look how happy you were sigh

I’ve been contemplating for several days something, and I’ve been trying to distill it into meaning, and put nice little bullet points on how this relates to things that have been bugging me about some common Discourses I’ve been seeing, but at the end, I only really have a story. So here, have a story.

About ten years ago, sometime in the eventful 2006-2007 George W. Bush-ruled hellscape of my identity development, I was just starting to figure out how I felt about my conservative upbringing (not great) and whether I was some brand of queer (probably, but too scared to think about what brand for too long). I was working as a server at a popular Italian-inspired sit-down restaurant that was the closest thing my tiny South Carolinian town had to “fancy” at the time but isn’t really fancy at all.

The host brought a party of four men to one of my tables. It was hard to tell their ages, but my guess is they were teenagers or in their early 20s in the 1980s. Mid-40s, at the time. It was standard to ask if anyone at the table was celebrating anything, so I did. They said they were business partners celebrating a great business deal and would like a bottle of wine.

It was a fairly busy night so I didn’t have a LOT of time to spend at their table, but they were nice guys. They were polite and friendly to me, they didn’t hit on me (as most men were prone to do – sometimes even in front of their girlfriends, a story I’ll tell later if anyone wants me to), and they were racking up a hell of a tab that was going to make my managers happy, so I checked on them as often as I could.

Toward the end of their second bottle of wine, as they were finishing their entrees, I stopped at the table and asked if they wanted any more drinks or dessert or coffee. They were well and truly tipsy by now, giggling, leaning back in their chairs – but so, so careful not to touch each other when anyone was near the table.

They’re all on the fence about dessert, so being a good server, I offered to bring out the dessert menu so they could glance it over and make a decision, “Since you’re celebrating.”

“She’s right!” one of the men said, far too emphatically for a conversation on dessert. “It’s your anniversary! You should get dessert!”

It was like a movie. The whole table went absolutely silent. The clank of silverware at the next table sounded supernaturally loud. Dean Martin warbled “That’s Amore” in some distorted alternate universe where the rest of the restaurant went on acting like this one tipsy man hadn’t just shattered their carefully crafted cover story and blurted out in the middle of a tiny, South Carolina town, surrounded by conservatives and rednecks, that they were gay men celebrating a relationship milestone.

And I didn’t know what I was yet, but I knew I wasn’t an asshole, and I knew these men were family, and I felt their panic like a monster breathing down all our necks. It’s impossible to emphasize how palpably terrified they were, and how justified their terror was, and how much I wanted them to be happy.

So I did the only thing I knew to do. I said, “Congratulations! How many years?”

The man who’d spoken up burst into tears. His partner stood up and wrapped me in the tightest, warmest hug I’ve ever had – and I’ve never liked being touched by strangers, but this was different, and I hugged him back.

“Thank you,” he whispered, halfway to crying himself. “Thank you so much.”

When he finally let go of me and sat back down, they finally got around to telling me they were, in fact, two couples on a double date, and both celebrating anniversaries. Fifteen years for one of them, I think, and a few years off for the other. It’s hard to remember. It was a jumble of tears and laughter and trembling relief for all of us. They got more relaxed. They started holding hands – under the table, out of sight of anyone but me, but happy.

They did get dessert, and I spent more time at their table, letting them tell me stories about how they met and how they started dating and their lives together, and feeling this odd sense of belonging, like I’d just discovered a missing branch of my family.

When they finally left, all four of them took turns standing up and hugging me, and all four of them reached into their wallets to tip me. I tried to wave them off but they insisted, and the first man who’d hugged me handed me forty dollars and said, “Please. You are an angel. Please take this.”

After they left I hid in the bathroom and cried because I couldn’t process all my thoughts and feelings.

Fast forward to three days ago, when my own partner and I showed up to a dinner reservation at a fancy-casual restaurant to celebrate our fifth anniversary. The whole time I was getting ready to leave, there was a worry in the back of my mind. The internet web form had asked if the reservation was celebrating anything in particular, and I’d selected “Anniversary.” I stood in the bathroom blow-drying my hair, wondering what I would do if we showed up, two women, and the host or the server took one look at us and the “Anniversary” designation on our reservation and refused to serve us. It’s not as ubiquitous anymore, but we’re still in the south, and these things still happen. Eight years of progressive leadership is over, and we’ve got another conservative despot in office who’s emboldening assholes everywhere.

It was on my mind the whole fifteen minutes it took to drive there. I didn’t mention it to my partner because I didn’t want to cast a shadow over the occasion. More than that, I didn’t want to jinx us, superstitious bastard that I am.

We walked into the restaurant. I told the hostess we had a reservation, gave her my last name.

She looked at her screen, then looked back at us. She smiled, broadly and genuinely, and said, “Happy anniversary! Your table is right this way.”

Our server greeted us, said, “I heard you were celebrating!”

“It’s our anniversary,” Kellie said, and our server gasped, beaming.

“That’s great! Congratulations! How many years?”

And I finally breathed a sigh of relief, and I thought about those men at that restaurant ten years ago. I hope they’re still safe and happy, and I hope we all get the satisfaction of helping the world keep blooming into something that’s not so unrelentingly terrible all the time.

Imagine Mary realizing both of her sons, Sam and Dean, are in love with the same girl, you.

“Morning.” Sam mumbled as he walked into the kitchen and saw you, Mary and Castiel there, you still cooking the pancakes and her setting everything else up for breakfast with Castiel’s help.

“Morning sweetie.” Mary smiled up at him as he leaned down to kiss her cheek before he turned to take a good look at you.

“Wow” he breathed out and you looked at him for a second before in the end giggling as you tucked a few strands of hair behind your ear.

“What?” you asked, looking up at the older man as he blinked rapidly, staring at you almost awestruck. You glanced at his mother that was still there but luckily was not looking at the two of you.

“You just- I never thought you’d look this good in my clothes.” he said with an adorable dimpled smile as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

You laughed looking back at the food, after glancing down at yourself for a moment. You weren’t in the mood for trying really hard so along with the messy hair you had stolen one of Sam’s flannels that could work as a dress for you and wore it. It was a nice chance compared to you wearing always Dean’s shirts. There was something similar in this, both their clothes made you feel at peace, they had a certain scent to them that brought the same kind of comfort their hugs did but at the same time that scent was so different. And it reminded you instantly of whose clothes you were wearing.

“Thanks” you bit your lip, opting to look only at the pancakes as you felt your cheeks heat up. You had a soft spot for the younger Winchester, you couldn’t deny that, you were really close and had many things in common. He was sweet and kind, gentle and caring. You knew that when you needed to talk to someone he would always be there for you. You were like a little sister to him, as far as you knew at least, even if for you he meant a lot more than just family. But you weren’t going to do something to risk what you had, you’d much rather bottle up your feelings than ruin all of this.

Besides, he wasn’t the only one involved in all of this.

“But- if you want it back I could give it. I’m sorry I didn’t ask I just- it looked too comfy and I-” you started rambling, trying to find an excuse for yourself but he shook his head.

“No, no no!” he said a little too fast and you bit your lip at his reaction “By all means-” he breathed out “-You can keep it, it looks better on you anyway.” he said adorably and you grinned.

“Thank you Sammy.” you stood on your tiptoes and kissed his cheek, making his smile even wider.

“So- what do you want with your pancakes, you didn’t tell me?” you asked and he paused in thought for a moment.

“Uhm I think I’ll go with some eggs today.” he paused in thought.

“Do you want me to make them?” you asked, ready to start on them already but he shook his head with a laugh.

“No you already do enough for us.” he pecked your forehead “I’ll do that myself.” he winked and started working on them next to you as you still laughed and chatted happily.

“You know I love taking care of you anyway.” you mumbled with a shy shrug and he smiled warmly.

“Yes, and I know it. But it’s not bad if you take a break once in a while and let us do all the work.” he said matter of factlyand you just shrugged “You know you deserve it.”

“Not as much as you guys do honestly I-” you shook your head, flipping another pancake.

“Dare you complete that sentence.” it was Dean’s stern voice but the moment you looked at him he had a small smile on. You sighed, knowing you weren’t going to win this fight against both of them so you just shook your head.

Oh and he also happened to be the other person involved.

“Morning guys.” he greeted as he kissed Mary and came towards you, not missing a chance to wrap his arms around your waist.

A small squeak left your lips as he pressed his body against yours and you both chuckled in the end as he kissed the back of your head “Damn smells amazing.” he breathed out as he looked over at the pancakes.

“Thought you’d like them, and in case you are not really into pancakes today I made some cherry pie for you.” you smirked and he looked at you with a wide grin.

“Gosh” he breathed out with wide eyes that made him look like a little kid on Christmas day “Marry me!” he grinned and you laughed.

“You’d have to take me out first, Winchester!” you said as you heard him laugh as he squeezed you, burying his face in your hair.

“Anytime princess.” he mumbled, nuzzling his face before in the end he leaned down and kissed your neck.

You giggled as his morning scruff tickled you and you turned your head to peck his cheek, making him smile down at you. It felt so refreshing to see him like this. It has been such a long while since you saw Dean so carefree.

Of course you had gotten the chance to see him relax sometimes, when it was just the two of you and he’d let loose, but those moments were rare. It mostly was you holding him as you either sat in silence or he talked to you about a nightmare- or whatever was worrying him at the moment.

Your relationship with Dean was different from that of Sam. While with Sam you were all playful, most of the time, and acted all cute together: watching movies, reading books and talking about all kinds of nerdy stuff your relationship with Dean was more contact and less words. You’d spent many nights in each other’s rooms just holding each other, gazing into each other’s eyes like some love-sick couple – well you were love sick you couldn’t deny it at least to yourself – and only sometimes talking. Dean wasn’t really a man of words so when it came to just the two of you he talked about only the things that troubled him. But even the few words were enough for you to get a look into his world. Heck, the mere fact that he trusted you with his thoughts and feelings was enough to let you know how important you were to him.

