Y/N would have never imagined the amount of attention being Harry’s best friend would bring. There’s also always speculations, suspicions that the two might be more than friends, given the fact that when they go out, it’s like they might as well be joined at the hip. Where Harry is on a day off, Y/N is sure to follow, and the paparazzi gets pictures of it all. But Y/N’s always been just a friend. It’s not like she trails behind him like a puppy, no. Harry just always loves having her around, finds comfort in the way she talks to him without a hint of glorification. Tracing back to the beginning of their friendship, Y/N didn’t tip toe around Harry, trying to make sure to not say the wrong thing, never really made impressing Harry a priority. And Harry really appreciated that.
And the relentless bother and questions of “are you two dating?” doesn’t end with the public, no, it continues, and probably gets more intense coming from their group of friends.
Whenever Y/N steps away from Harry’s side, there’s always one of the boys whispering to him about how they’re sure she’s got him wrapped around her pretty little finger. How at the call of his name, Harry never thinks twice about dropping everything and tending to her wants and needs. They make it sound awful in a way, as if Y/N is always needy of Harry and demanded his attention. But they don’t mean it like that really, just like bothering him about it, specially because he gets all worked up in trying to defend her.
They even comment about how they’ve taken notice to the fact Harry’s smile can stretch for miles at the mention of her name, which Harry has never denied. Only nods his head in amusement at the fact others notice.
And maybe their secret little escapes to what they refer to as “friend dates” are no help. They’ll be having a night in on the sofa, Harry sat at the edge of it, elbow propped on the arm rest, mindlessly scrolling through texts and thumbs swift on the screen, typing replies to friends. And obviously Y/N’s with him, lying down and feet resting on his lap, her head flat on the cushion, eyes shut because she quite enjoys just lying about in a silent room, knowing Harry’s there. And it’s not until he shuffles to stand up, pushing her legs off him in the process, that she opens her eyes and follows his body across the room where he doubles over to slip on his YSL boots before he goes for his coat. With a small whisper of “ye’ comin’?” Y/N is sure to follow his steps. Most nights like that they end up in some random bar or restaurant, sat on a stool or a booth, laughing and eating. Harry will often opt to sit next to her rather than in front, taking the chance to lay his head on her shoulder. Even kiss at her neck sometimes.
And when the boys catch a glimpse of the paparazzi photos taken of them all cuddly on a random Tuesday night at a local cafe, Harry’s phone just about overloads with texts from Niall going on about “I knew it!” And “just ask her, man!”
So no, it’s not out of the ordinary for Louis to make a ‘wuh-PSSSH’ sound followed by something snarky like “so whipped, mate. And she’s not even ye’ girlfriend,” when he notices Harry’s stare trailing to where Y/N goes as she makes breakfast for the lot. Harry tries to disregard the comment as Louis takes a seat next to him at the kitchen island.
“What’re you guys going on about over there?” Y/N asks, giggling to herself, “got Harry blushing and all.”
And of course with no chill what so ever, Liam pats Harry on the back, a devilish smile playing on his lips, “Harry here has found himself head over heels.”
Y/N can’t deny that her heart sinks a little at that, but she doesn’t let it faze her, or at least she doesn’t show it. “Really?? Oh who is she??”
“Yeah, Harry! Tell our lovely Y/N who’s the lucky woman!” Harry would hope Niall would be the one not to indulge in his current tormenting.
But Harry can only look at Y/N, her eyes locked on his from across the room. And Harry swears he’s never seen her look at him the way she is right now.
And the boys don’t mean to over tease him this time, just wish he’d finally let it out and tell her because they’re rather sure Y/N feels the same. It’s hard not to notice the way she looks at him, eyes full of adoration and dare they say, love.
When the air has fallen silent for far too long, Liam decides to change the subject for Harry’s sake and stands up to give Y/N a hand with the pouring of the beverages.
“You two have gotten to the point where you grocery shop together.” Liam starts again when Y/N steps away for more milk, “you cook together. You do laundry together. You’re always going on dates. You go with her for manis and pedis, and I’m sure you enjoy it, too.”
“So wha’?? I like spendin’ time with her.” Harry doesn’t really see why that’s so bad, being whipped and all.
“You sleep together,” Louis chimes in, “hell, wouldn’t be surprised if you showered together.”
Now that’s just nonsense.
“Sod off ye’ prick.”
It’s been a few weeks since the day Y/N found out Harry’s interested in someone. And she’d be lying if she said it doesn’t keep her awake at night. Awake while she’s lying next to Harry because of the fact that they’d much rather sleep together than alone. But when she looks over at him, she can’t help but smile.
She’s lying on her side, eyes tracing his, rid of any wrinkles they get when he smiles or frowns. They trace all of him. From his eyes to his eyebrows, then his cheeks and to his nose, where she kisses lightly, careful not to wake him. He only crinkles it for a short second, to which she only smiles. Her eyes linger down his neck, tracing every muscle and crevice until she’s looking at the tattoos on his chest, the steady rise and fall of it has her breathing adapting to his.
It’s when she looks at his parted bubble gum pink lips that she raises a hand, her index finger ghosting over his bottom lip. The touch has Harry stirring, eyes open for a moment before he puckers his lips to peck her finger, a smile on his face. He flutters his eyes shut for a second before resting his hand on her waist and rubbing his thumb gently on the exposed skin. He moans in content, pulls her body closer to his and rests his lips on her hair line.
“Go t'sleep, pet.”
And why oh why did she ever think some friendly flirting and bed sharing with her best friend could never lead to any emotional attachment.
The cuddles hasn’t stopped. Harry’s lingering kisses and hugs hasn’t stopped. The boys teasing on Harry behind Y/N’s back hasn’t stopped. Y/N sleeping in Harry’s bed hasn’t stopped. And Y/N’s constant self reminder that Harry might just be in love with someone else has not stopped.
If she’s being quite honest, she’s not liking the way the boys snicker and whisper to Harry when she walks off. And she really doesn’t like how whatever and whoever they’re whispering about is making Harry blush and smile sheepishly like crazy. Wishes she knew what they’re always being so secretive about. But giving it a second thought, maybe she doesn’t wanna know. It’s all the same to her now though.
The movie on the telly doesn’t seem to distract her anymore, not from her thoughts which are taking over her mind the more time she spends in Harry’s home. And to add to that, the second she steps back into the room with a bowl of popcorn the boys go silent. It makes her feel awful…left out, but she’s sure they don’t mean to do it. She should be thankful right? At least they’re nice enough not to talk about Harry’s girl in front of her, or maybe that’s just something she wants to believe.
“Oh popcorn.” Niall’s first to reach out and grab a handful before she’s even had the chance to get to her seat next to Harry.
“Thanks, love.” Harry whispers, kissing her cheek the second she sits down.
She notices out of the corner of her eye how Louis smirks and nods his head when Harry wraps his arm around her shoulder. What’s so funny??
The moment Harry presses another kiss to the top of her head is the moment she realizes she’s had enough. It’s the moment she realizes she can’t keep pretending and letting herself fall even more. Not after what Liam said.
“I have to go. It’s getting pretty late.” This catches everyone off guard, especially Harry.
