Why I like Blair Witch as a film: The lead guy essentially went into it knowing: “Yeah, this is probably a bad fucking idea.”
But he did it anyway. Not because he was dumb. He wasn’t the silly college kid who wanders into a cabin in the woods in all the horror movies.
He simply couldn’t cope anymore with spending his life not knowing. It’s unbearable. He’s gotten so crazy about what happened to his sister that any answer, even one that ends horrifically, is still better than nothing for him.
It’s a rather intriguing film about obsession and curiosity.
