17 Girls [2011]

17 Girls focuses on 17 year old Camille [Louise Grinberg] and her group of friends as they decide to stray from their parents’ path and get pregnant.  Their decision starts a trend and soon up to 17 girls in their school are pregnant.

I enjoyed this film because so often do we get films about teens rebelling in some way or another and regretting it, teaching the audience that rebellion only leads to despair.  "17 Girls", however, focuses on the girls themselves, their plan leading up to their action and how they handle the critique of their parents, classmates, and loved ones.

Easily in my top ten for foreign films.
