“I had always dreamed of scoring a goal like that and being a lad from La Masia made it all the more special. I’ve worked so long to do something incredible like this for my club.”

“when he’s comfortable, he speaks with a big smile on his face. it’s what the brazilians call ‘alto astral’ - a wave of positivity. he’s contagious. it is perhaps for that reason - and because he’s a born competitor - that he’s been able to overcome a serious injury.”

Messi can play any position he wants. If I put him at CB, he’d be the best defender in the team. Messi is just different. It’s ridiculous that they’re comparing awards like Golden Melons, whatever they want to compare. It’s ridiculous. Not to take anything away from from current players. No disrespect to anyone playing right now. Don’t compare him to the ones who played years ago. The level of play was far inferior physically. Today’s footballers are much stronger, physically and in terms of skill. For a player to do this, in this era, there will never be anyone like him, ever.
