i love the contrasting colour schemes of these two, i think thats one of the reasons i love them as a couple so much doing big coloured/lined pieces is so difficult in a single day! but im loving the challenge
The Sims team only makes 1 EP a year so you would think it’s quality over quantity because they used to do atleast 2 a year, but so far we only got shit EPs. Like, yes, we get Game packs, but they get boring in like a day. Game packs are basically their way to make more money and spend less.
Chris was about 60% sure he could sneak the puppy past Jason. Maybe 70%; sometimes when they got home from work Jason would plug in his headphones and read for a good hour or two. That usually depended on a number of things (see: Matt, the weather, Matthew Patrick, if the stream was particularly stressful, MatPat, and oddly enough the art style of the game.) If Jason was fully immersed in his ‘cool down time’, then neither hell nor high water would grab his attention. Nothing outside of dinner being done (or the Patricks calling) would move him.
All the criteria had been met that day for a session of reading and listening (nice weather, slightly stressful stream that left Jason seeking an escape, whimiscal art style, Matt and Jason being in rare comedic duo form that left Stephanie and Chris in stitches). 70% was a go. And so, as Chris tucked the tiny puppy into his jacket and waltzed right through the front door.
He got maybe six steps before he heard Jason’s voice in kitchen.
“Chris, why is your hoodie wiggling?” Swallowing nervously, Chris turned to see Jason stood at the breakfast bar with a kettle in one hand and his book waiting on the counter. ‘Shit, forgot to account for tea.’ “Wha-? Wiggl-? Jason I resent-!” A hundred excuses tried to wiggle their way out of Chris’s mouth, leaving him stood there sputtering as a tiny black nose peeked out of his zipper and sniffed the air. “….Chris…. Chris, is that what I think it is?” Jason asked slowly, putting the kettle down as Cheis desperately tried to nudge the nose back into its hiding place. “I… guess that depends on what you think it is.” He finally muttered petulantly, giving up his attempts to put the cat (or rather, dog) back in the bag.‘The jig is up, Widin.’
Chris could feel the puppy squirming even more in his arms as Jason crossed the room and held out his hands. “Careful, she’s just a baby.” Chris said sourly, delicately fishing the tiny King Charles spaniel puppy out of his hoodie and placing her in Jason’s waiting arms. “I gotta ask,” Jason cradled the puppy to his chest, and Chris was a little impressed at how he still managed to look disapproving even with a squirmy puppy in his arms licking his neck. Impressed and dismayed, but still impressed. “How long did you think you could keep a dog from me?” Chris shrugged and scratched the dogs ears, feeling a little thrill of victory at how Jason smiled at the happy snuffle the puppy let out.
“Like… three hours tops. I just figured you’d be so impressed by my sneak abilities that you’d let us keep Lady because you’re also the best boyfriend ever.” Chris bounced a little on the balls of his feet, it felt like he was on pins and needles as Jason looked down and appraised the dog with a critical eye. “Lady? Really? First Mittens, now Lady?” He finally said, raising an eyebrow at the anxious man in front of him. “You’re not allowed to name anything anymore. But fine,” Jason added and held up a hand, cutting off the beginning stages of Chris’s puppy eyes. “We’ll keep her. We’ll have to go to the store tomorrow and drop by the vets. If she eats my shoes, I’m going to strangle you with a mic wire.”
Letting out a loud whoop, Chris threw his arms around Jason and kissed him sweetly on the lips as Lady barked and licked the two men. “You’re really the best boyfriend ever, and I promise I’ll take good care of Lady and take her for walks and play with her and I’ll teach her how to fetch the paper in the morning, and-” His words were cut off with another kiss, Jason pulling back to smile fondly. “You’re gonna try and teach her, and probably get distracted. I’ll train her, but you’re cleaning up after her and introducing her to Mittens.”
