I love the fact that Corey is supporting his gf and being the amazing human being he is 🙌🏽

i dont know who his gf is but im sure he was at the march because he recognizes the systematic inequity amongst poc, lbtgq+, and women in our current political and social climate rather than being there as an ornament to someone else. i love my ally king

In the wake of the election of Donald Trump, we are all faced with uncertainty about our future. Minorities’ basic rights, that were obtained through many struggles, are now at stake.
Now more than ever, it is important to know how to be an ally.

Allyship won’t be cut down to “listen and educate” anymore: we need to protect those who don’t have the privilege of not fearing for their lives from now on. We have to expect violence.
Following the model of my first guide about how to help when witnessing Islamophobia, here is a guide on how to be an ally to minorities in general: POCs, LGBTQIA+ people, people with disabilities, people with mental illness… for everyone whose life and choices are threatened by these dark times, you can apply these 4 steps.
Of course, the recommendations I made in the first guide remain applicable to any kind of harassment, too.
I hope it’s clear and can be shared easily, I wanted to make sure you could understand everything quickly. Don’t hesitate to tell me what you think.

Please, take care of each other. If we don’t have any support in the authorities, we must at least have each other, and stand strong in the face of adversity. I believe in you.

Godspeed. 💞

I’m sad. I’m not okay. I’m upset and heartbroken.

But to be fair, the contact that Camila had signed ended. Her contractual obligations to the group ended and the contract offered her an exit for when the contract expired.

We all know how restrictive and controlling their contracts were and how they didn’t have much control over anything. It would’ve been hard for all 5 of the girls to have the dreams and careers of the other 4 resting in the palm of their hands.

Imagine if 1 was exhausted and wanted to take a break from performing and have a few weeks or months off. They couldn’t. Because then they would be putting the careers of the other 4 girls on the line. So they would just have push through it. Go past their limits.

Think about it…when she had her horrific anxiety, it was the same year she turned 18 (the legal age of consent) and wasn’t protected from Management and the Label by the Child Labor Laws. Yes, she was restricted and controlled before that, but once she turned 18, her contract went into full motion. Management and the Label could use her fully and do what they want with her  without the need of consent from her parents.

In all honesty, yes I am sad. Fifth Harmony was a big reason why I got through my depression. But I want Camila to be happy. And if her contract was up and it offered her an exit and if she knew that leaving now would be best for her and her health and if she knew she would be happier…then I’m okay. I just want her to be healthy and happy.

And she’ll probably have more control over her career and the music she’ll make.

Hopefully she’ll take a few months off and relax and spend time with her parents and especially her sister Sofia. Make up for the time she lost and missed with her when she was traveling and Sofia was growing up.

I’m still going to love and support Camila and I’m still going to love and support Ally, Dinah, Lauren and Normani. The 5 of them have achieved a lot these past 4 and a half years. They’ve made history multiple times this year alone, they were named the greatest girl group of the decade, and they’ve made fans that will last a lifetime.

They should be proud.
