The only reason Neil finally agreed to go to the dentist was because of the threat of being benched by the coaches. Not because the pain has been affecting his playing - of course it hasn’t - but because everyone on the team is sick of him holding and rotating his jaw all the time, obviously in pain but completely unwilling to admit it.

“You do as the doctors say now,” Andrew says, a reminder of an old agreement made back when Neil first went pro. Neil’s innate distrust in people wasn’t ever going to be a good enough reason for him to be stupid in regards to medical care when he was out of Abby’s hands. Andrew would like to think that now they’re on the same team he would have slightly more sway over Neil, but that’s never really been the case.

“He’s not a doctor.” The level of scorn in Neil’s voice is truly impressive.

“Medical professional, then.” Andrew imagines the look on the dentist’s face as hearing Neil’s real opinion of him.

“Lots of people keep their wisdom teeth,” Neil says. “You still have yours.”

Andrew’s aren’t growing sideways out of his skull and threatening to crowd all his other teeth together. The term the dentist had used for Neil’s was ‘severely impacted’. He’d referred Neil to a maxillofacial surgeon and said that Neil would be lucky if they could be removed under sedation rather than a general anaesthetic.

“I know,” Andrew says, rather than attempting a logical argument. There’s really no point.

“What?”

“I know, it’s hard to believe that my mouth really is bigger than yours,” Andrew says.

The threat of benching works well enough to get Neil to the surgeon, which is unsurprising to anyone who actually knows Neil. He’s calm and unafraid all day, except for the piercing look he gives Andrew in the moments before he’s ushered away.

“There’s a quiet waiting room just through here,” someone says, indicating a door. “You would be amazed how ill people have to be before they stop considering asking for an autograph.”

It’s been a while since anyone over the age of about sixteen asked Andrew for an autograph - the older ones got the idea eventually - but the offer of a quiet place to not be stared at isn’t anything to be sniffed at. Andrew goes through the door and takes a spot on a chair next to the window with a clear view of the door.

His fingers itch for a cigarette. He reaches for his phone instead.

Social media isn’t of much interest to him, so he spends a good half-hour reading news articles spiralling into scientific studies and then into the rabbit hole of wikipedia. He’s not sure quite how long it’s been when a knock at the door interrupts him from the page he’s reading on Indian mathematics.

Someone in scrubs puts her head through the door. “Mister Minyard? Neil is in recovery now. You can come sit with him.”

Andrew stands and follows her quick bustle of a walk, putting his phone in his pocket as he goes. The nurse is chatting as speedily as she walks. “Once he’s more awake and we know for sure he’s feeling himself he can be discharged. He’s a little quiet right now, but he asked for you before.”

She ushers him into a private room - another perk of being professional athletes - with a smile.

Neil is lying on his back on the bed with his eyes closed, but he opens them when he hears Andrew sitting in the chair at his side. He looks a little like a chipmunk with the gauze stuffed in his cheeks, his jaw swollen enough that it’s grotesquely square rather than its usual fine-angled shape.

“Hey,” Andrew says.

He’s not necessarily expecting chattiness, but he is expecting an answer. Instead Neil just stares at him. His eyes are very large, as are his pupils.

“Hi,” he says eventually. He sounds exactly like he’s talking through a mouthful of cotton. The nurse comes in and fiddles with the blood pressure cuff on his arm, and Neil rolls his head around to watch her doing it.

“I’m just going to squash your arm again, okay?” she says, with the manner of someone talking to a child or an adult who is exceptionally out of their mind on drugs.

Neil doesn’t say anything for a moment, and then comes out with, “This is Andrew.”

The nurse flicks Andrew a look and a small smile. “We met, actually. He was waiting outside for you.”

“He’ll always wait for me,” Neil tells her, matter-of-fact. “He’s my partner.”

The nurse’s expression doesn’t change much, but it’s only through power of will, Andrew suspects. She looks like she would love to laugh. “That’s really nice of him.”

“Yeah,” Neil sighs warmly. He’s pathetic.

“I would have recognised him anyway,” the nurse says, still looking amused. “I’m a Rebels fan.”

Neil, who is the biggest Rebels fan in the city, does something that might have been a half-smile if it weren’t for the current state of his face. Then it falls off. Mournfully, he says, “I can’t play this week.”

“No, but you’ll be back out there before you know it,” the nurse comforts. Her name tag says ‘Helen’ and has a yellow flower on it. “Are you playing, Andrew?”

“He’s the starting goalie,” Neil says before Andrew can say anything, almost making it to sounding affronted. Mostly he just sounds loopy. Andrew has never seen him have so many emotional shifts in thirty seconds before.

“I thought he might be stuck looking after you,” Helen replies. “I know what athletes are like.”

“I can look after myself.” That’s a very Neil answer, and also a complete lie. Andrew is banking on Neil being too miserable to want to come to the game in two days, because otherwise he’ll be on the bench in all his swollen-faced glory.

“I’m sure you can,” Helen says, and pats him on the shoulder condescendingly. Neil doesn’t notice at all. “I’ll come back in fifteen minutes and see how you’re doing.”

She bustles back out again, closing the door behind her gently. Neil sighs and rolls onto his side, muttering something indecipherable when the blood pressure cuff gets pulled tight under his body. It doesn’t sound pleased, and it’s definitely not in any language Andrew recognises.

Neil raises his unrestrained hand towards Andrew. It swerves a little in the air. “Can I?”

“Yes,” Andrew says. He’s expecting Neil to take his hand, but he doesn’t flinch when Neil reaches for his face instead. What he currently lacks in coordination he makes up for in gentleness, but Andrew closes his eyes anyway to lower the risk of losing one to a poorly-aimed finger.

“You look weird,” Neil mutters.

You look weird,” Andrew tells him, mostly because it’s true, partly to see Neil wrinkle his nose at him.

“Do not,” Neil replies. He pats Andrew’s cheek, and then gets distracted by Andrew’s hair. That’s not unusual, to be fair, though the level of concentration he’s giving it is. “Hey.”

“Yes?”

“Hey.” More insistently this time, like he doesn’t already have Andrew’s full attention. He tugs Andrew’s hair.

Never let it be said Andrew can’t take a hint. He lowers himself onto his elbows on the edge of the bed and puts his forehead to Neil’s. Even though they’re at odd angles, Neil sighs in satisfaction. His eyelashes flutter against Andrew’s temple, fingers stroking idly over the arch of Andrew’s ear.

“Good,” he mutters, seemingly to himself.

They stay like that, Andrew’s chin pillowed on the starchy sheets and his forehead likely leaving an imprint on Neil’s fairer skin. Neil dozes, hand going lax, and Andrew closes his eyes and thinks in circles for a little while about the Bakhshali Manuscript.

Another knock at the door makes him raise his head. Neil’s eyes flash open, and then he blinks like he’s reeling a little. His fingers have fallen to Andrew’s wrist, and they tighten for a split-second before dropping away.

