look at the grid

2

It’s definitely looking like Spring around here! 🌷🐇

Yesterday I set up another small crystal grid on my beautiful Nyxturna altar tile, this time in honor of the Spring Equinox / Ostara. The crystals I chose are rose quartz, selenite, and my favorite smoky quartz point. I also have pink chrysanthemums which are supposed to symbolize a long life and good luck in the home. 🌸✨

- Father, if you keep feeding me, I’ll turn into a ball.

- How nice would that be? I wouldn’t need to carry you as I leap across clouds back to the Celestial Palace. I’ll just need to roll you up and roll you back to your Qinqyun Hall.

Character Arcs Continued

Make sure you remember part one (x)

Please Note: This is absolutely not the only version of the character arc that you will ever see. There are certainly different versions where the points vary, but I chose to explain this one as it has points in common with many others and it is easy to follow.

Every important character should have an arc that carries alongside the plot. This adds a layer of complexity and shows growth in your character. Though roles and patterns are made to be broken, one of the most accepted structures for a character arc looks something like this. Let’s break it down.

Visualization Exercise: Energy Trees

Crystal grids are great! They have their own energy and are just plain cool to look at. Here’s an exercise to strengthen your crystal grids and visualization skills!

  1. When you have the grid laid out, imagine (with your eyes open OR closed) a sprout of energy blooming from the center crystal.
  2. Take deep breaths and focus on the sprout growing into a larger tree. You can “water” it with your own energy if you want. The tree is made of energy, so it can be any color you want, but I suggest the color to correspond with the intent of the grid.
  3. As the tree grows, see in your mind the roots extending into the outer crystals of the grid. They are what stabilizes it.
  4. When the tree is as big as you want, pause. Feel the tree radiating the energy you want it to have.
  5. Lastly, to add even more power, visualize ripe fruit growing on the branches. When the fruit gets big enough, it explodes in a burst of energy, boosting the intent of the grid and tree even more.
  6. Done! You can tend to the tree if you want, or you can get rid of it. You could even do this without crystals! Just draw some sigils in formation on a paper and grow the tree from them. The possibilities are endless!

I hope this was informative and inspirational! Have a blessed day ✨

Strange Bedfellows - S11 E11

Ok so I’m watching TLD cuz Sherlock is freaking adorable and I’m just now realizing how many plot holes there are. I know everyone has been pointing these out, but this is just insane

  • why does everyone keep thinking it’s Sherlock’s blog? It’s very obviously from John’s POV, and this has never happened before. It doesn’t make sense
  • Why bring in H H Holmes for absolutely no reason other than to serve as Smith’s inspiration? Why do we need a serial killer to have a mentor?
  • why have both John and Sherlock talking to people who supposedly aren’t there, only to make one actually having been there? Why do we need that mirror then?
  • WHO IS SENDING MARY’S POSTMORTEM DVD SPECIALS??
  • who the hell is John? seriously. If he needs to have a serial killer tell him to see that his friend is suffering and in pain, question him on whether he’s actually a doctor, because seriously anyone could see that he needed help. The John we’ve seen until now, in fact any medical professional, would not wait and stand guard while his friend shoots up in the bathroom.
  • why did Sherlock say Smith had the scalpel when he in fact had the scalpel???
  • why blame Sherlock for Mary’s death? I get the whole grief, anger, and need to blame someone, but like. Really. It’s so obvious that Sherlock didn’t do anything
  • WHY DID JOHN BEAT SHERLOCK TO THE POINT OF INTENSE HOSPITALIZATION? THAT WAS JUST INSANE
  • how did Sherlock manage to notice that she was suicidal and alone and has a small kitchen but fails to notice that sHE ISN’T THE WOMAN FROM THE PICTURE HE REFERENCED. RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER
  • why the random shot of people dressed up as aliens, right before Smith filming the commercial?
  • ok this is random, but at 1:09:58, there’s a reflection of the bed in the window, but it looks like in the reflection there’s no one in the bed.
  • why does Smith say that after he’s confessed he can break America? where did America come from??
  • also, when did mycroft’s office go from a huge room, well-lit with comfortable chairs, to what looks like a prison cell, grid on the ceiling, grey metal everywhere, tiny room
  • why did the change lady smallwoods name?
  • also – if the gun Eurus shot John with was a tranquilizer gun, why did it smoke? I do not believe tranquilizer guns smoke. this one is, as we say, the smoking gun that something is up *fingers guns*

anyone wanna add or answer or just freak out with me?

🔮 PREPARING A LITHOMANCY SET 🔮

Lithomancy – the practise of divination through casting stones and reading how they fall – is one of the most ancient and (in my opinion) effective divining methods out there, as well as costing nothing to set up and being something you can completely teach yourself and make your own. I recently went on a trip to an incredible and magical beach where I collected an array of exceptional rocks, pebbles, shells and fossils for this purpose, so I thought I’d make a long post on creating and preparing a kit.

