Look at this cute caterpillar Grandma! So many questions about her fusion that I have!
So we all have come to an understanding that Fluorite is made up of at least three of the same type of gem(most likely peridots).
So I was wondering if the initial fusion was a fused Peridot(which would be off-color, seeing as peridots aren’t physical gems that would need a reason to fuse). And then that peridot fused with one gem then another then another?
Or… as Fluorite’s comment suggested, two gems started fused, and eventually three peridots(possibly at different times) came to be apart of this fusion?
But either of these situations raises questions about fusions in general.
What would happen to a known fusion like Garnet, if she was comprised of multiples of one Gem?
Say all three of the Rubies that came to Earth with Sapphire had fused with her. Would garnet look the same, or would she be different?
When gems of the same type fuse they become a bigger version of the gem, so would garnet be the same just larger? Or would she be predominantly Ruby with some aspects of a sapphire thrown in?
Would she turn out as stable as she is, or would she end up being a Caterpillar like gem such as Fluorite?
Or would she even be a Garnet?
Then if that Garnet fused with Pearl would Sardonyx be the same or would she be different?
Either way I love the new Caterpillar mom we got along with all the new gems and the questions they raise in regards to fusion( would Rhodonite and Padpardscha make a Sardonyx? Would Padparadscha and a Ruby make a Garnet? Does a Normal Rutile fusion look different compared to a fusion with the Rutile twins?)