“Hi again,” Helen says gently. “Let’s get a look at you, Neil.”

Andrew moves aside and lets her at him, ignoring the disgruntled sound this earns from the bed. Neil is distracted quickly by Helen extracting the arm with the cuff from under his body and taking his blood pressure again, before removing it and making him sit up. Then she leaves, and returns with clothes and a clipboard. The clothes she leaves for Neil to attempt to put on. The clipboard she gives to Andrew.

“Rather than it turning out as a discharge form as signed by Alexander Pushkin,” she explains with a shrug. It’s fine, Andrew is all over Neil’s paperwork these days. He flips through the notes and signs in the right places then hands the board back, and gets a sheet of discharge instructions in its place.

“I’ll leave you guys for a sec and sort things,” she says, and does just that. It leaves Andrew to subtly ensure that Neil puts all his clothes on the right body parts. He’s looking less high but still dazed, his eyes hooded but his face pulling tighter. In the fall down, he’s always uncomfortably aware of the abnormality of being out of control of himself. Years later that hasn’t changed. Andrew isn’t surprised.

“You’re good to go,” Helen tells Neil when she returns, and then says to Andrew, “Good luck!”

He would like to think, as he manoeuvres Neil out, that she means for the game on Friday. It’s not likely, though.

Neil falls asleep against the window on the drive home. Andrew prods him awake so he can walk himself into the elevator, where he sags against the wall, and then into the apartment. He shuffles into the bedroom, still making gentle smooching noises at Sir and King as he winds himself into the duvet. He’s out ten seconds later.

Andrew watches for a moment while King curls up beside him and Sir gently begins to groom his hair, and then retreats to the balcony for a cigarette.

Andrew has relocated inside to the couch by the time he hears stirring from the bedroom a few hours later. The Neil who emerges is rumpled but sleepy in a normal sense rather than because of lingering sedation.

He lowers himself gently onto the cushion beside Andrew, and then even more slowly lowers his head down onto Andrew’s thighs.

“Painkillers?” Andrew offers. The discharge notes included strict instructions on dosage and timing, but Neil’s been asleep long enough to be due another couple of pills.

“In a minute,” Neil mumbles, like he’s trying to move his jaw as little as possible. He pats Andrew on the shin. “Stay.”

In an hour Neil’s going to be pissed off and probably a little anxious, wanting to move but knowing he can’t, irritated by the pain. But for now, it’s pretty easy to read a book and play pillow while Neil rests.

A seminal study published in the Journal of Economic Perspectives on wealth accumulation estimates that as much as 20 percent of wealth can be attributed to formal and informal gifts from family members, especially parents. And it starts early. In college, black and Hispanic Millennials are more likely to have to work one or two jobs to get through, missing out on opportunities to connect with classmates who have time to tinker around in dorm rooms and go on to found multibillion-dollar companies together. Many of them take on higher levels of student debt than their white peers, often to pay for routine expenses, such as textbooks, that their parents are less likely to subsidize.

“Student debt is the biggest millstone around Millennials, period, and an even larger and heavier one around the necks of black Millennials,” said Tom Shapiro, the director of the Institute on Assets and Social Policy. “It really hits those doing the right thing. [They’re] going through all the hoops.” He explained that, unlike in previous decades when college tuition was drastically lower, the risks of educational costs are now passed down to the individual.

Hi!!! I was wondering if you could do how rfa+v+Saeran would react to seeing old self harm scars on MC or MC relapsing? I am almost 1 year clean from Self harming but today is one of those bad days I get urges to do it. If you don't feel comfortable doing this it's okay :) Hope you have a good day and keep working hard 💪🏼❤

i’m so proud of you for staying clean so long, i know how hard it is!! i have scars myself from 1-2 years ago, so this was comforting for me to write as well :) i hope it helped you feel a bit better, remember that you deserve being happy! ❤ i’m always here if you need someone to talk to

Trigger warning: self harm

Zen (this turned out really long whoops)

  • A lot of his fans were jealous of you, so you got a lot of hate for being “to ugly and fat for Zen”
  • You were home alone as he was at rehearsal, so he couldn’t scold you for looked down at your thighs in disgust
  • They were faint, but the old scars on them gave you an idea. You hadn’t done it in a long time, but you remembered that it did feel calming to a certain degree
  • You went to the bathroom, popped out a blade from your razor, took a deep breath and let yourself feel that familiar burning
  • Suddenly you heard the front door open and Zen’s voice telling you he was home early
  • You scrambled to find something to wipe the blood away with, and ended up just messily wiping it away with a paper towel before pulling on a pair of his sweatpants and going out to greet him
  • He smiled when he saw you, then frowned
  • “Princess, I feel rude to ask, but are you on your period? You’ve got blood on your pants”
  • Shocked, you looked down and saw that the cuts appearantely were too deep for your messy wiping, so there was quickly growing blood spots on your legs
  • Zen was no stranger to people with bad mental health around him as he was a public figure, so he quickly suspected what you had done
  • When he saw that the spots got bigger his fears were confirmed, and you saw his entire face fall
  • “I-I can explain…”
  • He cupped your face and looked straight into your eyes with the saddest look you had ever seen
  • “Listen here… I know a lot of my fans don’t treat you right, is that it?”
  • His worried stare was too intense, so you looked down with tears in your eyes and just nodded
  • He sighed and pulled you close to him, kissing your head
  • “I love you so much, it hurts me too… But harming yourself won’t do anything good, you understand that? Can I see..?”
  • Hesitantely, you nodded again and pulled down the pants so he could see, and he got down on his knees and started kissing your thighs, not caring that they were bloody
  • “I love every single part of you, you understand that? Let’s go clean and wrap this up, I will protect you. Even if it’s from yourself”

Yoosung

  • He convinced you to cook with him
  • You were supposed to make cookies, but the only thing you managed to make was a total mess
  • By the time you finally got them into the oven, you both had dough and flour all over from the food war you had
  • He offered to clean some up from you, and when you agreed he blushed and kissed you
  • When you smiled into the kiss because he tasted like cookie dough, he gained confidence and slowly pushed you back to the wall, where he pinned your wrists over your head
  • You moaned softly in suprise as he wasn’t usually this dominant and it was really hot I’m always a slut for dominant Yoosung
  • Wanting to see what effect he had on you he pulled away for just a second, when his eyes were pulled to where he was holding your wrists
  • The sleeves you usually made sure were always covering your scars had rolled down to your elbows, revealing all of them
  • You saw his eyes go from filled with lust to filled with worry, and you looked away from him in shame
  • “They’re all old… Right?”
  • You nodded and he sighed relieved, before he hugged you tight
  • “You mean so much for me, I don’t want you to ever feel like that again. Please talk to me if you feel bad, okay? Can you promise me that?”
  • You agreed and he kissed your head
  • “I think it’s time for cookies and cuddles”