When she stands up to leave, his fingers around her wrist are quick to make her stop and have her look down at him, still sat on the sofa. “Wha’ do ye’ mean? Ye’ always spend the night, poppet.”
His brows are furrowed now, grip tight on her wrist, fearing that if he loosens it she might just slip away.
Of course they can’t ignore the other people in the room though, so when Y/N’s eyes avert to the boys, Harry is quick to stand up and lead them away.
“Everythin’ a'right?” His eyes scan hers for answers, his hand now cupping her neck, thumb rubbing soothingly at her jaw.
The cool of his rings on her skin keep her at ease. But the uncertainty in her eyes has Harry feeling all types of useless.
“Tell me wha’s wrong, little one. Wha’ can I do to make ye’ feel better?”
And those words would have made no sense if it wasn’t for the sudden feeling of Harry wiping away a stray tear she didn’t notice she’d shed.
She can’t. She can’t break down. Not in front of him. What can she say for him to let her go??
“Nothing’s wrong, Harry.”
But she’s sure he doesn’t believe her, not one bit. He knows her too well.
And she can tell he’s about to say something else, and she knows if she lets him, she’s sure to fall back into whatever they have.
“I’ve really got to go. I’ve got a date in an hour and I have to go get ready.”
As much bullshit of an excuse as that is, Harry’s grip on her wrist loosens, and the hand on her neck falls.
And she takes the opportunity to slip out the door.
Summary: When a need arises, Steve and Bucky on a whim lie about their sexuality to you. Unbeknownst of their purpose you let them stay with you, in your apartment. But what happens when they start falling for you? And what will be the outcome of their harmless tall tale?
NOTE: Pure Filth. Turn back now if you don’t want to see. Turning Tae Tae into my Fuck Puppy (Thanks Anon). Soft femdom. Let me tell you, it was an EXPERIENCE writing this, and I am still not perfectly pleased with it. Mostly because I’m never happy with my own smut writing. I had to do so much research, so google probably thinks I’m freaky naughty af. Which I suppose I am considering I wrote this lol. So, for those that are hardcore into this and think I didn’t portray it well enough, I’m sorry, I tried. And I learned quite a bit about myself, like the fact that if I ever get my hands on someone like Tae, I am so going to try this. Now enjoy, and excuse me as I go drench myself in holy water to cleanse myself of sin.
“You know, I hate the winter. It reminds me of your cold heart.”
My now ex-boyfriend mutters this line, looking into the snowy sky.
He sighs loudly and saunters off, without looking back. What a
fucking drama queen. I can’t help but snort as I watch him
disappear into the light snowfall, and wonder what movie he got that
I don’t have a cold heart. He was just a damn bore. He never
wanted to do anything but watch movies, and freaked out if I
suggested anything besides missionary. I’ve been thinking about
breaking up with him for weeks now, but was putting it off because I
knew he’d cry. This saved me all the hassle.
keith and allura + growing stronger by letting go of the past
since i have yet to find another post that goes into detail about just how much keith’s arc in ‘the blade of marmora’ and allura’s arc in ‘crystal venom’ parallel one another, i went ahead and did the thing myself !! i find it both curious and kinda enchanting how alike keith and allura are in so many respects. realizing these similarities while re-watching the show was far too riveting not to share my thoughts, so here they are ^^
FP Jones/Andrews Family/Riverdale imagines - Oh Dear Part 1
AN: It’s so awkward when nearly the whole fandom is in love with the teenage boys on the show and I’m over here obsessing over the DILFs and the girls of the show. So I wrote this to see who else adores the daddies of Riverdale. This will be a series so stick around for more if you love this serpent as much as I.
Summary: You’re Archie’s old sister and you have a thing for a certain serpent
Pairing: Reader x FP Jones, Sister!Reader x Archie Andrews, Daughter!Reader x Fred Andrews
Word count: 1,967
Warnings: Well, FP is clearly older than the reader in this fic, none really
It all started when you were younger. Jughead’s Dad came over one night to talk to Jughead. Jughead was round for a sleepover with your younger brother Archie and FP came round because he had some news, about what, you didn’t know. But what you did know was in that moment you realised you were utterly attracted to your younger brother’s best friend’s Dad. That was the moment you knew you were screwed.
Hello! Can I make a request? I saw somebody else do this & i couldn't help requesting it here because I love your writing! RFA + V & Saeran 7 minutes in heaven? Huehuehue 🌚
This might be a little self indulgent. Also, I’m assuming this is a spin the bottle type game? Or it is now in this hc post.
- His huge ass grin when the bottle landed on you and everyone else’s groans made your face completely red, but you followed him along in the closet anyway.
- I mean…He was a gentlemen, right?
- As soon as the door closed, you were pinned against the wall, blushing furiously as he leaned down to whisper in your ear
- “We don’t have to go too far, princess, but I would love to kiss you.”
- “I- Okay. Yeah, okay.”
- Part of you couldn’t believe he was asking you permission, but it was nice he was willing to at least make sure you were okay with this.
- It was sweet at first- He tipped your chin up, lightly brushed his lips against yours before placing a soft kiss on you.
- But as you kissed him back, it just got deeper and deeper.
- Soon you had your body flush against him, feeling his half-hard cock against your thigh as you slipped your tongue in between his lips, teasing him with a light nip on his bottom lip
- You even managed to get him to let out a low groan that sent a fast shot of nerves right to your crotch.
- “Whoa whoa whoa, break it up you two.”
- Seven had opened the door while the two of you were, erm, busy. Zen instantly pulled away, a light blush on his cheeks as he cleared his throat.
- You could see Yoosung moping and Jumin looking pissed in the background, Seven just waggling his eyebrows at the two of you.
- Part of you wanted to smack him for being so dumb, but you ended up stepping out and instantly pulling your phone out.
- As the bottle spinned again, you saw Zen pull his own phone out and that blush deepen at the message you had sent him
- Like hell you were going to let just seven minutes be the end of it.
- He was so smug when you were chosen to go in with him. Zen was yelling and trying to make excuses for you to not go in with the ‘trust fund jerk’, but when you told him to hush, you almost made Jumin grin as Zen nearly lost it
- He let you step in first, closing the door behind the two of you. Before you could even have a coherent thought about the situation, he had you pulled to him and his lips greedily on yours.
- When you made a surprised noise, he pulled back a bit.
- “Is this what were supposed to do?”
- “W-Well, yes-”
- “Good, we only have a few minutes.”
- He started kissing you again, nipping your lips and starting to kiss down your neck as his hand slipped under the band of your pants-
- “Jumin!” You scolded him instantly, clutching his forearm as his middle finger slipped in between your legs and started teasing your clit
- “We have a few more minute-”
- You let out a gasp as a shudder ran through your body. How in the hell was he so stoic through all of this?
- You felt his breath against your neck as he attempted to say something else, but the door opened before he could.
- “Bzzt, times- Oooohoho shit.”
- Jumin just reached for the door handle, pulling it closed and holding it as Seven and the others started a fuss
- You ended up laughing, finally finding it in you to pull his hand out of your pants, giving him one last peck on the cheek.
- You nearly joined everyone in a groan when the bottle landed on him as he let out a doofy grin
- But, you smiled as you joined him in the closet. Yes, he was basically a living meme, but he was sweet and cute, too.
