it’s hard, being single and feeling like it’ll last forever. but one day, you’re going to meet her, and there’s so much for you to look forward to when it happens.
you’re going to have your first kiss together. it could happen on your first date, when it goes so well neither of you want to leave and you linger and linger until you reluctantly part for the last train, and your goodbye is a kiss. it could happen after several months, when things get serious and you’re up at midnight with her, sitting outside under the moonlight and not noticing the cold at all with her at your side.
you’ll get to celebrate so many anniversaries. one month, one year, and beyond. think of all the times you’ll get to browse stores looking for the perfect gift. think of how good it will feel when you make her a gift on your own, a poem or a song or a vase full of handpicked flowers. that you can express your love with these physical representations will make it seem more real, more enduring.
you’ll get to know her body better than anyone. you’ll know how she sounds at the height of pleasure, but you’ll also know how she feels on a lazy morning when neither of you want to get out of bed, so you stay there cuddling until noon. you’ll know when she wants to hold hands, when she wants a second kiss, when she needs a massage, and you’ll be the one privileged to touch her.
maybe you’ll even propose to her one day. you’ll secretly borrow one of her rings to get the perfect size and choose something unconventional, maybe a shiny red gem against gold or a brightly colored band, something as unique as she is. or maybe she’ll propose to you, a surprise finale to what you think is a normal date, and you’ll be saying yes through happy tears before she even finishes the question.
she’s out there, and she wants to meet you as much as you want to meet her.
I commissioned a modern Tarzan and Jane from the incredibly talented @punziella and here’s the final result!! I couldn’t be happier with it, it’s absolutely perfect and I just love it so so much I can’t stop staring at it, thank you so much Pauline!!
