Hairstyles of the Gods
I am currently watching Kamisami no Asobi, a reverse-harem anime involving classical gods, because I am a grown woman and can admit to myself that sometimes this is the kind of show I want to watch. I am not updating everyone on that, however. I am updating everyone on the gods’ hair.
Zeus: Best hair in the show. It’s stylish in a hot-dad sort of way, and it also fits his character.
Baldr: Baldr is a sweetheart and his hair is adorable, but it makes him look identical to Legolas and therefor somewhat hard to take seriously.
Hades: Hades has lovely long dark gothy waves, but I’m not sure that’s entirely appropriate. Look, Hades just doesn’t stike me as the kind of god who cares about long, lustrous locks.
Loki: An incredibly douchey anime hairstyle. Worst hair in the show. Totally character-appropriate.
Apollo: There’s nothing wrong with Apollo’s hair, there’s just nothing noteworthy about it either. It’s standard anime boy hair. Nothing more to say, really.
Thor: Thor’s hair is a ridiculous green undercut with a lightening bolt carved into the side. My headcanon is that Loki did this to him while he was asleep and he still hasn’t noticed.
Thoth: Not great, not terrible. Like Apollo’s hair, but with a dangly bit on the side.
Dionysus: Ugh. His hair is terrible. It’s some kind of weird pink poofy anime mullet, but alas, I totally believe Dionysus would wear it.
Anubis: He almost has normal hair, except for these…things on the side. It’s like he put gel in his hair without realizing he hadn’t fully styled it yet.
Tsukito: A nice anime ponytail. His hair is lavender, which I’m not entirely sure fits the mythology, but it provides a pretty color pallet.
Susanoo: Susanoo’s hair makes him look like green Naruto. This is not a good look.
