random cute class 1A thoughts about sleeping

  • Jirou would absolutely do that “put the sleeping guy’s hand in water to see if he pees himself” thing to Kaminari
  • (he doesn’t, thankfully. Jirou is a little disappointed. Kaminari never finds out who did that to him)
  • Bakugou is not a morning person at all and the poor soul that tries to wake him up one day gets punched in the face. Bakugou is still asleep. he often kicks his blanket off in his sleep. is a very heavy sleeper
  • Iida sleeps in one position and one position only. the other kids try to move him into a different one one day and he will always go back into the position he was originally in. this fascinates the class.
  • Jirou sometimes plugs her earphones into her pillow when she feels scared at night, and listening to her heartbeat helps calms her down
  • Izuku mutters in his sleep. it’s just as disturbing as when he’s awake
  • Ochako chews on EVERYTHING b/c she’s used to starving herself to keep from eating and wasting money. some classmates have woken up to her chewing on their shirts/hair before.
  • Tokoyami sleeps with his covers over his head
  • Kouda sleeps with a nightlight. it’s bunny-shaped. he also sleeps with a stuffed animal.
  • Aoyama absolutely HAS to sleep with the covers on. even when it’s like 100 degrees he just can’t sleep without them on
  • Todoroki can’t sleep unless he’s on a tatami mat. but he is able to fall asleep when he’s near someone he’s comfortable with. this ends up causing some awkward situations with Izuku and Momo
  • Momo needs to sleep on super plush beds. she can sleep on lower-quality stuff, but she often tosses and turns and usually doesn’t sleep as well. she needs her cushy bed
  • Mina moves around a lot in her sleep and will accidentally punch or kick anyone close by. often kicks off her blankets
  • Sero prefers sleeping with thin blankets or without any. he doesn’t like feeling hot. has no fear and often sleeps with his feet hanging off the edge of the bed
  • Kaminari drools in his sleep. often. also snores. a hurricane could come and he still wouldn’t wake up.
  • Tooru is a cuddler and will cuddle against anyone who’s close by, regardless of who it is.
  • Tsuyu sleeps with 3 blankets on and curled up in a little happy froggy ball
  • Shouji sleeps with his limbs all splayed out and with a single blanket. prefers having a really big fluffy pillow
  • Kirishima both drools AND sometimes sleep punches people. will sometimes activate his quirk in his sleep and ruin his shirt
  • Satou is also a cuddler and always ends up hugging his pillow in his sleep
  • Ojiou sleeps with his tail wrapped around him like a cat and will curl up in a little ball. prefers sleeping with thin blankets. is a pretty light sleepr
[NCT] Jealousy

From prompt-bank’s drabble challenge
Prompt 142: “Hold my hand so he gets jealous”

“You’re blowing smoke.” Johnny idly comments, lacing his words with a chuckle. You scowl, tossing a half eaten french fry back onto your lunch tray. From across the cafeteria, you can see Jaehyun, sitting with some girl with long hair and round cheeks. He’s smiling at her, and it’s clear that she’s got his undivided attention. Bitterness seeps into your core.
“Look at her.” You nod towards the pair, laughing now and you can feel bile rise in your throat. “She’s not even that cute.”
Johnny laughs, mischief lining his beautiful warm brown eyes.
“Hey, come on. Let’s go say hi.” He says, and before you can protest or even question he’s ushering you out of your seat. You dump your half eaten lunch into a large black garbage bin along the way. Before Jaehyun can take notice of you, Johnny slips his hand into yours.
“What the hell are you doing?” You all but yell, eyes the size of saucers.
“Hold my hand so he gets jealous. Just go with it, okay, I know what I’m doing.” He says, holding a hand up in dismissal, clicking his tongue.
“I don’t think you do.” You say, and before you can bite something else out, Johnny’s chipper voice rings loudly in your ears.
“Hey, Jaehyun!” Exclaims your friend, drawing the blond’s attention. His ears perk up at the sight of you, though his gaze immediately locks onto your and Johnny’s joined hands. Jaehyun’s eyes narrow a fraction.
“What’s up?” He asks, plastering a horribly fake smile onto his face. Jealousy bubbles in the pit of his stomach. The girl sitting opposite of Jaehyun shoots you a soft smile when she meets your stare, which you sarcastically brush aside.
“Can Y/N and I borrow your film studies notes? She was out sick during that class and you know I didn’t do them, so neither of us have them.” Johnny breathes with ease, thumb beginning to absentmindedly rub circles into the back of your hand.
“Oh, yeah, I’ll get them to you after lunch.”
“Great! Thanks, man.” Johnny says, and with that, the conversation ends and he’s leading you out of the cafeteria, making a point to swing your hands between your bodies.

