literal and figuratively

{{ hey… ive been thinkin abt this lately because i feel REALLY AWFUL ABOUT GETTING STUCK IN EVERY THREAD I TOUCH but like. if we’re writing, and i drop off the map, i think the biggest issue is that…
i dont know what im writing for.

its not such a big deal with people i talk to more frequently; we just end up talking about what happened in a more lax manner and everythings pretty chill from there…
but i suppose when i don’t have a set goal in mind, i tend to shy away or shut down! AND ITS REALLY DUMB OF ME TO HAVE LITERALLY TAKEN YEARS TO FIGURE IT OUT BUT SHUCKS. IM JUST SO SHY THAT ITS RARE I GET TO THREAD WITH SOMEONE AND IM JUST HAPPY ANYONE WANTS TO WRITE WITH ME AT ALL… 💦

but im getting the hint that, like… plotting helps.
and maybe not even plotting! communication in general. if you want something specific out of an rp, its 100% okay to tell me! and maybe i’ll get braver and more thoughtful about what i want out of a thread, too. }}

So.

Literal?

Figurative?

6x01 opens with Oliver literally setting a table, the camera panning around the room revealing who survived the destruction of Lian Yu?

6x01 opens with a flashback. Slade, Felicity, Diggle, Thea, etc., etc., etc., are sitting around a makeshift table eating ARGUS rations waiting to be rescued. Oliver finds them… “Did my dinner invitation get lost in the mail?”

6x01 opens with a flashback. Slade, Felicity, Diggle, Thea, etc., etc., etc., are sitting around a makeshift table eating ARGUS rations waiting to be rescued. Lyla finds them. “What did I say about guns on the dinner table?”

6x01 opens with William setting a table, location undetermined. He nervously keeps glancing towards what we can assume is the kitchen when the front door opens, revealing Oliver. William stops in the middle of placing silverware next to the plates, sighing with relief. “Felicity’s cooking, isn’t she?”

Oliver nervously carries dessert/dinner/whatever food item from a kitchen into a dining room in an echo of 4x01 to reveal….William? Felicity? The Lian Yu survivors?

6x01 opens with Oliver building a table.

6x01 opens with Oliver in Bed, Bath & Beyond buying placemats. Or silverware.

6x01 includes a scene where Mayor Queen must choose the table settings for a dinner party/fundraiser.

6x01 involves an Olicity love scene in the bunker, on the conference table.

6x01 has a flash forward to an ambiguous scene about table settings that totally hints at an Olicity wedding.

“Mayor Queen, don’t forget that you have a 1 o’clock meeting to choose the china for tomorrow’s Mayor’s Council meeting.” “Now I know how my mother felt…”

6x01 sets the stage for the rest of the season? (No actual table setting involved.)

So…what’s your guess?

Like a literal dog or a figurative dog?

Welcome to the world of Scandinavian history is it fact or is it fiction? I prefer to believe they did totally put a dog on the throne multiple times for no reason

So no one thinks twincer is happening because Ashley reposted something and that is beyond annoying but it's crazy because the signs are all there for Spencer to have a twin! The excessive change in outfits, the missing watch, the airport scene with wren was extremely sketchy! This sucks!

I don’t pay any mind to what the cast do. They tease fans like it’s their job and they drop stupidly obvious hints all the time too. You literally cannot accurately figure out why they do these things, so just read it and leave it!

i have a few thins to add! master tells bill the time moves faster at the top of the ship versus the bottom, thus making it look like they are INCREDIBLY slow. "he's raising his eyebrow, that's is his sarcasm face" sounds like moffat making fun of himself and how we perceive them. we know they both have complained that dw and sherlock take years and months of planning and actual work to do, and then we gobble it up instantly and ten minutes after the show has aired, we've figured literally every

code out. i think they are making fun of us by making bill watch them move so slowly it seems like they are standing still, because that’s how we see them, as not doing anything because they’re not quick enough but actually they are working their asses off every minute but things just take time in tv. also the actress that’s the plus-sized lady is the same who got a lot of sympathy phone calls in the great game! that’s all i can think :)

oh and the chip eating of doctor and bill!! are chips now some kinda code for platonic heart-to-heart or :D

In reference to: World Enough And Time (Doctor Who) & Sherlock parallels

Oh, I love this, especially the whole making fun of himself thing haha! I know, I love how it so closely resembles actually watching tv in that Bill is… actually watching tv, lmao- the time for subtlety has passed ;) <3

Yeah I loved the bench chip eating scene! Obviously The Doctor and Bill’s relationship has a very different dynamic to Sherlock and Faith’s (as a John mirror), so I think you’re right in that the usual chips= romantic love etc code has changed. Part of the time, I think it’s Steven almost recreating a Sherlock scene visually- we have the bench and chips just as in The Lying Detective, so people like us who have watched both shows will be reminded of Sherlock. And that makes us spot the differences as well as the similarities between each scene- and that can in turn make us figure out Sherlock scenes more as we’re watching Doctor Who!