Jaehee

  • You had such a crush on her, but she was either really oblivious or just didn’t like you back
  • No matter what the reason was, it really hurt and you couldn’t help but feel insecure when all of your flirting got turned down
  • You really didn’t want to stoop so low as to go back to your old self harm habits, but it was so hard
  • In addition to the fact that you lived with her, the stress of running a café and your parents not accepting that you had a crush on a girl, it all got too much for you
  • One day when she was grocery shopping, you couldn’t help but find a small knife in the kitchen, locking your bedroom door and resume your old habit
  • You tried to keep them relatively shallow so they would heal quicker and lower your risk of getting caught, but once you started you found it hard to stop
  • You sobbed softly but because of that you didn’t hear Jaehee return from the store
  • Not finding you in the couch where she left you, she wandered around the appartment untill she heard you and stopped in front of your room
  • “MC? What’s wrong?”
  • When you didn’t answer she got worried, found a spare key and unlocked the door with a warning
  • You didn’t even bother trying to hide what you were doing, you just hung your head in shame as she gasped in shock
  • “W-what do you think you’re doing? Give me that knife!”
  • She quickly took it from you, ran to the bathroom to get a first aid kit and found you full on crying on the bed
  • Putting bandages on your wrists she softly said “Shh… I don’t know why you did this and you don’t need to tell me if you don’t want to, but please know that this isn’t going to make anything better”
  • When this just made you cry harder, she kissed your newly bandaged wrist
  • “I… I care way too much about you to see you like this, you should know that. Please come to me if you ever feel like this, okay? I can’t ever lose my reason for happiness”

Jumin

  • Whenever the two of you made out, you would always stop him when his hands started roaming under your shirt
  • Which he thought was fair, considering that your relationship was still new and you probably just weren’t comfortable enough with him yet
  • A few weeks after you started dating he offered to take you on a vacation, figuring you needed it after the stress of the party and hacker and all that
  • With Elizabeth the 3rd safely at V’s house and a mansion by a private beach rented for the weekend, he wanted to spend some time alone with you
  • He was suprisingly fond of the beach and wanted you to take you swimming there, but you kept declining
  • Kind of upset, he asked if there was any spesific reason why
  • You shrugged it off and said that you just weren’t in the mood, that you were tired and wanted to nap instead
  • He encouraged you to do as you pleased, not showing how hurt he was that you declined his offer
  • An hour or so after you had fallen asleep, he got bored and went to check on you and saw you sleeping, your shirt riled up revealing dozens of scars on your belly
  • His heart broke when he realized that was probably why you were so insecure about intimacy and going swimming
  • Careful not to wake you up, he hovered over you on bed and kissed your stomach
  • Despite his efforts you still woke up, and squeeled suprised when you saw him practially praising your biggest insecurity
  • “Kitten, I don’t ever want to see you do this again, but please understand that I love everything about you and you have nothing to be ashamed of. You’re like a tiger, these stripes show that you are strong. Promise to not hide yourself from me anymore, okay?”

707

  • Yet again he was doubting your love and pushing you away
  • He yelled when you tried to hug him, not knowing that the reason why you were clingy was that you were feeling like shit and needed to be comforted
  • You knew you were overreacting when you stopped by the bathroom to get a razor before returning to your shared bed (that he rarely used), but it just hurt so much that he didn’t trust you even after months of living together
  • Taking a deep breath, you pulled the leg of your pants and traced the outline if your old scars on your shin with the razor blade
  • Seven did realize how much he had hurt you, and just to be sure he checked the security camera he had installed in your room
  • When he saw that you were hurting himself he rose from his chair and ran to the bedroom, desperate to stop you
  • “Stop what you’re doing right now!”
  • You looked at him with tears in your eyes and yelled “so now you care?!”
  • With a firm look he pulled up the sleeve of his hoodie, showing his own scars and cuts
  • Taken back, you looked confused at him
  • He just smiled sad
  • “I know life is hard, okay? I know I am a shitty boyfriend, a shitty brother, a shitty person. But that doesn’t mean you are, do you understand that? It might not seem like it right now, but I really do love you. Like, I really love you. Can we make a deal? If you try to never do it again, so will I”
  • You nodded and hugged him, both of you apologizing for not being there for each other

V

  • Being practically blind, he depened a lot on his touch
  • Because of this, he had really sensitive finger tips
  • As weeks passed and you got closer to the handsome photographer, you let him touch and explore more and more of you
  • His new favorite hobby was to just run his hands over your smooth skin, trying to picture exactly what you looked like
  • During a particularly steamy makeout session you were on his lap, his hand travelling up your thighs where he could feel raised lines on your otherwise close to perfect skin
  • Pulling away from the kiss and raising an eyebrow questioningly, he kept tracing the lines
  • You hesitated before you admitted that you had self harmed, and he asked you if you had any other scars
  • Nodding despite his lack of sight, you took his hand and placed it on your wrist so he could feel them
  • He smiled sad and kissed your wrist
  • “You don’t have any fresh, do you?”
  • When you confirmed that you didn’t, he held you closer and kissed your nose
  • “I like everything about you, you know? You’re human, bad things are bound to happen sometimes. You got through it though, and I’m proud of you for that. Please remember that”

Saeran/Unknown

  • He didn’t like to admit it, but something about you pulled him towards you
  • The way you always put up with his bursts of anger and sadness and comforted him, made him care for you more and more as time passed
  • So when he saw you sleeping on the couch, his first reacting was to smile as you looked cute and carefree
  • And as he did find you quite attractive (not that he would ever admit that), he couldn’t help but let his eyes roam over your sleeping body
  • When he saw the scars and cuts on your wrist where your shirt had riled up your arms, he got mad
  • ?? Who had dared to hurt someone as nice as you??
  • He woke you up suprisingly gently, wanting to know who he needed to kill
  • Disoriented from sleeping, you said that he didn’t need to worry but he refused to give up, so he asked his brother
  • He admitted that he had seen you harm yourself but hadn’t really figured a way to confront you about it yet
  • Saeran got even more mad and walked back to the couch where you had gotten up and was now lazily stretching
  • “Why the fuck are you hurting yourself? Explain!” he growled and pushed you against the wall
  • Stuttering and ashamed you explained that it was a way to deal with sadness, but he didn’t get it at all
  • “Giving yourself another type of pain will just make you more sad, you idiot! God, what’s wrong with you?”
  • Hearing the guy you were crushing on saying this to you and literally growling made you tear up, and you saw his expression change to one of sorrow
  • “I-I’m sorry, okay? It’s just… You’ve helped me so much and I want to return the favor, but I have no idea how to. You… You are special, I don’t want you to be sad”
  • You met his eyes and saw how sincere he was, and was suprised when he hugged you tight
  • “Please don’t ever do it again, MC”

AoO vs AoA

So we’re in combat and one of our players wants to try out a certain move but is asking the DM a question about it first. The monster had reach and the player was low on health, so he wanted to avoid an attack of opportunity to lower the risk of him getting knocked out.

