Camp Monster Camp! A Camp Camp AU

The Campers are back at Camp Camp(bell) for another summer of fun when an accident crossing Neil’s science, Harrison’s magic, and Nikki turns the whole camp into monsters! Neither science nor magic can explain it, so the camp is stuck like this until a solution can be found (or three months pass and the kids have to go home - which would be a lot of awkward explanations and lawsuits probably).
So I imagine the crew being…

Griffin!David and Mermaid/Siren!Gwen. David is momentarily freaked out but gets it together because camp fun will not be stopped thanks to some weird transformation! Griffin seems perfect for him because he strikes me as a lovable kitten with a fiercely protective side. This form just makes his fierce more visible.

Gwen is a mermaid because lounging in the sun and yelling seem to both fit her. The siren part comes in when she can basically smooth talk any (non monster) people into believing this is all a camp activity and not to call the FBI. She gets around in a water-filled cart Neil put a motor on or runs water events. She doesn’t need to be in water but dry scales are a pain.

Max is the most snarky dragonling (human mostly with dragon wings, claws, scales, tail, and fins) around. He tried to use his wings to fly off, but he doesn’t have the muscle/technique to do so. Can glide though. He’s cold blooded, so he tends to hoard things like instant warming packs. He can shoot electricity through his body (like an eel), but it’s exhausting and can only be done once or twice a day.

Neil is a Satyr because they’re known as guardians and teachers. He tells all that this is a weird reaction to some cosmic energy release and insists science alone can fix it. Not much about him as changed though his hearing is better, and he has a mean kick.

Nikki is a werewolf, but no one is sure if she’s noticed yet. Aside from occasionally dragging dead prey to camp, she pretty much still acts like Nikki. Generally, her senses have improved immensely and her understanding of animals is better. Thankfully, bites cannot convert other monsters into werewolves. Full moon is like someone handed her a pound of sugar, and the next day she’s pretty much hung over.

Time for an update on MJ!

MJ is a rescue cat. She was abandoned right after birth, separated from her mother, and brought to the local animal shelter. The workers there are very happy we took her in because they believed, even though she is still incredibly young, she had given up. She wasn’t eating or drinking there, and, as a result, is underweight.

My boyfriend and I adopted MJ on September 22, 2017, and we’ve had her home for almost two weeks! She is now 6 months old and thriving.

At first, she was very hesitant toward her new surroundings. I was constantly telling her that she’s okay and that she’s going to love it here. She was timid and shy, and, once she opened up a tiny bit, she stuck to my boyfriend and I like we were her lifelines.

MJ didn’t really eat the first two days, other than a couple treats and us bringing her milk. She even had an accident on the couch (we’re not sure if she was scared to leave us or if she possibly just didn’t know where to go, even though we introduced her to her litter box).

But, now, you wouldn’t even recognize her behavior-wise! She is a totally different cat! She is happy, snuggly, and loves attention. She eats regularly, does her business unaided, and enjoys fresh ice cubes in her water. MJ sleeps with us at night, cuddles during the day, and plays around just like any other kitten. She LOVES her wand, which has two mice attached to the strand; she could chase and jump for that thing for hours. She also loves her scratching post and catnip filled turtle named Nip.

MJ is such a friendly, lovable kitten. I hope she continues to thrive and adore us because we sure adore her!

Suho : You Passed (Scenario; Request)

“Kitten, are you ready to go?” A knock came from outside the bathroom door, making you flinch as you stared at yourself in the mirror but you didn’t have the guts to say anything as you held in your breath. The thought of his parents flashed up in your mind, the way they would give you that icy stare because you weren’t as rich as they were, the thought of not being as high class as you could ever be as them – it all horrified you even before he told you the plan for today.

Not even the pet name he called you with could make you calm down. Kitten, was what he’d usually call you because he said how you reminded him of a lovable kitten. Cute, adorable and yet feisty and sexy like cat whenever you could be - a kitten was exactly what he could use to describe you and unknowingly it became a thing for him to call you kitten. Not going to lie - it sounded pretty seductive at times and at time like these, it would make you feel warm and tingly inside but now, you felt so nervous that your heart was going to explode.

Boom, into pieces.

You swallowed hard and managed to exhale, saying loud enough for him to hear, “C-Can I have a few more minutes?”

He frowned on the other end, tugging on his denim jacket and patting his jeans before staring at the door intensely that was being the barrier between him and you.

“You said that ten minutes ago. What’s going on in there?” He tried to open the door but it was locked, leaving him to sigh as he gave up on trying to budge in. “Kitten, open up. I need to know what’s going on in there.”

You hurriedly looked over to the door and pressed both of your palms against it, a small sign that you didn’t want him in. “N-No! I’ll be out in just a few minutes! Promise!”

He groaned and shook his head even though you couldn’t see it – which was pointless because you could picture it perfectly, “Don’t give me that bullshit. You’re just going to stay in there until I find the bathroom key to drag you out with you finally telling me what’s wrong. Now just open up and let me in.”

