long live the hales

anonymous asked:

What are your favourite Sterek fics? Sorry if you've answered this before

Nobody asked before ! :) So there’s no order in this list (probably just by when I read it). (here’s my Top10 made on February 2017)

- Mated  : Stiles already had a history with skin magazines for werewolves. It wasn’t like he was new at this, even if his modeling portfolio was completely pathetic. He was cool and collected. He was a jaded professional. He was not at all prepared for working with Derek Hale. (37k)

- Mistletoe Never Lies :   Derek Hale loves his family, he really does. He just wishes they weren’t so determined to set him up. When he finally blurts out that he has a boyfriend, and quickly gives his mother the name of the barista at his local coffee shop as his “boyfriend”, he figures that buys him a little peace.
He probably should have been paying attention to the part of the conversation where he agreed to bring Stiles home for Christmas to meet the family.  (
19k)

- No Homo  : Stiles’ sophomore year starts something like this: 3 FourLokos
+ 1 peer-pressuring cat - 1 best bro to end all best bros = 1 Craigslist ad headline that reads “str8 dude - m4m - strictly platonic”. Derek is the fool who replies. (84k)

- Font size twenty-four : Stiles is a librarian and research professional extraordinaire. So, when Derek comes in, asking for help with research for his new book, it’s only natural for Stiles to offer his help. He just didn’t count on late night waffle eating, or that his heart would go boom. (10k)

- Cornerstone  : Suffering from PTSD, ex-Marine Derek Hale moves back to Beacon Hills to open a bookshop and find a calmer life. That’s where he meets Stiles, completely by accident. Stiles is talkative, charming and curious. Somehow, despite the fact that he’s blind, he’s able to read Derek like no one else. (83k)

- Windows  : Derek has a new neighbor who won’t stop looking.Excerpt:“You’re blind,” Derek said flatly, the anger draining from him so suddenly he felt almost woozy.  His vision cleared, his claws sliding back into blunt fingernails.“Thanks for the memo, genius,” the kid said acidly.  “I can still fucking defend myself, so don’t take another damn step.”“Fuck, I…I’m sorry,” Derek stuttered.“What?!”  The kid’s brow crinkled.  “I mean — what?! You’re fucking sorry!?”  His lips thinned into a harsh line.  “What, is this some kinda Hallmark movie where you’re discovering the error of your ways because you don’t want to rob a blind person?!  That’s fucking condescending, man.  I’ll have you know that —”“Just, wait.”  Derek interrupted what was apparently the start of a convincing argument as to why he should rob the kid after all, feeling his head start to spin.  “This is — it’s a misunderstanding.  I’m — I’m not robbing you.  You’re — you’re safe, okay?  I’m taking three steps back. Just — just let me explain.”“Explain why you came busting into my apartment?  Yeah, go right ahead, man, I can’t wait to hear this epic tale.” (83k)

- Practice Makes Perfect  : In his sophomore year, Stiles gets dragged to lacrosse tryouts by Scott and ends up practising alongside the senior captain, Derek Hale. Stiles just wants to live long enough to become a junior. (21k)

- Porn Wolf  : Derek Hale, a werewolf and porn star, also known as Darren Hayden, is looking for a new partner after a minor misunderstanding. He’s lucky enough to get a request from Stuart Novak, a popular twink with a thing for blowjobs, knotting and werewolves in general. A guy, Derek knows too well from a variety of videos and he maybe has been drooling over for a long time. But, how well does he know him really? And more importantly: Will they ever stop making suggestive and inappropriate jokes? (65k)

- Dude, Werewolves  : Stiles gets partnered with Cora for a history project, and they become bros.  Also, he kind of falls in love with her older brother, Derek. (30k)

- Hello, Heartbreaker: It’s a popular joke among Alphas: fuck an Omega, get heartbreak on your hands. Omegas are fragile little emotional things, needy and whiny. Stiles refuses to become that, or to believe that he’s anything like that.Stiles and Derek have been fuckbuddies for a while when Derek loses his memories of the past three years - and them - in an accident. (Also - everyone’s a werewolf, and everyone’s alive.) (18k)

- my heart’s been offline  : 31/M/New York. Rich, lays in bed all day, likes to read (aka Derek Hale, son of an Oscar winning actress, brother of one obnoxious reality star and one rebellious fashion designer, hates the paparazzi so much he’s a recluse)26/M/California. Boring office job, likes to read (aka Stiles Stilinski, co-owner of a 100 acre organic farm with his dad and two best friends, writer of obits for a newspaper, has absolutely no life)Or, where Derek and Stiles meet online, and Stiles has no clue Derek’s part of a famous family. (59k)

- Gravity’s Got Nothing on You  : “Three weeks,” Derek says. “Still don’t want to,” Stiles says.“I’ll pay you,” Derek says, and that… that has Stiles interested. Alf’s Antique’s may be a great job, but it’s not a high-paying job, and half of Stiles’s tuition is coming from financial aid, so…“How much,” Stiles asks, “are we talking here? Because I know your family, dude. And it’ll be kind of awkward after.““My family thinks you’re some sort of fucking gift to the world,” Derek seethes, like he’s jealous, “they’ll probably be pissed at me when we break it off, so don’t worry about that. Five hundred bucks.”“A thousand,” Stiles says, because screw ethics. Also, the Hale family is loaded. Derek can deal. (83k)

So when Bucky’s head is more or less on the better side of “unscrambled,” he finally gets his long overdue reunion with his living family members - Becca is still hale and healthy and kicking ass and everyone is quiet about why she doesn’t really look like a woman in her nineties.

It’s a Barnes thing.  And “Grampy” has also returned to the family fold to check on his descendants.

But we digress - “Uncle Bucky” had to meet his various niblings and nobody was surprised when he bonded with Becca’s favorite - Danny Williams.

See, apparently, a WWII veteran and super assassin had a lot in common with a Jersey cop currently assigned in Hawaii.

Danny may have taken after the Williams side of the family when it came to looks, but he had the Barnes Gab in spades and also, the fact that Barneses are Sane, Sensible and have a Great Sense of Self-Preservation.

(Please ignore the snickering of Certain Big Galoots in the corner.  It is TRUE.  We have a sense of self-preservation and we know when it’s the hill we don’t want to die on.  Because dying?  No, not in our schedule.  Especially if it involves dying in terrible, painful, exploding, torturing type ways.

Yes, we’ll follow you anyway.  We just reserve the right to bitch about it.  And wave our hands.  And pineapple on pizza is a god damn travesty - see, Uncle Bucky agrees with me.  This is why I know we’re relatives.  Family is sacred, you hearing me on this?

He tells me all the time that “book ‘em, Danno” means I love you.  What, so for you two it’s “till the end of the line?”  Damn, that’s …. kind of….. sweet.)

Also, a WWII vet and a Jersey cop transplanted into Hawaii have another thing in common.  Because maybe Fate has it in for them or God has a terrible sense of humor, they are constantly, constantly in harrowing, life-threatening situations while following after Certain Big Galoots and making sure that they are safe and sound.

