I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how no one, absolutely no one, supported Victor when he went off to be a coach. He was actually excited for the first time in an age, probably nervous, and no one cared; everyone told him he was making a huge mistake and made fun of him, and when he made his debut no one ever wanted to hear about his coaching or his choreography, they just asked him over and over about when he was going to, essentially, stop messing around and get back to the ice.

Fortunately it’s not *too* sad because we all know how it worked out and how happy he was to be with Yuri; but I still wish someone had acknowledged that he’d done so well.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m really looking forward to seeing Victor skate again, but I hope he finally gets some acknowledgement for the success he made of being a coach (through, I hope, Yuri’s continuing success). I’m hoping he can make a go of being a skater and a coach, to prove all the naysayers wrong, and also because it’s what he wants to do and what will make him happy.

Ok but I’ve been binge watching the Narnia movies again, after not having seen them for a long ass time, and now, being a little older and (hopefully) a little more mature than I was when I first saw them, I always feel physically sick when I see the Pevensies being children after The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe because they just aren’t anymore and I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like, to grow up as kings and queens, respected and important, and full of duty, only to go back to being 8 years old (in Lucy’s case).

They didn’t remember England, or the wardrobe, or their old lives, they were Narnians and they were pushed back, not only into a world that was bound to make them miserable, but also into bodies that couldn’t reflect what they’d been through.

Just imagine Peter, waking up in the morning, not remembering that he isn’t the Magnificent anymore, imagine him subconsciously reaching for something to trim his beard, only to remember that it isn’t there anymore, to expect old battle wounds to hurt until he realises that they can’t because he doesn’t have them.

Or Edmund, who left England a stubborn selfish little boy who only wanted his mummy back, and came back the Just, the redeemed traitor, the diplomat, the man, having to resort to being ten years old and probably not even allowed to peek at a newspaper because he’s just a child after all. He plays chess, incredibly well, he doesn’t mock his siblings anymore and all the friends he knew when he was still a boy are either irritated at his behaviour or too childish, too selfish for somebody who knows very well just what selfishness can do, who has a part of the White Witch in him, always.

Susan forgets, we all know that. She must’ve lain awake at night, remembering just what it felt like to cover pain and viciousness and gore with a smile and a blush, remembering being the Gentle, but never in war. She must’ve cried for all the lost years, for all that she learnt and that she can never forget, for all that she has accomplished, that will bring her nothing in this world that doesn’t feel like hers. So she sits down in front of a mirror, talks herself out of believing, telling herself that it wasn’t real, that it was just a dream, that this Narnia her siblings talk about is nothing but a game.
The truth is too terrifying, to devastating to face.

Lucy, little Lucy, who grew up under Mr Tumnus’ smiles and Aslan’s approving gaze, who was loved by all, who did learn how to rule, how to negotiate but who never forgot just what it means to be a queen of Narnia, this girl who matured into a woman, who had a woman’s mind and body and a queen’s grace, she who they called the Valiant, the lion’s daughter, she shrank into herself, into a child, younger than even her siblings. She remembers, clearest of them all, she is the only one who still knows Mr Tumnus’ face, still knows Aslan, but she is just a girl, a pretty little thing who will never be the queen she was, who will never be the woman she was because queenship forms a person in ways no schools can.

They must’ve been devastated when they tumbled to the floor, short and small, and there’s a war they have no control over and Lucy is small, Edmund is skinny, so skinny and Peter and Susan have lost their glow and they’ve changed, they’ve changed so much. (The first time, somebody calls them by just their names, they feel invalidated and small. And offended. They’re kings and queens, they’ve earned their titles and now they have to sit in a dim room filled with children and listen to teachers, have to allow themselves to be insignificant and nothing more than what they were when Lucy first stepped into Narnia - frightened children in the middle of a war they wish was never there in the first place)

#can we talk about this please? #jace has previously mentioned that he doesn’t drink #and now he uses drinking and sleeping around as a coping mechanism to try to internalize everything #especially the whole clary situation #it hurts seeing him this broken #and the fact that no one has outright asked him how he is feeling after everything he has been through makes it even worse #can he please be happy

ok but im still amazed that shiro is canonically the person that keith “desperately wants to see” and is literally his Greatest Hope and the closest thing he has to family. his one friend prekerberos. the person who shaped his world so much keith literally says shiro changed his life. And he really listens to what shiro says,  retains his advice and then repeats those words back to himself for comfort. Its also pretty heavily implied losing shiro, losing his anchor, is what prompted his “disciplinary issue” that got him kicked out of the garrison. And we know that after he left he said he felt lost, went wondering around the desert in search of some kind of purpose. But then he felt some arrival happening, something Big finally coming, something that would maybe turn his life around. And just 

so much time and care was put into building up their character development together. and theres also this almost fairytale kind of aspect of “fated” meetings–not just keith knowing something was coming back to earth, but ive also seen people point out the “blade of marmora is with you” line and how keith is the one who cuts him free. And the fact that they can both pilot black, meaning their quintessence is at least compatible to some degree. And actually, since keith has already been able to sense other lions’ quintessence–he felt blue a whole year before its own pilot–and that lions have to have the same energy as their pilot, then i dont think its a stretch to say sensing other paladins would be pretty much the same as sensing their lions. we know shiro’s quintessence is somewhat close to his, so maybe keith will be the one to find shiro. just like before