Knowing that he had all his points on check… how was it possible to not open the door for him? Your hands dropped with a heavy sigh, heart deflated as you unlocked the door, allowing him to hear a small click of indication that made him twist the door open to come face to face with you.

And God be damned, you blew him away with the way you looked.

You barely had any make up on with just foundation and a few pats of blush on your cheeks - that was it. The way you looked down on your dress made him wonder if the dress you were wearing made you felt insecure but it was merely impossible.

You looked incredibly stunning in this light blue pastel dress that covered up until your knees with long sleeves along with that V-cut that exposed your beautiful back.

Anyone would be crazy to say you looked bad because with your hair swept to the side that complimented the whole looked – no one had the authority to say that.

He took a step forward, hands reaching to yours with a small smile, “Kitten, what’s wrong?”

Your eyes closed shut and you shook your head, “N-Nothing.”

Your voice came out in a small whisper – one that made him frown as he hated this. Where was that confident, daring woman he knew? He lured you out from the bathroom, to the bed where he made you sit on his lap with your legs at the side. His arms wounded around your waist where yours rested lifelessly on your lap, eyes still not meeting his.

“We both know that’s a big fat lie. Now tell me what’s wrong.”

It was more of a demand compared to a question, which made you lift your chin where you gazed at him sadly. His eyes softened, hands giving you a squeeze on your waist. “Kitten…” He whispered, urging you to tell him what’s really going on in your mind.

With a quiet sigh, you breathed out unstably, “I’m scared…”

He shook his head with a string of, “No no no…” before he asked, “Why are you scared?”

The moment your eyes closed and looked away, his hands shot up to frame your cheeks, bringing your head down to meet with his forehead where he whispered on your lips, “Why?”

Your eyes opened, meeting his where he really didn’t know what was going on.

What was scaring the woman he loves so much?

“I… I’m just afraid that I won’t be good enough. The evaluation, the background checks they’ve could’ve done on me – I… I can’t-“

“Shh…” He hushed you immediately, bringing you into a hug where he made this a very tight hug to make you feel comfortable and indeed, it did. You quiet down, resting your cheek on his shoulder where your arms gingerly went around his neck. He continued hushing you until he felt your body relaxing against his – which allowed him to say what he had to say.

“My parents are not like that, kitten – you and I both know that.”

“I don’t-“

I’m still talking,” He chuckled lightly, making you huff as well as keeping quiet.

He pulled away from the hug just to look up at you slightly, his hand moving up to place it on your cheek where he stroked delicately, “You should know that whatever you’re working as, how much you’re earning, whatever you do what you have to do – means nothing to me. All that matters is you love me, and I love you – only you. You give me your whole heart and it surprises me every day how I can love you a bit more compared to yesterday. No one can do what you can do, and to me, that’s the most valuable thing I could ever ask for. If my parents don’t see that, I’ll make them see that in you.”

You thought he was done, but he wasn’t when he whispered, “You’re the only one I love.”

As soon as he saw a smile creeping up your face, he knew he had done it. He had made you feel comfortable again as you clung onto him, face buried in his neck where you whispered, “I love you.”

You felt him kissing the side of your head, “I love you too. Shall we go now?”

With a nod you gave him as you pulled away from him to smile, “Yeah, we should.”

“I… I can’t.” You hesitated to get down from the car and he could’ve sworn that it would’ve been much easier if you two just walked so that he wouldn’t need to go through this phase of getting you out of the car. Because once again, your thoughts had corrupted your mind throughout the whole way here and now, it was back to phase one.

He sighed, “Kitten, my parents are not monster eating people. They are sophisticated-“

“That’s what scares me…” You grumbled and he got down to his knees, hands holding onto yours where he looked up at you, “C’mon, kitten. We’ve talked about this. There’s nothing to be afraid of…”

You frowned, “But what if they don’t like me?”

“They won’t.” He deadpanned and you winced, shifting backwards where it made him pull you forward to come closer until your eyes were so close – you could see the determination flaring in his eyes. Definitely, this is the man you love. “They’ll love you.”

You gulped and shifted on the seat to come out but you still sat there quietly, “R-Really?”

He chuckled and nodded, “Really.”

With him standing up along with his hands pulling you up gently out and up from the car, you stood there with your hands in his whilst he spun you around, switching places where he swiftly closed the door as well as keeping his eyes locked on yours. “Shall we?”

With a very timid nod, you smiled (well, you tried…), “Y-Yeah…”

“Mr. and Mrs. Kim will be down in a minute, sir.” The servant greeted Suho as if he was a prince and that definitely made you gape at the servant with wide eyes as Suho tugged you in. “Thanks, Jun. Did they head out today?”

The man shook his head, “No. They were waiting the whole day for this moment.”

You gulped and sighed – great…

They were waiting…

Before you knew it, you were already sitting down with just Suho beside you on the sofa, his hand intertwined with yours lovingly. You felt him rubbing your hands to keep you warm as your hands were cold, “Are you still nervous?”

With a small shaking of your head, you mumbled, “Yeah…”

“Really nervous?”

