Diamond Is Not Crash! (full-view please)

Annnnd the anime is over!  Good show!  I’m probably the most critical of it because it’s my favorite part of Jojo’s and I do have a ton of nitpicks and problems with the production of the show (that second half was really rough…woof), but it was still enjoyable to see it go down.

Here’s looking forward to Vento Aureo!

Recent, terrifying revelations show that Donald Trump’s information security at his club Mar-a-Lago is a terrifying joke

Let’s set aside, for the moment, the blatant sale of access to the president.  Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe were at dinner when news broke that North Korea had conducted a missile test. CNN reports, “As Mar-a-Lago’s wealthy members looked on from their tables, and with a keyboard player crooning in the background, Trump and Abe’s evening meal quickly morphed into a strategy session, the decision-making on full view to fellow diners, who described it in detail to CNN.”

  • What she says: I'm fine
  • What she means: the reveal of a court of wings and ruins cover was today, the sky is clear, the world is at peace and it's so pretty, feyre looks amazing and strong and looks like the high lady she was meant to be, the colour is also beautiful and we finally have a full body view of feyre and if rhys saw it he would be so proud, her dress screams night court tamlin can FUCK HIMSELF SHE'S GONNA RIP HIM TO SHREDS WHILE RHYS SUPPORTS HER I'M SO FUCKING READY FOR THIS BOOK TO BE RELEASED

It seemed fitting to pull out my old Fanders Army shirt after @thatsthat24 ‘s latest vlog (so fitting to the point whee the moment I got out of class I was running to my car to grab my selfie stick and taking these pictures on the field like a weirdo). And I’ve decided to open up about my own struggles with my body image.

I’ve been overweight for a good portion of my life. I’m still learning how to love my body for what it is. There had been days where I full on broke down because I hated what I saw in the mirror. I’d cry at least twice a week alone in my room because I didn’t think I was beautiful or could ever actually be loved. I was hardly ever content with the way my face looked or my hair length/style. Admittedly, there were some pretty dark thoughts because of these views, but that’s a different story.

It’s been a process, but it’s getting easier to accept myself for who I am. I take a lot of selfies (some would joke I take too many) to force myself to really look at my face and find features that I like (like my eyes look good with this color shirt or that smile looks cute in this photo, etc). I have fun changing my hair color every few months (right now I’m in the Nymphadora Tonks stage of my hair adventure), I do my makeup a different color scheme each day so I can feel like I’m some sort of new painting everyday. I’ve been taking more photos that include my stomach, even though that’s where the majority of my body fat is. I now have three tattoos, two of which are reminders to myself that no matter what my brain tries to tell me: it’s worth it to love myself and to enjoy the life I have, and that the only sharp objects that should ever touch my skin are the ones used to make permanent works of art.

There’s still some bad days, don’t get me wrong. But I’ve come to realize that the people I choose to surround myself with love me for who I am, and that’s what truly matters.

So thank you, Thomas, for speaking out about a very important topic, and for constantly bringing a smile to my face even when I’m at my lowest.

 Stay Amazing,

💙 Sam

What’s Up for December 2016?

What’s Up for December? Mars and Neptune above the crescent moon and a New Year’s Eve comet!

2016 ends with fireworks as three planets line up as if ejected from a Roman candle. Mercury, Venus and Mars are visible above the sunset horizon all month long.

As Venus climbs higher in the sky, it looks brighter and larger than it appeared last month.

On New Year’s Eve, Mars and Neptune appear very close to each other. Through telescopes, rusty red Mars and blue-green Neptune‘s colors contrast beautifully.

There are two meteor showers this month – the Geminds and the Ursids. The best time to see the reliable Geminids will be next year, when the full moon won’t be so bright and interfering. This year, however, we may luck out and see some of the brighter meteors on the evening of the 13th and the morning of the 14th.

The best time to view the Ursids, radiating from Ursa Minor, or the little Dipper, will be from midnight on the 21st until about 1 a.m. on the 22nd, before the
moon rises. They may be active on the 23rd and 24th, too.

We haven’t had a good easy-to-see comet in quite a while, but beginning in December and through most of 2017 we will have several binocular and telescopic comets to view.

The first we’ll be able to see is Comet 45P/Honda-Mrkos-Pajdušáková, which will appear low on the western horizon on December 15th. On that date, the comet will pass the pretty globular cluster M75.

By the 21st, it will appear edge-on, sporting a bluish-green head and a thin, sharp view of the fan-shaped tail.

On New Years Eve, the comet and the crescent moon will rendezvous to say farewell to 2016. A “periodic” comet is a previously-identified comet that’s on a return visit. Periodic comet 45P returns to the inner solar system every 5.25 years, and that’s the one that will help us ring in the new year.

My secret headcanon is that all these shots of Yuuri that tail-end the ED (you know, the one whose lyrics are ‘you’re so beautiful tonight, you entrance me, take my breathe away” etc etc etc) are actually from Victor’s point of view.

Like, think about it for a second, Yuuri is very beautiful in general, but in these shots he looks especially gorgeous and ethereal (compare to the goofier shots at the start of the ED that feature the three of them)… So maybe he looks like this because that’s how Victor sees him

The plan began with an idle thought.

Glancing at a map earlier this month, Owen Delaney realized something funny: Seen from above, the Diana Fountain in London’s Bushy Park bears a striking resemblance to the bulbous nose of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer — at least, it would if that famous nose of his were blue. At any rate, that fountain-nose would look better if seen in the context of a full face.

So, Delaney decided to do it himself.

Using Strava, a social network that allows athletes to track and share the routes of their workouts, he traced the path of his run through Bushy Park using GPS. The result was a squiggly (and probably sweaty) take on a favorite holiday character, seen from a bird’s-eye view.

There is a cliff, over looking the lake of Ontario. It’s probably a 10-15mins drive from my home, could walk it as well. Ahaha the only problem is that you have to trespass to see this stunning view. I go at least once a month (expect during the cold weather) so I can cool my head off. Night time preferably because the view is really, really spectacular (mostly on nice weather). What’s even better? Full moon. The moon reflects on the lake and its like, you are seeing two moons over lapping each other. I go there to just listen instead of worrying about what I’m going to do next. Yea, hopefully, I can take the luckiest person with me someday to just listen.
