The Things We Fear

This was a lot gayer than I thought it would be. I owe the outline of the first part to @thesickficsideblog, but I kinda ran away with it at the end. I swear, it wasn’t supposed to be Klance, but my hand slipped. I’ll put it on ao3 later.

Summar: Lance gets trapped in a room full of fear gas, and the team can’t do anything but watch.

Lin-Manuel Miranda on His Lifelong Oscars Obsession and Why the Show Still Matters (Guest Column)

The Hollywood Reporter
February 20, 2017

During college, Lin-Manuel Miranda and a friend used to improvise interpretative dance tributes to best picture nominees at their annual Oscar party. “It was a lot of breathing and rolling around,” recalls the creator of the Broadway smash Hamilton. “We had a great Seabiscuit dance one year.”

For the New York-born son of Puerto Rican parents — his father a political consultant, his mother a psychologist — it was just another phase of a lifelong fascination with the Oscars that began when he was growing up in the Inwood section of Manhattan, playing and replaying the telecasts that his family recorded on their VCR. At 37, Miranda is about to cross the threshold from superfan to participant: “How Far I’ll Go,” which he wrote for the Disney film Moana, is nominated for original song, and on Feb. 26, Miranda (with his mother) will attend his first Academy Awards.

It’s an auspicious step in a career that will see him star with Emily Blunt and Colin Firth in Disney’s 2018 Mary Poppins Returns and collaborate with composer Alan Menken on the studio’s live-action The Little Mermaid, one of Miranda’s favorite films and, he reveals here, the gateway to his Oscars obsession.

My brain is a compendium of Oscar moments: Tom Hanks’ beautiful acceptance speech when he won best actor for Philadelphia in 1994. Roberto Benigni climbing over chairs and wanting to make love to everybody in the world when Life Is Beautiful won best foreign-language film in 1999. Kim Basinger presenting in 1990 and telling the audience that one of the best films of the year, Do the Right Thing, was not nominated. For her to take a stand, 25 years before #OscarsSoWhite, was incredible — and impressive because time has shown the prescience of that film.

I expect we’ll see more of that this year. It’s a political time, so I imagine the Oscars will look exactly like your Twitter or Facebook feed. Why should we ignore for three hours what we’re talking about 24 hours a day?

The Oscars were always a family affair when I was a kid. One sort of unintentional tradition we had every year was during the “In Memoriam” part of the show. My family called it the “She died?” section because my dad, who is pop culture-oblivious, would always go, “She died? He died? She died?!” the whole time. So, it was very sad and yet also very funny watching my dad catch up.

When I was a kid, the Oscars felt like this impossibly larger-than-life thing. The first time I felt like I had a horse in the race was in 1990. I was 10, and The Little Mermaid was up for best song and best score. They did that crazy “Under the Sea” number with the late, great Geoffrey Holder and dudes in scuba outfits tap-dancing with flippers. We had a tradition of recording the show on our VHS, and I must have watched it a million and a half times.

There was also an amazing Chuck Workman montage at the beginning of the show that depicted 100 years of filmmaking with classic scores. I was already in love with movies, but this was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen in my life.

That was the period when Billy Crystal was hosting, and I would memorize his musical spoofs of the year’s top films. He did them with Marc Shaiman, whom I’m working with right now on Mary Poppins Returns… I was a huge fan of those moments and musical numbers — they showed a genuine love of movies while still poking fun at them. I may also be the only person in America who laughed his ass off to “Uma, Oprah. Oprah, Uma.” David Letterman’s commitment to that bit was enough to put it over the top for me. He didn’t care if no one got it. In his head, it was funny.

Hosting the Oscars is not a thing I would ever want to do… You always have to do this dance as a host: You’re playing to a billion people at home, and you’re playing to anxious contestants in a room, and that’s an insanely hard thing to divide. It’s the most thankless task in the world. I have a pretty healthy ego, but it does not extend in that direction. I’d much rather be the guy writing the opening tune than having to deliver it.

Another Oscar moment that really stuck with me was when Whoopi won her best supporting actress for Ghost. I’ll never forget, at the top of her acceptance speech she said, “Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted this,” which is so rare. Then she said, “As a little kid, I lived in the projects, and you’re the people I watched. You’re the people who made me want to be an actor.” For me, it was like she was saying, “If you want this, you can get it, too. I’m proof that you can.”

I had been seeing myself in this world since I was old enough to do anything, and it was as if she reached through the screen to talk to me. I was that kid. Even my mother used to say, “Remember what Whoopi said.”