Your eyes grew wide, head shaking twice as fast, “Oh yeah…”

“Wait here, for a moment.” He whispered, pulling his hand away from yours and it made you gasp as you looked up to see that he was looking down on you. You frowned and motioned him back, “B-Babe! Where are you going?”

He snickered and shook his head, “I’ll be back, just sit here.”

You frowned and shook your head, “But…”

“Trust me,” He fixed his jacket before winking at you, “It’s safe here.”

When he left, you muttered under your breath, “Not without you…”

Just then you let out a soft scream when something crashed in the hallway. It made you shoot up from the sofa, eyes widening, ears alarmed as you walked towards the sound softly. You stood by the hallway where there were stairs but no one was there and down the hall, it was the servant earlier.

Only difference is, his hand was covered with blood along with the vase that was broken.

He grunted in pain and showed no sign of calling for help. Your instincts led you towards him as you tiptoed around the pieces of glass, crouching down in front of him where you held onto his hand. His eyes popped open upon seeing you and need he say, he felt so relieved when it was just you. You gave him a small smile and helped him up, “W-Where’s the first aid kit?” You asked politely, causing him to meekly point over your shoulder where it was in the kitchen on the first cabinet. You nodded and whispered, “Why don’t you go over there first? I’ll clean this up.”

He shook his head, “M-Madam, you’re a guest-“

“I’m a guest,” You nodded once but he was definitely surprised seeing your humble side – indeed, you were different from all the girls Suho has been with that his mother introduced before, “But I’m also human. And so are you. You’re injured so please wait there. Please?” That little squeak in your voice made him smile at you whilst nodding as he took a step back just to head into the kitchen. You glanced down on the floor where you got down on your knees, hands carefully picking up the bits of glass in your hands and with the help of the maids here, you got the place clean within a minute or two.

You peeked at the living room and noticed how there was still no one there.

Good… I still have more time to- “What are you doing there?” A voice spoke up from the stairs, making you gasp as you lifted your chin up to meet eyes with… her.

Suho’s mother.

Mrs. Kim.

She was staring down on you, eyes sharp and it made you gulp as you stammered, “I… I was cleaning up.”

She cocked an eyebrow and asked, “Cleaning?”

Before you could answer, the servant earlier came back and clarified, “Valentino knocked against a vase and as I tried to save it, it broke down with me injuring my hand. Madam helped me clean the glass up and…” He ran out of words as he wasn’t sure if he could say what he had to say but clearly, that only made Mrs. Kim a bit frustrated.

You stood up straight and reached for the servant’s hand, “I was going to treat his hand, M-Mrs. Kim…”

She raised an eyebrow and soon, a smile crept onto her face, making you flinch as you stared at her.

Suho has her eyes…

“Then treat his hand.”

You blinked at her a few times and the two of you whispered at the same time, clearly the two of you were stunned, “W-What?”

She nodded once and motioned you to do so. Your head turned to meet with the servant’s and you gulped with a tiny nod, “O-Okay…”

“T-This way, madam…” The servant spoke up a little, leading you into the kitchen where he wanted you to sit down on the stool but you made him sit down with a vague smile before you went around the counter to stand opposite him with his hand in hand with yours. He managed to grin, feeling the warm aura you were radiating.

As you were treating his hand, you were startled when a sharp voice asked, “How do you have such skills?”

Man… Her voice is enough to wake the whole world up just like that…

Your eyes flickered up to meet with hers where you gulped before you answered, “I… I had to learn on my own. I didn’t really have anyone to take care of me and… basic skills like these were essential in my daily life.”

She frowned a little, taking a seat in the corner of the kitchen where her eyes never left your figure. Considering she never said anything in return, you looked back at the servant where you lifted his hand up to blow cool air on the wounded area with a small smile, “Does it hurt?” You asked from time to time, in which he could only shake his head.

Because it was like being treated by an angel.

Or kitten, whichever.

“Don’t mind me asking, madam.” He asked politely, making you shake your head with a toothy grin as you ripped out a piece of bandage – partly with your teeth and they could see how many times you’ve been doing this before. “Ask away.” You chimed quietly before you reached for his hand again to wrap around it delicately.

But you froze completely when he asked, “W-Where are your parents?”

You gulped and let out an awkward laugh, patting his hand where you were done wrapping the bandage before your eyes moved up to meet with his. How his pitiful eyes just stared into yours as you shrugged, “I… I don’t know, actually.”

He could tell how you sounded confused, how lost you actually were and with that… you never took notice of Mrs. Kim listening as well.

“I woke up one day alone.” You stated as blankly as you could but truthfully, it was hurting you as you kept everything back into the first aid box. As you put in the tape, “And I had no one by my side ever since I was sixteen. I have my grandmother living nearby but she was only around until I was twenty-one.”

As you closed the box, “After that, I had to do what I had to do.” Your eyes glanced up to smile at the servant who was partially gaping at you, “I worked and studied at the same time. I got a scholarship somewhere in there so… it wasn’t that bad.”

In that moment, your heart skipped a beat when a familiar voice spoke up, “Mom, dad’s here.”