- The door closed, and you could hear how nervous he was in the little laugh he let out
- “So, Mc, whatcha going to do now?”
- You rolled your eyes, but pulled him a bit closer to you and planted a kiss on his cheek
- Okay, you missed a bit in the dark and felt your nose hit the frame of his glasses, but you kissed his face and counted that as a win
- He laughed a bit, cupping your face in his hands and managing to meet your lips with his own. Nothing hardcore, just a sweet and gentle kiss.
- “Have I told you how soft you are, mc?”
- “… I would find a better way to word that, Seven.”
- “Softer than our precious Elly~”
- You felt his breath against your lips as he chuckled before kissing you again, letting it last a bit longer
- Even though he was such a dork, his kisses were so sweet and careful.
- You returned his kiss, and soon the two of you were starting a string of soft kisses.
- … Until the door flew open with a stern Zen interrupting the two of you.
- “Alright, alright, it’s been seven minutes!”
_” Oh, you misunderstood the name of the game, Zen. It’s minutes with Seven, so there’s not a time-”
- The two of you laughed, but you both left the closet. Though, you made sure to grab his hand and make him sit next to you afterwards.
- As soon as the two of you were shoved in the closet, you could just imagine how stiff she was due to nerves
- (Was she going to kill Seven? Yes. Right when she got out? Yes.)
- She certainly wasn’t going to do anything, but that didn’t mean you weren’t going to
- Carefully, you slipped a hand in hers. When she gave your hand a squeeze back, you slipped your other around her neck, pulling her closer to you and giving her a soft kiss on her lips.
- She froze, but after a few more soft pecks, she started returning them.
- It was awkward, clumsy due to the dark, but after a bit you pulled away and giggled, still holding onto her hand
- “M-Mc, you didn’t have to-”
- “You’re too cute, I wanted you to relax a bit.”
- She clammed up, but you knew she was blushing.
- The two of you ended up just holding hands for a bit longer, and then Seven slammed open the door with a loud “BZZT!”
- (Seven may or may not have gotten socked right in the gut)
- When the bottle landed on you, Yoosung turned such a bright red. Seven pushed the both of you towards the closet, and once you got in Yoosung was rigid with nerves.
- “Mc, you don’t-”
- “Shh, it’s fine, Yoosung.”
- Your hands found his, and you could nearly feel the heat radiating off his cheeks
- Apparently the both of you moved to kiss at the same time, resulting in the two of you bumping noses. You pulled back and giggled, Yoosung letting out a shy little laugh in return
- You cupped his cheeks, pulling him towards you more carefully now, planting a soft but decent kiss on his lips.
- He clumsily returned it, his hands finding your hips and pulling you a bit closer.
- After a few kisses, he was starting to get the hang of it a bit, but he froze with a small yelp as you nipped at his bottom lip
- (Okay, might have moved a bit too fast there)
- He pulled back a bit, his hands leaving your hips.
- “W-Was that okay?”
- Your hand found his and gave it a squeeze. “Yeah, that was good.”
- “I haven’t really…You know.”
- “That’s okay, I mean we can always practice.”
- When Seven opened the door, you got to see how red Yoosung’s face had gotten from that, and it was hard not to giggle.
- No one really objected when the two of you were going in the closet. Not even Yoosung, but he did look a tad grumpy
- V, however, was blushing like mad. As soon as the door closed, he was going on and on. “Mc, you don’t have to do anything, it’s alright, don’t feel pressured. We can just talk.”
- You ignored his anxious ramblings, slipping to your knees, lifting his shirt up a bit, and placing a kiss right above the waistband of his pants.
- He let out a soft gasp, instantly covering his mouth. You could tell he wanted to say more, to insist that you didn’t have to do a thing, but you’d be damned if you weren’t going to continue.
- A few teasing nips and you unzipped his pants, pulling them down enough to slip his half-hard cock from his boxers. You felt a blush creep up to your cheeks with the realization you were going to finally give this man a blowjob, but you shook it off, giving his cock a few pumps to get it to stand at full attention
- He let out a strangled and low moan, trying his best to keep quiet. You could hear him start to whimper your name, but you didn’t give him a chance to finish before you slipped the head of his cock in your mouth
- You knew you were running short on time, but you were desperate in making this feel amazing for him. When was the last time he was able to fully relax?
- You started pumping your hand along his length as you bobbed your head, sucking on his tip and loving his free hand wrapped desperately in your hair
- You could feel him straining to stop himself from thrusting into your mouth, so you let your hands rest and hold his hips as you finally took him fully in.
- God the sound he made
- It didn’t take long for you to taste a hot and salty liquid in your mouth, his nails digging into your scalp as he struggled to keep his groans quiet enough. When his grip loosened, you teasingly and slowly pulled his cock out of your mouth, loving the little whimper he let out.
- You stood up as he quickly pulled his pants back up, both of you thankful he was able to right before Seven pulled the door open with an annoying sound
- You just smiled and left the closet, V still leaning against the wall with a stunned blush on his cheeks
- As soon as the two of you were in the closet, he had you pinned, your chest flush against the wall.
- “Do you think we could sneak a quickie?” He teased, his hands already fumbling with your pants as he grinded against your ass
- Sure, the two of you may or may not have been seeing each other in secret… And you might have been teasing him through text during Seven’s silly RFA afterparty….
- But you weren’t expecting him to already be raring to go, jfc
- You bit your lip as he tugged your panties down, his lips teasing at your sensitive neck.
- “Try to stay quiet.”
- You didn’t get a chance to respond before he slipped the head of his cock between your wet folds, rubbing it against your clit before finally moving back a tad and pushing inside you
- You started to let out a groan before moving clamping a hand over your mouth
- Saeran wasted no time in trying to get you to come as quickly and as hard as possible. One hand kept your hip in place as the other reached around to rub your clit. The two of you didn’t have long befor-
- As quickly as the door had opened, you only caught a glimpse of a surprised Seven before the door was slammed shut.
- Saeran only paused for a moment, a bit surprised at how fast seven minutes had came and gone, but he wasted no time in starting his pace back up
- Guess the two of you had all the time you needed, now.
I’ve gotten some asks for this and I’ll try to answer this here:
After ACOMAF, I’ll admit I was riding the Elucien mate bandwagon, because the idea of them together and mated seemed cute. But that’s all they were: an idea.
I’d hoped Maas would give us some real Elucien interaction to work with in ACOWAR, had hoped for it, but the reality of it was there wasn’t much.
The broken Elain wasn’t something anyone planned for. In most fanfics and headcannons I read, she accepted her immortality and was content finding Lucien and discovering the bond between them.
But what Maas gave us was a broken girl unsure of reality and dreams. A girl unable to let go of the fiancé she left behind. A girl who struggled to be seen compared to her other “stronger” sisters.
I still had hope that Elucien would pull through. I imagined Lucien sneaking into Elain’s room to talk to her (without Nesta knowing) or him watching her as she walked around the house, staying away from her but failing. We got none of that. When Elain finally talks with Lucien, she asks him if he noticed her, Lucien didn’t say he did.
The only interaction of importance between them (imo) was the eye contact they made before Lucien went to find Vassa. That was when they both truly connected. Besides that, there wasn’t much to work with, though Lucien trying to connect with her and help “cure” her was really cute.
