Meeting Taylor :) June 13/14, 2015

On Wednesday night, I received a phone call from Sierra from Taylor Nation. She told me how Taylor really wanted to meet me and asked if I was going to the show on Saturday ((I was)) and then gave me instructions on when and where to pick up my meet and greet pass and whatnot.

Fast forward to Saturday…I left my house around 8am because I live three hours from Philly and I also wanted to stop at the mall before the hotel. I went shopping for a little then returned to the hotel to get ready for the concert!!! While getting ready to leave I got a DM from Taylor Nation saying the before show meet and greet was cancelled and instead I would meet her after the show in Loft 89! I was told I would need my ID and that they would be expecting me (the same goes for my friends buttonsoncoats and colldasyou). This is how I got into Loft 89, I was not chosen during the concert by Andrea.

The concert was absolutely amazing, I was completely blown away in every aspect of the show. From the costumes, dance routines, speeches and more, I was left in awe and I can’t wait for July 11 when I see the show again. Meeting and hanging out with so many of my friends was a plus too. ALSO RACHEL PLATTEN WAS A SPECIAL GUEST AND I WAS SO HAPPY SHE’S SO WONDERFUL AND CUTE AND SWEET!! :)

After the show Katelyn, Lucy, and I met in section 106 and freaked out together. Knowing you’ll meet Taylor with some of your best friends there is truly the greatest feeling…also so is trying to throw everyone off by saying we were leaving the venue while we were really about to head down to Loft 89. A lady came over and gave us all the rules, and then our bags were checked before we went down this (sketchy) staircase that led down to Loft 89.

Ok. The room. A lot smaller than it looks. It’s super cool and it has such a nice vibe. There’s music playing, music videos being played on a TV, and lots of food (pizza and cookies that were so good but I was so nervous and couldn’t eat) and drinks (coke and water). There was also a photo booth but the line was so long so I never got a chance  to go in.

Andrea came in and we hugged and she asked me how I was doing. SHE’S SO BEAUTIFUL AND SUCH AN ANGEL OH MY GOD. She asked if Taylor was in the room and we all said no, and Katelyn goes to me, “I bet she slipped in the shower,” which resulted in Andrea CACKLING. She went to go find Taylor and soon enough they were coming down the hall together. When they were coming down the hall I was hugging Katelyn because I was super emotional and was trying to keep from crying. Katelyn told me after the reason she kept telling me to hug her was because Taylor and Andrea saw us hugging and SWOONED and she didn’t want me to start crying (again). (Can you say best friend goals I mean honestly).

Taylor walked into the room and it was Secret Sessions 2.0 with a huge, “HEY GUYS!!!” She went in the opposite direction of me so I was the last person to meet her. Being able to see Lucy and Katelyn meet Taylor gave me so much joy like, Taylor was so excited to see them and they were so excited to see her it was just one big happy party.

As soon as Taylor saw me and started walking over she greeted me with a, “OH MY GOD! HEY BUDDY!” and a huge hug. When I hugged her I started crying because it was a moment I had pictured so many times and dreamed of for so long and it was  finally happening. She asked me if I had liked the show and how I was doing and said it took her so long to get down there because it was a hometown show so she had to say hey to friends and family who were there. I then began to thank her but I think I sounded like a walrus because I started crying and I apologized and she was like, “It’s okay, it’s fine I get it.” I managed to thank her for helping me get through everything with my mom and she looked at me, never putting her attention anywhere besides me. She told me she was proud of me and other things that I would rather keep private because they mean a lot to me. She said that when she saw my post she immediately fell in love with me and wanted to meet me and how she sent pictures of me because she knew I was coming to a show soon and I just went in for a hug and thanked her for doing all that for me and being the person she is. She asked me if I wanted to take a picture and at the same time we both said, “A HUGGING ONE!” So we hugged and she had her hands around my head and it was a good moment it felt like I was hugging her forever and I never wanted to let go because I have never felt so safe and secure in someone’s arms. (Side note: While this picture situation was happening Katelyn was screaming things at me and Taylor from across the room I wish she was real). She also signed my tour shirt and asked if I spelled my name with a C and I said a K. She wrote “I heart you Kaileen! Taylor.” She told me I was even prettier in real life and said she loved how my eyes were like an electric green and hearing that you’re beautiful from someone you look up to my heart hurts it is so amazing I can’t describe it. After that I just thanked her for being the person she is and I said how I truly couldn’t put into words what she’s done for me and how much she means to me and she hugged me and I just felt so happy and so loved you have no idea. I hugged her and said goodbye one last time and told her I would see her later online and did a weird shimmy dance to which she responded with “Yes!!!!!”