You stumbled backwards unintentionally when Suho came by your side, holding you by your waist when you were stunned on the fact that the whole family was here already.

Shoot… You cursed yourself. You’re officially doomed… your mind scolded.

Maybe they just got here? Your heart tried making you feel better but you let out a soft “oh…” when you were in Suho’s arms. “S-Suho…” You mumbled quietly when he kissed the side of your head, “Mom, dad – this is my girlfriend. And kitten,” Your heart leaped when he just called your pet name in front of his parents.

Your mind was screaming, God damn it Suho! Not now! It’s embarrassing!

But your heart soared, he dared to call you whatever he pleased in front of his parents…

“Meet mom, and meet dad.”

You nodded and bowed hurriedly with your hands on Suho’s arms that were around your waist. “S-Sir, M-Ma’am…”

The two of them gave a smile – in which, make you gape at them as they nodded their head in return. Mr. Kim looked rather happy to have you here, his eyes giving you a warm look and when your eyes looked over to Mrs. Kim, she motioned you with a hand of hers, “Come, dear. Let’s eat.”

“And call us mom and dad, kitten!” Mr. Kim joked as he walked out of the kitchen along with Mrs. Kim.

You were left puzzled, gulping as you watch their figures disappear. When parents walked out of the kitchen, you were still surprised, eyes popped open as if you saw a ghost and your body trembling in his arms.

Suho chuckled at this, his lips kissing your head again to bring you back.

“Oh kitten…” He cooed, biting your earlobe where he tried to make you feel relaxed but you were still too shocked to even speak. When you could speak, all you mumbled was…

“S-Suho… what just happened?”

He snickered and spun you around, coming face to face with you as he dipped down to whisper on your lips, “It means they love you, kitten. You – passed.

It had been months since I’d last seen him. Months since he broke my heart  and I was finally starting to move on. He had been my first everything, my first real boyfriend, my first kiss, my first time, my first love. He had this way about him, that just made you fall in love, no matter how much you didn’t want to. Maybe it was the tattoos, the piercings and colorful hair? Maybe it was the way he looked at me with those beautiful green eyes, or the way he looked when he smiled and the sound of his laugh? Maybe it was the fact that he came across as the most self confident asshole you could meet, until you got to know him and you realized he was simply a shy, sweet, lovable, kitten. Maybe it was how he could go from joking about balls and dicks one second to talking about what he thought the meaning of life was and revealing his deepest fears and his darkest secrets? It was a combination of all of those things that made me fall in love.

We met each other one Friday night at a party in high school. Everyone was either drunk or high, people were making out and grinding every which way you looked. I was never really the partying sort, but my best friend dragged me out with her that night, although after ten minutes she disappeared and left me on my own. “Great”, I thought to myself, “the one person I know here just left me and she’s my ride. So now I have to wait for god knows how long until she’s finished doing whatever the hell she thought was so important that she couldn’t miss out on. I started walking around exploring the house that was in the midst of being trashed, trying to find somewhere that the stench of weed wasn’t as overwhelming, because I already thought I was going to be sick. I wandered down a flight of stairs curious as to what I might find. When I reached the bottom, I found myself in a finished basement with the lights turned all the way down. There was a group of kids sitting in a circle, playing what appeared to be a very drunk game of spin the bottle. “Seriously?” I thought, “What are we? In middle school?” I rolled my eyes in disgust and turned in a different direction. There was a door placed to the left of the staircase, so I thought why not check it out? All I found there was a bathtub full of ice and alcohol. Not finding anything that interested me I headed back up the stairs. It’s not that I’d never had alcohol or been drunk, but when I was I preferred to do so in my own home. I’d had enough of this, so I decided to go outside on the back porch and look at the stars. I took a seat on the step and looked up. The sky truly was beautiful that night, the stars seemed brighter than I’d ever noticed and the moon was full. All those people inside, too wasted to appreciate it. That was one of my pet peeves, nobody every stops to admire the little things. I’d been outside staring up at the sky for what felt like ages, I looked down at my phone and it was just a little past midnight. I looked back up the sky, ‘oh well, at least it’s a nice night.’ I thought. I was snapped out of my daydream like state of mind when I heard the sliding glass door open. I didn’t bother turning around, it was probably just another drunk idiot looking for more beer. After a moment I felt the porch getting shakier from the heavy feet making their way towards me. A boy sat down next to me, wearing black ripped up skinny jeans, combat boots, and a leather jacket. His hair was dyed bright red and he had an eyebrow piercing in his right eyebrow. His eyes were bright green, the brightest green I’d ever seen. His tongue dipped out of his cherry red lips and swiped across them before he spoke.

“Beer?” He asked me offering me his.

“No thanks.” I said looking back up at the sky.

“What are you doing?” He asked laughing with a cocky tone. “You seem a bit too sober to be here right now?”

“The sky looks extra beautiful tonight, I think. It’s a shame no one appreciates it.”

“Are you high?” He chuckled in a low tone.

“No, I am aggressively sober right now.”

“Then why are you here?”