See, this is the thing - they have had the bad luck, the sheer, utter misfortune, to fall for big puppy eyes, perfect Georgia peach asses, insane courage, the weird and wonderful ability to inspire people to follow them into hell and back for the sake of serving and protecting others, basically we both fell in love with bonafide superheroes.  One is a super soldier; the other is a Navy SEAL.  Same difference.

Also, they’re both named Steve.

We know we’re doomed.

Your Death/Funeral {Teen Wolf Preference}

requested by anon; I know you wanted it as a prompt but I felt that writing it as a preference would be easier and would give a better insight to what they’re feeling and thinking

Scott McCall;

Scott went through two large, difficult phases; sadness and anger. For the week leading up to your funeral, he had grieved and cried his heart out. You were his friend and now… you were gone. But, on the day of your funeral, as the pack all stood at your grave, his anger flared. He was sick of losing people. He hated it. He’d already lost so many people and now you were gone too. He was always hoping and wishing that you’d come back but you never did. As he stood, watching your casket being lowered into the ground, he decided that your death wasn’t for nothing. He was going to avenge you; he was going to make the villains pay. He was going to do it all for you.

Stiles Stilinski;

Stiles was utterly heartbroken. He’d lost count of the days he’d been awake and when he did go to sleep, he just had nightmares. He hadn’t properly broken down until he watched your casket be carried out of the church. The immensity of the situation hit him and he was inconsolable. How was he meant to cope without you? You were gone and… he was never going to see you again. He spent many a time telling Scott ‘it shouldn’t have been (y/n), it should’ve been me’. He was heartbroken and would be for a long, long time. He didn’t know how to live without you.

Derek Hale;

Derek had tried not to get too close to you at first in fear of this happening but you pushed through his walls and now you were dead. He couldn’t help but think that it was his fault; that he was cursed and because he let you in, you too were cursed for a tragic fate. Derek tried to be strong, tried to pretend that he was okay but he couldn’t do it. At your funeral, the tears did come and they didn’t really stop. He was sad and angry and felt horribly guilty. Not even Stiles had the happiness or strength to make a joke and say ‘you’re not much of a Sourwolf today’ because all of them felt awful and if Derek Hale cried, you knew that it was serious.

Lydia Martin;

Lydia already knew what was going to happen. She knew and tried desperately to stop it from becoming reality. But she couldn’t save you. She had been running when the scream exploded from her lips and she just broke. You were gone. One of her best friends was now… dead. The pain was too much. She had dealt with death before (that’s what being a Banshee was all about) but she’d never dealt with pain this bad. For weeks, she would remain in this constant state of sadness. She relied on the pack more than ever, especially at your funeral. The tears just kept flowing. You were really gone and she didn’t know how she was meant to handle that. She just wanted you back.

Allison Argent;

Allison was a mess. She had spent so long trying to be strong and then, as soon as she heard, she was devastated. You were one of her best friends and now you were gone… She would never be able to recover from that. As the days leading up to your funeral passed, the sadness was slowly being replaced by anger. She held on tightly to Lydia at your funeral as she plotted your vengeance. She wasn’t going to let you die for nothing. She was going to make it matter and mean something. The only thing that worried her was that, once she did avenge you (and she would), she would be left with the overwhelming sadness and pain, that would never really leave her.

Hi Guys! I figure for my first ever post I’d share a list of my favorite fanfictions.

Teen Wolf (Sterek)

See Derek Date by mikkimouse

When Derek sees his ex-boyfriend, Jordan, for the first time in ten years, he tells a little white lie about his love life (or lack thereof). Of course, that all blows up in his face when his sister Cora finds out and demands that Derek bring his (imaginary) boyfriend to her wedding.

Now he’s got one month to change that “imaginary” boyfriend into an actual one.

A Wild Heart’s Desire by mikkimouse

If there’s one thing Stiles Stilinski knows, it’s that Deputy Derek Hale absolutely Does Not Like him. The only reason Derek even tolerates him is because their kids are worryingly codependent.

So Stiles is understandably confused when a very feral Derek shows up in his backyard after a call gone wrong and proceeds to move in with him.

Out of Focus by exclamation

Stiles was taken prisoner by a coven of witches. Now his only chance of getting home is if he learns how to control his own magic… and stops blowing stuff up by accident. With surging power inside him that he can’t restrain, Stiles must deal with memories of the nogitsune, and fears that he might end up hurting those he cares about.

Meanwhile, his family and friends don’t even know if he’s alive. His father desperately searches for answers, and Derek will do anything in his power to find Stiles, even if it means asking an Argent for help.

our lives are changing lanes by grimm

There’s a lot of screaming going on inside the first house Stiles visits. He isn’t really worried, because it sounds like kids, but then the door opens and hi, says his dick, because the dude in front of him is gorgeous, built like a god with a face like thunder. Stiles wants to lick that solid jaw line. Hold the fuck on, says his cop brain, because the dude’s got kids hanging all over him; one’s on his back, skinny legs looped around his waist, and another two hanging off one arm, toes barely brushing the ground. There’s a tubby toddler clinging to his leg like a koala, and he’s got a baby tucked into the crook of the one arm that doesn’t have kids hanging off it. Stiles’ mouth drops open.

“How many of those kids did you kidnap?” he asks before he can wrangle his brain into submission.

The man gives him a look that says what the fuck is wrong with you and snaps, “You think I’d subject myself to this on purpose?”

“Oooh,” says one of the kids hanging off his arm. “I’m telling Mom.”

What I Did On My Summer Vacation by grimm

There’s something weird about Beacon Hills that Stiles can’t quite put his finger on. The way everyone in town knows his name the day he arrives. The way they insist the melancholic howling that echoes through the forest every night is just a dog. The way his dad denies getting a dog, even though Stiles comes home to find one sprawled across his bed, some big black thing whose eyes gleam red in the right light. The way that massive oak tree out in the woods vibrates under his touch, pulsing with sickly life.

There’s something weird going on in this town, and Stiles is determined to get to the bottom of it.

Stepping Off the Razor’s Edge by MissAnnThropic

After the events of season 3b, the group in Beacon Hills graduate high school and move on with their lives… everyone except Stiles and Derek. Beset by their demons, they decide they need to get away for a while to clear their heads. Cue the road trip. (companion piece to “Occam’s Razor” but can be read alone)

Not With a Bang, But a Shiver by captaintinymite (augopher)

Eighteen years ago, Earth froze over. You either adapted, or you didn’t survive. A group of nomads arrived at the coast, settling at the small shipyard. A lone barge, laden with containers, sat frozen in port.

They fashioned a functional society at the docks. Survivors came from all over, drawn to the Bear Beacon that burned atop a stack of shipping containers. Everyone did their part to keep it safe. The most skilled went out on the sea ice and sought out seals. The bravest ventured up into the forest to the junction of two frozen rivers. Yet… No one ever crossed that line.

There were stories of men who wore the skins of wolves and preyed on the weak. A young shaman, however, knew the real story. Men didn’t just wear the skins; they were the wolves. If his people didn’t cross into their territory, then they were left alone. Until one day, one pack strayed over the line and attacked first. In a desperate bid to escape, the shaman found he’d stepped over the boundary where he met a young, handsome wolf who had been warned to stay away from humans.

Neither could stay away from the other, and their romance would set in motion events no one could foresee: The thaw.

