Excuse the fangirling, but ASDSDFGHDAFSGHFJASUYTRBRJHRTURTURURIURTUYHJKGHJGDBSFNVH JACK FUCKING WHITE KHDSGJJKSDAHJSD.
I’ve been a fan since about 2007, he was one of the first musicians who really got me into music. It feels like i’ve waited forever to see him in the flesh and IT WAS DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT.
It was pretty late and I was quite drunk when we arrived, but early and coherent enough to be about 6 rows from the front, before he started. YAY.
Here’s a list of everything that made me particularly excited:
THE blue jacket.
The Los Buzzardos (I was secretly hoping for The Peacocks) But it’s alright because the drummer was insanely fucking great plus I loved Cory Younts in his suit, on tambourine!
So many White Stripes songs! I never thought I would ever get to experience them live, The Hardest Button To Button and HOTEL YORBA, I TELL YOU!!
I CUT LIKE A BUFFALO. I CUT LIKE A FUCKING BUFFALO.… In my ears, LIVE.
Trash Tongue Talker (one of my favourites), anything with Jack on piano is wonderful.
Jacks cute little faces and dance moves. PLEASE LET ME LOVE YOU JACK
HIS ACCENT. It’s so cute and askfhgdsaj when he said “god bless” it just sounded so perfect!
And even the roadies were dressed impeccably, with little hats and suits! One even had a seriously bitchin’ beard.
However, as amazing as it was:
I was right next to the huge speakers (so it’s kinda my own fault), and his guitar seemed really loud in comparison to everything else, and it drowned out his wonderful voice a lot of the time. I know it’s supposed to be played way loud, but I wish his microphone was turned up some more.
I was also hoping he’d play some more piano, and HE DIDN’T PLAY I Guess I Should Go To Sleep!! (which made me sad, but the piano on Trash Tongue Talker was so amazing, he can be forgiven, ha!)
ANYWAY, here’s me this morning, tired, a little hungover, but fucking amazed I got to see/hear/witness THE musical GOD that is, the one and only, Jack White.