“My best friend is an idiot and needed me to come so I can drive her drunk ass home later.”

“Sure you don’t want some?” He asked again nodding towards the beer in his hand.

“Did you not just hear me? I have to drive later. No thanks, I’m good.” I said looking straight into the darkness in front of us. I could see he nodded slightly, out of the corner of my eye. He set the bottle down on the step in front of us and looked up at the sky.

“You’re right, the sky does look nice tonight. I’m Michael, by the way.”

“Y/N. Why are you even out here? The party is inside.”

“I noticed you sitting out here an hour ago, and you were still here when I walked back by. I wanted to make sure you weren’t like, dead or something.”

“Well, I’m not, so you can go back to whatever it is you really want to be doing.”

“I am doing what I want.” It was silent for a few minutes, the dull swirl of music coming from inside the house, not making the tension any less awkward. Why was he even still sitting here? “So, what should I know about you?” He asked taking a sip of his drink.

“Why would you want to know anything?”

“Let me guess, and tell me how many of these things I’m right about. You’re a straight A student, never smoked, never drank, never had sex, never snuck out, never broken the rules?” He asked smirking raising his pierced brow.

“What makes you assume any of that?”

“You’re at a gigantic party on a Friday night, and instead of drinking or smoking or making out with a stranger, you’re sitting outside looking at the sky. Plus I’ve seen you around and I know what you’re all about. You are the ultimate good girl.” I rolled my eyes, what an ass.

“I’m sorry is there a point to this conversation? Because I don’t see one.”

“The point is, Princess, I would really love to be the one to corrupt you.” Why the hell was I so attracted to this idiot?

“Again, I’ll pass.” He laughed again. “What exactly is so funny?”

“You, Princess. I’m gonna make you fall in love with me.”

“Sorry. ‘Self absorbed asshole’ isn’t really my type.”

“I’m insulted, Princess” He scoffed in a sarcastic tone.

“Do you even go to my school? Because I’ve never ever seen you before.”

“I’m definitely enrolled there. I just make a point to never go to class, I’ve got more important things to do.”

“Like what? Getting drunk and taking advantage of girls?”

“Though I do love drinking, I save that for my evenings. I’m too busy with my band to give a shit about school. I don’t take advantage of anybody. Any girl that I’ve been with has come onto me. That’s why I like you, you’re playing hard to get, and I like a challenge.”

“When you say playing, that implies that this is some kind of game to you, so don’t waste your time because you’ll lose.” I said getting up and heading back inside. I faintly heard him respond as I walked away.

“Don’t be so sure of yourself, when I want something, I get it.” I rolled my eyes as I slid the glass closed behind me and went to search for my friend. When I found her she was laughing her ass off and almost too drunk to move. It was definitely time to go. I hoisted her up and started dragging her out to our car. I drove her home and tucked her into bed. Her parents were gone for the weekend so I stayed with her. I had the privilege of sleeping on her floor, as I laid there, not about to get any sort of a good night’s sleep, due to the combination of my best friend throwing up, the hard floor, and my mind being unable to stop thinking about him. I wanted to know what his deal was? Why did I never notice him before? How long had he noticed me for? “Hey? Are you still awake?” I asked after her throwing up stopped for ten minutes.

“Do you know a guy named Michael? Red hair? Eyebrow piercing.”

“Oh yeah I know him, he’s bad news.” She yawned.

“Why do you say that?” I never got an answer. Monday morning at school I wondered if I’d see him. Probably not, he said he never came to school. Why would he show up on a Monday morning? I didn’t even want to be here and my life was studying and getting good grades. I was busy putting my books in my locker and organizing myself for the day when someone leaned up against the locker next to mine. I saw the black combat boots and I was shocked, to say the least.

“Morning Princess.” He said tapping me on the shoulder, a cocky smile plastered on his face.

“Oh, so you do go here? Wow, and no alcohol in your bloodstream but you’re still a cocky prick.”

“Baby I don’t like the assumptions, they aren’t fair.”

“They aren’t assumptions when they’re facts.”

“Oh and what made you decide that was a fact?”

“Maybe it’s the fact that you’ve had sex with any girl at this school you could get your hands on and that you walk around with that stupid smile plastered on your face all the time, or that you think you can call me baby and princess.” I said shutting my locker and walking away from him, but he followed me.

“Go out with me Friday night.”

“And why would I do that?”

“Because I know you’re dying to have a little fun, and I sort of fascinate you.”

“I can think of about a million other things I’d rather do on a Friday night than spend it with you.”

“One date. That’s all I’m asking for.”

“Again, no thanks.”

“What can I do to get you to say yes?”

“Nothing. Excuse me, I have a class to go to.” I said pushing past him and going to my history class, taking a seat in the back, since it was the only place left. Usually I sat up front, but since he held me up on my way to class I lost my spot. I guess it didn’t matter we were watching a movie. Then he strolled in.

“Mr. Clifford, nice of you to join us for once.” Said my teacher in a snarky tone. What the fuck? Is he in this class? I guess I wouldn’t know if he never shows up, and that same cocky smirk appeared on his lips as he took a seat next to me, and there was no where I could move.