“Stiles knew damn well what a pissed-off wolf sounded like, and every hair on the back of his neck was telling him that somewhere in this room was a very pissed-off werewolf.” An AU in which Derek is feral, Stiles is magical, and they eat a lot of fast food.

Cornerstone by Vendelin

Suffering from PTSD, ex-Marine Derek Hale moves back to Beacon Hills to open a bookshop and find a calmer life. That’s where he meets Stiles, completely by accident. Stiles is talkative, charming and curious. Somehow, despite the fact that he’s blind, he’s able to read Derek like no one else.

between the click of the light and the start of the dream by thepsychicclam

A twig snaps, and then Stiles hears breathing and the rustle of leaves. He strains to get a better glimpse into the darkness, but it’s pointless. There’s nothing but a black void.

It’s Stiles’ senior year, and he’s trying to concentrate on normal things - like the lacrosse championship, spring break, prom, graduation (and definitely not Derek) - when he starts having nightmares and waking up in the middle of nowhere. Oh yeah, and he’s being haunted by a hag. Great.

Past The Breakers by thepsychicclam

Stiles and Scott get summer jobs at the exclusive Seawolf Beach Resort, and the last thing Stiles expects is to start taking surf lessons from the hot lifeguard.

This Might Be Irony by thepsychicclam

Stiles and Derek have been close friends since the Hale siblings moved in next door after their parents’ death. But Derek’s in the popular group, he’s a star baseball player, and he dates popular Pep Squad captain Jennifer Blake. Stiles doesn’t have any of that, just his skateboard and a hopeless crush on Derek (oh yeah, and his Vote Lydia Martin Prom Queen button). As prom and the baseball state championship grow closer, Stiles and Derek start rekindling their friendship.

And it all begins with two white boards.

A Desperate Arrangement by mikkimouse

“I’m sorry, I believe there’s something wrong with my hearing,” Stiles said. “Because I could have sworn you just told me you set up a betrothal agreement with the Hales. A betrothal agreement involving me. Me.

Scott smiled his easygoing smile and nodded, which told Stiles no, he hadn’t misheard a damn thing.

After seven years of lengthy negotiations, the treaty between the Hales and the Argents has fallen apart and the two countries fell into war.

Months later, there’s an uneasy truce, thanks to the intervention of King Scott McCall, but it won’t last. In a desperate attempt to maintain the peace, the Hales sign a treaty with the McCalls to marry Prince Derek to Prince Stiles Stilinski, King Scott’s brother.

In the history of the world, there have been many better ideas.

here comes trouble by grimm

WARNING! Mention of Past Rape/Non-Con

All Derek wants is one day where he can sleep without worry of being woken by gunfire, without the threat of death hanging over his head. He wants a full stomach and no pain clinging to his bones, no ache in his feet from months of running. He wants a shower, a safe place to put his head. He wants his family, the healing comfort of pack. He’ll never have any of that again.

My World Is Filled With Cheer And You by bleep0bleep

“It was a last minute decision. Single parents with children draw attention to themselves in this type of neighborhood, and this department didn’t have a big budget to relocate all the werewolf and werewolf sympathizers that were targeted on this list. We’ve combined a lot of our relocation assignments. It ended up working out that another family, Mr. Stilinski and his son, looked like a good fit for you guys, so you’ll be sharing a home with them for the time being.” Markowski grins at him. “Congratulations! You’re married!”

~In which Derek and his daughter are displaced just in time for the holidays, matched up with Stiles and his young son in a government protection program.

You Smell Like Mine by bleep0bleep, marguerite_26

People talk about the alpha instinct, an alpha’s head being swayed by a nice-smelling omega, or the desire to drop everything and show off. Derek’s never felt any of that. He’s just not that kind of alpha.

Then he meets Stiles.

Practice Makes Perfect by blacktofade

In his sophomore year, Stiles gets dragged to lacrosse tryouts by Scott and ends up practising alongside the senior captain, Derek Hale. Stiles just wants to live long enough to become a junior.

Bicycle Flavored Ice Cream by words_reign_here

Derek finally has everything where it should be. His pack is good, strong, back from college and they are a cohesive team. Other than the occasional witch, hunters and blip in the road, this is what it should have always been like. A pack in the Hale house, watching out for Beacon Hills.

Forgiveness Is A Hell Of A Thing by words_reign_here

Stiles didn’t even glance up from the book in his hands before saying to the alarmingly tight pair of jeans and knee high boots in front of his desk, “Information is out front. They can help you with what you are looking for.”
“Actually, Emissary.” A soft and clear voice said, “I don’t think they can.”
Allison stared at him, amusement and small smile on her face.
Stiles dropped the four hundred-year-old book in his hand.

A Place Where I Belong by AllTheseSquaresMakeACircle, CaptEdKenway

Stiles just buried his father. At seventeen, he’s now an orphan. Not only that, he’s a Spark. And according to California state law, the family that takes him in must also be classified as supernatural. Enter the Hales. The most renowned and respected werewolf family on the West Coast. He doesn’t want to go. He wants his dad back. He wants his house back. He wants things back to the way they were before the sky came crashing down. But Derek Hale has agreed to take him in. And there’s no changing that. So as he’s always said, give em hell. And he intends to.

Losers by stilinskisparkles

Where Derek is new to college, eager to spend his time learning, and Stiles is everything he didn’t want in a room mate. He’s loud, he’s into sports, and he keeps trying to make Derek do things.

Or, the one where Derek falls for a jock, Erica will cut you if you disturb her studying, and Jackson is a closeted romantic who pretends to hate everything.

Remember Me by stilinskisparkles

When Stiles wakes up he sees a pair of eyebrows knitted together. He blinks and a blurry face comes into view. The face looks angry, no, furious.

Once Upon A Dream by stilinskisparkles

Derek watches as Melissa and Queen Claudia move towards the courtyard, Scott and his fairy friends following quickly. The baby makes a small cry as they disappear, and Derek moves towards them on instinct, drawn to it without explanation. Talia catches his shoulder and holds him still, though.

“Not yet, Derek, sweetheart,” she murmurs. “You can’t follow, yet.”

Wild Horses by thepsychicclam

Derek’s a drifter with no home, no destination, and no will to live. Stiles works on his family’s failing cattle and horse ranch while all his friends are going off to college. When Derek falls asleep in a random barn, exhausted and half-starved, he doesn’t expect to wake up on the other end of the sheriff’s shotgun. And Stiles sure as hell doesn’t expect his dad to invite the drifter in for breakfast.

“Stiles shouldn’t accept rides from werewolves he meets behind abandoned convenience stores.” In which the zombie apocalypse is just one of their worries.

The Newlywed Game by Captain_Loki

Stiles is (still) single when the pack’s getaway to the Caribbean comes by (oh misplaced optimism); lucky for him Derek is committed to being uncommitted and even after all these years is still powerless against Stiles’ unique forms of persuasion.

Cue a romantic getaway for two: sun, sand, and sarcasm abound…and the two roped into competing in the Resort’s version of the Newlywed game. Only it’s completely obvious it’s going to end in disaster. Probably homicide.

Most probably homicide.

Plot twist: It doesn’t.

Bite Down Hard by KuriKuri

For a moment, Derek can’t breathe.