Of course there were serious moments with Sam as well, he too trusted you with his worries as well, and as that there were funny moments with Dean. Both brothers were very similar but at the same time your relationship with each of them was completely different. Each one of them completed a side of you that in returned completed them as well.

“Hey you two-” Sam’s voice got Dean’s attention. You looked at him to, luckily, see he had a small smile on his face “You’re not alone alright?”

“Sadly” Dean added and you giggled as Sam shot him a bitch-face.

“Why don’t you prove yourself useful and and prepare some bacon huh?” Sam obviously found an excuse to get him away from you.

“Oooh yes, love me some bacon!” Dean said with a glint in his eyes and you chuckled at how childish he was being.

“But first-” he said cupping your face as he leaned down and kissed your forehead, his lips much like Sam’s previously lingered a little longer than they should have. He looked down into your eyes, exactly like Sam had done, and offered you one last gentle smile before going back to playful him and started working on his bacon.

The three of you still talked and laughed as you had each Winchester on each side of you. Her sons’ laughter caught Mary’s attention and this time she took a real good look at the three of you. For a second she smiled fondly at how childlike you were all being, happy that her kids looked so carefree around you, but when realization downed on her hersmile faded away.

“Mary?” Castiel’s low voice caught her attention as she looked at the angel.

“Are you alright?” he asked with a small frown.

“Should I be Castiel?” she sighed sadly “I mean, how can I even be? At first I was happy about Dean but now- seeing this-Knowing that my one son’s happiness depends on the other’s grief- how can I be happy?”

“What- what do you mean?” Castiel frowned with a tilt of his head and she looked from the three of you to him.

“I thought seeing my sons fall in love would be something great. I just didn’t know it was going to be with the same girl.”

I love PTA Sans. No matter the AU.

The water was warm against your freezing skin, the bubbles up to your chin and jostling whenever you moved your legs. The air was faintly filled with the sounds of cars driving by on the streets down below, the tires splashing in the puddles of leftover rain. The room was dimly illuminated, your wet hand glistening on the edge of the tub when the candle on the sink flickered patches of light onto your arm, giving it life when it felt so dull. Everything smelled like oranges and vanilla, your skin, your hair, even the bubbles threatening to spill over the edge of the porcelain. It all seemed relaxing, in theory. It was supposed to feel nice and like a reward after a long day, but in reality it was making you want to rip your hair from your scalp.

Because in the silent solitude all you could think about was Chanyeol.

Not So Picture Perfect || Kian Lawley Imagine (Requested)

“Literally all I want to do is go home. I really don’t want to be here,” I told Callie as I worked on the gym elliptical.

“What, why? You love the gym. What’s wrong?”

“Kian flies out with Jc and Dom today for the second half of the tour and won’t be back for 3 weeks.”

“Okay, I know you love him, but it’s only 3 ½ weeks. They will fly by, especially with Maya’s birthday party and Ricky’s “I Hit One Million” Bash.”

Even though I hate to admit it, she was right. It’s just 3 lousy weeks and with the technology we have today, it will be like he never left.

“Fuck, you’re right. Did you know I hate that about you?”

“Yeah and I love you too, beyotch. Call me later, okay?”

“Alright, bye.”

I finished my 90 minute workout and headed home to see Kian for the last few hours. I grabbed my gym bag and unlocked the door to see Kian’s suitcases against the wall. I let out a sigh and called out to him.

“I’ll be there in a sec!” he yelled back. When he came into my view, I saw that he was on the phone.

“Yeah, Dude. I’ll be there in about an hour. Okay. Bye”

I gave him a confused look,”I thought your flight was at 10 tonight.”

“It was, but there was a screw up with the airline and our flight is 4:40 now.” I looked at the clock behind him and it read 1:27 pm.

“So that means you have to leave now,” I said defeated.

“Yeah, I’m sorry Baby.”

“No it’s fine, it’s not your fault. Did you need me to drive you?”

“I don’t need you to, but I definitely want you to,” he said as he embraced me.

I helped him load his bags into the car and hopped in. I couldn’t help but think that i wouldn’t have moments like this for 3 fucking weeks. I hated it, but Kian loves his fans and would do anything for them. I would never stand between that.

After what seemed like the shortest ride in history, we pulled up to his terminal. Jc and Dom were already out there waiting for us and I helped unload Kian’s things. We stood there for what felt like forever, just holding each other.

“Ugh, ew! Come on already, Vitaly’s inside!” JC whined beside us. Kian and I decided to gross him out even more and started tongue battling each other.

“God! Didn’t you guys do enough of that before he left?!” asked Dom.

“We actually didn’t,” I said to Kian, looking kind of amused.

“Well this is going to be one uncomfortable flight,” he joked.

“Speaking of flight, we gotta catch ours!” JC said.

“Fuuuck, I don’t want you to leave.”

“I know, but I’ll be back soon, okay.”

“Okay, have fun.”

“I will, I’ll call you when we land,” he said running into the airport.

“I’ll be waiting,” I said to myself.

When I arrived back to our place I was finally able to take a well needed shower. When I was done, I ordered food off of Postmates and caught up on ‘Are You The One?’ I really hated being here without Kian, but I had to remind myself that I did it during the first half and was (somewhat) fine.

My phone started to ring and I got excited when I saw that it was Kian calling.

“Hello?”

“Hey, Baby. How are you?”

“Lonely. How was the flight?”

“Pretty good. Some kid threw up though, which made Dom almost throw up.”

“Ew, but kinda awesome, haha.” Our conversation didn’t last long due to the fact that he had a long day tomorrow and it was late where he was.

I decided that it was time for me to go to bed as well and try to not be so bleh.

The next few days were getting easier and easier. Almost two weeks have already passed and Maya’s birthday party was a great distraction. I hear from Kian every night and every night I miss him more. Tonight is Ricky’s bash and I’m really excited. I took me like 4 hours to get ready, but I was almost done. I was applying the last bit of makeup when my phone buzzed.

I heard Callie come in and we naturally had to capture this moment.

That night was complete blast. I can’t stress how proud I am of Ricky T for reaching over one million youtube subscribers. Callie and I finally got back to my place and I was about to take a shower when my phone started to ring.

“Hey, I saw your Snap. You look beautiful, how was the party?”

“It was really fun, but tiring. How’s the tour going?”

“It’s good! The fans are amazing, the closer I get to coming home, the more anxious I get to be with you.”

“*Sigh* I can’t wait for you to come back.”

“I know me either, but I’ll let you get some rest and I’ll do the same. Sweet dreams, Babe.”

“You too, Kian. Good night.”

The next few days were quite boring, but Kian comes home in a little over a week and I’m so happy! I had been trying to reach him for the last few hours now, but he wasn’t picking up. I finally gave up on him and tried calling JC, but it was too loud to hold a conversation. My last resort was Vitaly who evidently was asleep and didn’t know anything.

I realized that this was the first night Kian hadn’t called me and I got a sort of uneasy feeling in my stomach. I quickly shook it off and decided to go to bed.

It was about 7:15 am when I was woken up by the constant vibration of my phone. After about 2 solid minutes, I groggily turn over and check what it is. I see that it is a bunch of Twitter notifications and I decided to open them. I see an assload of pictures of Jc with some random girl wither ass out, but that’s when I see it.

“What the fuck?” I say to myself as I read the tweets. I feel my heart drop as I see my boyfriend cradling another girl’s ass. I immediately decide to call him and of course it goes straight to voicemail.

Over the course of the next 9 days, I didn’t leave the house. Ricky and Callie came over to keep me company, but I just wanted to be alone. Kian tried calling every 5 minutes, except when he was on stage, but I ignored all of them. Even the rest of the boys were trying to contact me, but I only talked to Vitally since he wasn’t there that night. He tried to get me to talk about it, but knowing that he would relay it all to Kian, I just changed the subject.

So many people were talking about what happened, even Kian’s ex Andrea. All I could do at this point is cry and look at old photos of Kian and I.

Kian comes back tomorrow and I had to make a hasty decision. I was in the middle of my thoughts when my phone vibrated over and over again. I thought I shut that fucker off. I go look at it and I see it is the man of the hour once again.

I can’t help but smile a little bit as I cry even harder now. Is it worth letting go? Is it worth staying? Then he said it.

Those words made my decision so much easier.

“Does he make you happy like I did?” His posture , leaning slackly against the brick wall, gave every indication of indifference but his eyes pleaded with her.

“Well,” she pauses, shaking her head at the ground, “he makes me happy. It’s… Different.” He asks how with the mere raise of his eyebrows. “You made me feel everything so deeply. He makes me happy. Like… Ugh.”

His lips curve up into a smirk. He always thought she looked most gorgeous when frustrated. “Just try to explain it.” He shifts his posture slightly, crossing his arms and legs.

“He’s safe and steady. He calls when he says he will. He shows up on time, for the most part. He smiles at me like I’m a poor man’s diamond. He really loves me and he’s overall, perfect. But you.” She looks up at him with bright eyes and a smile that melts his hardened exterior. He both loved her and hated her for being able to do that. “You were a fire. No. More than that. You were the wildfire. Crazy and out of control. You made me lose myself, simultaneously creating a frenzy and a calm. It was fire and passion and… And…” She pauses and toes the red bricks with her sneaker. Her fingers rake through her hair as she releases a long-held sigh. “He makes me happy. It’s just different. He’s safe, and you’re danger.”

He steps toward her, not exactly knowing what he was planning to do. His rough hand sweeps her hair from her eyes. “Look at me.” She does, and that’s the moment she knew. No matter how much she loved the other guy it would never be the same.

“(Y/N)!” your name carried through the halls above the chatter of the student body. Eyebrows furrowed, you jerked your head out from your locker to see who was beckoning. You spotted Peter’s dark curls bobbing amongst the crowd towards you.

“(Y/N),” Peter gasped. He leant against the locker next to yours, breathing heavily.

You raised your brows in amusement. “Yes?” you asked, curious as to what would motivate Peter to run.

Peter swallowed, “I need your help.”