“Princess, I’m actually in class for you. The least you could do is go out with me, just give me two hours on Friday night, I promise you won’t regret it.” He whispered scooting closer to my chair. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, pulling my skirt down, for some reason feeling extremely vulnerable.

“No talking.” Said the monotone voice of my teacher from the front of the room.

“What part of ‘not interested’ do you not understand?” I whispered back.

“The ‘not’ part.” He whispered back laughing. “C’mon, one date. If you still hate me afterwards I’ll stop bugging you.”

“Fine.” I rolled my eyes.

“I’ll pick you up at 9.” He said winking at me.  9? I mean I get that it’s a Friday night but 9? Whatever it’s one Friday night I’m giving up. I didn’t see him for the rest of the school week. How did he even know where to pick me up? We hadn’t talked since Monday, but I wasn’t gonna be mad if he didn’t show up. All Friday afternoon I couldn’t decide how I wanted to dress. I didn’t know whether I should dress myself up as pretty as I could, just to make him mad that he can’t have me or if I shouldn’t try at all. I settled on a baby blue dress that was the perfect mix between casual and pretty. To my surprise a car pulled into my driveway at nine on the dot. I was planning on just going outside to meet him but he beat me to my front door, and rang the door bell. I opened it to find him standing there holding a bouquet of flowers and I was a bit thrown off. “I uhm, I got you these.” He said handing them to me. For once he didn’t have a cocky air about him and I was completely confused.

“Oh, uhm, thank you?” I said not really sure how to respond.

“You ready to go?”

“One second, let me get my jacket.” I put the flowers down on my kitchen counter and went to grab my jacket out of the closet. He stood waiting on my front step, and I was just trying to understand who this person was. What happened to the guy I met at the party and the guy on Monday morning? This has to be an act and I’m not going to fall for it. He looked the same, black skinny jeans, combat boots and that damn leather jacket, with what looked like a black button up underneath. Was that his attempt at dressing nicely? He even went as far as opening my car door for me. “So what exactly are we doing, and why did we have to wait until 9?”

“You’ll see.” He said smirking as he back out of my driveway. There he was, the guy I met last weekend. We drove for a while and then all at once he pulled over onto the side of the road and parked. I looked at him completely confused for about the tenth time in the past half hour.

“Why’d you stop?”

“We’re here.” He said casually, while unbuckling his seat belt and getting out. I wasn’t really sure if getting out of the car was a good idea, what the fuck did he have planned? He opened the trunk of his car and started pulling things out. I unbuckled my seat belt, still unsure about what to do. I opened my door and got out cautiously, at least I had pepper spray in my purse if I needed it. I noticed he had a guitar case slung over his shoulder and a blanket and picnic basket in one hand. I looked at him, still completely dumbfounded. He smirked, although it didn’t seem cocky this time, it just seemed genuine.

“So what? Is this where you take me into the middle of nowhere and murder me?” I teased

“C’mon.” He said shaking his head and holding out his empty hand. I reluctantly took it and we started walking into a giant field, but we didn’t stop like I thought we would. Instead we started walking into a wooded area and now I wasn’t so sure about this.

“Where are we going? Cause I’m not really into this whole walking in the woods in the darkness thing.”

“We’re almost there.” After another five minutes we were near a clearing, and a little further ahead I saw what looked like a train, sitting there.

“What are we doing here?” He didn’t answer me, all he did was keep pulling me towards the train. “Michael I am not breaking and entering into this train.”

“Relax, it’s been broken down for years, it doesn’t get used, I come here all the time.”

“All the time as in, you bring girls here all the time? What is this, where you take girls to fuck them? I have news for you, that’s not gonna happen. I’m not gonna be another one of your sexual conquests. That’s just not going to happen. so if that’s what you think you can take me home right now.”

“That’s not what I think. And no I don’t bring girls here. I come here by myself. I like to write songs out here and think. You’re the first girl I’ve brought here, I thought you would like it.”

“And why would I like this?”

“Because it’s outside, and you like being outside, you like looking at the stars, and this is the best place I know to do that.” He said pulling open the car door and stepping up inside setting everything down before helping me up. Now I understood, the ceiling was missing and you could see all the stars perfectly. He shut the door and started setting up whatever he had in the basket. I could see he’d already pretty much made it his own, a few band posters hung up on the walls, there were pillows, some empty beer bottles, battery powered fairy lights hung up around the top, and there were countless other items he’d collected over I didn’t know how much time. I sat down on the blanket he set down, against a few of the pillows and stretched my legs out crossing them. He sat down next to me pulling out a bottle of sparkling water and two glasses. See here he was confusing me again. If I would have guessed I would have said he’d bring like, wine, or beer, or something that contained alcohol.

“Okay, I’m so confused by you.”

“Why? What’s confusing?”

“Because sometimes you’re an ass, but you keep doing sort of decent things, and I guess I don’t really get it. Who are you? Like are you actually a jerk or is that some front you put on? Do you mean anything you say? Or is the whole bad-ass thing an act? Or are you actually a jerk who just wants to get in my pants?”