Because moles aren’t the only thing marring the pale skin of Stiles’ neck. Oh no, that’s –

– that’s a bond bite. A bond bite which Stiles definitely did not have yesterday, and which appears to have roughly the same dimensions as Derek’s own mouth.

Shit.

Little Wild Animal by DiscontentedWinter

Derek Hale finds a feral human on his pack’s property.

The Wolf That Heard Crying by grimm

There was someone in Derek’s house. He was on his way back from a hunt, licking blood from his muzzle when he heard the sound of smashing wood coming from inside. Derek snarled quietly, leaping up onto the back deck without a sound. He paused in the doorway to the living room, eyes burning red in the dim light. The boy whacking the wall with a moldy piece of timber was different than the ones who had come before. He wasn’t laughing, wasn’t enjoying himself as pieces of rotten flew from both the wall and the wood in his hands. He smelled of sadness and desperation and anger, and when the piece of wood in his hands finally splintered the boy sank to his knees and cried.

I Dream of Stiles by runningwithdinosaurs

In retrospect, Derek never should have rubbed the lamp.

But Derek did, which is how he got stuck with Stiles, who was truly a terrible genie. He didn’t even do things the way a normal genie was supposed to.

“What do you mean ‘it’s not three wishes’?” Derek bit out, glaring at Stiles, who was perched on the end of his couch. Literally perched. Like crouched on his tip toes.

“I don’t really know how to make it clearer,” Stiles said, long fingers twisting in the bright red hoodie he was wearing. “Is English not your first language? No son tres deseos. Ce ne est pas trois souhaits. To nie trzy życzenia.”

(Or the one where Stiles is a genie and Derek lives broken and alone in New York until a certain mole-covered immortal teenager LITERALLY pops into his life.)

Can’t Take the Heat? by Ilovesocks_24

“Hi, I’m Stiles, and what I have for you today is…”

“Stop, just stop.” Grumpy Eyebrows interrupted. “That is honestly the worst looking Pasta Primavera I have ever seen. I don’t even want to eat it, it looks so bad.”

Stiles narrowed his eyes. No one insulted his creamy bacon carbonara without even trying it. And no one insulted his creamy bacon carbonara after they tried it either.

“It’s actually a Creamy Bacon Carbonara, asshole,” Stiles snapped. “And for the record, it’s supposed to look like that.”

Or the one where Stiles is a new sous chef at Full Moon Steakhouse and Derek is the Gordon Ramsay of all head chefs. So of course they fall in love.

You Only Live Once…or Twice by WonderWolf

“Anything,” Derek’s eyes are determined, boring into Stiles’.

Stiles huffs a laugh, “Careful there, big guy. Don’t want to be promising anything to every necromancer you meet. Some might ask for your soul or someth—”

“I’ll give you my soul to bring her back,” Derek says, his voice steady and strong with resolve, “if that’s what you want.”

Stiles’ mouth gapes open for a moment before his brain kicks into gear and he stutters out, “N-no, I don’t ask for that. I only ask for money.”

(Or the one in which Stiles is a necromancer who needs help stopping a rogue alpha and Derek is the solution, but at what cost?)

You Can Hear It In the Silence by Mimiminaj

Stiles focused on Derek’s face long enough to see a flicker of regret flash across it. Good. Serves him right for throwing him against a brick wall.

Stiles felt his back hit said well, and he went limp as Derek worked his coat closed.

“I don’t think you can take me to the hospital though, Derek.”

The hands stilled.

“And why is that?”

“I don’t think they allow dogs.”

“I’m going to kill you.”

All Stirred Up by jsea, marguerite_26

Derek’s first duty as a new deputy is the early morning coffee run to The Leaky Carafe, and it’s not long before he discovers that the quirky barista has a knack for making the perfect drink. Every time. Even before you order.

But is it intuition, luck or magic that has all Stiles’ customers leaving happy?

Fire, Fury, and Flame by IAmAVeronica

Stiles Stilinski was never going to be the omega who got knocked up right after high school, and then he’s accidentally artificially inseminated with a stranger’s sperm.
Awesome.
And the father of Stiles’s baby just so happens to be Derek Hale. Half-feral, quite possibly a murderer, and pursued by a gleefully sadistic band of hunters who are only too eager to use Stiles and his baby to hit Derek right where it hurts.
Joy.

The Fox & The Wolf by Dexterous_Sinistrous

The war between the fox and wolf clans has raged for centuries, ignited in a time before anyone can remember. Now both clans—tired of the bloodshed and hate—are searching for a way to end the war.

Crowned prince Stiles Stilinski—heir to the fox clan—has agreed with his father to meet with the Hales, the ruling royal family over the wolf clan. Under the counseling of the Druids, both clans are presented with a solution to the war: unite the Stilinski and Hale clans through marriage. To quell their people’s anger, both Stiles and Derek—eldest living Hale Alpha—are urged to accept the other as an equal; as their mate.

For the sake of their people, both houses make the ultimate sacrifice by choosing duty over love. But, out of what was first assumed to be compromised, quickly turns to be a better match than either could have hoped for. But not all is easy for either clan, as some members refuse to believe that the war could end so easily.

Rainy Days Never Prepared Him For This by allyasavedtheday

When Stiles left Beacon Hills for college he totally didn’t sign up for getting drenched every day when making his journeys from his apartment to the bus to campus and back again as soon as he moved out of the dorms. And yet, that’s his life and has been for the past four years.

But there is one upside.

Derek knows that Stiles is too young for him, but Stiles doesn’t agree. Eight years after Derek rejects him due to the age gap, they meet again where Derek has settled in Wyoming as a ranch hand, and Stiles is the new deputy, and still pissed as hell about the way Derek turned him down. Things don’t go as either of them planned. (I’m sure a million fics have been written about older Stiles and Derek, but this one has cowboy Derek, does that help?)

With or Without You by KouriArashi

Derek thinks that the mating rituals are overly romanticized bullshit, but claiming a mate and defending them from challengers is something werewolves do, and his pack can’t afford to appear weak after the fire. Especially not when Deucalion and his friends are in town for the rituals. Enter Stiles Stilinski, who offers to let Derek claim him so he won’t be overrun at the ceremonies. Nothing goes as expected.

Divided We Stand by KouriArashi

Derek is being pressured by his family to pick a mate, and somehow stumbles into a choice that they didn’t expect and aren’t sure they approve of….

Strut on a Line, its Discord and Rhyme by xiaq

“Carry me,” Stiles says.

“No.”

“But I’m injured.”

“You have a rash,” Derek says. “On your arm. Your feet work just fine.”

“Please?”

“No. You weigh almost as much as I do. And you ate a pound of chicken at lunch.”

“Well, yeah, but I pooped like an hour ago, so.”

“You’re disgusting.”

“Don’t play, you love me.”

I do, Derek thinks, relatively horrified. I really do.

Diamonds Are Forever (but flowers are cheaper) by tylerfucklin (zimothy)

His name was Stiles Stilinski. He was older than 21, but younger than 25. His dad was the sheriff and he was a student at Beacon Hills Community College. He came into the shop every couple days; always after three, but never past five. He always said hello to Laura, always bought one bouquet, and always spent five minutes trying to make Derek smile with as many puns as he could come up with by the time Derek handed him his receipt.