“With what?” you turned back to your locker to shove your math textbook inside and grab your jacket.

“Ummm… well… it’s about…” he lowered his voice to a barely audible whisper and leaned closer. “It’s about Liz.”

You tilted your head away from him slightly to hide the anguish that quickly flashed on your face. “What about Liz?” you tried to keep your voice steady and calm. A difficult feat, as you felt a pit drag your stomach and your breath catch high in your throat.

“I—I uh—well—I have a date with her,” he stammered

“What?!” you exclaimed, shocked. “Wow, Peter!” You tried to shove out any tone of sadness in your voice. You knew how much courage it must’ve taken this nervous but excited and eager romantic buzzing next to you.

“Yeah,” he breathed.

“Did you just ask her?” you guessed.

“Yeah. Yeah I did,” his ecstatic state quickly turned into a more panicked one. “But I need your help. I have no idea what to do!”

“For the date?”

“Yeah!” Shutting your locker, you swung your jacket over your shoulder and headed for the school doors. Peter bounded after you. “Please, (Y/N)!” he pleaded.

You shoved the doors open, “Why aren’t you asking Liz, though? Isn’t the date with her?” You worried that that might’ve been a bit forward in revealing your subtle bitterness.

“Well, yeah but I—I wanted to surprise her. And I can’t ask Ned ‘cause I don’t wanna mess this up, I mean no offense to him, but you know—(Y/N), you’re my only other friend who can help me!” Your stomach twisted at that word. Friend.

“When is it?”

“Friday.”

You sighed, conflicted yet sympathetic. Here he was, the best friend you had slowly but undoubtedly fallen for, asking for your help with someone else. Of course you were jealous. Of course you were dejected and feeling a bit betrayed. But of course you were going to help him. Because, dammit, you were proud and happy for him, too.

After two years of daydreaming, confiding, and awkwardly trying, he had finally gotten courage and motivation to do something about it. You saw how he lit up when she merely looked his way, how he melted whenever she said something nice to him, how jittery and nervous he got whenever he was within a ten food radius of her. You weren’t about to take that away from him just because of your unrequited feelings; because before he was ever your crush, he was your best friend.

“Okay,” you replied. Hope and relief immediately washed out all desperation on Peter’s face. You couldn’t help but smile a bittersweet smile.

“Really?!” he grinned.

“Yeah, yeah, of course!” you cheerfully affirmed. “Just, uh, come over later tonight so we can think of some ideas.”

“Thank you! Really, (Y/N), thank you so much!” Peter squeezed you in a tight hug that you half heartedly returned. He suddenly pulled away and reached for his phone. You already knew what it most likely meant, so you started past him.

“I’ll see you around seven?” you called back. Peter was already running the opposite direction.

“Uh yeah! Seven’s good!”

Groaning, you got up from your chair and stretched your arms above your head. How could simple chemistry equations somehow make your entire body ache?

You were about to plop back into your chair when a tapping came from your window. Glancing at the clock that read ten minutes past eight, you trudged over, unlocked it, and slid it up.

“Sorry I’m late; some nut job decided tonight was a good night to rob a jewelry shop.”

“Hm,” you nodded as you headed to your desk. Peter stumbled through the window, leaving it open for a quick getaway.

“Your folks home?”

“Nah,” you shrugged. “Both have meetings.”

Peter slipped his backpack off and slumped onto your bed. “So,” he rested his elbows on his knees, “Any ideas?”

You swiveled your chair around. “Not really,” you confessed. “Nothing’s really come to mind.”

Peter hung his head down, groaning, “What am I gonna do?”

“So… okay then. What do you want to do?” you inquired.

“I dunno! I was thinking maybe just dinner and a movie? Chill, not to much fancy expensive stuff…”

“No, no don’t do that. That’s typical, not surprising at all.”

“Ugh,” he muttered. “Has she ever said anything about like what her ideal date would be?”

“Don’t think so…” you racked your brain. You didn’t know Liz too well. Sure you’d shared some classes with her these past two years and had gotten to know her well enough. But you weren’t the best friend she’d confide to about relationships and dating. You also weren’t going to give up your ideal date for Peter to create for someone else.

You both sat in silence, thinking. There was a slight tension in the room that you both could sense, but it was hardly enough to make the setting awkward. You’d also never let it get to that point either.

“I know she likes picnics…” you offered. “Maybe you could get takeout from her favorite place and take her on a picnic somewhere?”

“Oh yeah…” Peter sat up. “That sounds cool!”

“And it’s not super expensive.”

“But do it kind of late-ish,” you added. “And maybe on the roof of a high building. So it’ll be darker and better for star gazing. Liz loves stars.”

“Yeah… yeah, yeah! That’s great; that’s awesome! Oh, okay okay! I got it,” Peter leapt up from your bed and raced over to embrace you once again. “Thank you, so much, (Y/N)! Thanks for being such a great friend and—and helping me and WOOH!” he whooped as he skipped to grab his bag. “I’m gonna go scope out some places…”

As he squeezed through the window you chuckled, “Okay…” That nagging feeling began to creep up on you, and you put your head in your hands. You knew the petty thoughts would begin to fill your mind soon.

You knew you shouldn’t feel jealous. You knew there was nothing you could do to change his mind. But you couldn’t stop it. You were mad at yourself for believing you could ever compete with a girl like Liz Allen. You hated having these feelings of envy and betrayal, because you knew they were futile. It was pointless; this was only going to make you feel even worse.

Okay, you told yourself. Calm down, stop thinking like that. Just be happy that he finally got his chance with Liz. Repeating this over and over didn’t help. Okay… Maybe the date will go bad— NO! No, God, why even think like that?! Okay, maybe the date will be okay but Peter will figure out he doesn’t really like her? Ugh why am I LIKE this?! You felt completely horrible when you realized you actually found solace in that last thought. Deciding you needed to just distract yourself before you could torment yourself any further, you turned back to your notebook with a sigh.

Four weeks and five dates later, wherever you saw Peter, there was Liz. Your one solace, your one hope had fallen through. Peter had begun to hang with you and Ned less and less as the weeks went by. His spontaneous midnight visits had stopped altogether, and sometimes wouldn’t even answer your texts for a good few days.

Distractions were helping less and less as well. No matter how many songs you blasted in your ear, or how many fanfics you poured over each night, or late night calls with Ned about any movie you two could find; the envy kept gnawing away at you. But poor sweet Ned. You finally broke and confided to him; keeping it in was just too much. And try as he might to help you try to get over it and keep you distracted and happy, you both knew nothing was enough.

It also didn’t help that Liz would often come to Peter when he was at his locker. Right next to yours. Even though they tried to keep their voices down to small murmurs, you could hear every sickening and sappy word pouring from their mouths.

“God, I think I love you.”

You froze, gripping the textbook as if it were your composure. That phrase had managed to slip through all the ambient noise and ruckus echoing through the hallway and reach your ears. How many times had you wished to hear those words from him, only for them to be meant for someone else?

Well you certainly didn’t hear much after that. You didn’t hear Liz’s reply, or Ned’s greeting, or your locker slam. The only thing that your ears registered was your booming heartbeat. You felt your whole body heat up, searing with anger and jealousy. You wandered away from your locker, away from them. Meandering through the crowd of students, you couldn’t think of where to go or what to do.

An obnoxious voice broke through the pulsing in your ear.

“Hurry up, move it, (Y/N)!” Flash complained as he breezed past you. “What’re you waiting for? Your imaginary boyfriend to become real?” he jeered.

A sudden drive and confidence took over you, fueled by the anger and jealousy coursing through your veins. You knew what you wanted. You wanted to make Peter hurt. Hurt like you were. And you knew just how to do it.

“Well that’s up to you, Flash!” you called. Flash whipped around, confused. It morphed into amused as you jogged over to him.

“What do you mean?” he crossed his arms.

“Pick me up, my place, Friday at seven,” you challenged. Flash’s face dropped into bewilderment. “Wear something nice,” you added, brushing past. “I expect to be wowed.” As you pushed open the school doors, smirking, you could perfectly hear the shock that rippled through the silence of the hallway. This was certainly one way to get over it.

*tap tap tap*

You startled up from your chair, not sure if you had really heard it. You went over to your window and opened the blinds revealing the red and blue figure. Sliding it open, you leaned out on your elbows, blocking him from coming in but opening yourself to conversation.

“Hey,” Peter breathed.

“Hey.”

He shuffled anxiously, tugging at the mask in his hands, “Can I talk to you?”

You shrugged, “I’m listening.”

“Why—” Peter took a deep breath. “Why’d you ask out Flash?” he timidly asked.

You stiffened. “Because.” Guilt started to take the place of resentment in your gut, but you shoved it away. You could tell he was concerned about you doing something so out of character and ridiculous on all accounts. However you refused to sway from your choice. You weren’t going to to back to sitting around moping about how he was with Liz.

“Because why?” he demanded.

“Because I can and I did.”

“But when were you interested in Flash?”

“When was it your business?”

“Since you’re my friend!”

You scoffed, hurt. “Am I?”

Peter squinted at you, “Y-Yeah. Wh—Why do you have to ask?”

“‘Cause it doesn’t feel like I’ve been!” you cried. The rest of your anger was spilling out, but with a different tone this time. This wasn’t a revenge thing or a spur of the moment vent-all-your-feelings session. This was everything that was buried deep, everything that wasn’t revealed to Ned, everything that really hurt.

“You’ve constantly ditched on stuff ‘cause you’d rather go to something else with Liz! You’ve left me and Ned hanging countless times. If it was because of Spiderman stuff, then I’d be more understanding, but it isn’t. You’ve just replaced your true friends with the girl you’ve been oogling for years!” your voice rose several octaves. “You never reply when we text, and you never answer when I need you or even when Ned does! So no, Peter, it doesn’t feel like I’m your friend anymore.”

Neither of you moved, too stunned by the words floating in the thick tension between you.

“So this is a jealousy thing.”