Not compared to the Elriel interactions (which included Azriel risking his life to rescue her, Elain saying to him “You came for me”, Elain kissing his cheek as ‘thank you’, and him giving her his weapon that he has never let anyone else touch). Azriel was also the one who watched her enough to realize she was a seer.
More importantly, he was the one to ask about where Elain was when the cauldron took her, and helped everyone to realize that she had been taken. He noticed she was missing when no one else did.
So, while the idea of Elucien is a nice one (imagine Elain making Lucien flower crowns), it isn’t the reality SJ Maas wrote.
The reality is that Azriel quite possibly could be the love Elain needs (even if he isn’t her “mate”) and Elain could be the woman to show Azriel what real love could be like, not 500 years of unrequited love. (Side note: his shadows disappear when she’s around, something that used to only happen when he’s around Mor).
I’ve heard the argument that Elriel will never be as good as Elucien because they aren’t mates, but SJ Maas has said again and again that even if you’re mates, it doesn’t mean you have an Earth-shattering love. The mating bond hasn’t come in for Nessian yet, and there may be a chance that they aren’t mates (tho it’d be nice if they were mates) but people (including me) ship them all the same.
And Elriel could honestly be as great a couple as Nessian or Feysand if everyone would give them a chance.
Alright guys, here is the first chunk of that Gaston x Reader fic that I posted about a few nights ago. I’ve never written a Reader fic, haha. But I’ve had this idea ever since seeing the movie the first time and I suggested it to other writers but I’m impatient so here it is. I also feel like I should thank @sannvers for editing it and telling me “YO THIS PART IS WEIRD FIX IT”, so thanks.
Title: Second Chance
Pairing: Eventual Gaston x Fem!Reader
Summary:You try to stop Gaston from shooting the Beast and falling to his death, but you arrive too late to save him. As you sit there, sobbing, the Enchantress offers you a second chance to save him.
Plot: Jimin cheats on you, because he’s too drunk, and you broke up with him.

For anon, I hope you like it! - M.

The happy barking of your dog was the best welcome after a long and tiring day of study and work. You laid the purse and the keys on the cupboard near the entrance and you were ready to head to the bathroom to relax a little when strange noises from your bedroom made you block completely.
Immediately your heart began to beat at an abnormal rate because they were little misunderstanding sounds and immediately understood what was going on in that room.
Your hands began to tremble and in small steps you began to walk towards your room, finally reaching the door. Yet you couldn’t open it, you were scared to death to see what, or rather who, was in it. But your hopes were destroyed shortly after because the female voice screamed that name, the name you hoped to never hear, and with your hopes, even your heart broke completely.
Your brain allowed you not to hurt yourself and trying to remain silent you turned and left the house looking for a possible refuge to spend those hours.
You never thought that Jimin could cheat you. After a year of relationship by now you thought you were perfect together, he was so considerate to you and he always tried to show you how much he loved you. You had so hard to trust him, because of your past experiences, that that seemed like a joke to you because it felt impossible that he really did.
Walking through the streets of Seoul you didn’t cry, because there were too many people who could see you, stopping in a kiosk and starting to drink in solitary. You never liked alcohol, but at that moment you just wanted to anesthetize a little the pain your felt into your heart.
Summary: In which the building owner blackmails you into going on a date with his nephew… who turns out to be really cute???
Word Count: 3521
A/N: I feel like this title sounds kinda angsty, but I promise that this story is 100% fluff. I had a really good nap the other day, and from this nap, this lil scenario arose so.. yeah, hope you enjoy! :D Feel free to request!
Omg this scenario took so much longer to write than I expected, and it ended up so much longer than I thought it would oh ma lawwwwd. Well, I love Mark Lee, and hope you like this :)
“And here… is the kitchen! What do you think?”
You beamed at your brother, finding it cute how excited he was about the apartment. “It’s great bro, I’m so happy for you.”
He laughed and said, “Well, don’t be too happy yet. We still have to actually sign all the paperwork. There’s another person apparently coming down to look at it later, so fingers crossed they hate it!”
You couldn’t help but chuckle at his statement, and just as you were preparing a sarcastic comment to respond with, there was a knock at the door. You looked towards your brother, questioningly, to which he responded, “That’s probably the building owner.”
Your brother went to answer the front door, and you followed behind, low-key smoothing your shirt down, wanting to make a good first impression that could hopefully help your brother get the place. He greeted the owner, whose name seemed to be Minjoon, before introducing the two of you. You made sure to be extra nice, remembering all your manners and laughing at all the terrible jokes he made.
One thing you found out about Minjoon was that he really, really liked to talk. Each time you tried to push the conversation towards the direction of the contracts, Minjoon remembered another story that he just had to tell. You were getting used to his constant talking about himself, so needless to say, you were a little surprised when he asked you what grade you were in. “I’m a senior in high school,” you replied. He nodded thoughtfully, then sat up straighter, a much more serious look on his face.
“Here’s the thing, I like you guys. I really want to be able to give this apartment to you. However, I already told this person that he could take a look at this house. Since he is willing to pay me more for it, if he says yes to this place, he takes priority.”
Your brother chewed at his bottom lip, concern clearly painted over his features. You knew how much he wanted to finally move out of your parents’ basement, and he was really hopeful about this apartment. You let out a nervous breath as Minjoon continued:
“However, I think there’s a way that we can make that all.. go away.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, I have a nephew who is around Y/N’s age––sweet kid, a big looker––and I would like for her to go on a date with him. I’ve been bugging him about getting more involved with the ladies, but he keeps avoiding the topic. If not a date, he’s got to at least have some female friends.”
You couldn’t help but gape at the suggestion, disbelief flooding your body. Before you could respond, your brother stated “I’m sorry, but I really don’t believe my sister would feel comfortable with that situation.” You smiled at him gratefully, looking back at Minjoon to see what he would say.
“It seems I did not make myself clear. If Y/N does not go on a date with my nephew, you have no chance of getting this apartment.”
“I guess I’m not get––”
“I’ll do it.”
Your brother’s head whipped towards you, shocked at your sudden outburst. You gave him a reassuring smile, and whispered, “Don’t worry, it’s just one date.”
Needless to say, Minjoon was very happy. He gave you all of his nephew’s contact information, and told you when and where to meet him. Before you left, he reminded you that your brother’s apartment was still in his hands, and that if you did not show up to the date, your brother could say goodbye to any chance of getting an apartment any time soon.
As you left the complex, you turned towards your brother, who had been thanking you ever since you walked out the apartment door.
“You owe me bro.”
You stood outside the small cafe, nervously fidgeting with your hands. You felt terrible for judging before you met the guy, but the fact that his uncle had to blackmail you into going out with him had you a little worried. You took a deep breath before finally walking in, looking around the busy cafe for any sign of someone who was waiting for you. It took a while before you realized that he didn’t know what you looked like either, so you took out your phone and shot him a text.
You: Hello? ???: Hi… You: Um… I’m Y/N, the girl who you’re uncle wanted you to meet… ???: Oh, I’m really sorry about that. Are you here? You: Yeah, I’m at the front of the cafe.