Player 1: So if I move away from that guy, do I take an AoA?

DM: Let me just check tha-…wait, do you mean Attack of Opportunity?

Player 1: Isn’t that what I said?

Player 2: No. AoA is a K-Pop band

Player 3: I’M GOOD I’M HOT I’M FRESH I’M FLY!!!

About half of all U.S. deaths from heart disease, stroke and Type 2 diabetes are linked to poor diets, according to a new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

And eating more — or less — of just 10 types of food can help raise or lower the risk of death from these causes.

Scientists at Tufts University identified the foods that seem to contribute the most to the risk. At the top of the list? Salt. Next, the high intake of red meat and processed meats such as bacon was linked to 8 percent of the deaths. And sugary drinks were a factor in 7.4 percent of the deaths.

Aloe Vera (Mod MC)

OVERVIEW

Aloe is a cactus-like plant that grows in hot, dry climates. In the United States, aloe is grown in Florida, Texas, and Arizona. Aloe produces two substances, gel and latex, which are used for medicines. Aloe gel is the clear, jelly-like substance found in the inner part of the aloe plant leaf. Aloe latex comes from just under the plant’s skin and is yellow in color. Some aloe products are made from the whole crushed leaf, so they contain both gel and latex. The aloe that is mentioned in the Bible is an unrelated fragrant wood used as incense. Aloe medications can be taken by mouth or applied to the skin. People take aloe gel by mouth for weight loss, diabetes, hepatitis, inflammatory bowel diseases, osteoarthritis, stomach ulcers, asthma, radiation-related skin sores, fever, itching and inflammation, and as a general tonic. A chemical in aloe called acemannan is taken by mouth for HIV/AIDS. Aloe extract is used for high cholesterol. Aloe latex is taken by mouth mainly as a laxative for constipation. It is also used for seizures, asthma, colds, bleeding, lack of a menstrual period, swelling of the colon (colitis), depression, diabetes, eye conditions that cause blindness (glaucoma), multiple sclerosis, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, joint inflammation, osteoarthritis, and vision problems. Fresh aloe leaves are taken by mouth for cancer. People apply aloe gel to the skin for acne, an inflammatory skin condition called lichen planus, inflammation in the mouth, burning mouth, radiation-induced skin damage, dental plaque, diaper rash, frostbite, gum disease, bedsores, scabies, dandruff, wound healing, hemorrhoids and pain after surgery to remove internal hemorrhoids, osteoarthritis, inflammation, and as an antiseptic. Aloe extract and aloe gel are also applied to the skin for genital herpes, scaly and itchy skin, burns, sunburns, and dry skin. Aloe extract is applied to the skin as an insect repellant. Aloe leaf juice is applied to the skin for anal fissures. A chemical in aloe called acemannan is applied to the skin for dry sockets in the mouth and canker sores.

How does it work?

The useful parts of aloe are the gel and latex. The gel is obtained from the cells in the center of the leaf; and the latex is obtained from the cells just beneath the leaf skin. Aloe gel might cause changes in the skin that might help diseases like psoriasis. Aloe seems to be able to speed wound healing by improving blood circulation through the area and preventing cell death around a wound. It also appears that aloe gel has properties that are harmful to certain types of bacteria and fungi. Aloe latex contains chemicals that work as a laxative.

USES

Possibly Effective for

  • Acne. Research suggests that applying an aloe gel in the morning and evening, in addition to a prescription anti-acne medicine, improves acne by about 35% in both children and adults.
  • Burns. Applying aloe gel to the skin seems to improve burn healing. Also applying cream that contains aloe to the skin twice daily appears to improve itching and reduce skin picking compared to applying corticosteroid medication in people with chemical burns. It is unclear if aloe reduces healing time compared to applying antibiotics. Some research shows that applying aloe cream reduces healing time and wound size compared to applying antibiotics in people with first or second degree burns. But other early research suggests that applying fresh aloe or aloe extract daily is not more effective than antibiotic treatments for reducing wounds or improving healing in people with first or second degree burns.
  • Constipation. Taking aloe latex by mouth can reduce constipation and also cause diarrhea.
  • Genital herpes. Evidence shows that applying an aloe extract 0.5% cream three times daily increases healing rates in men with genital herpes.
  •  Itchy rash on the skin or mouth (Lichen planus). Research shows that using a mouthwash containing aloe gel three times daily for 12 weeks or applying a gel containing aloe gel twice daily for 8 weeks can reduce pain associated with itchy rashes in the mouth. Other research shows that using a mouthwash containing aloe four times daily for one month or applying an aloe gel three times daily for 2 months reduces pain and increases healing similarly to the corticosteroid triamcinolone acetonide in people with itchy rashes in the mouth.
  •  A mouth condition called oral submucous fibrosis. Early research suggests that applying aloe gel (Sheetal lab Surat) on each side of the inner lining of the cheeks three times daily for 3 months improves burning, the ability to open the mouth, and cheek flexibility in people with a mouth condition called oral submucous fibrosis. Other research suggests that applying aloe gel twice daily for up to 6 months along with other treatments can reduce burning and improve movement of the mouth.
  • Psoriasis. Applying a cream containing 0.5% aloe extract for 4 weeks seems to reduce the skin plaques. Also applying cream containing aloe gel seems to decrease the severity of psoriasis better than the corticosteroid triamcinolone. But using an aloe gel does not seem to improve other symptoms associated with psoriasis, including skin redness.
  • Weight loss. Research suggests that taking a specific aloe product (Aloe QDM complex, Univera Inc., Seoul, South Korea) containing 147 mg of aloe gel twice daily for 8 weeks reduces body weight and fat mass in overweight or obese people with diabetes or prediabetes.

Possibly Ineffective for

  • Burning mouth syndrome. Applying aloe gel to sore areas on the tongue three times daily before wearing a tongue protector for 12 weeks does not appear to improve pain or reduce symptoms in people with burning mouth syndrome.
  • HIV/AIDS. Early research suggests that taking 400 mg of a chemical that comes from aloe four times daily does not improve immune function in people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Also, eating 30-40 mL of aloe gruel does not improve immune function in people with HIV compared to antiretroviral therapy.
  •  Skin damage caused by radiation treatment for cancer. Most research shows that applying aloe gel to the skin during and after radiation treatment does not reduce skin damage caused by the radiation, although it might delay the appearance of skin damage. Some early research suggests that applying a specific cream product (Radioskin 2, Herbalab di Perazza Massimiliano Company) to the skin two to three times daily at least 3 hours before and after radiation treatment from 15 days before the start of treatment until one month after, along with another specific cream product (Radioskin 1, Herbalab di Perazza Massimiliano Company), might improve skin hydration and reduce skin damage caused by radiation therapy in people with breast cancer. But it’s not clear if the effects of these creams are related to aloe or other ingredients in the creams.