Derek may or may not be in love with him.

Ten Days by hatethesilence312

Derek Hale does not like babies. So when his pack gets turned into babies, it’s pretty much the worst thing that could happen to him.

The Price by theroguesgambit

Stiles must surrender the most important thing in his life to protect the town… and no one can figure out what it was.

Red Velvet by arrowofcarnations

Stiles is pretty used to people coming to visit him at Sweet Stuff when he’s baking. It’s only when Isaac starts bringing along one Derek Hale that things start to get really interesting.

There’s Monsters at Home by calrissian18

WARNING! Dubious Consent

“How did you get past the wards?” Derek had put them up, with Peter’s grudging assistance, after the Alpha pack had made themselves at home a few times too many.

The guy pulled a face. “You mean the wards a five-year-old girl with the mental ability of a goldfish could deconstruct?” He blinked wide eyes at Derek. “Gee, I don’t know. It’s bound to go down as one of life’s great mysteries.”

Derek despised him.

A Simple Life by Survivah

Derek plans to spend the rest of his life holed up in the woods after Laura dies. Then he meets a stubborn young fox, and the stubborn young fox meets an urn of Deaton’s magic powder, and his plans change.

But Then What… by Stoney

Senior year is almost over, and all Stiles needs to do is keep his head down to survive. A teacher calls in a favor, leaving him stuck tutoring Derek Hale, one of the most popular jocks in school and a member of a group of douchecanoes who have bullied Stiles for years. He’s someone Stiles totally hates. Totally. Like, doesn’t like him even a little bit. DEFINITELY isn’t attracted to him.

Except that is a total lie. Fuck his life, seriously.

No Refills by scottmcniceass

Stiles spends almost every night at Winston Diner. They have the best coffee he’s ever tasted, and free wifi. Of course, the only waiter ever on staff after eleven, Derek, was a piece of work. But maybe, underneath that chilly personality, Derek was the kind of person who Stiles didn’t mind spending every night with, after all.

Electricity In the Contact by ladyblahblah

In which Derek has been invited to the Greater Pacific Northwest Alpha Symposium (that’s not what it’s called, Stiles, stop saying that), and showing up unattached would mean an arranged marriage. When the rest of the pack objects, he agrees to let Stiles come along to pose as his mate. Derek is reasonably sure that he’s not going to make it out of this weekend alive.

call it a wild card by stilinski

“I am not playing the part of your fearless boyfriend, and you’re not playing prom queen. I am your bodyguard and this is what I do. You will trust me to get Erica out safely or I will strip you of any illusions you still have that I’m a skinny wretch and put you in the trunk, are we clear on that?”

“That’s unprofessional.”

Silence.

Derek grunts. Stiles nods, satisfied.

Come Fly With Me (Or Don’t) by stilinskisparkles

Stiles is overworked and stressed out when his flight home gets delayed due to copious amounts of snow. He finds entertainment with one Derek Hale, whom he hasn’t seen since high school but really doesn’t mind getting reacquainted with.

Especially when it turns out Derek is surprisingly hilarious and will reluctantly play snap with him. And can walk on his hands.

Inevitable You by Red_City

“I’m Derek’s mate,” Stiles gets out, breathing hard. There is silence in the room.

As he looks around, he realizes that everyone else knew.

The thing is, they never actually talked about it.

Then Scott made a joke one day, calling Derek his boyfriend, and Stiles had rolled his eyes. But he didn’t contradict him.

Your Mark on my Skin by afullrevolution

Everyone had a mark scrawled somewhere across their body. A name, usually a signature to represent their soul mate, their one and only true love. Stiles has known who his mark belonged to since the third grade. He doesn’t understand how Derek can be so oblivious.

Fighting Like a Feather by Insignem

“They sit there, not really talking anymore, but Stiles doesn’t feel the need to fill the silence with words. The knowledge that the loneliness is shared, he thinks, is enough. Enough to soften the sting of it - just like the rain, washing away its sharp edges until it barely hurts at all.”

In which there’s lots of rain, Stiles takes up running, and he and Derek find each other.

Stay. by paradis

He leaves because the press of Derek’s lips and the sting of his teeth against Stiles’ neck are still burning his skin, and he can’t stop touching them, but then he remembers Derek telling him he’s not pack, he never was, and that he doesn’t belong here.

He leaves because Lydia asks him too, but he doesn’t go back to Beacon Hills because no one asked him to come back.

waiting for you to say it first by paradis

Four months.

Four months they’ve managed to avoid one another. Stiles quit going to pack meetings. He quit doing research unless Scott really, really begged him to. He avoided driving the road that led out to the turnoff to the Hale house, he avoided going to all the spots where Derek might possibly be. Four months, and now, here they are, standing in the Minit Mart, Stiles thinks, staring down at the grimy tiles. He can hear the catch of Derek’s breath, and he closes his eyes and breathes deep.

Let’s Not Talk About It by hannah_baker

“You can’t have a platonic romantic relationship,” Scott said when Stiles had tried to explain what had happened the previous night.

“I’m not saying it’s platonic. Obviously making out isn’t platonic. But it’s not like, romantic. I’m not waxing poetic about his gorgeous hazel eyes or how ridiculous his biceps are-”

“Really?” Scott asked, interrupting him. “Because it sounds like you are.”

Or, the one where Stiles’ relationship problems could be solved so easily by talking about it. So naturally he doesn’t.

When Nothing Else Works by hannah_baker

Sheriff Stilinski is slowly and begrudgingly accepting the fact that werewolves exist, regular bad things still do happen sometimes, and his son may or may not be dating Derek Hale behind his back.

Those That Bump In The Night by bleep0bleep

A boy’s head appears upside down, hanging off the bed. “Is anyone there?” he calls out curiously, looking right at Derek’s eyes.
Caught, then. The protocol for being deliberately seen by a child is just to look as strange and fearsome as possible. No one would believe them, anyways. But Derek is tired, and he’s been running and scared, and now he just kind of flickers, curling out a tendril of dark smoke, hoping that he’s a little bit scary.
No such luck.
The boy’s eyes widen. “Oooh, are you the bogeyman?”
“Bogeyperson,” Derek says, before he can help himself.

When Stiles was a boy, he had an imaginary friend named Derek. Ten years later, Derek comes back, and is very, very real.

Home by TheTypewriterGirl

January seventh. Seven days since the start of 2015, and seven days since his father’s death.

The bastard, he thinks bitterly. The past year Derek Hale had made it blatantly obvious that he hated his scrawny guts, taking every given opportunity to shove him up against a wall, growl threats in his ears and roll his eyes whenever he stepped into the room, muttering some snide comment about how spastic or idiotic he was.

So why did he fucking volunteer to take him in?

Stiles feels a bit like a heroine in a trashy Hallmark Channel movie (not that he’s ever seen one) when Derek bursts through the ER doors, Stiles firmly tucked against his side.

The Littlest Alpha by triedunture

Derek and Stiles have taken out the Alpha Pack and pretty much saved the world. Okay, the town. Okay, their remaining friends. But the Alphas left something behind: a baby. And this baby is an Alpha too. Derek is determined to take care of the abandoned child, and Stiles is stuck going along for the ride.