Your eyes roamed around the room thoroughly, wondering which one of these customers would be the one you were meeting today. You chewed at your lip, your nerves taking over as you thought about what, or who, rather, was in store for you.
???: Look to your left.
Your head flew to the side, the sick feeling of anticipation growing in your stomach. You had no idea what to expect, and that was kind of scary for you. However, when your eyes landed on the blonde-haired boy in the glasses and the pink hoodie who was waving at you, you were more surprised than anything else.
He was cute. Scratch that, he was really cute. You walked over to him slowly, almost doubting that this was the person you were supposed to meet. He stood up as you got closer, giving you a bow that you returned. He motioned for you to sit across from him, and a moment of awkward silence passed between the two of you. Not being able to take it anymore, he tried to start a conversation.
“Um.. I’m going to be honest, I didn’t think you were going to show up today.”
You smiled, “Well, I’m a pretty good sister, so I’m trying to do whatever I can to get my brother into that apartment.”
He winced a bit at your statement, then moved his hand to rub the back of his neck sheepishly, “yeah, I’m really sorry about that. My uncle can be really crazy sometimes. This is not the first time he’s blackmailed someone into going on a date with me. I keep telling him to stop, but he won’t listen to me…”
You laughed, thankful that the awkward atmosphere was gone.
“By the way, I didn’t catch your name.”
“Oops, my bad. My name’s Mark… Mark Lee.”
“Well Mark, if you don’t mind me asking… why does your uncle feel the need to get dates for you? You definitely could get them yourself if you tried.”
Your hand flew to your mouth as your face flushed, shocked that you had let the compliment slip from your lips. His face too turned a rosy pink as he looked down at his clasped hands in embarrassment.
“Thank you for that, but it’s not because I can’t get dates… it’s because I don’t want to.”
Your eyebrow quirked up teasingly at his statement, questioning how he phrased his sentence. He responded by widening his eyes and shaking his head and hands rapidly before justifying himself:
“No! That’s not what I meant! I just meant that I’m not interested in dating any of the girls from my school!”
You couldn’t contain your laughter anymore as you watched the flustered boy struggle to find the right words. He was a little surprised at your sudden outburst, but soon realized that you were simply messing with him.
When you finally calmed down, you faced him again, genuine curiousity on your face:
“Why aren’t you interested in dating girls from your school?”
“Well, the girls from my school are all really rich and preppy… They always act like they’re entitled to everything, and that’s something that I just can’t stand.”
You nodded your head in understanding before asking another question: “I get that there are some people like that…all the girls though?”
He nodded, “In freshman year, there were still people who were nice and humble, but as we got older, more and more people started to become assholes.”
You broke out in a smile at his choice of words, and you could’ve sworn you saw a tinge of red on his cheeks. After a short moment, he cleared his throat and spoke again: “So do you want something to drink? My treat since my uncle basically forced you to come here.”
“Iced tea is fine, thanks, but I’m paying next time.”
He furrowed his brows, confusion written on his face, “Next time?”
You smiled at his CUTE reaction, “Yes, next time. You’re pretty okay Mark Lee, I think we’d be good friends.“
This time, you could clearly see the red on his cheeks. After a quick, “I’d like that,” he ran off to pay for the drinks, leaving you with an amused smile on your face.
“Yo, yo, yo, Mark Lee!” you yelled out playfully as he walked over to your table. He rolled his eyes at your loud greeting before sitting down across from you.
After your—surprisingly successful—date with him a few months back, the two of you became inseparable. His uncle was happy, which meant your brother was happy, which meant you were happy, and luckily, you had gained a new friend along the way. Mark Lee was literally the best friend you ever had: he was sweet, caring, funny, a little crazy, and most of all, he knew exactly what to do whenever you were stressed or sad or angry about something. So, it wasn’t too much of a surprise when you found yourself growing fond of the boy, developing more than just platonic feelings for him and his goofy smile. You felt your heartbeat quicken whenever he slung his arm around your shoulder and your breath caught in your throat whenever he laughed. It was really stressing you out, and Mark, being Mark, could totally tell.
You shook your head and blinked before finally responding, “Huh?”
Mark chuckled before pressing a finger against your head and giving it a light push.
“You zoned out dumbass. You’ve been really out of it lately…are you sure you’re okay?”
You nodded unconvincingly. The problem with Mark being your best friend was that you had no one else to go to to talk about your problems. That meant you had to keep everything bottled up inside, which you weren’t very good at dealing with, and that made you even more stressed out, and well… it just wasn’t great for you. So you decided to try to relieve some of your stress by striking up “theoretical” situations with Mark in hopes that his obliviousness—Thank God for that—would keep him from figuring out you were actually talking about you.
“Actually… well I’ve got a classmate in my homeroom and she’s been talking to me about a problem she’s been having…” you began.
Mark nodded, encouraging you to continue.
“It’s this classmate she has… they’ve been getting to be super close friends, and she’s starting to develop some more-than-friends feelings, if you know what I mean… And well, she’s so stressed out about it that it’s got me stressed out. What do you think I should tell her?”
You bit your lip, awaiting his answer. He hummed thoughtfully before responding: “Well, what’s keeping her from telling him?”
“She doesn’t want to ruin their friendship. They’ve got a good thing going right now.”
“Ah, I see. Well, that’s totally understandable, but if she really likes him, shouldn’t see tell him? He might like her too!” Mark beamed.
His bright optimism was so infectious that you found yourself smiling too. Unfortunately, if also caused you to realize that if your confession caused you to lose him, you wouldn’t be able to live. You needed Mark in your life, so you selfishly kept your feelings to yourself.
“Thanks Mark, I’ll tell her…”
“I’ll get it!” you screamed when the doorbell rang. You rushed downstairs, expecting the package you ordered a week ago, but instead, you found Mark Lee. Unable to contain your disappointment, you let a small pout form on you face as you moved aside to let him in.
“Yeah, and you don’t seem too happy about it.”
You shook your head before smiling brightly at him, “Sorry, I was just expecting my package to come today. But instead I got you,” you teased.
Mark stuck his tongue out at you before replying, “You love me.”
You laughed bitterly at his statement, him not knowing just how true it was. Just as the two of you were about to make your way upstairs, your parents came in the room.
“Mark!” They exclaimed excitedly. Ever since the two of you became friends, your parents have loved Mark. They thought he was incredibly kind and sweet, and they were right about that. They actually often told you how perfect of a boyfriend he would be, and would drop hints whenever he was around to embarrass you. It was terrible.
“Hi Mr. and Mrs. Y/L/N!”
“Well, you just keep getting more and more handsome every time I see you, doesn’t he Y/N?” your mother questioned.
“Mom~” you whined, your cheeks flushing a light pink.
“Okay, okay, well you kids have fun alright? We’ll be gone until tomorrow afternoon, so make sure you guys eat your meals and stay safe!”
You gave both of your parents quick hugs and kisses goodbye before dragging Mark up the stairs to your room. You jumped on the bed as soon as you entered, and Mark followed in suit after placing his bag in the corner of the room.
“So, what movie do you want to watch today?” you asked, having no clue yourself. After comfortably adjusting himself against the headboard, Mark simply shrugged, to which you responded with a light snort.