Insufficient Evidence for

  • Dry socket (alveolar osteitis) . Research shows that applying a specific product (SaliCept patch) containing acemannan, a chemical from aloe, to the tooth socket of people with dry sockets after standard treatment, reduces pain and improves symptoms more than standard treatment alone.
  • Anal fissures. Early research suggests that applying an aloe cream (Zarban Phyto-Pharmaceutical Co, Iran) three times daily for at least 3 weeks, along with sitz bath three times daily, using a laxative, and eating a full fiber diet, improves pain, wound healing, and bleeding in people with anal fissures.
  • Cancer. Early research suggests that, when given with standard chemotherapy, three daily doses of a mixture containing fresh aloe leaves and honey dissolved in alcohol increases the number of patients with lung cancer who are able to heal completely, partially, or maintain control of their disease when compared to just chemotherapy alone. However, taking aloe does not seem to be linked with a lower risk of getting lung cancer.
  •  Canker sores. Early research suggests that using a wound dressing containing acemannan, a chemical that comes from aloe, shortens the amount of time needed for canker sores to heal. Also, applying a gel containing acemannan might reduce ulcer size in some patients. But using the corticosteroid triamcinolone acetonide seems to work better. Other research suggests that applying a gel containing aloe does not seem to increase the length of time between canker sores.
  • Dental plaque. Some early research suggests that using a toothpaste containing aloe daily for 24 weeks reduces plaque. Other research evaluating a specific aloe-containing toothpaste (Forever Bright, Forever Living Products) found it to be comparable to a toothpaste that contains fluoride at reducing plaque.
  • Diabetes. There is conflicting information about whether aloe can reduce blood sugar in people with diabetes. Some studies indicate that taking aloe gel by mouth can reduce blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. But another study did not show the same benefit. Also, other research suggests that taking a specific aloe gel product (Aloe QDM complex, Univera Inc., Seoul, South Korea) twice daily for 8 weeks does not affect blood sugar in patients with diabetes or prediabetes.
  • Diaper rash. Early research suggests that applying a cream containing aloe gel and olive oil three times daily for 10 days reduces the severity of diaper rash in children younger than 3-years-old.
  • Dry skin. Early research suggests that applying a cream containing aloe extract to the skin for 2 weeks increases the amount of water in the outermost later of the skin, but not on the inner layers. Other research suggests that wearing gloves coated in aloe improves symptoms of dry skin in women. However, it is not clear if the benefits were from the aloe or the gloves.
  •  Frostbite. When applied to the skin, aloe gel seems to help skin survive frostbite injury.
  • Gum disease. Some research shows that using a specific aloe-containing toothpaste (Forever Bright, Forever Living Products) is comparable to a toothpaste that contains fluoride at reducing gingivitis. Other research suggests that using a toothpaste containing aloe daily for 24 weeks reduces gingivitis, but not as well as a toothpaste the contains the drug triclosan.
  • Hepatitis. Early evidence suggests that taking aloe three times daily for 12 weeks reduces symptoms of hepatitis in people with liver fibrosis mainly caused by hepatitis B or C. High cholesterol and other blood fats (hyperlipidemia). Early research suggests that taking 10 mL or 20 mL of aloe extract by mouth daily for 12 weeks can reduce total cholesterol by about 15%, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol by about 18%, and triglycerides by about 25% to 30% in people with hyperlipidemia. Insect repellent. Applying a product (Zanzarin, Engelhard Arzneimittel GmbH & Co. KG, Niederdorfelden, Germany) containing coconut oil, jojoba oil, and aloe to the feet twice daily for one week intervals seems to reduce the number of sand fleas in people with flea infestations.
  • Inflammation in the mouth (oral mucositis). Some evidence suggests that using an aloe solution three times daily during radiation therapy lowers the risk of developing painful inflammations in the mouth.
  • Bedsores. Some early research suggests that applying aloe gel does not improve the healing rate of bedsores compared to using gauze moistened with salt water. However, other research suggests that using a spray containing aloe does reduce the severity of sores compared to a salt water spray.
  • Scabies. Early research suggests that aloe gel might reduce itching and wounds similar to benzyl benzoate lotion in people with scabies. Dandruff (seborrheic dermatitis). Early research suggests that applying aloe twice daily for 4-6 weeks improves dandruff.
  •  Inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis). Early research suggests that some people with mild to moderate ulcerative colitis who take aloe gel by mouth for 4 weeks have significantly reduced symptoms.
  • Wound healing. There is conflicting information about whether aloe works to improve wound healing. Some research shows that applying an aloe gel product (Carrington Dermal Wound Gel) to surgical wounds might actually delay wound healing. Other research shows that applying a hydrogel containing the chemical in aloe called acemannan (Carrasyn, Carrington hydrogel) doesn’t affect wound healing. But other research suggests that applying an aloe cream (Zarband, Phytopharmaceutical Co., Iran) to hemorrhoid-related wounds improves wound healing and provides some pain relief. Also, applying aloe gel under a dry gauze to a caesarean wound seems to improve initial healing compared to applying dry gauze alone.
  •  Epilepsy.
  • Asthma.
  • Colds.
  • Bleeding.
  • Lack of a menstrual period.
  • Depression.
  •  Glaucoma.
  • Multiple sclerosis.
  • Varicose veins.
  • Vision problems.
  • Other conditions.

More evidence is needed to rate aloe for these uses.

 SIDE EFFECTS

Aloe gel is LIKELY SAFE when applied to the skin appropriately as a medicine or as a cosmetic. Aloe is POSSIBLY SAFE when taken by mouth appropriately, short-term. Aloe gel has been used safely in a dose of 15 mL daily for up to 42 days. Also, a solution containing 50% aloe gel has been safely used twice daily for 4 weeks. A specific gel complex (Aloe QDM complex Univera Inc., Seoul, South Korea) has been used safely at a dose of about 600 mg daily for up to 8 weeks.

Taking aloe latex by mouth is POSSIBLY UNSAFE at any dose, but LIKELY UNSAFE when taken in high doses. Aloe latex can cause some side effects such as stomach pain and cramps. Long-term use of large amounts of aloe latex might cause diarrhea, kidney problems, blood in the urine, low potassium, muscle weakness, weight loss, and heart disturbances. Taking aloe latex 1 gram daily for several days can be fatal. There have been a few reports of liver problems in some people who have taken an aloe leaf extract; however, this is uncommon. It is thought to only occur in people who are extra sensitive (hypersensitive) to aloe.