“What?!” you screeched. “That literally has nothing to do with what I just said—”

“No! No no no, it does!” Peter retorted. “You’re jealous because I’m spending more time with her, I get it—”

“No. You don’t.”

“No, I do! Look, I’m sorry if I’m not spending every waking moment with you guys like I used to, but it doesn’t mean we’re not friends anymore.”

“NO!” you cried. “No, Peter! It’s not because we’re not hanging out as much, it’s because we’re not hanging out at all. You’re always so distant with us now and you ignore us and—”

“I don’t ignore you guys!”

“Uh, yeah you do—”

“If I did, then I wouldn’t know that you asked Flash out, and I wouldn’t be here asking why the hell you’d ever do that!”

“Again, what the hell does it matter to you?!”

“He’s a douche!” Peter flailed his arms. “He’s an arrogant, spoiled asshole who’s so insecure that he goes around teasing people. He even teases you, (Y/N)! And you asked him out?!” He howled. Peter took a step towards your window, and you withdrew a little. “He doesn’t deserve you, (Y/N), and you don’t deserve to put up with that piece of shit—”

“You know what?” you glared at Peter, seething, blood boiling for the second time that day. “Yeah, you’re right: he’s a piece of shit who only cares about himself. But I bet he’s still gonna be a better shitty friend than you’ve been this entire month.”

Peter took a step back, appalled at what he was hearing. He pursed his lips and dropped his eyes to the ground. “Maybe we just shouldn’t be friends anymore,” he whispered.

You reached up for your window and numbly slid it shut. Knowing he could still hear you, you muttered as you closed your blinds, “I thought we already weren’t.”

SMUT WARNING

As soon as the clock turned 12, Jimin was all over you. He pulled you into his arms and didn’t let go, wishing you a happy birthday and continued talking about how thankful he is for you.

“Jimin…” You whine, trying to pull away from his grasp. He ignored you and started bouncing the leg you were sitting on.

“Yah, listen to me.” He sighed and squeezed onto your hips. He definitely caught your full attention as soon as he started moving his leg.

You looked at him as he was biting his lip. You really had no idea that Jimin was just talking about treating you with birthday sex and taking you out for dinner later.

He stopped his leg and leaned in for a kiss, as soon as your lips touched you let out a soft moan. No matter how many times you kissed, the feeling of his lips never got old. They were so soft and plump, he looked so submissive when they were red and swollen and he was slightly panting. But this was about you tonight and Jimin was going to make sure you knew that even though it was your birthday, he was still in charge and was gonna treat you tonight.

As the kiss deepened, his hands went to your shirt and unbuttoned it, revealing your dark lace bra. He pulled away and smirked as you removed your shirt, “Mm.. such a good girl. Even on your birthday. Don’t you think you deserve a treat today?”

“Yes Jimin…”

He pulled you onto his lap and leaned forward and latched his lips onto your neck, sucking on the soft skin, leaving trails of his mark behind. You started grinding into him, trying to relieve some of the tension and get some kind of action going. As Jimin bit down onto the skin, you let out a small moan and moved slightly faster while grinding on him.

He’s always been confident while with you, you always let him know how good he is and it just boosts his ego. He pulled away and admired his work, his hands trailed to your hips and he held onto while you slightly pleasured you both on his lap. You unhooked your bra and threw it onto the floor, “Jimin… I need you.”

He picked you up and moved you to your bed. You laid back and he quickly got to pulling off your shorts and panties. He spread your legs open and slowly ran a finger over your entrance, you wetness slid out onto his finger, coating him already and he hadn’t even done anything yet.

His thumb slowly stroked your clit, “(Y/N), can you do what you did last time?”

You quickly nodded, needing Jimin to touch you in any way possible, to give you some relief.

He slid one finger into your opening and pushed it deep before curling it inside of you. You whimpered and pushed against his finger, making it go even deeper. Jimin curled it a few times before pulling it out, only to push another finger in. You prepared yourself as he slowly curled his fingers, getting you ready for the harsh, but amazing, fingering he was about to give you. He raised his eyebrows, asking if he was okay to go and you nodded.

He quickly curled his two fingers causing you to moan loudly. He used some strength and pounded you with his fingers. He pushed them in as deep as he could and curled them as fast as he could, right against that spot that always gets you going.

“Oh fuck! Jimin!” You cried as he quickly pulled his fingers out of you, a trail of your liquids following suit.

“There you go, baby!” He praised, watching as you squirted all over the sheets. He didn’t even mind the mess and pushed his fingers in again, curling then hard and fast. He kept this going longer this time and before he even pulled out his fingers, you squirted uncontrollably.

You whined as you felt the wetness soaking the sheets underneath you. The sensation was warm and you could feel Jimin was trying to move his fingers faster. As he finally pulled them out, you squirted more, and it landed on his shirt, soaking it in the process.

“Such a good girl.” He moaned out as he ran his fingers over your clit. You shivered and pulled on his hair.

“Jimin, your mouth… Please..!” You begged, spreading your legs open wide for him to see.

Without any warning he leans down and latches his plump lips onto your clit. You moan loudly and pull on his hair as he quickly licks your clit. Jimin was so skilled with his mouth and it was impossible to last for long. His arms hooked underneath your thighs and pulled you even closer to his mouth. He sucked harshly on your clit, and that had you coming in less than a minute.

He groaned against you, the vibrations making you even more sensitive as he licked up your cum. Even after that orgasm, he didn’t stop and kept licking from your entrance to your clit, not able to get enough of your taste.

“J-Jimin! Stop!” You whimper, trying to push him away with your shaky hands. He holds your legs in place as he continues to quickly lick over your clit. Your hands grab onto his black hair to try to steady yourself.

“Ah! Fuck!” You yelp and try to calm yourself as you felt the slight tingling sensation in the bottom of your stomach before releasing from his mouth again. He sucked on your clit and shook his head from left to right, causing you to jerk your hips up and for your eyes to water.

“Please Jimin… I can’t..!” You beg and he finally stops his abuse on your poor clit after sucking up all of your sweet cum.

“You taste so good baby, but i cant wait to see what we taste like together. You ready for my cock?” He asks while quickly undressing himself, giving you a moment to come down from your high.

“Yes.. Just please.. Hurry up!” You whine and quickly help him line himself up with your entrance. Your hands go to his back and pull him to you so he pushes into you. Your faces twist with pleasure as your walls clench around him, enveloping his cock in the wet warmness of your pussy.

“Shit (Y/N). Always so tight for my cock.” He grunts as he starts thrusting into you at a good pace. His skin slightly brushed against your clit everytime he thrust and you were getting close again.

“You like that (Y/N)?” He asks right after one particularly hard thrust.

“Yes! Yes! Please Jimin, don’t stop!” You beg and he smirks while pounding into you. Your walls clench before you let go.

Your walls clenched and released around him and your nails dragged down his back. Before you could even come down from your high, Jimin flipped you around and started thrusting into you from behind. The overstimulation made it hard to keep yourself up so he pulled you up by your hair. Your back was pressed against his chest and his hand was gripping your throat.

“You like that baby? When I fuck your little pussy and choke you? Huh?” He growls, slightly squeezing harder as he got closer to his high.

“Yes Jimin, I love it,” you choke out the words as your air was getting cut off. It added to the pleasure and rushed your body to reach its next orgasm. Jimin thrust one last time before releasing his hot seed into your throbbing pussy. You cried out as you tightened around him again, legs shaking from the intense orgasm. He let go of your throat and you gasped for air.

He slowly pulled out of you and collapsed onto the bed, “Holy shit babygirl. You okay?” He looked over at you laying on the side of him catching your breath.

You nodded and rolled over onto his chest, “My fucking legs Park Jimin. They’re sore as fuck.”

He laughed and played with some of your hair, admiring you in the process. “You were the one who said you wanted to fuck for your birthday.”

You pouted but leaned up and softly kissed him on the lips, “Thank you baby. That’s the best fuck we’ve ever had.”

He smiled and moved his hands down to your ass and softly squeezed, before rubbing it. “I’m glad you enjoyed it.”

“So we should prob-” You were cut off as Jimin’s hand harshly slapped your ass. He smirked as you yelped and quickly sat up.

“You’re always supposed to get your ass slapped on your birthday,” he said with a smug look on his face.

“No, not in my world.”

He laughed and pulled you back down and held you down with his left hand while his right hand rubbed your ass slowly.

“21 more to go.” He said, while his hand came down again, making you cry out in pain and pleasure.

“I fucking hate you Park Jimin!”

And to say that it bothered George would be an understatement as well.

No, George was almost offended that she refused to speak your mind. He couldn’t really understand why (Name) felt the need to hide all of her wonderful thoughts, but that didn’t mean he didn’t respect it.

When you woke up that Wednesday morning you knew something was off. You weren’t feeling quite yourself. Yet, you decided to go to work at STAR Labs. On your way there you were coughing from time to time and shivering but you were in the middle of the winter so you guessed you were just cold.

“Morning guys” you greeted everyone as you walked into the cortex.

“Wow, what happened?” Cisco asked the moment he saw you.

“Nothing, why?” You replied sitting on a chair.

“You look awful” he pointed out.

“Thank you?” You chuckled. “I think I might be catching a cold, but don’t worry, it will be over in a couple of days” you shrugged it off as you turned on the laptops.

Your work at the labs was your passion. You were a robotic engineer hired by Harrison Wells. Of course, that was before the particle accelerator exploded and created all those metahumans, before you al found out Wells wasn’t exactly Wells and…basically, before life turned complicated for everyone.

When the accelerator exploded those who didn’t die just left the place. All except Cisco, Caitlin and you. They were like a family to you, they took you in the moment you put a feet into the facility just a few days after arriving all alone to Central City. You were from San Francisco but working for Harrison Wells was something you couldn’t say no to, so there you were. Four years later.

“Sorry I’m late, I got caught in traffic” Caitlin said walking into the cortex with a cup of coffee from Jitters on her hand. “Wow, (Y/N), are you ok?” She asked when she saw your face, causing Cisco’s laugh.

“C’mon! Do I look that bad?” You asked frowning.