“I guess we’re scrolling through Netflix.”
After a good 20 minutes of browsing and being totally indecisive, you guys settled on watching “The BFG,” bringing both of you back to your childhood. Watching movies with Mark was basically just an excuse for the two of you to cuddle. He laid propped up against the pillows on your bed, and you snuggled close to him, head on his chest and his arm around your shoulders. It was a position perfectly comfortable for the both of you, but recently, it’s been difficult for you to just focus on the movies you watched. You could hear his heart beating steadily against his chest, and his slow, systematic breathing. You could feel his warmth against your cheek and smell the scent of his cologne off his shirt. You were completely encapsulated with thoughts of him that you didn’t even notice when your eyelids started fluttering close.
You woke up tangled up with Mark, closer than either of you had even been before. The two of you had fallen asleep together, something that you’d never done before, and during the night, you apparently did some serious cuddling. Your face was pressed in his neck, your lips just centimeters away from his collarbone. His chin rested on top of your head and his arms circled your waist, one hand resting on the small of your back and the other on your hip. Your own arms were wound around his waist, your hands coming into contact with his bare back, where his shirt had ridden up. Your bare legs were tangled between his, and you swore your body was on fire. When you finally had the courage to move, you looked up at his face only to find him dangerously close––and awake. He smiled smugly at you before whispering in his hoarse morning voice, “Morning, beautiful.”
You immediately felt your face heat up, and you quickly untangled yourself from him.
“I’m going to wash up,” you stated quickly, before walking to the bathroom and splashing cold water on your face.
Tears streamed down your cheek as you watched the last of the sun disappear along the horizon. Earlier that day, you had found out that your parents had gotten into a car crash, and your dad was still unconscious in the hospital. Your mom was recovering, so the doctors said that you couldn’t visit her until tomorrow. How could everything have gone so wrong so quickly?
Lost in your own thoughts, you didn’t notice a figure taking a seat beside you. He scooted closer to you until your shoulders were touching, and only then did you look up. Well, you could’ve guessed who it was: Mark Lee. As soon as your eyes met his, you broke down, grabbing fistfuls of his shirt and sobbing into his shoulder. He met you with open arms and placed gentle, reassuring kisses to the top of your head.
You don’t know how long you cried, but when you started getting dehydrated, Mark took you bye the hand and pulled you toward your house.
He gave you water and made you food, and he didn’t get upset or frustrated when you told him you weren’t hungry. He brought you upstairs and let you lay your head on his chest again, and you stayed their until you fell asleep, with him gently stroking your hair and humming sweet songs to you.
That was the day that you realized you really could not accept just being friends with Mark anymore.
A few days after Mark comforted you, your father woke up, leaving you happy and relieved. You spent all your free time visiting your parents, tending to their every need and making sure they were comfortable. That meant that for the past few days, you didn’t really get to see Mark, and you were starting to miss him a lot. You had already decided that you were going to confess to him, but you just didn’t know when.
When you mother and father were finally discharged from the hospital, you decided that it was time for you to face your fears and talk to Mark about your feelings.
You: Hey Mork Leeeeeee~~ Mork: Hey! Look whose alive :P You: Haha, very funny Mork: But seriously, how are your parents doing? You: Much better, thanks, they’re finally home, and the doctors cleared them for daily activity, so that’s a relief. Mork: Yes it is.. listen, if it’s okay with you, can we hang out today? You: Oh, did Markie-poo miss me? Mark: Yes I did, you dork. Now, meet you at the café in half an hour? You: See you there.
You took a deep breath. I guess this is it…
As you waited in front of the café, you remembered the first time that you stood there. You were even more nervous now than you were then. How in the hell were you going to do this? While you were in the midst of convincing yourself to turn around, run away, and never look back again, your phone rang, waking you up from your thoughts. It was Mark, and he was no doubt wondering where you were. Instead of picking up, you simply walked into the café and made your way to the table where the two of you always sat.
“Sorry I’m late, I was…daydreaming.”
You took a deep breath. It was now or never.”
“Uh… it was kinda about you.”
He nearly choked on his drink, looking at you with a shocked expression. His doe eyes had doubled in size, and you couldn’t help but think he looked incredibly cute like that. “M-Me?”
“You see, remember when I told you about that classmate of mine? Well–”
“You were talking about yourself, and your actually head over heels completely in love with me?”
It was now your turn to be surprised, “Wait Wha-How did you know?”
He chuckled before bringing his face close to yours.
“You’re pretty obvious, you know. I may be oblivious, but not even I’m that oblivious.”
You blushed hard before shyly asking, “Then why didn’t you say anything?”
Mark only grinned: “I wanted to make sure you were comfortable with it first before confessing. You obviously were still dealing with some problems, and I was willing to wait until you were ready for the next step.”
“Wow, what a sweetheart,” you teased, secretly thankful for his thoughtfulness.
“You know it. Well, now that we’ve both established that we like each other, I would like to officially ask you out on a date.”
You beamed brightly at him, “I’d love to.”
“Well, now that that’s out of the way, it’s time for me to do something I’ve been waiting a very long time to do.”
“And what’s that?”
He suddenly reached across the table, pulling your face closer to his own. You saw a devilish twinkle in his eyes before he pressed his lips on to yours, molding them together gently before separating. A stupid grin appeared on your face as you made the incredibly intelligent comment: “That was nice.”
He laughed wholeheartedly at you then placed a soft kiss on your cheek.
“Have you seen Sana?” Yousef asked, dipping down towards the blonde girl he’d been introduced to a little earlier but for the life of him couldn’t remember the name of. His mind had been other places. The loud pumping music and the bodies moving in close proximity to them made it difficult to converse without shouting and after her returned “Huh?” he took a seat beside her and asked her again. “Have you seen Sana?” A bright smile warmed her features at the mention of her friend but a frown then creased her brow, presumably after realising she hadn’t in fact seen Sana in a while. “No, sorry.”
With a sigh he gave up looking for Sana for the moment. “So uh…” Yousef trailed off, racking his brain for the blonde’s name. She must have noticed because she offered, “Noora?” and he smiled in appreciation that she’d given it with a happy ease that suggested she wasn’t at all offended by the fact he’d forgotten her name. “So Noora,” he said, putting extra emphasis on her name as if committing it to memory. “Have you known Sana long?”
Jughead is dating Betty, and the reader is doing everything in their power to make sure that he doesn’t find out they like him. Based on the requested song: Yours to Hold by Skillet.
Warnings: Swearing (like one, again.)
Word Count: 2,240
A/N: This kind of took on a mind of it’s own as I kept writing. I had an idea for this being like super sad but like I never want Jug to be hurt ever so I let my hands write while my mind wandered. I was also thinking about doing a literal interpretation of the lyrics, but I wasn’t feeling that either. This felt right, i guess? It’s more metaphorical. I hope it’s still okay!
i see you standing here
but you’re so far away
starving for your attention
you don’t even know my name
Betty and Jughead had been an official couple for two months. Two months you had to push down your feelings you’ve had for him since grade nine. Two months you couldn’t walk down the hall without trying to avoid eye contact with both of them. Two months of your heart breaking over and over, every time you saw him climb to her window from your house across the street. You never pegged yourself for the girl next door, but here you were anyway. Although you were pretty sure that this time you wouldn’t be getting the guy. It tore you up inside, always being the one that likes but isn’t liked back. It’s not like you and Jughead were close, you reasoned with yourself, so it’s not like he would’ve known, but you were good enough acquaintances to nod to each other in the hallway or share glances in the classroom when the teacher said something stupid.