But Stiles doesn’t expect the ride to include seeing another side of Derek, or to find another way to say “family.”

‘What he didn’t say, what he didn’t explain, was that he wouldn’t be able to focus whilst thinking of Stiles being in danger. He refused to admit it out loud. He could barely even admit it to himself. He had lost too many people he had cared about, and he wasn’t prepared to lose anymore. And for some reason, for some incomprehensible reason that Derek really didn’t understand at all… he cared about Stiles.’

“I’ll bring it to the cleaner’s and give it back to you,” Stiles said, and then Derek didn’t see his jacket for three weeks and just assumed Stiles forgot all about it.

Only then he does bring it back and, well. It doesn’t smell like smoke anymore, that’s for sure. It holds a weeks-old sort of chemical scent, he assumes from wherever Stiles brought it to be cleaned, so faint Derek would hardly notice if he weren’t looking for it. Under that, a hint of Derek’s own scent. All overlaid with a whole lot of teenage boy. Like Stiles threw it on the ground and rolled around on top of it for a year or so.

Stiles keeps scent-marking Derek, and it’s going to drive Derek crazy.

Somewhere In Between by amazingpages

Derek’s been letting his job dictate his life ever since he was promoted from freelance photographer to official travel photographer. In his five years of travel, he’s built relationships in countries all across the globe, yet he still returns home after each job as lonely as ever. When he decides to try out the pen pal site Laura recommends to him, he doesn’t know what to expect. Derek isn’t prepared for Stiles, a small town guy with big dreams of seeing the world. And he certainly isn’t prepared to fall in love with him. He has to remind himself that this is just a pen pal thing and not to get carried away. It’s not like Stiles could ever like him back.

WARNING! Mention of Past Rape/Non-Con

Scott’s mom, Melissa, had given Stiles the basics on Derek’s condition when he’d first come over here a month ago. Derek had been here six years, the only survivor of a horrific house fire that had killed the rest of his family. It had left him burned, half his face puckered with scars, and he’d been in a catatonic state the entire time. Stiles couldn’t even begin to imagine how awful that would be, being trapped in your own body for years on end, all alone.

Stiles had an inkling of how much being alone sucked, anyway.

To celebrate Fanfiction Writers Appreciation Day, I have decided to, for once, create a rec list of a ton of my favorite sterek fanfictions. These are not all of them of course. I have over 900 bookmarks, okay, and you can find all of those here. But these are ones that have stuck out to me, been read tons of times, and that I truly love. Over two hundred are listed here, so this should keep y’all occupied for a while, lol.  It was so many, one post could not contain them all. This is PART I. You can find Part II here

And because I also love and appreciate myself, and I put a lot of hard work into what I write, a few of my own fics may be sprinkled in here as well. ;)

@nicoeatsbooks replied to your posturg, I’m bored and feel like writing, but have no…

A tiny prompt: I took all your sweaters home from the laundromat by mistake!

I had fun writing this, hope you like!!

Stiles holds up the soft cashmere sweater with the thumb holes between his index and thumb and says, “You’re not mine.”

He looks down at his—or what he thought was his—laundry basket and admits that it is most definitely not his laundry basket.

1.  There’s no living la vida Yoda sticker on the side with Yoda dressed in a Hawaiian shirt, coconut and bendy straw included.  Stiles thinks it’s funny.  Scott doesn’t get it because he’s a heathen

2.  It’s a totally different colour, which yes, Stiles could understand, because he was very much inebriated last night when he went to do his laundry.  He needs to be.  Stiles is a T.A. for a 101 class, and if he isn’t, he won’t be able to look at papers without laughing his ass off.

3.   There is no plaid.  Like not a single piece, not even plaid boxers.  Stiles is scandalized.  How could this person live, survive even, without the wonders that is wearing variations of the same plaid shirt on khakis every single day of their life.

Stiles shakes his head, and shrugs, pulling the cashmere sweater over his undershirt.  Oh well, finders keepers.  He wonders for a second what the person who ended up with all his plaid did with it, before the swaddling goodness of the cashmere consumes him again, making him think of nothing but fluff clouds and rainbows.  Mmmm, soft.

He bikes to class, feeling warmer than he’s ever been before while wearing only two layers.  Maybe he should invest in more sweaters like this?  Stiles lives on a grad student budget, which means he eats ramen and bok-choi most days, and if he’s lucky, finds himself an egg to crack on top.  If he’s lucky.

But then again, how much could a cashmere sweater cost, really?  Ten bucks?

He skids his bike to a stop, quickly locking it (He learned his lesson after the second stolen bike), before running through the school and crashing through the classroom doors, right on time.  He looks to the front row, and is surprised to see Mr. stoic-never-ever-going-to-be-late-for-class-as-long-as-I-live-or-at-least-until-the-earth-freezes-over-Hale, is surprisingly not in his seat.

Stiles bites his lip in worry.  He means it when he says Derek’s never been late, Stiles has known him for just over six months now and he’s always at least ten minutes early for class.  Stiles hopes nothing is wrong with him.  He may say Derek’s punctuality pisses him off, but that doesn’t mean he wants anything bad to happen to the guy.

Stiles admires Derek.  He’s good to the baby undergrads, teaches them like he cares, and not like it’s just a job to him, unlike a few unmentionables… (Jackson Whittemore, ehem.)

Also, Stiles may or may not have a huge honking crush on Derek, but that has nothing to do with anything..  Seriously.  Nothing.

Just as the prof steps up to the podium, Stiles looks over his shoulder one last time, only to see Derek Hale himself slide into the classroom, shutting the door behind him quietly.

He freezes when he sees Stiles looking at him, before blood rushes to his cute, little ears faster than Stiles could double-take at what Derek’s wearing.

Because now Stiles knows why Derek’s late, and it has everything to do with the sweater Stiles is currently wearing, and the too small plaid shirt Derek’s got pulled on, looking like it’s in danger of popping its buttons at any moment.  And that Stiles recognizes as one of his.

Derek’s eyes wander over Stiles’ arms, from his bony wrists revealed when he pulled the sweater’s sleeves to his elbows, to his collarbone, where the sweater’s neck is so stretched it dips far enough to see the healthy spattering of hairs on his chest.

Derek turns redder than a tomato and nearly falls down the classroom steps.

Stiles grins like a hyena.  Best mistake ever.

It’s Always Been You, Dumbass (oneshot | 11,028 | Teen) *

“Alright, cool, we should go,” Stiles says breezily, dusting off his hands as he stands.
“We should?”
“Yeah!”
“But… Do you even care about photography?”
“Not as much as I should,” Stiles plants both his hands on the table, bracketing Derek in, “You’ll have to correct my miscreant ways.”

Easy Alpha (oneshot | 4,602 | Teen) *

Easy A/Teen Wolf AU. Wherein, Derek Hale is the high school hussy, Jackson and Scott really need to learn to use their inside voices. And, contrary to popular belief, everyone is still a virgin.