That speech was the inspiration for the opening song I co-wrote for Neil Patrick Harris, “Bigger,” for the 2013 Tony Awards:

There’s a kid in the middle of nowhere sitting there, living for Tony performances singin’ and flippin’ along with the Pippins and Wickeds and Kinkys, Matildas and Mormonses / So we might reassure that kid and do something to spur that kid  / ‘Cause I promise you all of us up here tonight, We were that kid and now we’re bigger

Another of my favorite moments was in 2005, when they had Antonio Banderas sing “Al Otro Lado Del Rio” from The Motorcycle Diaries, which was nominated for best song. And then when Jorge Drexler, who composed it, won, he went onstage and sang it, like, “This is how it really goes.” It was so funny and ballsy and great. I’m happy whenever Latinos win anything, so I was thrilled by both performances.

I can’t tell you what it feels like in that room because this will be my first time at the Oscars, but I can tell you why the Oscars matter. It’s a night when the arts and artists are formally honored, and this recognition is seen by millions of people across the country and around the world. The show inspires people to keep pursuing their craft, or to seek out the nominated films or the overall body of work of the nominees, and through that exposure, people gain a greater appreciation of what the art of filmmaking brings to our culture.

With a red solo cup in hand, he took a seat on Lydia’s couch. It had become his signature spot every time she threw a party. He’d usually sit there and watch the people around him until he’d have too much to drink or he couldn’t stand to hear one more techno pop remix. Taking a sip of a mystery liquid that burned his throat, he shot Malia a small smile as he caught her eye on the dance floor. She returned the gesture and kept dancing with the other girl around her.

“Why do you always sit on this stupid couch when I go out of my way to throw a killer party?” Lydia pouted, taking a seat next to Stiles. A smile spread across his lips as he rested his arm across the back of the couch.

I woke up Sunday morning and rolled over to look at Stacy, like I have been doing every morning for so many years and plan to keep doing every morning for the rest of my life. She was reading the news. She’s always reading the news when I wake up. I could tell by the huge red font on her laptop screen that something bad had happened, and when she noticed I was awake, she tilted her computer away from me.

“What happened?” I asked.

She kissed my forehead and said, “Your fever is back.”

“But what happened?” I asked again.

She didn’t answer right away. She rested her cool hand on my hot cheek. And then she told me 20 people had been killed in a shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando. That’s all she knew, that’s all anyone knew. 20 dead gay and trans people who’d been out dancing, celebrating Pride.

Stacy was right that my fever was back. I’d been fighting a cold for a week and I’d clearly lost the battle. She kissed me again and got up and got dressed and went out for supplies. She knew what I needed without me having to ask. She’s nursed my terrible immune system through plenty of colds and flus and fevers. Lemon-lime Gatorade only. When I woke up again, 50 gay and trans people had been pronounced dead.

Stacy and I spent the majority of our first date at a gay bar in New York City, out until 4:00 a.m. talking about our hopes and dreams and fears and favorite TV. And sports. The Miami Dolphins. Skins, mostly. Naomi and Emily. This new thing called Pretty Little Liars. We’d been shooed away from a press event by the NYPD and we found ourselves in the back of a cab together, hardly knowing each other, feeling like maybe we should find out more, like maybe this was our one chance. So we went a gay bar to sit in a corner and talk quietly, while people decked out in rainbows and glitter danced around us, all night long. Neither of us are loud places people; neither of us like crowds. Something drew us to that bar that night, though. Something about the safety of being with our brothers and sisters, our people, while this fragile, hopeful, unspoken thing buzzed between us.

The Orlando narrative was always going to take the form of Islamophobia, as soon as it was clear Omar Mateen wasn’t white. It was always going to take the form of hundreds of politicians erasing “LGBT” from the conversation to exploit our pain. Donald Trump was always going to find a way to congratulate himself for it, to double down on his racism and xenophobia, to appeal to fear to fear to fear, always to fear. (The irony of convincing straight white people they’re the ones at risk when nearly all the victims of the hate crime were gay and trans Black and Latino people.) It was always going to be a chance for the NRA to claim they’re the ones under attack.

But we know the truth: The shooting at Pulse happened because religious conservatives all over the world, and especially here in the United States – where this murderer was born and raised – have been scapegoating gay and trans people for decades, twisting the words of their religious texts to claim authority from gods for persecution and oppression. They have denied us our rights to marriage, to fair employment and housing. They have called us pedophiles and deviants, have taken away our children and separated us from our families. They have called for our execution, and recently. You remember Ted Cruz’s pastor who said LGBT people are “pawns of Satan” and lobbied for our death. That was November, six months ago. They have fought to keep our stories off of TV and out of movies, to have our books banned from libraries, and to boycott the businesses that would dare to treat us with respect.

