You’re having a quarter life crisis, it’s a totally different thing. Midlife crisis is where you’ve realised that you’ve wasted your life and you suddenly feel the need to do loads of things. Quarter life crisis is that when you’re young, you’re presented with the opportunity to do whatever you want with your life and it’s the pressure of knowing that you either have to go out and attempt to get whatever job your grandparents want or attempt to follow your dreams and possibly crash and burn, which is it’s own barrel of fun.
If you inherently long for something, become it first. If you want gardens, become the gardener. If you want love, embody love. If you want mental stimulation, change the conversation. If you want peace, exude calmness. If you want to fill your world with artists, begin to paint. If you want to be valued, respect your own time. If you want to live ecstatically, find the ecstasy within yourself. This is how to draw it in, day by day, inch by inch.
It’s 2 in the morning and I wish someone would just tell me how to stop missing you. I wish someone could teach me to forget the soft touch of your fingers on my back and how I felt sleeping in your arms. I wish my ears had never heard your sweet words and we never had a first kiss. I wish I could forget all about you because ever since the day you left I’ve been in a whirlwind of missing you and if it doesn’t stop soon I’m not going to be able to breathe.