This Might Be Irony (oneshot | 38,340 | Mature) *

Stiles and Derek have been close friends since the Hale siblings moved in next door after their parents’ death. But Derek’s in the popular group, he’s a star baseball player, and he dates popular Pep Squad captain Jennifer Blake. Stiles doesn’t have any of that, just his skateboard and a hopeless crush on Derek (oh yeah, and his Vote Lydia Martin Prom Queen button). As prom and the baseball state championship grow closer, Stiles and Derek start rekindling their friendship.
And it all begins with two white boards.

Binomial Coefficients (oneshot | 20,783 | Teen) *

In which brainy freshman Stiles Stilinski wants star quarterback Derek Hale to join the math team, AKA math nerds in love.

the lunch table configuration (oneshot | 16,677 | Explicit)

Practice Makes Perfect (oneshot | 21,061 | Explicit) *

covalent bonds (Series | 9,204 | Explicit)

The Scheming Rhymes of Romance (Complete | 23,986 | Mature) *

A story in which Derek writes copious amounts of poetry, Stiles is very appreciative of said poetry as well as Derek’s smile, and all of their friends are oddly and extremely invested in seeing these two get their act together.

Eat, Knot, Love (Complete | 29,862 | Explicit)

Stiles Stilinski, an omega and teenage nobody, is going into heat very soon.
Alpha Derek Hale takes notice.

R.A.P.I.L.A. (Series | 30,005 | Teen) *

The first time Stiles talks to Derek Hale, it’s raining, it’s pouring, and Scott went and ditched him to ‘study’ with Allison.
(Thank you, best friend Scott.)

Accidentally in Love (oneshot | 9,384 | Mature)

Derek has spent his summer vacation crushing on the Sheriff’s son Stiles Stilinski, mostly from afar, but then when school starts suddenly Stiles is sitting next to him in Chemistry and inviting him around to his place after school.
Derek’s not sure what gives but he’s certain that Laura’s behind it.

(I Hate to be) The one to Ruin the Night (Complete | 14,550 | Explicit)

Derek doesn’t plan on ever getting mixed up with Scott McCall and his little gang of idiot friends. In fact, if he knew to avoid it, he would, but he guesses he just isn’t smart enough. Unfortunate, considering the consequences.

Wait for it (oneshot | 3,804 | Teen)

Funny, how you can exist adjacent to someone through elementary, middle, and high school and not really know them. Funny, how Stiles had always had some strange crush on Derek without actually being his friend.

Stiles will just have to try harder next time. No one can ignore him forever.

can’t be hateful, gotta be grateful by HalfFizzbin (6,260 - Rated T)

(Or, the one where the Stilinski men drag Derek to Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma’s and she gets the right wrong idea.)

Come So Hard Motherfuckers Wanna Fine Me by sadtomato (3,330 - Rated E)

Stiles wakes up naked on the bathroom floor with a throbbing headache and Derek Hale taking care of him.

Come Fly With Me (Or Don’t) by stilinskisparkles (15,325 - Rated M)

Stiles is overworked and stressed out when his flight home gets delayed due to copious amounts of snow. He finds entertainment with one Derek Hale, whom he hasn’t seen since high school but really doesn’t mind getting reacquainted with.

Especially when it turns out Derek is surprisingly hilarious and will reluctantly play snap with him. And can walk on his hands.

Coming Home by sheafrotherdon (9,951 - Rated E)

When Stiles comes home from college for Thanksgiving break, the last thing he expects to develop is a sudden, overwhelming attraction to Derek Hale.

Father Knows Best by Pookaseraph (5,984 - Rated E)

Sheriff Stilinski has finally figured out the cause of the rift between them: his son’s gay, and he’s effectively cut that line of communication. Being the good father that he is, he tries to make sure Stiles knows that he can tell him anything, especially about Derek Hale. Their wires seem to have gotten crossed somewhere.

I Should Meet You Because I Love You by derekstilinski (22,573 - Rated M)

Derek and Stiles meet online, and then in real life.

Nothing Short Of Perfect by GotTheSilver (27,019 - Rated E)

In which Derek and Stiles are made aware of their potential and have to make a choice about what their relationship will be.

Practice Makes Perfect series by blacktofade (33,713 - Rated E)

In his sophomore year, Stiles gets dragged to lacrosse tryouts by Scott and ends up practising alongside the senior captain, Derek Hale. Stiles just wants to live long enough to become a junior.

Trust In This (Even If You’re Scared Stiff) by otter (10,460 - Rated T)

Stiles’ kid has a tendency to get into fights and possibly has bad taste in friends. Or enemies. Stiles isn’t sure yet, but he’s pretty sure the other kid’s dad is too hot to be human.

And a bonus series:

Sparkly Pens by mm_coconut (Rated E)

Derek finds a notebook.

Untamed

Of course, the transfer kid gets mentioned because transfers are rare, but the news isn’t that exciting. In fact, according to Laura, no one even seems to know his first name. The only thing anyone has really figured out about him is that he’s American. And that’s not exactly hard because he obviously has an accent.

The only thing Derek really knows is that, despite other reports, he seems quiet enough, prefers to work alone, and has the most amazing shade of amber eyes that Derek has ever seen.
Not that he’s looking.
Obviously.
OR: A Harry Potter AU where Stiles is a Slytherin transfer student and Derek is the grumpy Gryffindor who falls in love with him.

There are also potions, elves, and falcons involved. Oh, and illegal use of magic. Obviously.

This was an adorable Harry Potter AU! :D Stiles gets thrown into Hogwarts during his fourth year, and while a magic whiz is not very pleased to be there. I loved how this was written - Stiles is still from Beacon Hills, and as a muggle-born is having a bit of trouble adjusting to a purely magical life. He’s homesick, can’t get any wifi, and doesn’t understand why there are such antiquated systems in place. It’s a nice bit of fluff with some valid critiques of Hogwarts and magical London. It’s lovely!

* seems to me it’s chemistry by HalfFizzbin (4,153 words | Rated T | One-Shot)

Awkward Nerd Derek has been crushing on Handsome Jock Stiles since forever-so getting paired with him on a Chemistry project is definitely the best/worst thing that’s ever happened to him.

* Tutor!Verse by betp (20,658 words | Rated T, then M | Series)

“You’re gorgeous,” Stiles tells Derek, glasses glinting. “We should definitely be having sex right now."
"Your dad is downstairs,” Derek replies, blushing furiously, “and we are studying."
"Dude, look into my eyes and find even a single trace of evidence that I give a shit about either of those things, I double-dog dare you."
Derek does. There isn’t any. "Wow, you’re right,” Derek says. “You don’t care at all.”

In which Derek is the worst at history and Stiles wears glasses.

* Practice Makes Perfect by blacktofade (21,057 words | Rated E | One-Shot)

In his sophomore year, Stiles gets dragged to lacrosse tryouts by Scott and ends up practising alongside the senior captain, Derek Hale. Stiles just wants to live long enough to become a junior.

* Fly A Little Faster by mirrorkill (32,052 words | Rated T | One-Shot)

Everyone knows when you go back in time, you shouldn’t step on an ant, just in case you accidentally kill your own grandparent or something. But what happens when you go back in time and, uh, accidentally interrupt the one event that apparently made the Grumpiest Alpha in Town into a ball of mindless manpain?

