Here is the original Broadway cast of Little Shop of Horrors performing a medley of the title song and “Suddenly, Seymour” during the NBC broadcast of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, telecast on November 27, 2003.

The cast members included in the performance are Trisha Jeffrey as Crystal, Carla J. Hargrove as Ronnette, and DeQuina Moore as Chiffon, Kerry Butler as Audrey, and Hunter Foster as Seymour.

As with all NBC transmissions of the annual parade, this performance was pre-recorded and lipsynced by the cast due to technical and logistical limitations of the broadcast.

What would you cast for a little shop of horrors AU of ace attorney?

If I had to pick Canada is Seymore, Audrey is Ukraine, Russia is Audrey II? (Or America because the fame of the plant kinda dwarfs Seymore ‘s presence like America does with Canada)  Prussia the dentist. And England is Mr. Mussinc? (his personality doesn't really fit but the fact that Canda is Seymore and Mr. Mussinc his Sycamore's father figure I’m putting him down as him) I have no idea who the three 60′s girl band would be (Maybe the Baltics due to their numbers? three for three)  I don’t know this is another crossover that have trouble translating with the Hetalia cast sorry :(

What’s your name man?!?: A collection of Broadway songs that mention a character’s name

Alexander Hamilton - Hamilton the Musical // Benny’s Dispatch - In the Heights // Ginny - A Very Potter Musical // Bonnie - Bonnie and Clyde // Shakespeare - Something Rotten // Prince Ali - Aladdin // Johanna - Sweeney Todd // Jimmy - Thoroughly Modern Millie // Aaron Burr, Sir - Hamilton the Musical // Sarah Brown Eyes - Ragtime // Maria - West Side Story // Tango Maureen - Rent // Morticia - the Addams Family // Dammit Janet - Rocky Horror Picture Show // Rosemary - How to Succeed in Business // Gaston - Beauty and the Beast // The Schuyler Sisters - Hamilton the Musical // Suddenly Seymour - Little Shop of Horrors

the only musical my school did while i was there was addams family and it was soooo good omg but like it’s bc i was stage managing while being an assistant to director choreographer band director costume designer and choir directed as well as being in band and basically holding the cast together but like it was still so good and now they’re doing little shop of horrors and the cast is shite and the band is sad and the production level is so low this time like lol without me u guys are shit xx u deserve it

Mad Myrna’s Cast of Little Shop of Horrors Fund Raiser 2016 - CJ Burgandy singing “Dream a Little Dream” in the style of Mama Cass Eliot.
One of the prettiest songs in the history of popular music.  I often use this as an audition song.  I’ve tried other tempos and keys, but I just really love this one.

anonymous asked:

My fave thing about Hamilton is how Lin wrote it and In the Heights because there weren't many great roles out there for him, a Latino man, so he wrote his own, which is exactly what The Whites are always telling us to do when we complain about a lack of diversity, and then The Whites got so pissed that they couldn't audition for Hamilton. So "write your own!" really means "write your own and have it be terrible and unpopular!"

This is actually like depressingly super common and it sucks so bad. Back in high school I got in trouble for writing a paper about how white people are not and should not be allowed in the lion king and I got in trouble for bullying because it was a vague at a girl in my choir.
The entitlement of white actors is so disgusting and foul. I defo don’t speak for every actor/actress of color but I think the worst cases of people being blatantly ignorant with no regret is always in theater. White actors think that they can play anyone, and they do not care or try to understand that for a black actress like me I am lucky if there is a single character for me in a show. And for other races it literally seems to be like they are lucky if they are in every other show (black people seem thrown in more often as like look we added SOUL WOW). Like short story, but I was the only black person in a cast of little shop of horrors and that show is so important to me and it was almost destroyed by how racist my director, the other girls in my trio and especially my understudy was. She would go off sometimes about how I only got the role because I was black. And at the time it really hurt my feelings until I really though about it, like yeah I was cast because I was talented and the casting call called for a black woman. And in most shows I don’t get cast because the casting call called for a not black woman. It took me basically the whole run of the show to come to terms with the fact I should not feel bad for being in a black role, because it was made for a black girl not an entitled white actress who could literally play ANY OTHER CHARACTER ON BROADWAY.
And they get so mad when you tell them no this is not for you. It goes back to that whole thing that says that racism is a side quest for white people that they don’t have to take if they don’t want to. And for many of them they literally cannot wrap their head around how exciting it is for us when we see a character that we get even a sliver of a chance to play because they think they get the whole world, cause so far they have. They don’t try to empathize with us at all because they know theater is hard but they don’t even try at all to understand it is so much more hard when you get 1/20th of the roles (if that).
Black people in white shows seem to be accessories and we rarely see any other races and Hamilton despite its problems is one of the few big big shows where that isn’t the case and white people are so mad they don’t get to be a part of our revolution.