You mainly knew Jughead and Betty and Archie through Veronica, your closest friend since she moved here at the end of last summer. You guys were a perfect fit, she needed someone spill her secrets to and you were someone who wouldn’t tell a soul. Who would you have to tell, anyway? The most social interaction you had was when you went to art club, but even then you kept to yourself and your drawings. Your drawings couldn’t hurt you.
What did hurt you, though, is that sometimes, on the best occasion, Jughead would come to you. Well, he would come sit beside you. You would draw in Pop’s diner late at night when you didn’t feel any inspiration from the school studio, so he would come and sit across from you with his laptop to write. It only happened once or twice, but every time it did your stomach started to turn and you couldn’t help but smile as your pencil hit the paper. It only hurt because it didn’t happen every day.
You were at your locker, going through the motions until you could go to the art room at the end of the day, and you were about to get books for your next class when Ronnie saunters up beside you.
“Hey girl, you hear the news?” she asks, her books wrapped in her arms, her bag slung over her shoulder in a way that only she could make fashionable.
“What?” you ask, exchanging the books in your hand for the ones on the top shelf. You grab your sketchbook, secretly filled with drawings and pictures taken of Ronnie’s gang, random kids in the hall, and Jughead. An overwhelmingly abundance of Jughead. You like to observe just like him, you just draw what you see instead of writing it. This sketch book was your version of his novel, which of course you heard about from Ronnie who heard it from Betty.
You probably knew more than you should about them, but whenever Ronnie started talking about them, you didn’t stop her.
“The stuff about Polly!” she smirks, knowing that she’s just egging you on.
“Polly? Betty’s sister? Why would I care about her?” you ask, closing your locker, your face scrunching up just a bit, books in hand.
“Betty told me that there’s rough water in loveland.” she says, motioning for you to walk with her down the hall.
“Really?” you try to sound disinterested, but you couldn’t help yourself.
“Mhmmmm. Betty has been so focused on her sister, and so now Jug has been cancelling plans, not showing up on time…” she trails off, looking over at you as she flips her hair over her shoulders.
“That must be… rough.” you say, unsure of how to respond.
“It’s your chance! I’ve been talking you up to all of them, I think you should make a real effort to get to know them.” she urges, turning to you and putting a hand on your arm. You were at your next class, her class just the next door down.
“You know what happened last time.” you remind her, remembering what happened when she tried to introduce you the last time. You could barely get two words out to any of them, fumbling over sentences and stuttering over the simplest of words. They all laughed it off, but there was definitely an awkward feel hanging in the air, and Jughead didn’t even look up from his laptop.
“I think you’re ready, you’re basically my best friend now, so they have to accept you. And beside, it’s my chance too.” she says, referencing her small crush on Betty as she blows a kiss and walks to her class. You sigh and roll your eyes, hoping that maybe this time she was right. Maybe this time you wouldn’t be the invisible girl in the corner, doodling in her notebook.
you’re going through so much
don’t you know that I could be the one to hold you?
It was movie night at Ronnie’s house. You were in your pajamas, which were just short shorts and a baggy t-shirt, ready to settle in to watch whatever she picked, since it was her turn.
“Did you hear?” she asks, walking in with the popcorn.
“What?” you ask, looking her up and down.
“Jug broke up with Betty.” she says, sitting down and crossing her legs.
“No, no way he would ever do that.” you say, shaking your head. That’s impossible, Jughead was head over heals for her just like you were for him, only difference is that he made his feelings public.
“He did. Betty told me that the reason he gave her was because there was someone else.” she smirks.
“No way, who?” you ask, wondering if it was maybe Josie, or even Ronnie herself.
The doorbell rings before she has a chance to answer.
“Be right back.” she says, setting the popcorn down and raising her eyebrows as she goes to the door.
A few minutes later she comes back with Archie and Jughead.
Your eyes grow wide as you stare down Veronica. “I thought my boys could join us.” she says nonchalantly, shrugging her shoulders as she sits down to the left of you.
Archie takes a seat next to Veronica, leaving the only spot open on the right, so of course that’s where Jug sits.
You try to give him a smile without completely embarrassing yourself, and you think you see a smile as he gives you a nod of his head, his eyes lifting to look at the screen.
“Choice of movie?” you ask Ronnie, breaking the tension that had probably only been building in your mind.
“I thought we could let them decide, since they’re new members to movie night.” she says with a smile, looking from Archie to Jughead.
“I don’t know Veronica, I think whatever you pick is probably good enough.” Archie chimes in, pulling his sleeves down as he crosses his arms. It was clear that if Archie didn’t have a crush, he definitely didn’t want to get on Ronnie’s bad side.
“Alright, Titanic it is.” she says with a small laugh, getting up to put in the movie. She then dims the lights and plops right down next to you, giving you a wink as she does.
The movie begins and you sigh in relief. There’s no more talking for at least the next three hours. You lean into the back of the sofa, ready to enjoy the movie when Jughead brushes your shoulder with his. You stiffen. Was that on purpose?
You take a deep breath and begin to relax a little. Just as you do though, Jughead puts his arm around the back of the couch, inches away from your neck.
You glance at Ronnie, wondering if she’s seeing any of this. The smirk on her face says it all. The movie isn’t even 15 minutes in and you can’t seem to stand it anymore. You get up and mumble something about getting a drink, going to her kitchen to get yourself a glass of water. You take a deep breath.
You turn around and run straight into Jughead, spilling water not only all over yourself, but all over him too.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry.” you manage to get out, scrambling to find where Ronnie keeps her paper towels or washcloths, or anything.
“Don’t worry about it, it fits the theme.” he says, gesturing back towards the screen. You can’t help but chuckle at the comment. Sometimes you forget how funny Jughead can be.
“Yeah I guess so. ‘I’ll never let go, Jack.’” you mimic the movie in a high pitch voice, but still low enough to not disturb your friends in the other room.
“Do you wanna get out of here? I mean Titanic is great and all, but I do not want to be here when they start making out.” he scoffs.
“Who? Rose and Jack?” you question, a look of confusion on your face. You didn’t think that part was so bad.
“No, Archie and Veronica.” he corrects, a smirk playing on his lips, “dinner at Pop’s? You’re buying. It’ll make up for the water damages.”
You turn to notice that Archie has his hand on the back of the couch over Veronica, just like Jughead did with you.
He turns and walks away without another word, going out to his car, you guessed. Only then did you start to panic. Did Jughead Jones just ask you out? Was this backwards upside down reverse april fools day or something?
You grab your backpack and head for the door, only then realizing that you’re still in pajamas. You shake your head at the thought, this wasn’t a date. This was just his lame attempt at finding an excuse to get out of movie night. This would be just like the other times, where you would sit in silence.
you will see someday
that all along the way
i was yours to hold
Sitting in Pop’s on a late Friday night was like a low-key therapy session. You just hoped Ronnie wouldn’t be too mad that you left without telling her, but she seemed preoccupied and you were pretty sure she would understand.