GATHERING

🔮 First of all – they need not be stones, or all be stones, although the name “lithomancy” refers specifically to stones. Some cast with bones, or sticks, or shells. Some cast with whatever the hell they can find at the time. Use whatever speaks to you.

🔮 It will feel more organic to find your stones out in their natural habitat, preferably in a place that you feel a connection with, but it’s okay to purchase. The most important thing is that the set is personalised to you and that each piece of it has been chosen by you, connected to you, for a reason. Even if that reason isn’t immediately clear – it doesn’t have to be yet. Assignation will happen later.

🔮 You should use a level of instinctive guidance to find your casting stones. Perhaps you’ve even been gathering them already, drawn to them and bringing them home with you – don’t rule out stones and bits and bobs already in your possession.

🔮 Take a moment for every potential casting stone you pick up. Hold it in your hand, roll it around, look at it, think on it, get a feel for it. Start to form a picture of what it may contribute to a divination. Keep what you can’t bear the thought of throwing away. Discard everything else.

CLEANSING

🔮 First of all, a physical cleaning. Nothing too harsh – you don’t want to damage the stones or scrub them raw. (For bones and the like though, research and follow good hygiene practises accordingly. Also recommended: the law.) Generally I find a shortish soak in some warm saltwater effective enough. A light sponging to get rid of any mud, sand, etc, if there is any. Apply common sense.

🔮 Then comes the more metaphysical cleansing. Depending on your practise, you could also consecrate or bless them. Some ideas: passing through incense or smoke, cleansing with blessed/spiritually purified or charged water (you could combine this with the physical cleaning), put into a grid with cleansing crystals, using bells/sound, and personally I’ve been using sunlight to cleanse as well as charge mine.

ASSIGNATION

🔮 Set aside some time, fire up the incense, get some mood music on, ground and centre and get yourself in a good headspace. Ideally you’ll also have a nice cleansed and moody space to carry out the assignation process. This will be when you give each of your stones/objects a ‘meaning’, similar to each Tarot card having its own set of meanings and associations, or the runes that some cast. But stones are more free-form and intuitive, and the meanings are discerned and given only by you.

🔮 What you’ll be doing is almost like meditating with each of your stones. Pick up the ones that speak strongly to you first, maybe the ones that you already have some idea of their meaning – these will be the easiest to assign meanings to.

🔮 The physical appearance of the stone is a good starting point. Make sure to have a good inspection of each one. Then, enclose it in your hand and close your eyes. Feel the life inside of the stone and what it says to you. Tell it what its name and meaning is – whisper it aloud into the stone if you must. Make contact. Make sure it’s working in accord with you.

🔮 The easiest way to note down these meanings for you to memorise is to set out a piece of paper or two, and once you know what a stone means, lay it down on the piece of paper and write underneath it the name, meanings and associations. This gives you a sort of physical ‘key.’ Taking a photo of the paper spread/s once it’s done will act as a handy cheat sheet.

🔮 You’ll want a nice, rounded-out set of associations in order to give your divination depth and reach. Some traditions suggest using the different planets (and their associations) for the stones, and other simple suggestions might be elements, deities, past/present/future, etc. There are some out there that suggest a lithomancy set must contain a certain number of stones and they must have certain fixed meanings, but my opinion is that using your own intuition will make it more powerful for you. Plus, most of these traditions I could find were western European in origin, which obviously isn’t where all of our practises are from anyway. Research your traditions or make your own meanings – it’s all down to you.

CHARGING

🔮 There are a ton of resources on charging out there, and you’ll likely learn or already know best what works for you. This is a good, simple post on it for beginners. My favourite method is charging by sunlight, not only because it’s simple but because of how it falls into my belief system too.

🔮 Some suggestions: sunlight, moonlight, starlight, charged crystals and crystal grids, water of various properties (rain, storm, sea), laying out on grass or soil or tree roots or in herb planters, bones (bone grid?) and feathers and such…

PRACTISE

🔮 After taking some time to familiarise yourself with your set and its meanings, it’s time to begin practising. Just chuck ‘em! Start off by doing readings for and about yourself. Get a feel for your set and how it speaks. This is also the time to make adjustments to the meanings of some of the stones, or add new associations.

🔮 You’ll also want to start putting together your pre-divination rituals. A cleanse and a charge, a bit of grounding with incense, a hearty meal, a word with your ancestors? What works for you will become clear with practise.

🔮 In terms of the reading itself: make note of the shape that they have fallen in. The stones that are close together, and the ones that are far apart. Any that line up or form a shape. Some like to use a “self” stone or object that they can use to orient the reading around.

