lone wolf and cub sword of vengeance

anonymous asked:

Do you know about any extremely good japanese film??. I've seen Hana Bi and thought it was awesome, but right now, I'm looking for a movie more like the ones from the trilogy of vengeance by Park Chan-wook or something good enough to be considered a cult movie. I don't know why, but I think you've seen some great films. Thanks in advance and have a good day!.

Confessions instantly comes to mind, also Love Exposure, 13 Assassins.

But Japanese film history is so rich. Pigs and Battleships, Sword of the Beast, Three Outlaw Samurai, Blind Beast, Manji, Giants and Toys, Goyokin, Battles Without Honor and Humanity, Vengeance is Mine, Harakiri.

And my favourite film series of all time, Lone Wolf and Cub.

Shogun Assassin was created by editing together footage from the first two Lone Wolf and Cub (Kozure Ookami) films, Sword of Vengeance” and “Baby Cart at The River Styx”. It uses about 11 minutes of footage from the first film and 70 minutes of footage from the second.
The Lone Wolf and Cub films are based on the original manga (story by Koike Kazuo, illustrations by Kojima Goseki), a 142-episode epic, which ran in “Manga Action” between September 10, 1970, and April 1, 1976.