“I think you should go home and rest” was Caitlin reply.

“It’s just a cold, I’m sure” you sighed.

But it wasn’t. By the middle of the day you have been told to go home by everyone who came to the labs: Wells, Jesse, Cisco, Caitlin…everyone. It was frustrating. Even Barry sent you a text from Star City telling you to go home. Of course you didn’t listen to them since you didn’t feel that bad, but when it was already dark outside you forced yourself to go home after Caitlin told you had fever.

When you woke up the next day, you had to call Caitlin to tell her you wouldn’t be going to work today. You felt even worse than the day before.

“Don’t worry, we have everything covered here, I promise” she assured you before hanging up.

Still you felt bad for staying at home. Not just because you wouldn’t be able to help if something came up, but also because today Barry would be coming back from Star City after five days and you wouldn’t see him after how much you had missed him. That wasn’t strange since you had spent every single day with him since the moment he came in still in a coma. But it wasn’t until a few months ago that you had the courage to tell how you felt about him, just to find out he felt the same way all along.

Ever since, you were dating, which had turned out to be the biggest adventure of your life. He was fun, smart, sweet and loving, but he was also so protective and stubborn that it got to your nerves. You understood he was The Flash, a hero, but he didn’t understand you could make your own choices. Still, you loved him like you never loved anyone before and you couldn’t wait to see him again.

By noon you finally got a text from him saying he was back at STAR labs:

Back at the labs, how are you feeling? – Barry

You smiled a little at the text and sighing, wishing you had been there to hug him and kiss him, ignoring Cisco’s complains.

Feverish and missing you L - (Y/N)

I missed you too. I’ll go visit asap. Love you, xx – Barry

You smiled even more when you read he would visit. You imagined he would go eventually but sometimes he was too busy to do it, so you were so happy to know you would be seeing him that day after all. Putting your phone down, you covered yourself up and sighed looking up at the ceiling. You coughed a little and closed your eyes, falling asleep almost immediately.

A couple of hours later you were woken up by the sound of your door closing. You rolled around in bed trying to get your phone but it was too far so you just gave up and hide your head under the covers.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you” a very familiar voice said.

Immediately, you popped your head out and there he was. Barry Allen was standing at the end of your bed with a bag on his hand and a smile on his face. A smile that you returned but soon you were back under the covers.

“Go away! I look awful!” You exclaimed remembering how you must be looking like at the moment.

His laugh echoed the room and soon you felt the bed sinking by your side, letting you know he was just there, so you stuck your head back out.

“I haven’t seen my girlfriend in five days, I think she looks gorgeous no matter what” he said.

“You really know what a girl wants to hear, Allen” you smiled.

He chuckled while you sat up on the bed and pulled your hair into a bun. Despite what he said, you knew your aspect wasn’t the best. When you were done, you looked at him just to see that he had been staring the whole time which made you blush.

“I missed you” you said, making him smile.

“I missed you too” he replied before leaning in and wrapping his arms around you in a tight hug.

“I’m all sweaty” you chuckled.

“I don’t care” he smiled into your neck as he squeezed you. “How many times have you hug me and kiss me after being running around the city for hours?” He added.

“True” you smiled before closing your eyes.

You had missed him so much, his hugs, his smell, his embrace. All of him. He pulled away and placed a strand of hair behind your ear before leaning towards your lips but you placed a hand over his mouth, earning a confused look from him.

“I’m sick!” You explained. He took your hand off his mouth and kissed it softly.

“Then it’s a good thing I can’t get sick, right?” He smirked. You narrowed your eyes at him but didn’t have time for a comeback before he kissed you.

If you thought you missed him was because you hadn’t kissed him yet. Finally you felt like home again, like you were complete when his lips met yours.

“It’s a really good thing” you smiled when you pulled away. “How was Star City?” You asked with a frown.

“Complicated” he sighed. “They were all devastated after…Laurel” he said as he played with your hand. “She was amazing” he added.

“I know…I’m sorry” you whispered.

You never had the chance to meet Laurel Lance, aka the Black Canary, but you had heard Cisco and Barry talk about her and you had an idea about the amazing woman she was and how much she had done to protect Star City along with Oliver and the Team Arrow.

“Anyway, I brought something” Barry said looking up at you, smiling again. “But you can’t tell Caitlin or she would kill me”

“What is it?” You asked narrowing your eyes.

He smiled and took the plastic bag he had placed down on the floor. First, he took out some water and chicken soup. You raised an eyebrow: why would Caitlin kill him for that? Then he took out a chocolate ice-cream pack.

“Oh god…is it with cookies?” You asked with your eyes wide opened.

“My girl deserves the best” he winked.

“Oh my, I love you so much!” You exclaimed taking the ice-cream from his hands. “Oh, I need a sp-“ before you could finish the sentence, Barry was back from the kitchen with a spoon. “I’ll never get used to that” you laughed. Immediately you started eating it. “You want some?” You finally asked.

“I thought you’d never ask” he said taking a spoon out of his pocket and laying down next to you, sinking the spoon into the ice-cream.

Being sick wasn’t so bad if it was like this.

Clint was probably as excited as you were to finally have you back at Stark Tower in a few short hours. You haven’t been there in so many years, you actually lost count. You were tired of the country life and you desperately needed a change in scenery.

Your dad said you had a place at Stark Tower anytime you wanted to visit the city and your family, as he calls them. So, you packed your bags and told your dad you wanted to visit.

Your mom was a little more reluctant to let you go, she always wanted to make sure you were safe. Clint assured her time and time again that nobody would be able to mess with you, not when you had an army of Avengers by your side. After convincing her to let you leave, you made your way to the jet Tony had so kindly sent out for you.

Clint was pacing along the common room floor, checking the clock every five minutes. “Clint, she’ll be here. Sit down, you’re making me nervous.” Tony said with a loud sigh. Clint shook his head and stopped pacing, turning to face the others. “She hasn’t been here in years, I just want her to feel at home.” Clint said, checking the clock once again. You should be landing anytime now.

The team was talking among themselves, all gathered around, waiting for you to get there. Everyone was excited to see you again, only remembering you as your younger self. They always tried to keep in touch, mostly Steve and Nat than anyone else.

Soon after, the jet finally landed on the roof of the Tower and Clint basically screeched in excitement, causing the team to laugh. “Jesus.” Sam muttered, shaking his head as he chuckled. The team all stood around in a welcoming line, ready to see you.

Clint stood in front of them, a big smile on his face. “I can’t wait to see her!” Nat squealed, bouncing on her feet. Steve smiled and nodded. “Me either, I wonder how much she’s grown.” Steve said, staring at the elevator anxiously.

Bucky stood beside Steve, his hands stuffed in his pockets. “Y'think she’ll remember me?” Bucky asked quietly, catching Steve’s attention. You had just briefly met Bucky the last time you had visited the Tower, you didn’t have a lot of time to stay. You were much younger and didn’t get to properly warm up to him.

Steve turned to Bucky, a small look of shock on his face. “Of course she’ll remember you, Buck.” Steve said, nudging Bucky’s side. Bucky smiled and sighed. He enjoyed having you around that one time, you were young and full of energy. You made everyone smile and just made the place feel happy. Bucky could remember how you wore pigtails in your hair and wore little sundresses, he thought you were such an adorable little girl.

You sighed, nervously playing with the hem of your sundress. The elevator suddenly dinged and the doors opened. You saw the entire team standing with big smiles on their faces. “Y/N!” Clint and Nat both yelled, rushing over to you.

You smiled shyly and set your bags down, letting your dad pick you up and twirl you around. Clint’s smile was so wide and you couldn’t help but squeeze him tightly. “Dad!” You said, your arms tight around his neck. You laughed as he set you down and you turned to a rather overly excited Nat.

“My turn!” She yelled, pulling you into a tight embrace. “You’ve grown up so much!” She yelled excitedly. You hugged her back and she swayed you from side to side. “I’ve missed you!” You yelled back, smiling as she giggled into your ear.

She pulled away and you turned to see Steve standing there. You squealed as you ran and hopped up, wrapping yourself around Steve. “Steeviiieee!” You yelled, hearing him chuckle. “Y/N!” Steve yelled back, twirling you around just like Clint did. He set you down on your feet, helping you keep steady.

You beamed up at Steve, your hands resting on his biceps. “Dang, Brooklyn! Those muscles have grown!” You said, your eyes and mouth wide in amazement. Steve playfully flexed under your hold and chuckled. “You haven’t grown much height wise, but wow! You’re so beautiful!” Steve said, causing Clint to clear his throat, eyeing Steve. “Oh Dad, stop it.” You said giggling. Steve pulled you along, your dad and Nat following behind.

You shyly waved at everyone and Tony stepped forward now, gaining your attention. “Okay, has it really been that long?” Tony asked, giving you a tight hug. You smiled and gave his back a light pat. “It has.” You pulled away, “You’ve gone grey.” You said, making Tony gasp and pull away from you. “Dammit!” He yelled but you stopped him before he could rush to the nearest mirror. “I’m kidding!” You laughed along with everyone else.

You shared hugs with everyone and it was time you reunited with Bucky. You smiled and Bucky stepped forward, his eyes raking up your body. “Y/N, you’ve grown.” Bucky said, letting out a breathy chuckle and pulled you into a hug. “It’s been so long, Doll.” Bucky said, causing the room to fall silent at the sudden nickname. You smiled and hugged Bucky back, feeling his arms tighten around you.

Your heart started to race in your chest and you blushed, noticing Bucky held you longer than anyone else did. Clint cleared his throat again and you quickly separated from Bucky. You noticed Bucky’s eyes fall to your cleavage as you pulled away. “I know, I’m sorry I was away for so long. We have so much to catch up on!” You said, smiling up at Bucky. His blue eyes locked with yours and you swear you could see him blushing.

You heard Sam snicker. “Oh, boy.” He whispered, though nobody commented on it. Clint held your bags and smiled at you. “I wanna show you your room. Tony and the others are gonna start dinner. We’re all gonna hang out outside, we’re having burgers!” Your dad smiled widely, dragging you away from everyone.