  • what she means: why do people hate ron weasley for having such human reactions? why can't they understand he was raised in near poverty and didn't feel like he had any special talents compared to his brothers? it's like people want realistic characters until they're presented with one. it would have been so boring if ron didn't have jealousy and doubt and faltering confidence. he could've been written off as a one-dimensional best friend character but that's not how life works. so many people can identify with ron, he adds a different level to the friendship that creates tension but also makes the golden trio way more meaningful because through all the crap they go through they are always together in the end. how on earth would a perfect, unrealistic ron be any better? and i'm not even done sit down we have at least 500 more pages to go, janice pull up a chair it's going to be a long night

also me: he fucking owns the tatooine farmboy poncho chic look. he fucking works it. that bucket hat makes the whole look come together flawlessly. he looks 1285% fab and he knows it too. i hope he starts a clothing line of stylish ponchos for every occasion. he is the fashion icon hero the galaxy truly needs. padme would be so proud.

i mean can you blame him????

the thing that i love about jonas and eva being endgame is the fact that the beginning of their new relationship completely contrasts the beginning of their old one. instead of ditching and hurting people to be with one another and setting the foundation for toxicity and trust issues, they’re the ones who are left behind by others only to return to one another. they return to one another with feelings that perhaps never truly left them but feelings that were sacrificed for the sake of themselves, their growth, and their development as people. eva became a girl who no longer requires others to see her worth as a person, she is a girl who can forgive and love herself and breathe knowing she’s made it through. her own opinion is continuing to grow. jonas was a boy who went from mistreating the girl he liked to letting her go and holding back his feelings for her own sake and growing through the friendships he’s made by listening and supporting his friends. by forgiving eva for what happened and never letting that take away his respect for her. now they’re in a place where they can begin with a clean slate and clean souls but with the same feelings they’ve held back for so long. im so so proud of them. 

now that the Haters ™ have come out of the woodwork to whine about the batcat proposal, some complaints i keep hearing again and again are that this marriage is bad for selina because she’ll be stuck in some domestic role and that she doesn’t get enough out of their relationship and batcat shippers only care about bruce??? which honestly couldn’t be further from the truth.

so here, my friends, are some reasons batcat is a good pairing for selina and how their relationship has positively affected her growth as a character

first off, as most selina fans know, while our girl talks a big game, she still deals with a fair amount of self-loathing and often talks about herself in a negative way. 

i’m too lazy to flip through my entire comics collection, but suffice it to say, there have also been multiple times when selina has called herself ‘street trash’, ‘not a good person’, or just plain ‘bad’. she sometimes plays it off as part of her bravado, but look at her facial expressions when she says stuff like this. at best, she’s resigned, and at worst, she looks downright heartbroken.

selina has been looked down on her entire life and used like a tool by others–to the point where at times she feels like the only positive thing about her is that she’s a master thief.

bruce, on the other hand, doesn’t let selina get away with talking about herself like that. bruce is someone who always, always believes the best of her, even when she feels like she doesn’t deserve it. someone who reminds her that she’s actually a compassionate and selfless person capable of great things.

• there is So Much Screen Time. Like, holy fuck. They get so much attention and?? wow
• emily andras. holy shit i have never see a show creator so aggressively supportive of the main wlw ship. i love her so much.
• kat and dom?? they’re such good actors oh my god?? and they’re so supportive of wayhaught and have a good friendship and wow i Love them. they also go to cons and talk about the ship?? good shit
• it’s not perfect. they have flaws like any normal couple. for example, waverly being possessed by a demon,
• this is just me being gay but both of them are Incredibly attractive
• both of the individual characters have their own plots outside of the relationship and have their own thoughts and feelings unrelated to the relationship. like, they’re real people holy shit. neither of them are reduced to just “the girlfriend”
• wlw shooting guns????? and being overall badass??? good shit
• it’s not rushed!! and you actually see the first time they meet and their first kiss and their first time wow
• nicole’s bulletproof vest basically saying a fuck you to all the shows killing off their lesbian characters
• it’s healthy!! and good for both of them!!!
• the show it’s on is actually good outside of the ship
• theres other things, but yeah. feel free to add more