“I’m not a jerk that just wants to get in your pants. I know it seems like I have a reputation but it’s not what it sounds like. I’m not a bad guy.”

“So then what’s with the way you act when other people are around? What’s with the stupid “I’m a bad-ass thing” you do?”

“If people think you’re a dick they don’t mess with you. If they think I’m trouble it just means I don’t have to deal with expectations and no one bothers me. I’m free to do what I want.”

“Then how come last weekend you were all, “I wanna corrupt you” I said mocking him.

“Oh I meant that. I might not be an asshole, but I like breaking rules. I want you to let loose and have fun for once in your life.”

“You don’t know my life, partying and breaking rules doesn’t automatically equal fun.”

“I know that you maintain straight A’s, your parents expect a lot from you, and you spend a lot of your free time studying. You’re under a lot of pressure. I know you never get to have any fun, and breaking rules and partying is the best way to have fun.”

“And that’s where we disagree. I don’t find waking up with a bitch of a hangover fun. I don’t like being out of control of myself. That’s when bad stuff happens.”

“Somehow I don’t believe you. “

“It’s true. And when you’re fucked up you don’t appreciate the little stuff.”

“I think you can. When I’m stoned everything is a million times more amazing.”

“But that’s not real, and then everything in reality just seems mediocre.”

“Have you ever even been high before though?” He asked raising an eyebrow at me.

“No and I don’t plan on it. I don’t want the appreciation I have for all the beauty in the world to be tainted by messing with the chemicals in my brain.”

“See that’s another thing I like about you, you know what you think about things. You’re the first girl I’ve met in a while that isn’t afraid of disagreeing with me.”

“No point in pretending I think you’re right when you aren’t.” I shrugged.

“What else do I need to know about you?”

“You seem to think you have me all figured out. So what do I need to know about you? And how do you even know all of that?”

“You know your neighbor across the street? Calum? He’s like my best friend and he plays bass in my band. What do you wanna know?”

It was silent for a minute and then I just had to ask, “Why’d you bring a guitar? and to be honest, I don’t really know him. I’ve seen him a couple times, but I didn’t even know his name. I know his sister better, and we’ve spoken like 5 times since they moved here.”

“Ah, well” He said reaching for the case and opening it. “Personally, I don’t think there is anything more romantic than an acoustic guitar.”

“I still don’t get it, what’s your angle here?”

“My angle? There is no angle. I just want you to like me.”

“Why? Why is how I feel about you important? It shouldn’t damage your ego that much if I don’t like you.”

“That’s where you’re wrong. Even though you’ve never noticed me, I’ve had a thing for you, for a long time. I think you are really interesting, and beautiful and smart, you’re sorta perfect.” He said scratching the back of his head and looking up at me shyly.

“You’re wrong about that, I’m not perfect. Nobody is perfect. Perfect isn’t real. I hate the word perfect.” I said biting my lip and looking up at the stars. “Play me something?”  He started picking and strumming and it took me a moment to recognize what it was he was playing. He was playing ‘There Is A Light That Never Goes Out’ by The Smiths. I couldn’t say I wasn’t impressed, it was one of my favorite songs. “How’d you know?”

“Know what?”

“That, that’s one of my favorite songs?”

“See now I know you’re perfect. That is my all time favorite song.”

“Why because it’s tragic?”

“No because it’s about loving someone so much that you realize life isn’t even worth living without them, and if you died with them, you could die happy. Tragedy isn’t beautiful, it’s fucking awful, and this world is full of it. I like it because the point is, sometimes you meet someone who even in the darkest of times makes it a little brighter and you can feel confident in knowing even when you’re feeling your worst, and you think there isn’t anything good left, you know in the back of your mind that there’s always a bright place in the darkness.” This was a side of him that I really, really liked. One that was thoughtful and deep. One that was real and vulnerable. I know you can’t catch feelings, but I’d caught them.

“Well, for the record, I don’t hate you. So if that was your goal you’ve achieved it.” The same genuine smirk tugged on the corner of his lips as he put his guitar down. I was about to ask him about his band when my phone rang. It was my Dad and he wanted me home. “Hi- I told you I- okay- alright- be there as soon as I can- yes she has to drive me home, she picked me up- okay- okay- bye”

“What was that about? She?”

“My Dad, he wants me home. I’m sorry, but we’ve gotta go, otherwise I’m dead. I maybe sort of lied and told my parents I was going out with a girlfriend tonight.”

“The good girl lied? I’m impressed. I’m corrupting you already aren’t I? Why did you though? And seriously it’s only 11? Do you have to be home right now?”

“I had to lie. They’d never let me go out if they knew I was with you. Just take me home please?”

“What’s that suppose to mean? I’ll take you home, only if you promise you’ll go out with me again?”

“It means they would take one look at you and freak. You know what? Okay.”

“Why would they freak out?”

