There was a really well developed, unique, autistic kid on the show I’m watching and it makes me so !!! happy

  • Travis: I tried to connect with her on a reading level when we were courting. When we were dating.
  • Laura: Don't. Don't talk about this.
  • Travis: No, I have to.
  • Travis: So I started trying to read some of the books she was reading, so that we would be on the same level. I knew I couldn't take on Tolkien. But she was reading -
  • Laura: No.
  • Travis: The Twilight books at the time. Right, before the movies ever came out. And ladies and gentlemen, I read EVERY FUCKING TWILIGHT BOOK.
  • Laura: He liked 'em. It had werewolves in it.
  • Travis: And I have to say, until the last book - because there were werewolves - I kinda liked it.
  • Travis: Except for the sparkling and all that weird shit.
  • Laura: He, no. If you're doing this to me, then I'm doing this to you. Like, was it the third movie in that series that came out? I refused to go see them, they were so bad.
  • Laura: He went by h i m s e l f.
  • Travis: LISTEN. I . . . had to redeem those movie points.

Yesterday I found myself wondering who I’d add to the MCU if I was to make and all-female Avengers team. Then the answer came naturally. No one. The MCU has all it need already.

Pepper Potts as the Superior Rescue
Betty Ross as the Sensational Red She-Hulk
Jane Foster as Thor, Godess of Thunder
Sharon Carter as Agent 13, the Most Wanted Spy in the World
Natasha Romanoff as Black Widow, the Russian Avenger
Wanda Maximoff as the Scarlet Witch, Mistress of the Mystic Arts
Helen Cho as Mastermind Excello, Seventh Biggest Genius in the World
Hope Van Dyne as the Wondrous Wasp
Maria Hill as Director Hill, head of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The nameless Dora Milaje as Okoye

11 Books By Latinas Every Feminist Should Add To Their Collection

For decades, Latina authors have written empowering stories of women navigating family, culture and societal norms to find their true selves.

Books by Gabby Rivera and Alida Nugent have most recently helped paint a portrait of what it means to be a Latina feminist today. But even before these women put pen to paper, authors like Sandra Cisneros and Laura Esquivel were already paving the way with narratives centered on strong Latina women.

In the spirit of intersectional feminism, we compiled a list of 11 books by Latina authors that every feminist should read.

Deleted scene from Logan
  • Nurse: So, this subject was created from Wolverine's DNA.
  • Gabriela: Wolverine? THE Wolverine?
  • Nurse: Yes, the one from the X-Men.
  • Gabriela: I don't believe it, this little one? She's nothing like her father-
  • Laura: Bah...bah...bah...
  • Nurse: Wait, Gabriela, I think she's about to say her first word!
  • Gabriela: Oh my god! Say...button! Say...buddy!
  • Laura: Bah...bah...bah...BUB.
  • Gabriela: ...yup, that's definitely Wolverine's daughter.

it’s funny, so i just saw logan last night (which is both Very Funny and Very Not, but that’s a different story)

so you meet dear little laura, and you’re hanging out with her on this father-daughter bonding transamerican roadtrip, right? and she’s making shrieking noises and beheading people and stealing shit from convenience stores, and you’re like okay– secret weapons project, bioengineering, brainwashing, this makes sense. i see how you got here, you precious and wonderful child of death who i wish such good things for. it all makes sense.

but then you meet her cohort of other secret weapons children– and wait. these children are not like laura. these kids got some trauma and some superpowers, but are otherwise a lot more like “hi i’m johnny.” laura is a special murder snowflake.

in the ~final confrontation~ all laura’s buddies are, when cornered, taking down individual soldiers with faces that say “i am a scared but competent preteen and/or teen.” all of them team up to slowly and almost meditatively kill That One Douchebag, and it’s all very Big Deal, this is a Moment

and then you have laura, backflipping off her dad’s back while issuing an enraged nonverbal shriek of full-bodied fury and sticking her landing with her claws knuckle-deep in a baddie’s chest

what was she like in the lab? i mean, this kid clearly has a Protective Streak and also, you may have noticed, giant claws that spring from her tiny clenched fists, like, i bet this was a thing

i can just imagine the kids being like “laura’s late to the rendezvous, should we be worried?”

“she probably just got distracted by MURDER again, you know how it is, remember easter 2023?”

“oh damn it i miss that girl.”

“my favorite sister.”

“i thought i was your favorite sister.”

“only when i need my drink iced– ow– hey!– i’ll tell laura!”

“go ahead! she’ll side with me!”

tl;dr all tiny bilingual mutant found-families need a shrieking murder child

-charles telling logan that this is what its like to be normal before he left with that mans to fix the water or whatever
-and its sad to see charles so weak and sick and trapped in his mind and broken as well after what he did in westchester
-losing control is so awful and seeing someone who was once so great be at this point hurts
-THIS FILM WAS AFTER ME YALL I WAS SO ATTACKED
-when charles woke up in that familys house and was talking about how he remembered things and that it was the best night of his life but he didnt deserve it I WAS CRYING

Your name: submit What is this?

You were stumbling a bit as you stood in the middle of the gym and in front of one of the jocks of Liberty High, your date for the Winter Formal, Montgomery. His hand was laying way too close to your butt for your liking as the two of you swayed to the upbeat music playing, but the alcohol in your veins told you that it wasn’t anything to worry about.

patroclusau  asked:

“There is nothing wrong with planning a wedding with a video game character.” STEREK

“Uncle Derek!” the high pitched voice of his nephew Cory said as Derek walked into Laura’s house, Stiles trailing behind him with a plate of cookies, “UNCLE STILES!”

Derek shook his head with a fond smile on his face, he loved how easily his family had accepted Stiles into the fold.

Stiles handed Derek the cookies and allowed himself to be lead into the living room, Cory chatting away about the old video game consul that Aunt Cora had given him.

“Hey,” Derek said as he stepped into the kitchen where Laura was chopping tomatoes for the salad.

“Thank god you’re here, Cory has been talking about showing Stiles the Nintendo all day,” Laura said with a sigh, “I swear he’s been planning his wedding to Zelda.”

“There is nothing wrong with planning a wedding with a video game character,” Stiles said from the doorway, “I did the same thing when I was his age.”

Laura rolled her eyes, “There’s still a chance for you to get out of marrying him.”

“Be nice I’m your future brother-in-law AND the only one who will willingly talk to your son about his video games,” Stiles said, taking a tomato slice and popping it into his mouth with a smirk.

“Fine, marry him, but only because Cory likes him,” Laura said with a huff, but Derek could see her fighting back a smile. Laura loved Stiles. He was the only person Derek has ever dated that could keep up with her.

“And because I do that thing you like with the -,” Stiles started to say but Laura threw a tomato at him which he caught in his mouth.

“Stiles,” Derek said with a laugh, wrapping an arm around Stiles middle and pulling him to his chest, “Behave.”

“Or what?” Stiles asked, turning his head to look at Derek, “Will you punish me.”

“Oh my god get out of my house,” Laura said, pretending to throw up.

“Don’t leave yet!” Cory said, running into the kitchen, “I have to show you my favorite game.”

“What is it?” Stiles asked with a laugh, looking down at Cory.

“Zelda,” He said with a shy smile.

“Dude that game was my favorite when I was a kid,” Stiles said, slapping Derek on the ass as he followed Cory out of the kitchen and back to the living room.

“You found a good one,” Laura told Derek with a soft smile.

“Yeah, I really did.”