That is the story of the best day of my life. Thank you, Taylor, for taking the time to care about me and know who I am and love me. Thank you for last night, thank you for your advice and kind words, and thank you for being you. I’ll never forget you as long as I live.

Love always,

Kaileen :)

The One Where Connor is NOT Drunk and Neither is Wes

Connor Walsh does not get drunk. He always knows how to have just enough to appear like he’s having a good time (and sometimes he actually does), but he never ever gets drunk.

That said, Connor Walsh is very drunk right now.

He had decided to accompany Michaela, Asher and Laurel for a night out in Old City. Just a few drinks, but it was purely strategic and they all knew it. Sizing up the competition. Somehow Wes had ended up tagging along (Connor suspects Laurel invited him out of pity) and he suggested this great bar he knew in China town not too far away and all Connor remembers after that is being super grossed out by the fish tank full of live eels out front and the way Wes had grabbed his arm and dragged him along to follow the others to their table in the back.

“Why are you here?” Connor can hear himself slurring, but he can’t seem to stop the words from coming out anyway. Wes does that thing he does sometimes where he cocks his head to the side and blinks owlishly. Not that Connor had been paying attention or anything, just, it was annoying.

“You mean here, as in this bar here, or here in Philadelphia?”

“Law school. Why are you in Law School?”

Wes bit his lip thinking for a moment, before grinning and saying, “I want to be a lawyer.” His smile seemed innocent, but Connor wasn’t drunk enough not to be able to tell there was more to that story.. He decided not to push, sighing and running his hands through his already messy hair. His hair never got messy. He was really drunk.

“You want some water?” Wes asked him, still wearing that stupid earnest grin.

Connor coughs and sits up straighter, “No, I’m fine.” He really is, the alcohol may have slowed his brain to mouth filter a but, but his brain was still going on all cylinders, always going.

“You sure? I’m gonna get you a water.”

Connor huffs, “Fine, whatever.”

Wes gets up and makes his way over to the bar, and Connor does not take a moment to appreciate how his slim hips move gracefully through the crowd of people, or the strong lines of his back and he props himself up over the bar to flag down a bartender.

“Dude, quit staring.” Asher speaks up. Apparently he has lost his ability to be subtle.

“Huh? I’m not staring.” Connor rebukes quickly dropping his gaze. He glances over to Michaela who just has a knowing smirk, and Laurel just smiling sweetly at him. “Whatever.” he says jutting out his chin, not looking at any of them. He can feel them collectively judging him before they slip back into their former conversation.

Wes eventually strides back over to their table with a bottle of mineral water for Connor. He places it in front of him and plops down gracelessly in his seat beside him. Connor mutters a thanks before opening it and taking a few sips.

When he sets the bottle down he notices Wes staring at him, wide happy grin on his face, and maybe Wes is a little drunk too, because he says, “You’re really cute.” It’s barely above a whisper, just meant for the two of them. He continues, “Well when you’re drunk anyway, less of an asshole this way.” And it should sound mean, Connor should be offended, but he looks at the open expression on Wes’ face and can’t help returning his grin with a small one of his own.

“I’m an asshole am I?”

“Very much so.” Wes replies, still smiling as he reaches down to where Connor didn’t realize he was fisting the fabric of his pants in a white knuckle grip. Wes wiggles his slim fingers in between Connors and laces their fingers together, Smile not wavering, but a slight flush appearing on his cheeks.

Connor just raises an eyebrow at him and smirks as he squeezes Wes’ hand back and dives back in to the conversation about the latest case Professor Keating has them working on.

My Wizard World Austin Experience

As promised, I wrote down my experience meeting Seb at Wizard World Austin! I had such an incredible time, met so many amazing people, and wish I didn’t have to go back to the real world. Fair warning, this is a pretty wordy post, because I didn’t want to forget a single detail. More under the cut!
