like wtf is this book

  • Slytherin: There's this really great show I think you should check out!
  • Ravenclaw: Okay, I will.
  • Slytherin: *three years later* Oh, did you like that show by the way?
  • Ravenclaw: Oh, I haven't started it yet.
  • Slytherin: Are you fucking kidding me?

Okay but seriously real talk. Literally there were just so many beautiful quotes is Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.

- “The problem with my life was that it was someone else’s idea.”

- “Birds exist to teach us about the sky.

- “There are worse things in the world than a boy who likes to kiss other boys.”

- “How could I ever be ashamed of loving Dante Quintana?”

- “I got to thinking that poems were like people. Some people you got right off the bat. Some people you just didn’t get - and never would.”

- “I bet you could sometimes find all the mysteries of the universe in someone’s hand.”

LIKE WTF THIS BOOK IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND DEEP AND JUST SO WONDERFUL

“Cassian grunted in pain, but lifted his bloodied hands—to cup her face. “I have no regrets in my life, but this.” His voice shook with every word. “That we did not have time. That I did not have time with you, Nesta.”

Mental to think I’m now older than most of the characters in a YA book like wtf when did that happen

  • what she says: i'm fine
  • what she means: why is felix listed in the enemies of the inquisition section of the world of thedas: volume 2??? felix puts the inquisitor in touch with dorian, tells the inquisitor about the venatori and what they're planning, openly turns against his father and tries to get him to give up his plans and go home, accepts his own death and refuses to focus on it choosing instead to comfort his father, races back to tevinter to talk up and promote the inquisition and is overall a really awesome, compassionate, thoughtful character who wants to change things for the better as much as dorian? enemy of the inquisition? really bioware w t f?
Fanfic analogy

Fanfiction is like Mexican food. You can have any amount of cheese on it, but you can’t have just a big pile of cheese on your plate. You also want a little bit of salsa to spicen it up, but not too much or you’ll burn off your tongue. You also want beans or meat for the substance, and you can put these ingredients in any format you want. This could go for any love story in general, really.

I’ve been feeling really frustrated with the lack of pansexual categories in queer book lists, so I’m going to make my own list of books with pansexual characters to share with y'all, because I know I’m not the only frustrated one. I have a few so far, but if y'all know any, please let me know! any genre is fine!

I’m looking for books with

  • characters who are canonically pansexual, either stated in the book or by the author elsewhere. an example of this is basically when the word pansexual is actually used.
  • characters who are strongly hinted at being or implied to be pansexual. an example of this is when a character says that they just like people or gender doesn’t matter (in regard to their attraction), something along those lines.

I know there are books with pansexual characters, they’re out there, they exist. we just have to do a bit of digging to find them. and apparently no one else is willing to help out pansexual people looking for book rep, so I’m taking it upon myself to do the job (with, hopefully, a little bit of help from y'all).

okay, I’m gonna end this here before I start ranting about how shitty it is for someone to compile a list of “queer books” that only has lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender books, because there are so many other identities that are included in “queer”, and they were just not even mentioned a single time in the entire post, so, why specifically entitle a post as “queer”, when "lgbt" more accurately describes the post?

i never read these days and it frustrates me cause when i was younger i was always the kid that was into reading and i started reading way before anyone else in my class and it was always my thing but these days its so so hard for me to find interest in any kinds of books nevermind actually sit down and read them

I AM CRYING

I CAN’T BELIEVE TAHEREH MAFI IS WRITING THREE (?!) NEW BOOKS FOR THE SHATTER ME SERIES AND THEY WILL BE WRITTEN IN BOTH WARNERS AND JULIETTES POV!!! JUST IMAGINE HOW MANY NEW JULIETTE BEING BADASS SCENES WE WILL READ!! AND HOW MANY HOT MAKE OUT SCENES THERE WILL BE BETWEEM WARNER AND HER AND HOW HOT HE IS AND HOW SOMEONE SMACK ADAM IN THE FACE (He deserves it tbh) I’M NOT READY BYE

Spock felt himself clinging to Kirk’s hand—he was both shocked and pleased to feel such profound pain over the timeless, meaningless existences he had seen among the machines on that planet. They should not have been built so well and left there to exist without the capacity to know hunger or fear or loneliness or anger or any of those marvelous things that would have driven them to adjust their programming to fit their own needs. How important it was to a living thing to have needs!

Me:

you know what’s kinda freaky? i’ll be reading stuff written by fans of the outsiders and i’ll see fanart and i’ll see the movie and up until i reread the book, i forgot that dally is only 17. he died before he even turned 18. the fandom tends to portray him as this dashing young man with not a care in the world and a malicious streak, but really, he’s a kid hardened by circumstance; he pulled himself into a hard shell to protect himself from everything, at a young age. he might pretend to be cold and unfeeling, but he’s just trying to keep himself safe. and it makes me so sad that people forget that. ponyboy realizing that is some serious character developement for both of them.