You turned to wave and Bucky stood there, seemingly full of shock. You turned back to the elevator and the doors closed, taking you to your room. “How was the flight?” Clint asked, rubbing your back. You smiled. “That man and his fancy jets.” You laughed softly, your dad doing the same.

A few hours passed and you caught up with everyone pretty quickly. They were all surprised at how much you had grown up over the years. You enjoyed talking to the team and every now and then, you would catch Bucky staring at you. You felt some sort of connection between each other.

You were all sitting at a table in the backyard, eating dinner. The sun was just beginning to set and you were laughing at something Tony said. “I swear, you never left the tower without wearing a sundress! I don’t know what it is.” Tony said, making you smile. “My mom always bought them for me when I was little,” You shrugged, “It stuck with me, I guess.” You said, watching Tony nod with a smile.

The conversation carried on and you noticed Bucky looking at you again. You had to admit he has gotten a lot more muscular and he was a very handsome man. You blushed when he winked at you and you felt an elbow gently jab your arm. You turned to Nat, seeing her sip from her cup, her eyebrow quirked. You sent a questioning look at her, but you knew what she was hinting at.

Bruce cleared his throat and looked at you. “So, Y/N, you went to college, didn’t you?” Bruce asked, his eyes kind and his smile small. You nodded. “I did! I really enjoyed it, but I’m not entirely sure what I want to do.” You said, feeling everyone’s eyes on you. Bruce nodded, smiling at you. “That’s understandable.” He commented.

Sam smirked at you. “Party a lot?” Sam asked, making you blush. You giggled and rolled your eyes. “No, I was too busy for all of that.” You replied, shaking your head. Sam smirked again, leaning in closer to you. He was sitting right across from you.

“No time for a boyfriend either?” Sam asked, earning a slap to his arm from Steve. “OW! It was just a question.” Sam said, furrowing his eyebrows at Steve. “Wings off, Sam.” Steve said in a stern voice. Everyone laughed and you blushed, slowly looking over at Bucky. Bucky’s head was hanging down a tad and he was picking at his food.

You sighed softly and turned your attention back to everyone else. Clint was staring daggers at Sam and you rolled your eyes, smiling to yourself. Your dad was always protective about a guy stepping into your life. He wanted someone he approved of and you feel like the only guy your dad would approve of would be Steve, but your eyes have been on Bucky since you got here.

You felt something in your gut when you look at Bucky. Something is drawing you in and you were nervous, yet you wanted to be near him so badly. You wanted to touch him, feel him, hold him, in the most innocent sense. But also in another sense of those words. The way his hair was hanging loosely in his makeshift bun and the tight black tank top he was wearing now made your mouth water.

A snap of two fingers broke you out of your thoughts and you jumped slightly in your spot. “Hm?” You asked, looking towards Wanda. “You okay?” She asked, looking at you. You sighed and cleared your throat. “I-I just need to use the ladies room. I’ll be back.” You rushed, standing from your seat. “Is everything alright?” Clint asked, putting down his cup. His eyebrows were creased together with worry. All eyes were on you, even Bucky’s.

You nodded and gave your dad a small smile. “I just need some fresh air.” You said before walking away and up the stone path that led to a back door. “Aren’t we outside?” Vision questioned as you walked off. The team all looked over to you and Bucky watched your figure walking away, his tongue lightly darting out to wet his lips.  (refer to gif omg)

You sighed and shook your head, more thoughts of Bucky coming into your mind. What was wrong with you? You just got here today after years of being gone, why are you already catching feelings for someone like you’re desperate for a guy? But you just couldn’t help it, Bucky was just so hot. He was nice, too.

You walked up to the elevator, sighing again. You looked at the buttons, your floor number disappearing from your clouded mind. You bit your lip, wiggling your fingers as you tried to remember it. You looked at the mass amount of floor numbers and pressed what you thought was yours. You waited patiently for it stop.

As the doors opened, you slowly walked out, seeing a floor similar to yours. You hoped you got it right, but as you walked down the long hallway, the musky cologne smell from the three rooms made you realize that this was not your floor. You kept walking down the hallway anyways, looking at the decorations on the doors as you walked by.

You walked by Sam’s room, a sign saying “Falcons Only” on his door with a drawing of him hanging off of it. You smiled and looked to your left, right across was Steve’s door. It had a decal of his shield on it, with a small picture of him and the team pinned to it. You stepped up to his door and gently let your fingers touch the photo. You giggled when you noticed the bunny ears Sam held above Bucky’s head.

Your eyes remained on Bucky’s face for a little longer. His smile was genuine, his eyes squinted from his smile being so wide. His hair was framing his face and he had a cap on. He looked really happy and at peace with himself.

You smiled and moved away from Steve’s door, seeing another one at the end of the hall. There was a large window on the wall you faced. It was almost dark now, surely the team would be inside soon.

You waked over to the last door. There was nothing on it. No name tag, no drawing, no photos, no symbol of the Avenger who lived in this room. Curiosity getting the best of you, you turned the doorknob and peeked inside. The room was simple and had minimal in it. You walked inside, leaving the door cracked.

You looked around the room, looking for anything that would give you a hint of who occupied it. You saw a perfectly made bed, no wrinkles on it. There was no clutter, nothing out of place. Everything was neat and clean, organized as if the person hated clutter. A cluttered bedroom meant a cluttered mind. Maybe this person suffered with a cluttered mind before.

You walked over to the desk in the bedroom, seeing a few books. You recognized some of them, others you didn’t. A red journal shoved in between two books caught your attention. You knew you shouldn’t look, but you were in too deep now. Your fingers gently tugged the book free, not a speck of dust was on it. It was red and there was a star on it. Your fingers traced the star and you heard the door creak open.

A gasp fell from your lips and you turned to face the door, seeing Bucky standing there. “Bucky!” You squealed, holding the book to your chest, your heart racing and your breathing heavy. Bucky walked in and over to you, making you gulp. This must be his room and he didn’t look pleased to see you in here. Actually, you couldn’t tell how he felt. His eyes and expression were unreadable.

Bucky stood in front of you, his body towering over yours. His hand reached up and he tugged the book from your chest, his eyes glancing at your cleavage again. You took a shaky breath and Bucky leaned closer to you, his torso resting against your chest. Bucky slid the book back in its rightful place and you licked your lips nervously.

Bucky leaned back a little, his hand rising up to hold your waist. You gasped softly. “I-I’m sorry, I just-I, uh, I forgot my floor number.” You said quietly, looking up at Bucky. He held your waist with both hands now and he leaned back enough to look into your eyes. You felt small under his gaze, his blue eyes staring into yours. “Bucky?” You asked softly as he started leaning into you.

Your breath was uneven and Bucky’s lips ghosted over yours. “Tell me to stop.” Bucky whispered, his breath fanning over your mouth. Your eyelids fluttered a little and you felt Bucky squeeze your waist. You looked into Bucky’s eyes. “I-I,” you breathed, “Don’t.” You whispered back.

Bucky’s lips quirked into a smile and he leaned in, pressing his lips to yours. You let your hands rest on his forearms, letting them glide up his arms and to his shoulders as you kissed him back. Bucky’s lips were soft and plump, perfectly moving with yours. You let your eyes flutter shut and sighed into the kiss.

Bucky pulled you closer and your wrapped your arms around his neck, standing on your toes. Bucky easily picked you up as the kiss deepened, wrapping your legs around his waist. You carefully pulled out his hair tie, letting his thick hair fall, only to be tangled by your fingers. You gently tugged on it, hearing Bucky groan into the kiss.

He pulled away, your lips and his making a smacking sound. You breathed heavily, Bucky doing the same. He gently laid you down on your back on his bed, keeping your legs wrapped around him. His lips connected with yours again and you felt his tongue poke against your bottom lip. You opened your mouth, letting your tongue wrestle with his.

A moan fell from your lips and Bucky’s hands lifted your dress up, resting his hands on your thighs. Bucky ground his hips against yours and you moaned, feeling his crotch rub against you. His lips attached to the side of your neck and you gasped, tilting your head so he had better access. “Bucky.” You breathed, feeling him sucking on your pulse point. Bucky smirked against you and stopped sucking before he left a mark.

Bucky pulled away from you and you turned to look at him. His lips were wet and red from kissing you. “You’re so beautiful, Doll.” Bucky said, his hand gently caressing your cheek. You blushed and looked away from Bucky. “Hey,” Bucky kissed your cheek, “Look at me, Doll.” Bucky said softly. You giggled and looked at Bucky again, his eyes looking into yours.

Bucky smiled and leaned in, pressing his lips against yours again. You kissed him back, letting your fingers run through his hair. Bucky gasped a little, grinding his hips into yours again. You moaned softly and suddenly heard someone calling your name. You gasped and Bucky moved off of you, clearing his throat.

You quickly stood off Bucky’s bed, straightening your dress. Bucky stood away from you, rushing over to his desk to casually lean against it. The door suddenly opened and Steve looked inside. “There you are! I’ve been searching for you guys!” Steve said, sighing out. He looked between you and Bucky, noticing both of your red cheeks and the slightly messed up bed.

Steve pointed to the bed, his eyebrows furrowed. Steve scratched the back of his head and you blushed, shifting on your feet. You shyly looked at Bucky and he was blushing like you were. “You-your, the bed, Bucky.” Steve said, his eyes widening. “Don’t tell my Dad! Please!” You begged, seeing Sam barge into the room now. His eyebrows raised and he caught on quicker. “No way!” Sam said, laughing.

You groaned and walked over to Sam and Steve. “Promise me you won’t tell!” You pleaded as Bucky walked up to you. His arm slithered around your waist and Steve sighed, eyeing Bucky. “I won’t.” Steve finally said, looking at Sam. Sam stopped laughing and cleared his throat. “You have my word.” Sam said, smirking at you. You sighed and thanked the two guys before they left.