Special Precautions & Warnings:

  • Pregnancy or breast-feeding: Aloe – either gel or latex – is POSSIBLY UNSAFE when taken by mouth. There is a report that aloe was associated with miscarriage. It could also be a risk for birth defects. Do not take aloe by mouth if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
  • Children: Aloe gel is POSSIBLY SAFE when applied to the skin appropriately. Aloe latex and aloe whole leaf extracts are POSSIBLY UNSAFE when taken by mouth in children. Children younger than 12 years-old might have stomach pain, cramps, and diarrhea.
  • Diabetes: Some research suggests that aloe might lower blood sugar. If you take aloe by mouth and you have diabetes, monitor your blood sugar levels closely.
  • Intestinal conditions such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, or obstruction: Do not take aloe latex if you have any of these conditions. Aloe latex is a bowel irritant. Remember, products made from whole aloe leaves will contain some aloe latex.
  • Hemorrhoids: Do not take aloe latex if you have hemorrhoids. It could make the condition worse. Remember, products made from whole aloe leaves will contain some aloe latex.
  • Kidney problems: High doses of aloe latex have been linked to kidney failure and other serious conditions.
  • Surgery: Aloe might affect blood sugar levels and could interfere with blood sugar control during and after surgery. Stop taking aloe at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.

INTERACTIONS

Major Interaction: Do not take this combination

  • Digoxin (Lanoxin) interacts with ALOE When taken by mouth aloe latex is a type of laxative called a stimulant laxative. Stimulant laxatives can decrease potassium levels in the body. Low potassium levels can increase the risk of side effects of digoxin (Lanoxin).

Moderate Interaction: Be cautious with this combination

  • Medications for diabetes (Antidiabetes drugs) interacts with ALOE Aloe gel might decrease blood sugar. Diabetes medications are also used to lower blood sugar. Taking aloe gel along with diabetes medications might cause your blood sugar to go too low. Monitor your blood sugar closely. The dose of your diabetes medication might need to be changed. Some medications used for diabetes include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), chlorpropamide (Diabinese), glipizide (Glucotrol), tolbutamide (Orinase), and others.
  • Medications taken by mouth (Oral drugs) interacts with ALOE When taken by mouth aloe latex is a laxative. Laxatives can decrease how much medicine your body absorbs. Taking aloe latex along with medications you take by mouth might decrease the effectiveness of your medication.
  •  Sevoflurane (Ultane) interacts with ALOE Aloe might decrease clotting of the blood. Sevoflurane is used as anesthesia during surgery. Sevoflurane also decreases clotting of the blood. Taking aloe before surgery might cause increased bleeding during the surgical procedure. Do not take aloe by mouth if you are having surgery within 2 weeks.
  • Stimulant laxatives interacts with ALOE When taken orally aloe latex is a type of laxative called a stimulant laxative. Stimulant laxatives speed up the bowels. Taking aloe latex along with other stimulant laxatives could speed up the bowels too much and cause dehydration and low minerals in the body. Some stimulant laxatives include bisacodyl (Correctol, Dulcolax), cascara, castor oil (Purge), senna (Senokot), and others. Warfarin (Coumadin) interacts with ALOE When taken orally, aloe latex is a type of laxative called a stimulant laxative. Stimulant laxatives speed up the bowels and can cause diarrhea in some people. Diarrhea can increase the effects of warfarin and increase the risk of bleeding. If you take warfarin, do not to take excessive amounts of aloe latex.
  • Water pills (Diuretic drugs) interacts with ALOE When taken by mouth aloe latex is a laxative. Some laxatives can decrease potassium in the body. “Water pills” can also decrease potassium in the body. Taking aloe latex along with “water pills” might decrease potassium in the body too much. Some “water pills” that can decrease potassium include chlorothiazide (Diuril), chlorthalidone (Thalitone), furosemide (Lasix), hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ, HydroDIURIL, Microzide), and others.

 DOSING

The following doses have been studied in scientific research:

ADULTS BY MOUTH: For constipation: 100-200 mg of aloe or 50 mg of aloe extract taken in the evening has been used. Also, a 500 mg capsule containing aloe, starting at a dose of one capsule daily and increasing to three capsules daily as required, has been used. For weight loss: A specific aloe gel product (Aloe QDM complex, Univera Inc., Seoul, South Korea) containing 147 mg of aloe twice daily for 8 weeks has been used.

APPLIED TO THE SKIN:

  • For acne: A 50% aloe gel has been applied in the morning and evening after washing the face, along with a prescription called tretinoin gel in the evening.
  • For burns: Aloe and olive oil cream, applied twice daily for 6 weeks, has been used. Also, aloe cream, applied twice daily after changing a wound dressing, or every three days until the burn heals, has been used. For herpes: A cream containing 0.5% aloe extract, applied three times daily for 5 consecutive days once or twice over a 2-week period, has been used.
  • For itchy rash on the skin or mouth (Lichen planus): Aloe gel, applied two to three times daily for 8 weeks has been used. Two tablespoons of aloe mouthwash, swished for 2 minutes and then spit, four times daily for one month has been used.
  • For a mouth condition called oral submucous fibrosis: 5 mg of an aloe gel (Sheetal lab Surat) applied on each side of the cheeks three times daily for 3 months has been used.
  • For psoriasis: Aloe extract 0.5% cream applied three times daily for 4 weeks has been used. A cream containing aloe, applied twice daily for 8 weeks, has been used.

CHILDREN APPLIED TO THE SKIN:

  •  For acne: A 50% aloe gel has been applied in the morning and evening after washing the face, along with a prescription called tretinoin gel in the evening.
  • For a precancerous mouth condition called oral submucous fibrosis: 5 mg of an aloe gel (Sheetal lab Surat), applied on each side of the cheeks three times daily for 3 months, has been used. ~Mod MC

One good thing about having an utterly touch-starved demon boyfriend is that it doesn’t take much to keep him happy in a physical sense. Which is great, considering Flug’s preeetty sure he’s nowhere near as ‘exciting’ as Black Hat’s used to sexually.

But God forbid you call this 'cuddling’. If anyone ever comes up with a more evil term for it, you can get back to them.

It wasn’t uncommon that they would find themselves snuggled up together on the eldritch’s bed (because let’s face it, Flug’s is too small) and simply… well, cuddling each other. There’s really no better word for it.

“And you know what else? The oxytocin release that this kind of physical contact produces even reduces blood pressure, lowering the risk of heart disease.” Flug rambled on, arms wrapped around the body next to him and absentmindedly fiddling with the collar of his partner’s coat. He’d been listing off random facts about the benefits of cuddling for a while now.

“Is that right?” Black Hat murmured, one of his own arms lolled around the doctor’s shoulders, lightly stroking Flug’s arm. The eldritch looked immensely relaxed, a nice change of pace from his norm.

“Mhm– Oh! And guess what else!” Flug’s eyes lit up as more info popped into his head. It was adorable, really. “Oxytocin has also been known to reduce anxiety and stress! And sharing a bed with a partner also lowers cortisol levels, which is a stress hormone!”