“Well, let’s start with the fact that you have bright red hair, you have tattoos on your fingers, you have an eyebrow pierced, you wear a leather jacket. You sort of scream I’m gonna ruin your daughter’s life.” I laughed. “To them anyways.”

“Oh yeah? And to you?”

“I’ll let you know. I haven’t decided yet.” As he drove me home, I felt something I’d never felt. Maybe he really wasn’t the jerk everyone made him out to be? When we pulled into the driveway, I wasn’t sure what to do. Do I kiss him? Do I not? “So uhm, I guess I’ll see you? Thanks for tonight.” I said getting out and heading towards my front door.

“Wait a second.” He said getting out behind me and catching up to me and taking my hand, looking down into my eyes. “I uhm, I had a really great time tonight.” He said moving a strand of hair away from my face. He was about to kiss me wasn’t he? When his lips reached mine I felt my stomach erupting with butterflies, this kiss was electric. He had no idea it was my first kiss ever, and it was one to remember, in such a good way. When he pulled away the genuine smile was once again taking over his expression, as I gently bit the inside of my bottom lip. “So I’ll call you.” He said winking and walking away. I rolled my eyes smiling to myself, as I went inside. When I walked inside my Dad was sitting at the kitchen table reading the news paper.

“How was your night? Besides being late for curfew? Which by the way means you’re grounded for the rest of the weekend.” He said not even glancing up from his paper.

“I’m sorry I’m late, really. We were just talking and I lost track of time. It won’t happen again. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.”  I headed up the stairs into my bedroom and I looked out my window across the street at the Hood’s house. If they were best friends and I’d never really noticed either one of them. I guess it was due to the fact that my nose was always buried in a book, or I was too busy doing homework to notice anything around me. I’m terrible in that way, it’s true. My parents have me essentially only focused on school and my grades and getting into a good college. I wasn’t even allowed to have a job because they wanted me to be studying. It did get tiring, trying to be the ‘perfect daughter’, and the ‘perfect student.’ I hated the word perfect and that’s who Michael thought I was, he thought I was perfect and that’s not what I want. I don’t want people to think I’m perfect, nobody is. I just have to keep it together, I don’t have another choice. I also don’t have anything to complain about, my parents want what’s best for me and they give me everything. There are kids out there who don’t have that kind of support. I don’t want to be ungrateful, and I just want to make them proud. After tonight, however I was truly reconsidering my life choices. He made me feel alive, and I didn’t feel like I had to be anything but myself with him. It was something I’d never felt before.

So my hand slipped again oops and i made myself a new series

It always starts when away missions go awry.

This time, Spock’s been hit with a curse (and Jim phasered that bitch into the wall) and now his skin’s bubbling and turning gray and he’s shrinking as they beam up -

“Spock!” he gasps, kneeling next to him First Officer on the transporter platform. “Tell me, what’s going on?”

And Spock is opening and closing his mouth, and Jim almost reels back because Spock’s teeth are turning small and pointy and -

“Captain,” Scotty frowns, “is that… a tail?”

Jim frowns. Where Spock had been sprawled, there is now just his uniform. And a bulge. A moving bulge.

A tiny gray kitten head pokes out of the neck of the blues.

“No way!” Jim crows delightedly, picking up the tiny cat and putting it on his knee. “No way!”

“Cap’n, ya seem pretty pleased with this development,” Scotty snickers.

Jim’s smile disappears. “My First Officer is a cat.”

“Tha’ he is, sir.”

“Scotty. My First Officer is a cat.”

“He most certainly is.”

Bones rushes into the room, hypospray and gurney at the ready. “You called for medical - ” He stops short. “Is that a… kitten?”

“It was Mr. Spock,” Jim nods. “Now – he, sorry – now my First Officer is a cat.”

“Now that’s one adorable little kitten,” Bones says, moving forward to crouch beside Jim and Spock. “Are you sure that your logical, stoic, decidedly not cute Vulcan First Officer managed to transform into that incredibly lovable little kitten?”

The kitten hisses, millimeter-long teeth bared.

Jim scratches absently behind one of Spock’s black ears. “Now, Bones. Who’s to say Mr. Spock isn’t cute sometimes?”

The entire transporter room descends into a deadpan silence.

Jim clears his throat. “He was hit with a spell. I’m hoping it’ll fade.”

Bones raises an eyebrow.

“I phasered the witch who cursed him kind of a lot.” He picks up a tiny white paw and shakes it. Needle-sharp claws dig into his skin. “Ow, Spock!” He sticks his tongue out. “Is there a veterinarian on board?”

“Nurse Chapel has some experience in veterinary clinics,” Bones says. “She could help.”

Jim stands and hands Bones the kitten Spock. “Take him to her and have her make sure he’s completely healthy. I think there are a few Ensigns with cat allergies… that’s Yim and A’Sharw, correct?”

“Lieutenant Cinser has a mild allergy,” Bones says, standing with Spock cradled in his arms. “I’ll make sure to have medication for those three and could you just make an announcement regarding it?”

“My pleasure,” Jim says, grinning.

Bones strokes the kitten, who yawns.

Scotty looks delighted.

I just created myself a new series.