🔮 Some don’t cast all of their stones in one reading – I don’t. You can pick relevant stones for readings that are more specific, or just grab a random handful of stones from a bag and use those. That way, which stones are ‘drawn’ will tell you something all by itself. Change up how you cast and read during your practise period, try every method you can think of. Get creative!

🔮 I don’t think casting stones is good for yes/no answers personally, but did find this quick tip: pick a stone to mean yes/positive, and one to mean no/negative. Pick a ‘self’ stone or object. Cast them. Whichever one lands closest to the ‘self,’ there’s your answer.

🔮 I don’t know if I will, but you may also want to look into creating and incorporating a casting grid. These are shape and charts (usually on cloth) that you can cast upon, and act as a ‘map’ so that stones landing in certain quadrants will let you know what that particular stone is relevant to.

UPKEEP

🔮 Over time you can add to, take away from and generally change up your lithomancy set – what you pick to start off with isn’t the end all, be all. The best divination sets will change and become more attuned to you over time.

🔮 I tie my stones up in a square of batik fabric when not using them, and also use the fabric to cast upon. Simple, neat, effective.

🔮 Remember to keep on cleansing and charging your set as required.

Are you still accepting prompts <3 If so please can you do one where Kim says “Oh, come on. You know you love me,” to Trini, to which she responds with “I’d sell you to Satan for one corn chip.”, of course she is joking because she secretly is a softie for her tol gf :) (PS: i love your blog <3)

Hi! I am so sorry that this took so long for me to answer to. School has really been trying to take me down lately. Hopefully this isn’t too bad! P.S. Thank you! I <3 U.

“Trini,” Kim says once more, barely concealed exasperation in her tone. “We have to finish studying. The bio test is tomorrow. Can you please focus?”

Trini looks up to meet Kim’s dark eyes, from where she had been staring absent-mindedly at the mini galaxy swirling within the center of the morphing grid.

She looks up and she sees that the girl’s gaze is set on her pointedly, in mild annoyance–probably has been for a minute or so–and though she does feel guilty for how often she’s been spacing out during this study session, her exhaustion wins out in the battle as to what she’s going to express.

So, she sighs and falls back with a dramatic groan, throwing her right forearm over her eyes and her left over her stomach.

“Nooo,” she drawls out then. “I’m so tired. We’ve been studying for hours, Kim. If we don’t have it at this point, then we aren’t going to have it at all.”

And Trini’s eyes might be covered, but she can just picture the small frown that pulls down Kim’s lips next, an adorable pout that always makes the shorter girl weak in her knees and even weaker in resolve.

“That’s not true. You just give up too easily,” Kim says.

“Or maybe you don’t know when to give up,” Trini replies in turn. “Seriously, Kim. You know that I love you, but you also know how you get when it comes to these things.”

Kim scoffs.

“Well, sorry for just trying to get us to pass biology so that we won’t have to add summer school to our schedules this year. Sue me if that’s so wrong.”

Trini removes her arm from over her face now, so that she can instead look at the other girl, who is sitting a few feet away from her, with her legs crossed and her short hair tucked behind her ears, a pencil resting just against the back of one as well.

Her brown eyes are settled onto Trini still, and her eyebrows are furrowed deeply over them, a crease in between them that is just a bit too serious for the yellow ranger’s liking; Kim always stresses herself too much over these tests.

Trini rolls over onto her stomach, and she props herself up with her elbows, her hands clasped before her as a slow smirk makes its way onto her lips. She raises her eyebrows, and a playful look glints within her eyes.

“You know, I’d much rather just screw y–.”

“Don’t be vulgar!” Kim interrupts, an abrupt laugh bubbling from her now smiling lips as she tosses a crumpled piece of paper at Trini’s head.

Trini starts to chuckle too, but when the ball hits her face, she gasps dramatically before throwing her body backwards, her hand coming up to cover her nose as her shoulders hit the metal of the floor.

“Ow!” she exclaims. “I’ve been hit! Oh God, I’ve been struck down right in the middle of my prime!”

She rolls lightly from side to side, her face covered now by both of her hands, and she manages to keep her act up for about thirty more seconds before Kim’s laughter breaks her façade.

A smile spreads across her lips as the air just above her shifts with the addition of a new presence, but she quickly forces it to morph into an exaggerated frown as Kim’s hands grab gently at her wrists, to pull her hands away from her face.

“Oh, don’t be so dramatic,” Kim tells her lightly when she’s met with the sight of Trini’s pout. “I barely even tossed it at you, you baby.”

Trini’s pout deepens, her bottom lip jutting out even further and her eyebrows creasing even more so.

“That hurt,” she insists. “I should report you to the authorities.”