“Fascinating.” The demon rolled on top of Flug, grinning as he loomed over him. “Very good for you, then.” He purred, bending down to trail light kisses along the scientist’s shoulder and neck, getting a small shiver out of him.

“Hehe. Well, I-I guess you’re not wrong.” Flug laughed quietly, closing his eyes in a complete state of peace. “Another fascinating effect of oxytocin is its ability to improve emotional perceptiveness in others. Helps people recognize facial expressions and emotions and stuff, it’s really quite interesting.”

“Really?” Black Hat paused, looking up thoughtfully. “… Huh.” He grinned down at Flug again, going back to kissing him. “Good for me too, then.”

Flug chuckled under his breath, slipping his arms once again around his partner to hold him close. His eyes shot open as yet another fact came to mind. “Oh! And statistics say that 57% of….” He trailed off when he saw the other man smirking at him now. The scientist blushed and averted his eyes. “Ehehe….. I’m talking too much, aren’t I…..”

“If I wanted you to shut up, I’d tell you.” The demon snickered between smooches.

“H-Heh… I guess you would, wouldn’t you…” Flug replied, eyes slowly closing again.

Still, Flug fell quiet for some time. They both did. But it was far from an uncomfortable silence.

Black Hat took the time to lightly trace his fingers over Flug’s body, his sides, arms, shoulders, and chuckling at how easily he could make him shiver even being fully clothed. What a sensitive little scientist.

He leaned down, leaving one, two, three kisses along Flug’s face and neck, then paused all of a sudden, a thought crossing his mind.

Step Into My Parlor

if reaper is just fudging it and “in on it” with sombra, why does he seem so angry and throw his guns down in infiltration?

Figured this was worth a little bit of extra analysis!

So something we should probably establish is that the big reason I left Widowmaker out of the essay is because…well -

She’s probably not “in” on Sombra’s plan.

The argument in the essay was the explore if Reaper was involved or not.  I argued that it’s possible he is, based on what appears to be rather… “sloppy” attemps to complete seemingly straightforward missions.

Widowmaker, on the other hand, still seems to be a diehard Talon agent (we’ll get to Reflections in a second, just hang on with me)

The enemies of Talon will be eliminated.

So at the end of Infiltration, Sombra “reports” back that “the mission failed - target escaped.”

Reaper, in what seems to be a very dramatic act of frustration, snaps, “Get back to the ship.”

And then he throws his shotguns, seemingly in rage.

What a lot of people miss is that literally the very next shot is this:

Widowmaker has her scope on him the whole time.

And more importantly?

Reaper knows that she does.  He looks directly at her afterwards.

He may be undead.  He may not even be able to die.

But I’m willing to bet a sniper shot to the head still hurts (we know that Winston’s Tesla Cannon is capable of putting him “out of action” for awhile, and we see him take hits in Old Soldiers).

Are you really gonna risk lowering your guard/persona/front around the brainwashed agent who killed her own husband and trickshotted her last assassination target?

And more than that, if he is in on the plan, then “dropping the charade” blows his chances.

There’s a lot of guesswork and hypothesis-making involved here, but it’s very heavily implied that Widowmaker is suspicious of their actions - not just in Infiltration, where she makes this face, but also just in general.

Widowmaker has two main interactions with Sombra and Reaper, both of which indicate she’s: 1) suspicious of them and 2) keeping track of their failures:

Sombra: Ah, my favorite spider. I wonder what sort of web you’re spinning now.
Widowmaker: It would be a shame if something happened to you on our next mission. A real pity.

Reaper: Looks like we’re working together again.
Widowmaker: Let’s hope it goes better than the time at the museum.

Returning to the formatting I used on the last essay:

[Factual Lore]: Widowmaker is a brainwashed Talon agent who is “loyal” to the organization.

[Implications]: Most people seem to think that Reaper is “the one in charge” of the Talon trio of himself, Sombra, and Widowmaker, but given that Widowmaker is the “most successful member” (e.g. killed Mondatta, “killed” Ana Amari, killed Gerárd Lacroix) of the three of them, she may actually be the one in charge.

[Implications]: Regardless of who is “the actual leader” of this particular trio, there’s a very heavy implication that Widowmaker is keeping tabs on Sombra and Reaper.  While Sombra and Reaper have at least two interactions that imply they are “cooperating” with each other, Widowmaker’s main interactions with them show that she’s suspicious of them.

[Hypothesis]: Widowmaker isn’t in on Sombra’s plan, and neither Sombra nor Reaper know if they can trust her.  They continue to act like they are “dedicated” to performing their missions for Talon, especially when she is around.  We don’t know who Widowmaker reports to within Talon, but considering her “renowned” status (again, see her list of “kills”), the fact that she has enough “weight” to invite Hanzo to join the organization, the fact one of her generic “vs Overwatch” kill lines is “The enemies of Talon will be eliminated,” and the fact that she takes great pride in her skills and her organization it appears that she is fairly well-regarded and/or highly-ranked within the group.  She may report directly to the Talon Council or someone in it.

Rendez-vous avec la mort.

But what about Reflections?

In Reflections, we see Widowmaker return to Gerárd’s grave, and Michael Chu has stated on twitter that there seems to be more going on with her than people thought.

It’s important to realize that in Reflections, neither Sombra nor Reaper are with Widowmaker - they’re both off doing their own things.

They may have no idea that her brainwashing is “wearing off” or that she is capable of thinking critically for herself.

All they know is that Talon’s “spider” was put into their group, possibly to try and catch them in her “web.”  They may not realize that they could potentially have a possible ally in her if they play their cards right.

But again, like I said last time -

It’s going to be very interesting to see where this Talon story goes.

Lance fic idea/headcanon

Langst warning!

So what if Lance goes missing one day. Like they were on a recon mission like when they were checking out the prison break or even the hidden Quintessence site and something goes wrong and Lance doesn’t make it back, but Blue does.

What if Blue showed them a video Lance made just in case something like this happened? A whole slew of personal video messages and requests for the individual crew members that make them realize all that Lance has done for them?

Things like that he…

I don’t wanna hijack @timeforlupsopinion‘s TAZ/AtLA AU post (Taako and Lup are scrappy earthbending orphan twins and also Lup finds out she’s the Avatar), but also I’m having a lot of Thoughts about it, so please take this instead:

-It’s an awful sort of tempting to have Lup disappear for a decade. She hasn’t been the Avatar for very long at all when she and Taako, maybe twelve or thirteen, stumble across what’s pretty much a Hei Bai situation, with an angry spirit terrorizing a village. Lup, too proud/scared/stubborn to ask for help, finds her way into the Spirit World.

It’s a very long time before she finds her way out again.

(Taako’s a bitter, suspicious adult who won’t cook anymore. At least he’s got a couple of “Lup for the love of god they are not my friends” with him, albeit weirdass ones.)