Jughead ordered a burger and a milkshake while you just had a water. You couldn’t risk any food stains getting in your sketchbook.
You pulled out the one you always carried around in your backpack, opening to a blank page before setting it out on the table where he could see. Unlike the last few times, though, he doesn’t pull out his laptop. He doesn’t even have his bag with him.
“No novel tonight?” you question.
He shakes his head as you pull out a pencil. He might not have his novel but you sure as hell weren’t giving up your drawing.
The first pencil stroke to the page and it’s like your hand knew automatically what to do. It went directly to the curves in his hair, the lines on his face. You were just hoping he was too focused on his food to notice.
“I’m sorry about Betty.” you say under your breath, just trying to make conversation.
“Don’t be. I realized I only liked her because she was filling a void.” he states, stirring his straw in his shake. He was trying to be poetic, you could tell.
“Void?” you ask.
“I’ve had a crush on this girl since about grade eight, been real quiet about it, not even Arch knows. We haven’t had many conversations, she seems distant, nose always in a book. I just started hanging out with her more and more recently, though, so I’m hoping I at least get a date.” he explains, hope in his eyes that you don’t see. You’re too focused on the details of his beanie.
“That’s a real quick rebound.” you say, not really paying attention.
“Not if they’ve always been there.” he says. That gets your attention, and your eyes lock with his. Was he talking about you? He couldn’t be, there was no way.
You’re too caught up in your own thoughts you don’t even realize that he’s snatched your sketchbook right from under you.
“Don’t-” you say, a little too late. He’s already looking, and that one page leads to him flipping through all of them. Page after page of his beanie, his hair, his jawline. You probably knew his features better than anyone out there.
“Wow, you really did draw me like one of the french girls.” he remarks, a huge smile on his face. You liked his smile, very much so.
He meets your gaze and sets the book down. There’s something between you, something that wasn’t there before. It was the start of something, just what it was you didn’t know yet, but it was exciting, thrilling, and it made your stomach turn into knots and your heart flutter in your chest.
“I’ve always been there, Jug.” you say, finally letting it out.
“I know,” he says, leaning closer across the table, “and I’m mad at myself for taking so long to realize it.”
Closer and closer still, you close your eyes and try to brace yourself for what’s going to be the most thrilling ride of your life. Sink or swim, this ship was one you wanted to be on.
It’s an Older Sibling Thing (Part 2): Please Come Home
Characters: Dean Winchester x Friend!Reader, Sam Winchester x Friend!Reader
Length: 1544+ words
TW: Descriptions of Injuries. Character death. Just sadness and angst all over (I made myself cry writing this tbh)
A/N: There was so many interest in a Part 2, and at first I wasn’t going to write one, but after my exam yesterday, I got into a flow of writing it, and I finished it! Hope you guys like it! Feedback is encouraged!
“What the hell, Dean?!” Sam shouted. He had given his older brother the silent treatment from the moment they left the motel weeks ago. But seeing Dean, relaxing on the couch, with a beer in hand, not even fazed that he had kicked out one of their closest friend irked Sam to no end. “What did you say to her?!”
The oldest Winchester rolled his eyes, crossing his arms in defiantly. “I didn’t say anything that wasn’t true.”
“Why’d she leave?”
“Beats me.” Dean shrugged, taking another gulp of his drink.
“She said she understands why you kicked her out,” Sam said in a more quieter tone, changing his tactics.
“Good. At least she knows she was a selfish-”
“Dean!” Sam exclaimed, shocked that his brother would say such things about someone who they were close friends with.
“How can you not be angry?” Dean asked. “Because of her, you were hurt, Sam! It’s my job to protect you, and she was in the way of that.”
“You’re an idiot, you know that?”
“She didn’t tell the demons anything. You think the demons haven’t picked up a few things from us?”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Dean asked, his eyes narrowing in curiosity.
“They only kidnapped Y/N for her phone. They used the same tactic as we do when we’re tracking someone- all you need is a phone number.”
“Son of a bitch.”
“Yea. You fucked up, Dean. Whatever you said to her, you fucked up.”
“No. Fix this, Dean. I was my sister back.” Sam shook his head, walking away to his room.
The hazel-eyed man stopped, turning his slightly around to look at his brother’s confused face. “She’s always been family to us- to me at least. And you kicking her out like that doesn’t change that.”
“Dammit,” Dean cursed under his breath, watching his younger brother walk away. “Fuck.” He closed his eyes tightly, trying to think of ways to fix his mess.
This is one of the best Tokyo Ghoul quotes in weeks, and I think it says everything about the meaning of the goings on in this chapter. Ui knows the truth of the situation, the death that surrounds all of them, but rather than confront it, or live on in blissful ignorance he chooses to worship it instead in hopes it will give him what he wants. It’s quite literally the definition of selling your soul to the devil. Let’s take a look at that while I explain what I mean, below and the ramifications of this quote:
Imagine Bangtan (Different Profession AU!): Jeon Jungkook | Kim Taehyung | Park Jimin | Jung Hoseok | Kim Seokjin | Kim Namjoon
Note: Based on the roleplay series that me and Midnight have been working on~
So let’s talk about Mafia Yoongs
I don’t really think he’d be the time to be directly involved in the assignments tho
No, no, no
He’d be the
consigliere, giving advice to the boss, which would probably be Joonie and resolve any and all disputes that happen between the hitmen, mostly Jungkook and Tae because they literally fight over everything
And you, you’re just a plain ol’ run of the mill, normal college student trying not to procrastinate your life and your grades away
He first saw you when you were running from one class to another because obviously, even after months of attending classes, you’ve lost track of what day it is and are rushing to get to the right class
He finds it irrationally, insanely adorable and he’s slowly smiling to himself and then Jungkook gets back just in time to catch that and he’s like
“Hyung, are you okay? You’re… smiling.” Jungkook speaks with a genuinely concerned expression on his face, “I didn’t think you had feelings, wow…”
Which leads to a subsequent loss of dessert, extra snacks and even wifi privileges for the rest of the week
Draco Malfoy had a hard time with keeping you hidden, just like you’d like. You were shy, one of the shyest girls in your house, but he wanted everybody to know that you were his, and being in the spotlight like he was meant that you got a lot of attention. Many people envied your relationship, especially many of the Slytherin girls. They would never say anything bad to your face, but everybody knew that they all had their hearts set out on Draco, and he was in love with you. The whole school was aware of the relationship that you two had- it was amazing that someone with the beliefs that Draco had about blood class would even like somebody, a quarter-blood, like you, which is something you often had a insecurity issue with, however he always told you that he was with you because he loved you.
This is what confused you when he became distant. One Tuesday afternoon, he hadn’t turned up to the usual spot the two of you went to just after lunch before your afternoon classes. Confused, you left for the Great Hall, hoping that you might find him there. Which of course you did. Draco was sat on the opposite side of the Slytherin table to usual, so that he was now facing all of the other houses, and he was staring. But not at nothing, he was staring at a hufflepuff girl. This left you even more confued- had she said something to him? Had he needed to get her attention? Regardless of the answer, you went and sat yourself next to Draco, kissing his cheek as you did.