You turned to Bucky and he smiled down at you. “That was close.” You breathed, shyly smiling at Bucky. He chuckled and pressed a kiss to your forehead. Your stomach erupted with butterflies. “Let’s go before someone else comes in.” Bucky said, grabbing your hand. You smiled, looking down at your joined hands, suddenly not caring if anyone saw it. Not even your dad.

You were happy you decided to visit again.

Summary You’re bored at an awards ceremony celebrating Tony and Bruce when Bucky decides to make things more interesting
AN Written for @persephone-is-here-omg ‘s challenge. I hope you like it!

You were out at a swanky restaurant celebrating Tony and Bruce receiving yet another award for advancement in the field of something or other - to be honest, it was lost on you and you were bored of the never-ending speeches. Sighing inwardly, you shifted in your seat and took a small sip from your glass, then put it down. Not everyone had had the privilege of attending tonight and you were one of the ones (un)lucky enough to be here. It’s not that you didn’t enjoy getting dressed up but you liked to do it on your own terms. This affair was rather stuffy, the people, stodgy, but as one of Tony’s closest friends, you were there to support him.

The other people attending were Bruce and Bucky. Bruce was there to receive the award as well and Bucky was there to show how united the Avengers were. Though he would never be Tony’s favourite person, things were much better between the two of them and this outing helped show others just that. Though at the moment, only you and Bucky were at your table; Bruce and Tony were off preparing for their award presentation.

You sighed again, this time, catching Bucky’s attention. He raised his brow at you, smirking and you felt your face burn with embarrassment.

Resting your elbow on the table, you hid your mouth with your hand, your voice barely above a whisper, “Is it that obvious that I don’t want to be here?”

He gave his head a slight shake, mimicking your posture, “Not at all. To be honest, I feel the same way.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever been so bored in my entire life,” you muttered louder than you meant to catching the glares of some of the guests around you.

“Same,” he smiled at you, moving his chair slightly closer to yours so he could rest his hand on your knee.

You raised your brow at his gesture and he smirked again, leaving his hand there.

You could feel your heart pick up speed as you wondered what he was doing. As the speeches went on, you had almost forgotten about Bucky’s hand on your knee until he slowly moved it up your thigh making your breath catch.

He leaned towards you, speaking into your ear, “Thought I’d make things more interesting?”

  • School started up again soon after the holidays, and you were all ball of nerves about seeing Daniel again
  • You weren’t sure how you two would act together at school, if there would be any difference
  • If you two talked, the entire female population would attack you; and if your friendship had to be kept a secret, you would be disappointed
  • On the first day back, you could hardly focus in any of your classes before math
  • When the bell rang for you to leave your previous period, you ran to the bathroom and checked yourself out in the mirror, simultaneously scolding yourself
  • why am I this shaken up over him Jesus christ (Y/N) get it together
  • You shook your head in disbelief at yourself as you finally just sucked it up and walked to math
  • You trudged in the room, sketchily looking around with your head down, before you heard someone call out to you
  • “Hey (Y/N), we are switching seats this semester, come sit here!! Let’s be seat partners!” Daniel called out to you, a huge smile on his face, patting the seat next to him
  • He… he really just lives freely, doesn’t he? Take a lesson from him, (Y/N).
  • You couldn’t hide your happiness as you sat down next to him, right in the front of the class
  • “You’re good at math, right, (Y/N)? I’m totally going to cheat off you now!!” Daniel exclaimed, relentlessly poking your arm
  • The class soon started, and you both just played hangman and tictactoe and chatted over a piece of notebook paper, the teacher rolling her eyes at the both of you
  • You two weren’t disturbing anyone, and the teacher knew that 1. Daniel wouldn’t pay attention either way, and 2. you would do well on your tests/quizzes anyway
  • Suddenly, school had become a lot more fun
  • Word spread quickly around the school, that Daniel had a new friend… a new girl friend.
  • Suddenly you started getting weird looks from people, and sudden requests to become your friend
  • You were taken aback by the sudden attention, but didn’t do anything about it
  • You just hung out with a couple of your old friends, who thankfully didn’t even bother questioning you about Daniel at all; they seemed to know you would tell them when you were ready
  • They had already known about your childhood friendship with Daniel, anyway
  • Ong and Jaehwan, though, got all the information they needed from Daniel
  • They learned the entire story, and they had also known that you were Daniel’s old friend
  • Anyway you didn’t see Daniel really for the rest of the school day, because you two were in different classes/years, so it wasn’t a surprise when you didn’t meet him again
  • This pattern continued throughout the week: having fun with Daniel in math, only for him to be whisked off to the palace by his bodyguards as soon as school ended every day
  • But something different happened on the Friday of that week
  • As you walked out of school ready to bike home, but your bike was nowhere to be found
  • Instead, you saw two men in black suits standing near the racks
  • “Please come with us, Miss (Y/L/N). Your bike is in the car,” one said, pointing at a sleek black car parked in front of the school. “The Royal Family requests your presence at the palace.”
  • “Uhhh what nobody told me about this,” you mumbled, as the men leaded you towards the car
  • You entered the car, to find Daniel in the seat next to you
  • “What’s up?”
  • “As if I would know, dumbass,” you rolled your eyes, punching his arm
  • For the car ride to the palace, you and Daniel just theorized about various reasons that the King and Queen would want to talk to you
  • “Maybe you clogged one of the toilets at the party”
  • “What the hell, man”
  • “Or you fell asleep on the couch in that room and drooled on it and now you have to replace it hA”
  • “jesus fuck Dan just shut up”
  • ET CETERA
  • When you two finally arrived at the palace, you two got out of the car, Daniel slamming the door behind him as you tried to exit from his side after him
  • “Prince. Please don’t delay us, we need to meet the Queen and King.” a stern voice called (probably one of the bodyguards), shutting up Daniel’s weird laughter (you know what I’m talking about)
  • “Ha, take that loser,” you called back at him, exiting the car
  • “You’re the loser, have fun with whatever my parents want you for,” Daniel said, playfully shoving you, walking away from you and the guards, probably to his own room
  • “Prince, you also have to come along, the King and Queen also want to see you.” A guard said, confusing the both of you
  • What matter could concern the both of you? Another party? What is going on
  • You and Daniel were both sat down in a very fancy looking room, with multiple seats arranged around a round table
  • You two whispered to each other, before the King and Queen entered, sitting down across from you both
  • “Daniel! (Y/N)! How are you both? How was your day at school today?” The Queen excitedly asked
  • You both looked at each other in confusion, before saying what you had “learned” in math today, Daniel revealing that you were now seat mates with one another
  • “Oh, well that’s just great! Glad to see you two are getting along so well, it looks like you two should be able to settle down together very well in the future,” The King said, bobbing his head in an approving nod
  • You and Daniel were in complete confusion, staring at Daniel’s parents as they both beamed at you two
  • “Ah, well I guess we haven’t really explained this properly, but you two get the gist, no?” The Queen said, catching sight of your confused gazes. “Well it’s obvious that (Y/N) here is the most reasonable choice for the Princess; out of all the women we have seen for the past couple of years have not even come close to the bright and genuine aura (Y/N) exudes! You two are perfect together!”
  • Your mouth had dropped open, blankly staring at the King and Queen, who were just excitedly giggling to themselves
  • You turned your eyes to Daniel, his eyes narrowed at his parents
  • “You two can’t be serious. How can you force her to get married at such a young age? Shouldn’t she have input in this matter?”
  • You blankly nodded. Marriage? What the hell?
  • You had wanted to get closer to Daniel, but marriage? That was a rest of life thing here, and you were perfectly content with your crush on him; being the Princess would make your life so unbelievably complicated
  • “Oh, well we don’t want you two to get married now, at least finish your college first, we just thought that you should both just be aware of this arrangement,” The King clarified
  • “Still! How can you expect to even want to commit to this now?” Daniel stood up, his hands on the table, as you nodded along
  • You didn’t dare speak out against the King and Queen, so you were thankful at least Daniel was being sane here
  • “Oh, well (Y/N) technically doesn’t have to commit to the marriage now, we just at least want the both of you to give a shot at a relationship and living together. We aren’t letting (Y/N) pass by, she is the first girl we have approved of in the years we have been looking for someone. Don’t take this as a joke, Daniel. You know the legacy of the family name is very important to the establishment of our rule.” The Queen said
  • “Yes, and if it happens that after trying with one another that (Y/N) or you do not feel like this is the best arrangement, then we will not have to continue with the marriage. What we are asking is very reasonable in our opinion; we aren’t forcing anything onto you in the long term. We are just kindly requesting that you will both make an attempt. This is a very serious matter.” The King continued
  • Well, that didn’t sound so bad. You two could just hang out for sometime, and then say that you two just want to remain as friends in the end.
  • You looked at Daniel and shrugged, signaling that this was fine with you
  • Daniel sighed, and nodded at his parents, grabbing your hand and leading you out of the room
  • You forgot sometimes, but Daniel was really a Prince, he really was royalty. For fuck’s sake, he was Prince of the entire country
  • For how down-to-earth he is, you sometimes forgot that you two really had completely different lives.
  • Daniel silently dragged you to a flight of stairs, leading you up to the second floor. You hadn’t been up there since you were like five
  • Happy memories flooded you as you stared down the huge hallways, remembering the old times where you, Daniel and Jisung used to race down the corridors
  • You were caught up in your own thoughts, not noticing that Daniel had led you into a huge bedroom
  • Daniel finally said something
  • Well, it was not really a coherent word
  • More like a primal scream, as he jumped face first onto a humongous bed that looked really fluffy
  • He let out really weird sounds into his pillow, slamming his legs repeatedly into the mattress
  • You walked up to him, poking his shoulder, making Daniel stop and stare at you through half-lidded eyes
  • “Try it, (Y/N). It’s therapeutic.” Daniel said, turning his face back into the white bedsheets, scooting over to make room for you
  • You weren’t even skeptical; you plunged onto the bed, both of you acting like deranged demonic toddlers
  • The both of you, at the moment, had nothing to say to one another – you both were equally taken aback at this sudden news, and for the time being, this was all you two could do
  • After a couple minutes of this… exorcism or whatever it was, your cries of the both of you just turned into tired sighs, once in a while kicking the bed
  • And without realizing it, you just fell asleep in Daniel’s super comfortable bed
  • “Do you want to stay for dinner today? It’s already evening,” Daniel called to you from the other side of the bed, facing away from you
  • He was met with silence, and crawled over to you in response, pulling your hair
  • Still receiving no reaction from you, he peered over your motionless body to see your eyes shut, deeply asleep
  • “That fast? Stupid,” Daniel laughed, about to pinch your nose to stop you from breathing, before his hand stopped in front of your face
  • He looked at you, unable to stop his concerns from popping into his mind
  • Wife? Princess? (Y/N)? We just reunited as friends, and now that has to change?
  • He breathed out, moving his hand back and plopping back on the bed next to you
  • Not that I would mind (Y/N) as the princess, he thought, staring at the back of your head
  • Pretty funny that this is even happening, I used to joke about marrying her when we were kids…
  • Daniel knew that for royal families, marrying someone you truly love is a very rare occurrence, and most marriages are completely arranged
  • I’m lucky enough Mom and Dad are trying to find someone who is more than a business deal, but that would mean (Y/N) would have to be cooped up in the palace for the rest of her life, and live completely in the public’s eye…
  • Daniel deeply sighed and smothered his face in his pillow again, pushing all the thoughts that were consuming him out of his mind
  • Ah whatever, this is so confusing, let’s just forget about all of this now
  • He forgot all about bugging you for dinner, and fell into sleep next to you
  • zzzzzzzzz….
  • You two slept peacefully for around an hour before a sharp noise blared into Daniel’s room
  • “Prince? Miss (Y/L/N)? Dinner is ready. Please come to the dining room,” a voice called through an intercom, waking the both of you up
  • You opened you eyes, and rolled around in the bed, only to come face to face with Daniel
  • You were about to scream, slapping your hand over your mouth, your heart rapidly picking up pace
  • jesus christ could I get a warning here?
  • You stared at Daniel’s face, his teeth gritting together once in a while as he slept – the intercom failed to wake him up
  • I can’t believe this is happening, getting to spend time with him… but marriage? Isn’t that a bit much…
  • You were deep in thought, before the voice from the speakers blared again, asking you two to immediately come down
  • “Daniel, Daniel wake up,” you said, gently shaking him so that he would wake up
  • “Stopppp ittttt,” Daniel whined, pulling the blanket to cover him face
  • You couldn’t help but laugh at his sudden burst of cuteness, seeming like a little kid, making you think of similar situations when you two were younger
  • Jisung and you would always team up and torture Daniel with tickle fights (he was super sensitive) when he was sleeping
  • Without realizing, your hands had slid under the blanket, grabbing Daniel’s torso and evilly giggling before you started violently tickling him
  • “(Y/N)!!!!!! YOU BETTER STOP THIS!!!”
  • “nEVER!!!!” (lmao never) you screamed back at him, before he grabbed you and started tickling you back
  • “wha- NO NO NO NO NO NO NO STOP NO” you gasped, out of breath, as you writhed under his grasp, unable to fight back
  • “HA, take THAT” Daniel yelled, tackling you and flipping you over in bed, pinning both your hands with one arm while tickling you with the other
  • “DANIEL STOP YOU’RE SO FUCKING HEAVY GET OFF ME”
  • “YOU SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THAT BEFORE YOU ATTACKED ME BITCH”
  • “Looks like you two are getting along quite well.” a different voice called out to you, making both you and Daniel freeze in place, you pinned under him, the both of you realizing just how close to one another you two were
  • You both looked up in unison, finding a bodyguard dude at the door with his arms crossed, the King and Queen behind him
  • You and Daniel sprang apart, desperately claiming to all three that it wasn’t what they were thinking, still breathing heavily from the tickling
  • “I knew something was going on; Daniel’s never late for dinner,” the Queen snickered, dragging the King and the bodyguard out of the room, saying that they should “let you two do what you needed”
  • There was no point in arguing with the King and Queen, after all they were the ones who wanted you two to get married
  • You and Daniel stood there in his room, quiet once again, your face heating up in embarrassment
  • You looked up at Daniel, his own eyes darting shyly around the room to avoid your gaze, his own cheeks tinged with a pink blush
  • You two just stood there like the awkward people you are, until your stomach growled, the weird atmosphere between the two of you instantly clearing
  • “Okay, (Y/N), we’ll go eat now, whatever you say,” Daniel said, patting your stomach, making you jerk back in response, still sensitive from the tickle fight but mostly shocked from the sudden contact
  • “Too soon, man, too soon,” you managed to blurt out, kicking him, running out of his room to the dining room, to escape from Daniel
  • Daniel… he still acts like the kid he used to be… but it feels so different now…
  • Do I like him for real?