“And tell them what exactly?” Kim asks with a soft giggle. “That you’re a big baby that can’t take a paper ball to the face? Because that’s the truth, and if you say anything else they’ll just put you in jail; They don’t like liars.”

“I’m not sure that’s how the whole justice system works, Kim,” Trini says. “Do you even pay attention in Government class?”

Kim hums thoughtfully with a tilt of her head before answering with an honest, “No.”

Trini laughs, shaking her head and pursing her lips as she does so.

“See, and then you wonder why you’re stressed about the tests we take. I only got transferred into Government earlier this semester and even I know more than you. That’s sad, babe.”

“Hey!” Kim exclaims. “It is not my fault that the only classes I can’t pay attention in are the ones you’re in. I do just fine in the other five classes I take. So, technically, it’s all your fault that I get so stressed. You’re the catalyst for the chain of events that leads to me not knowing anything about the subject.”

“Well, looky there. You used the word catalyst correctly! There’s one correct question on the Bio test right there!”

Trini laughs as Kim scowls at her, but her laugh quickly morphs into a low whine as the other girl smacks at her upper arm.

“Ow!” she says again, her hand coming up to rub at her bicep. “What is with you and hurting me?! This is not how relationships are supposed to go, you know!”

Kim just shrugs.

“Stop saying stupid things, and then I won’t hit you. It’s as simple as that.”

Trini frowns.

“I don’t say stupid things!” she protests. “I think you just enjoy hitting me! Which I definitely do not enjoy, and which I do not want to take any longer!”

With the conclusion of her sentence, she turns over to push herself up onto her knees, and then her feet. She makes it about two steps before strong arms are wrapping around her waist, their hold firm and familiar.

“Oh, come on. Stop being so dramatic,” Kim says as she pulls Trini’s body back to be flush against hers. “You know you love me.”

Trini definitely does not melt into Kim’s touch at all as she fights the smile trying to tug at the corners of her lips–Nope, not a single bit.

“Honestly?” she asks monotonously, to prove that fact. “I’d sell you to Satan for one corn chip.” Kim gasps. “And not even like a Tostito’s corn chip. I’d do it for a Walgreen’s brand one.”

The grip on her waist loosens, and it gives her the opportunity to turn around within them.

She’s met with Kim’s pout, this time, and her heart practically swells within her chest, full and ready to overflow with endearment, at the sight.

“That was surprisingly more painful than one would expect,” Kim says seriously, a thoughtful furrow to her eyebrows. “Have you been working on that one for a while or something? Because, ouch.”

Trini chuckles lowly as she begins to, slowly, wrap her own arms around Kim’s waist.

“Actually, yes,” she replies. “I was going to use that one on Zack, the next time he tried to convince me that he was my favorite person, but, hey, the opportunity presented itself.”

She shrugs and tries to keep in the giggle that pushes at her lips as Kim’s puppy dog eyes widen.

“So now you’re implying that I’m not your favorite person?” the pink ranger asks, completely affronted. “Well, then what am I even doing here?”

She goes to pull away, but Trini isn’t having it.

“Okay, okay. Don’t leave. I’m sorry. I was just kidding,” the yellow ranger says, tightening her grip around the other girl. “You know you’re my favorite, baby. I was just kidding.”

Kim continues to look down at her with an unconvinced expression, her lips downturned and pursed.

“Oh, come on! I was just kiddinggg,” Trini insists after a few moments. “You know you’re my favorite. My one and only. The one true love of my life. The best thing to ever happen to me. My girl–.”

Kim finally laughs then, her smile breaking through the resistance she had been trying to continue, and her dark eyes shining as she leans down to rest her forehead against Trini’s own.

“Okay,” she interjects gently. “I believe you.” She presses a soft kiss to Trini’s nose. “You’re my favorite too. My one and only. The one true love of my life. The best thing to ever happen to me.”

Warmth swells within Trini’s chest at that, and it spreads through her entire body, from the bottom of her feet to the tips of her fingers, just as it always does. She smiles, loving and calm.

“Well, good. Because that would’ve been embarrassing if not.”

Kim hums lightly as she leans in.

“True,” she says, her lips hovering just above Trini’s own.

A few seconds pass, and then the yellow ranger is closing the distance between them, connecting their lips slowly and softly, comfortable and familiar.

They kiss for some moments, and then when they pull back, they press their foreheads together again.

“I love you,” Kim admits, quiet and true.

Trini smiles.

“I love you too.”

Kim raises an eyebrow.

“So, does that mean you’ll keep studying with me, then?”

Trini throws her head back with a groan.

“I guess it does.”

The smile that Kim flashes her before pulling her back to their books makes the prospect of learning about the different types of reactions not as hard to bear.

Man, Trini has it so bad.