Well, if Marty McFly can do it, so can Stiles Stilinski. All he has to do is get Derek and Paige to fall in love before he gets pulled back to his own time. And before he makes anything worse. That’s easy as pie, right? Right?

* C'mon Now Sugar by teamfreewolf (40,067 words | Rated T | 10/10 Chapters)

Stiles helps his father out with his private investigation agency while trying to survive high school. But when murders that might be connected to the death of his best friend Laura start occurring, he is forced to team up with her brother Derek to get to the bottom of it.

Prince Among Wolves (101000: E)

Looking for full day/evening sitter. 2 twin boys age 4. Must have exp. w/werewolves. Must be human. No pedophiles. No teenage girls. Pay negotiable.

Divided we Stand (156742: M)

Derek is being pressured by his family to pick a mate, and somehow stumbles into a choice that they didn’t expect and aren’t sure they approve of….

You Don’t See Straight (174981: E)

Stiles finds himself in a secret werewolf community to participate in a mating run…

[Sleep] Walking After You (56551: M)

Derek is a sleepwalker who keeps wandering into his downstairs neighbors’ bedroom.

Stiles is pretty sure the hot guy from the park is going to kill him in his sleep. He knows he shouldn’t have been so obvious about objectifying the guy’s really fine ass.

Too bad it turns out Derek is easier to get along with when he’s sleeping.

He’s Not Mine (68534: E)

Derek comes home to find an abandoned werebaby on his front porch and Stiles volunteers to help him out. Surprisingly, that is just the beginning of his problems.

Practice Makes Perfect (21057: E)

In his sophomore year, Stiles gets dragged to lacrosse tryouts by Scott and ends up practicing alongside the senior captain, Derek Hale. Stiles just wants to live long enough to become a junior.

The Boy and the Beast (116686: M)

In which events in Beacon Hills go rather differently from the start, and a Beauty and the Beast (ish) story ensues. (Scott is not a teacup and no one sings about their feelings.)

Fireman Derek’s Crazy Pie (17698: T)

“He can’t blame me for the fact that I live in a building full of people united in the singular effort to ogle Hot Fireman as often as humanly possible.“

Laura laughs, loud and echoing in the empty restaurant.

"Hot firemen can make a girl do crazy things,” she agrees, nodding towards her brother’s name on the menu. “Derek won’t let me date anyone from his company, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the eye candy.”

“Send them my way,” Stiles suggests, finally loading up a forkful of pie. “Apparently I’m incompetent enough that I need to be babysat at all times, because it would be cheaper than dispatching a truck every time I try to use a kitchen appliance.”

Not Your Disney Romance (42065: M)

After a long-forgotten agreement of an arranged marriage between Derek and the daughter of another pack’s alpha resurfaces, Stiles takes it upon himself to become the most amazing fake fiance that a clueless, desperate alpha werewolf could wish for.

A Mating Moon (37354: E)

“Hey, Scott, so, I uh, there’s this amazingly hot guy and I’m uh, gonna spend the weekend with him but, you know, just to be careful, I’m sending you his picture, so if by some terrible chance my bloated corpse shows up sometime Monday, just, y’know pass this along to the authorities.” He pauses. “Uh. Kidding?” and then hangs up with a rush of air.

“That is the worst voicemail in the history of voicemails,” Derek says.

Patterns of Intention (17085: E)

Derek looked like the stuff of his deepest fantasies. His shirt was rumpled where Stiles had his hands in it, and he was breathing hard as well, chest heaving. His eyes—his eyes were glazed over and he looked stunned, like he’d been—like Stiles had—

“No,” Stiles said, blood draining from his face. The word was croaky and felt like it had to be wrenched out of his chest. “God, no.”

Don’t Worry Baby (20276: E)

“You know you’re allowed to ask for vanilla sex, right?” he says, afterwards. “We can do whatever you want. That’s kind of the point.”

Derek doesn’t respond.

Electricity in the Contact (27067: E)

In which Derek has been invited to the Greater Pacific Northwest Alpha Symposium (that’s not what it’s called, Stiles, stop saying that), and showing up unattached would mean an arranged marriage. When the rest of the pack objects, he agrees to let Stiles come along to pose as his mate. Derek is reasonably sure that he’s not going to make it out of this weekend alive.

Enemy Lines (149179: E)

This is the story of werewolf Derek Hale and human Stiles Stilinski: two people who grew up in the same town but completely different worlds, their realities split by the war between men and wolves.

Years later when Derek returns to Beacon Hills, he does it as Alpha of a military pack on a mission to capture those responsible for the region’s resistance. With his main objective, Sheriff Stilinski, out of sight, he settles for the next best thing: his son, Stiles.

Neither of them suspects they’ll need to trust each other if they want to make it out this alive.

Play it Again (63206: T)

In which Stiles goes along with one of Derek’s plans and ends up in an alternate universe as a result. He should’ve known better. He did know better, actually, and that means he has no one to blame but himself.

According to Plans (72744: E)

Five times Stiles and Derek pretend to be boyfriends, and the one time they didn’t have to pretend at all. (Or: in which Stiles’ plan for senior year is completely ruined by a supernatural creature stalking him.)

Don’t Speak (68916: T)

The Alpha pack has systematically attacked Stiles and his friends for months, testing their strengths and weaknesses. When one of the Alphas goes after Stiles, he awakens in the hospital and realizes that something’s wrong. Very wrong. All sounds seem to hurt him, he can’t understand what anyone is saying, and when he tries to speak, it’s gibberish. How is he supposed to deal with the fact that he’s lost the ability to communicate with his dad and his friends?

Without his ability to talk, his sarcasm, and his wit, what does Stiles even have left? Enter Derek, the only one who seems to make it better.

Softer then Silk, Stronger than Iron (116397: E)

Stiles should have left them where he found them and called the wildlife department but with Stiles being Stiles, and his damn paternal instincts flaring up, of course he didn’t. Instead he brought them to the Hale house. Hey, if hanging out with Werewolves could constantly get him into life threatening situations he should at least get something good out of it…like help raising the two little wolf cubs he’s suddenly fallen in love with.

He doesn’t even realize how much he’s affecting Derek. Unfortunately for Derek, the rest of the pack does.

Last to Know (55874: NR)

Every werewolf and shape-shifter in Beacon Hills is aware that Stiles is pregnant before he is. And apparently the first baby!werewolf being born into the pack (their Alpha’s, no less) is a big freakin’ deal and excuse enough for everyone to lose their damn minds. When Stiles figures out why everyone’s been acting so weird around him, he’s not amused.

Gravity’s Got Nothing on You (83980: M)

“Three weeks,” Derek says.

“Still don’t want to,” Stiles says.

“I’ll pay you,” Derek says, and that… that has Stiles interested. Alf’s Antique’s may be a great job, but it’s not a high-paying job, and half of Stiles’ tuition is coming from financial aid, so…

“How much,” Stiles asks, “are we talking here? Because I know your family, dude. And it’ll be kind of awkward after.“

“My family thinks you’re some sort of fucking gift to the world,” Derek seethes, like he’s jealous, “they’ll probably be pissed at me when we break it off, so don’t worry about that. Five hundred bucks.”

“A thousand,” Stiles says, because screw ethics. Also, the Hale family is loaded. Derek can deal.