Jaehyun catches you at the end of the school day, as you’re leaving your books in your locker. He swings an arm around your shoulders, a gesture that’s normal between the two of you, one that never ceases to make your heart flutter. It’s as you two are traversing the school’s parking lot, narrowly avoiding students eager to get home, that he says, “Hey, not that it’s my place to say, but I really don’t think you and Johnny make a good couple. So don’t let me catch you holding his hand again, okay?”
“Got it.” You nod, more than happy to comply with his request. At this, Jaehyun presses a kiss to your temple.
Later that evening, you excitedly type out a text to Johnny.
“Idk how u did it but jaehyun asked me out on my way home”
Johnny’s response comes not even a minute later.
“Told you, dude, I’m a gifted matchmaker lol”
You’re grinning from ear to ear, kicking your feet up in the air as you toss and turn giddily on your bed.
“If i’d have known ur stupid plan was going to work i’d have asked you to hold my hand so much sooner”
It’s not until later, as you’re pulling yourself into bed that your phone pings with an incoming message.
“I’d have been happy to oblige. I like holding your hand.”

we went outside today to get y shaped sticks so we could weave in between them for crafts class. my teacher said any size is fine. so me, professional dumbshit, drags a 12 foot long branch from the creek. it was really thick and heavy. she said it was okay.

the tech teacher was really confused when i lugged in the huge ass thing into his classroom asking him to cut it for me. all the teachers who saw were laughing their asses off. me and this big ass tree while the other students had small branches.

Review: Dare (Foolish Kingdoms #2) by Natalia

- I read an early ARC copy in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are my own, and some details may have changed -

[Goodreads Link for synopsis]

“In the daylight, you’re bold. By the firelight, you’re brilliant. Under the night light, you’re enduring. Always, you’re lasting.”

Dare is the second book in the Foolish Kingdoms world, but can be read as a stand-alone (although it’s highly recommened to read the first book, Trick, before diving into this one).

Dare is the tale of a fiercely passionate girl of Summer and a cold but brilliant prince of Winter. lt’s the tale of two people who absolutely detest each other, but wind up stranded on an uncharted island together. Dare is the story of two people who absolutely cannot be together, but find they desparately want to be. If they can survive the island. If they can find each other after.

With bold characters, a little froggy side-kick, and a wildly vivid landscape, this novel is all of the best qualities Jaster has become known for.

Reading a new Natalia Jaster book (or any Natalia Jaster book) is like returning to my happy place. Her writing is just so lyrical and vivid; exceptionally gorgeous. Dare lives up to these standards and does not disappoint. She takes the enemies to lovers trope and executes it impeccably.

Through the characters, Flare and Jeryn, we experience a wonderful arc of character development.
We see Jeryn go from a cold, cruel prince, to a more caring and open-minded man. A person who wants to use his passion for science and his power to help the world change for the better.
We see Flare grow from a person who unwittingly follows her base instincts to a woman who learns to consider her actions and recognise her faults. Who uses her art to change the hearts and minds of people.

We also see the return of characters from Trick which absolutely warmed my heart.

I honestly love this book, and this world, so much. I don’t even know what to say without being a flail-y mess. It’s almost painful leaving her worlds and words behind, moving on to another book.

“Then I am yours. Everywhere you are, I shall be yours.”

This one in chapter 11: "Well, maybe not" Froggy said. "Maybe you were meant to go through all that pain and heartbreak so you could save others from their own. Maybe the Evil Queen is just a chapter in your life and not the whole story. Maybe the world has dreamed bigger plans for you than you've dreamed for yourself".

I loved this story arc.  And while the message relates to the Evil Queen.  Again. Every word spoken could be about Darren.  I’ll put it under read more.  But at this point, if you haven’t read, you are doing yourself a disservice.  Use the tools provided.

Special report by the Glenwood News Network

Inspired by some replies from the-night-painter here.

‘Somewhere in Boston’.

Wednesday tries to recruit Captain Flint for his war, and runs afoul of Thomas Hamilton in the attempt. Meanwhile, Shadow just wants a new goddamn book to read, is that so much to ask?

(Note: Vague reference to Wednesday’s true identity spoilers, plus some brief not so cheery talk about sacrifices.)

Wednesday had certainly taken Shadow to a lot of unique places in the last month or two. There had been many diners, a photocopy shop, a laundromat, some shady hotel rooms. They’d visited a movie theater with the unnaturally sticky floor, and a pizza parlor were Shadow wasn’t entirely convinced that cheese was actually the used topping. A homely bookshop in Boston was something new, all things considered, especially taking into account the extremely long detour it took to get there. They’d even stopped at a supermarket earlier to pick up a few things. Shadow inevitably found himself clutching the shopping list, whilst Wednesday charmed a woman unpacking oranges in the fruit and vegetables section.

Shadow followed Wednesday through the aisles of the bookshop, inhaling that new book smell and feeling quite contended. Bookshops held a comforting familiarity, as he had fond memories from when his mother would take him as a child. She would hold his small hand gently held in hers. She’d let him pick a book, and then they’d read it together. Books had always been an old friend growing up, and the lack of variety was something he’d endlessly missed in prison. He’d read a fuckton of history books - and that was great, he loved history books - but some more variety wouldn’t go astray.

Wednesday, after pausing briefly in front of the History section, finally halted in front of the Classics. He hummed and hawed to himself for a moment, before finding his prize.

“Did you ever read Treasure Island, Shadow?” Wednesday said, with a grin, tapping the red cover.

Shadow nodded. “Yeah, sure. Preferred Muppet Treasure Island, though. Miss Piggy was kinda hot.”

Laura had found Kermit quite attractive in his weird little froggy captain’s coat, so that had been a more than unusual bonding point when they first had started dating.

Wednesday froze for a moment, heavy brows raised, before assessing Shadow thoughtfully. “…hmm. And thus I continue to plumb the depths of the enigma that is Shadow Moon…”