Betty shook with sorrow, tears falling freely down her face. (Y/N) placed a comforting hand on her back, stroking soothing circles. Her sobs echoed throughout the Cooper household, luckily Betty’s parents were still at work.

“Have you ever loved someone, with your whole heart, but you know that they will never love you back?” Betty whimpered, referring to Archie. However, one person, in particular, came into (Y/N)’s mind…Jughead Jones. They had been best friends for many years, both having similar interests and ambitions. (Y/N) had loved him for years, but never once said anything, in fear of him not feeling the same.

“Betty, there will be someone out there for you. Archie, he doesn’t deserve you.” (Y/N) smoothed down Betty’s hair as she put her head on their shoulder. “He’ll realise that soon enough.” (Y/N) smiled, trying to lighten the dull and depressing mood. Thinking about Jughead wasn’t making things any better either.

“It’s just hard, (Y/N). I’ve loved him for years, and to just have that, that connection, gone. It’s too much at once.” Betty sighed, not realising that her words, also reflected (Y/N)’s circumstances. (Y/N) swallowed hard, their chest tightening, palms beginning to sweat as they thought of Jughead. Repressed feelings, ones that they thought would never take hold as much as it did, all falling down at once. At that moment Kevin burst through the door, holding blankets and ice cream.

“I came prepared.” He smiled, sitting down next to Betty.

“Listen, Betty, if you don’t mind, I’m going to head off. It’s getting late and I don’t want my parents worried.” (Y/N) rambled on, causing a small smile to appear on Betty’s face.

“It’s fine. Thank you, for being here.” And with that, (Y/N) left, they left before the tears could fall, before those walls came crumbling down. They went to the only place they could think of, a place that only they and Jughead knew of. The treehouse, behind both of their houses, the place where the two would play for hours on end, imagining different worlds and realities. If only it were like that now.

Sitting down in the rickety lodge, (Y/N) scanned the shelves, mounted with comics, small figurines, battered and broke, but what caught their eye, was the small photo in a brown, scratched frame. It was of Jughead and (Y/N), they were a few years younger from what they were now, holding each other close, smiling so brightly that the corners of their eyes lifted. It had been awhile since they had taken a photo together, and awhile since either of them smiled like that.

(Y/N) caressed the photo with the tips of their fingers, reminiscing in the memories of “the glory days” they had called it. Basking in the nostalgia in the small rotting treehouse. (Y/N) had only closed their eyes for a moment, when footsteps echoed through the lodge and soon, climbed in Jughead.

“Juggie?” (Y/N) questioned as they wiped the tears from their eyes quickly. Jughead sat down next to them, looking at the photo.

“What’s wrong, (Y/N)? I saw you climb up here from my bedroom window.” Jughead looked over to his house quickly from the small window, before turning back to (Y/N).

“How did you know something was wrong?” They asked, clutching the frame tighter. Jughead sighed, looking into (Y/N)’s (E/C) eyes.

“We haven’t been in here since we were what? Ten?” This caused (Y/N) to frown, looking back down at the photo of them in their teenage years.

“Then what’s this doing in here.” They showed Jug the photo, his face going slightly pale. “Juggie, why is this in here?” They asked again. Jughead closed his eyes, head falling back against the wood.

“That’s my favourite photo of us. We look so happy, I-I didn’t want to forget it. I thought up here, It’d be safe.” Jughead looked down at it, smiling slightly.

“Why were you up here, (Y/N)?” He asked gently. (Y/N) sighed.

“Have you ever loved someone, with your whole heart, but you know that they will never love you back?” (Y/N) repeated Betty’s words, looking daringly at Jug for a second. “You know that, if you were to do something about it, it would put your whole friendship in jeopardy.” Jughead frowned this time, looking out the small window at the tender sunlight.

“Yes.” He mumbled, so quiet, that (Y/N) almost missed it. This caused them to freeze, who could it possibly be? both thought. “For awhile now actually.” Jughead grabbed the photo from (Y/N)’s grasp holding it close. “I kept this photo, to remind me, remind me of the moment it happened.” Pulling out the photo from its frame, Jughead held it up to the fading light. At the back of the paper was a date, the day the photo was taken, and the words “Nostalgia-” written scruffily.

“Wait, Jug what are you-what are you saying?” (Y/N) was far beyond confused, turning more to look at him. Jug put the photo down, meeting their gaze.

“As cheesy and as gross as it sounds, you. You’re the only thing I’ve ever had that’s worth anything to me. The only thing, that I can live for. I-I” The words caught in his throat, (Y/N) took this as their moment, and slowly pressed their lips against his. Jughead froze for a second, before returning the kiss, wrapping his arms around (Y/N)’s waist. (Y/N) moved their hands to his neck, gripping the dark locks exposed at the back of his head. Pulling away a few moments later, Jughead pressed his forehead against (Y/N)’s.

“I’m in love with you, Jughead Jones.” (Y/N) whispered, both of them breaking out into a smile. A smile just like the one in the photo.

“As I am with you, (Y/N) (L/N).” He mumbled, pressing another soft kiss to their lips, both of them wrapped in their own world. A sentimental moment, of fantasy, becoming reality.