((Possibly, it wasn’t close to ten years for Lup. Possibly she’s still about twelve years old, but the whole world has moved on without her. Taako’s terribly protective and she understands, but also holy shit this is so annoying will you please let me set something on fire without making a big deal out of it-))

-BUT that’s terrible and sad, and even worse it limits my favorite commodity in stories, i.e. children who care about each other. So here’s an alternative:

Lup and Taako spend the story as lovable scrappy orphans who have to grow up and learn to trust people. They’re basically Kai from LoK, except with a much lower risk threshold because of Taako being as close an approximation to a good influence as he can be. There’s lots of adorable twin shenanigans, including “I saw the Avatar go that way!” “No, I definitely saw someone who looks just like her run the other direction!”

Magnus is a couple of years older than them, a nonbender from the Earth Kingdom who helps them out of a scrape one time. He finds out that Lup’s the Avatar in the process, and after that they just can’t shake him. Magnus hates bullies, and the Fire Nation seems like it’s full of nothing but. Team Avatar is the place to be if he really wants to make a difference.

(Ravens’ Roost is definitely from an episode in season one where Magnus gets passionate about the plight of this town suffering under the dictatorship of Governor Kalen, who was installed a few years ago by the Fire Nation. He gets a crush the size of the sun on Julia, a girl who’s running the local rebellion; in another life he would’ve stayed to help, but he’s too dedicated to his tiny team that’s gunna save the world, and she’s too dedicated to her tiny rebellion that’s so close to taking back their home. She ofc comes back up in later seasons, Suki-style.)

Merle is an airbending monk who finds Team Avatar shortly (an episode or two) after they pick up Magnus. Initially he approaches them to tell them the good news about finding balance with the spirits, and also when you kids are a little older I’ll tell you all about the benefits of really communing with nature, but they accidentally pull him into trouble and by the time everyone makes it out they’re hopelessly bonded. Merle doesn’t do “commitment,” but these kids aren’t exactly planning to stay in one place for very long, and… goddammit, they kind of need an adult around, don’t they? (He’s team dad, but he’s only good at it on purpose about a third of the time.)

Lucretia… hm, maybe the show is framed like it’s being read from her journals, records she kept of their adventures. She’s a waterbending prodigy they make friends with in season 2; Lup needs to pick up waterbending but can’t stay in one place long enough to learn much from any one teacher. Lucretia, about Magnus’s age, offers to travel with them in the wildest fit of courage and self-indulgent fancy she’s ever capitulated to. It’s hard, at times, and probably the best choice of her life.

Barry is a nonbending Air Nomad with a talent for both engineering and the spirit world. Merle tends to have a… capricious relationship with spirits in general, given his devil-may-care attitude towards “respecting” them, and if he understands the philosophy behind or application of what it means to be the bridge between the human and spirit world, he certainly isn’t straightforward about sharing it with Lup. Barry helps fill that gap, talking her through his education in spiritual matters and what it might mean for the actions she should take next. He also teaches both her and Taako things like math and how to use it to make stuff do what you want, include blow up. The twins are delighted, Barry is their new favorite. (Lup says that once and Barry’s face is red for a full day and a half.)

Davenport is the last member of Team Avatar to get recruited. He’s an ex-Fire Nation scientist and/or captain who defected so he could warn Lup about a devastating plan he’d until recently been a part of. He also offers to teach her firebending and, if they ever come to trust him enough, assist her in making tactical decisions. (He’s not one to judge, but… it looks as though Team Avatar could use the help.) Merle is immediately and violently offended at the thought of being replaced as Team Dad, and they butt heads over everything until they reconcile and become co-dads. This is at least in part because they’ve started kissing when the kids aren’t around.

This has been ~900 words on an AtlA AU that no one asked for! If you’ve got stuff to add/amend, please…. tell me. I love this

There’s a rich body of evidence that links chocolate to heart health.

Now comes a new study that finds people who consume small amounts of chocolate each week have a lower risk of developing atrial fibrillation, a heart condition characterized by a rapid or irregular heartbeat.

“The rate of atrial fibrillation was 20 percent lower for people consuming two to six servings [of chocolate] per week” compared with people who ate chocolate less than once per month, explains study author Elizabeth Mostofsky, an epidemiologist at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The findings are published in the journal BMJ Heart.

Eating Chocolate, A Little Each Week, May Lower The Risk Of A Heart Flutter

So, it’s world vegan day☘️
Here’s the argument that turned me to a vegan overnight about 3 years ago: if you think eating meat is a choice, you’ve forgotten to ask the creature you’re about to eat.
I don’t want to offend anyone who is consuming animal goods. But in my opinion, they have just fallen for the commercial propaganda weve been told from the day we’re born. Namely, that meat is good for you, and that a plant-based diet is unhealthy.
But now, think about eating meat. The meat is a MURDERED CORPSE- you can hardly deny that fact.
So, if eating meat is wrong (surprise), then what about milk and eggs?
Dairy good production involves a tremendous amount of suffering, exploitation and DEATH. Yes, drinking that glass of milk meant cows died and suffered for it.
The cow is not your mum. Hence, it is not your milk.
🐄🐖🐇🐥🐔
Even if you do not care for the animals (in which case you can be described as a “speciesist”- a term which was first coined by Richard Ryder to describe the discrimination between species, so the assignment of different rights and moral values based on the membership of another species) there are several other reasons to go vegan.
1) it cures world hunger- 70% of the global agricultural fields is used for the production of animal products. At the same time, the global meat consumption increased from 71 to approx. 295 Million tonnes between 1961 to 2011.
2) animal based diets kill rainforests- in order to breed animals for our consumption, an area of 325.000 km2 (about the size of Germany) is destroyed annually.
3) non-vegan products destroy our climate- the production of meat and dairy is responsible for the emission of more greenhouse gases (18%).
4) water- for every kilo of meat more water is wasted than for what we need to shower in a year.
5) it’s healthier- lower risk of developing diabetes type 2, CVDs, obesity, stroke, some cancers (like colon cancer), hypertension, Osteoporosis
🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
So rather than asking me why I’m vegan, ask yourself why you’re not!

I’ll Leave My Window Open: A Lumax Fic

Lucas returns from the movies with his family to find his bedroom door closed, which can only mean one thing: Max. He pauses to make sure Erica and his parents are still downstairs. Then, he taps twice on the door before quickly opening it, closing it behind him, and turning the lock.

“All clear,” he says, opening the closet to find his girlfriend sitting cross legged among the t-shirts and shoes he had thrown in haphazardly the last time his mom asked him to clean his room.

“Thank god, the smell was really getting to me,” Max jokes, kicking a sneaker across the closet.

“You okay?” asks Lucas.

“Yeah,” says Max as she walks over to his desk and picks up his copy of X-Men #166, presumably resuming the reading she had been doing before the Sinclairs came home.

“You want to talk about it?”