The shooting at Pulse happened because millions of people have been taught to fear this one thing:

A woman in New York City saw her partner wake up on Sunday morning with a fever, and her instinct in that moment was to shield her partner from horrific news. For three minutes, maybe. Or even just thirty seconds. Not to reach for her partner for comfort. Not to pierce the quiet morning with a howl of rage. A woman in New York City saw her partner wake up on Sunday morning and her impulse was love. Love for another woman. Love.

Stacy brought me my favorite popsicles in order of the way I like to eat them: cherry, then grape, then orange. “Try to at least eat three crackers,” she said.

And that’s why 50 people died.

tbh, one of the first things in $U that genuinely disappointed me was Pearl and Rose’s fusion in We Need to Talk; when they were fusion-dancing i was actually super excited to see what their fusion would be like??

i was like, “HOLY SHIT a Rose/Pearl fusion??? she’s gonna be fat and elegant af!! :D” but then my expectations were like “:)))))” and what ended up on the screen was a skinny-ass fusion w/ a super lazy design instead (AKA “Rainbow Quartz;” and tbh she should’ve been an Opal instead bc Rose and Amethyst are both quartzes, but apparently Rose/Pearl doesn’t make an Opal???).

like??? seriously???? instead of getting a new fusion we could’ve gotten to know about (and something that could’ve hinted Rose’s true motives or Pearl’s true relationship w/ Rose) we just end up getting a “sexier” Pearl with wild hair and no personality whatsoever

Sana is sitting in the kitchen. Staring blankly at her empty computer screen. She’s quiet, but her mind is going wild.

“Will they ever forgive me? Why did I do that? Why did Chris say they didn’t like me as much since the bus? What have I done? Why aren’t the girls on my side, like they’ve been so quick to forgive Sara? Why…“

Her thoughts are suddenly interrupted by a soft knock on the door.

“I’ll get it”, her mother says.

Her mother goes to open the door, and lets out a small gasp of surprise.

“Well hello there, stranger,” Sana hears her mother say to the mysterious visitor.

“Hello there. It’s good to see you!” the voice replies, but Sana recognizes this voice. She peers around the corner and sees Even standing in the doorway. No Isak with him. Just Even.

“Do you want me to get Elias?” Mama Bakkoush asks.

“No, I…I’m actually here to see Sana”, Even replies, “Is she around?”

Sana appears from around the corner. “Hey, Even.”

"I thought you could use a friend”, Even replies.

The two settle into the living room, and Sana’s mother looks at the two and smiles, saying “I’ll go make some shish barak.”

MITAM song blurb: If I could fly

“If I could fly, I’d be coming right back home to you.”

Text in bold indicates Harry’s texts and text in italics indicates (y/n)’s texts.

Facetime?

I’m out with my Mum but I’ll be home in an hour?

Sounds good x

I just got home and rang you five times but I’ve just realised that it’s 3am where you are. Hope you’re having sweet dreams about your fabulous girlfriend xx

//

“God I love my wife ‘n everything but I am so glad for a day in the studio.” Harry laughed when his friend walked through the doors of the small studio, looking as sleep deprived as any other father of two.

“The joys of marriage, eh?”

“She’s been moody with me all week,‘s not my fault I didn’t hear the baby crying when it was my turn to get up with her!” He scoffed, throwing his jacket on the rack in the corner. “Appreciate these kid-free years you have with your missus, the most action I get these days is seeing her pump milk because apparently not even my magic touch will make her boobs feel better.”

“You’re gross.” Harry grimaced, looking up from where he was strumming lightly on his guitar. “Are we going to write some music today or just talk about how hard your life is because you’re not getting any action these days?”

“Fuck off.” He laughed. “Just because you have an active sex life.”

Harry laughed along but felt his heart twist when he realised he hadn’t even spoken to his girlfriend in three days now, let alone be intimate with her. It wasn’t by fault of either of them that their relationship was on hold right now and there was nothing they could do about their demanding jobs but he wishes he was able to go home in the evenings and have his girl waiting for him, enjoying their ‘kid-free years’ as he had been advised to. She wasn’t bitter about it, she was more than understanding, as was he about her schedule- they just needed to work on making their relationship a priority over their careers.

Pushing the thoughts to the back of his mind, he decided to get to work instead to take his mind off it all.

By the end of his day in the studio, Harry felt slightly better when he realised he had got all his feelings out in the form of a song. It was a song personal to his current situation but he knew the other three boys would definitely be able to relate.

“I better get going, promised the wife I would do dinner tonight.” His friend announced once they decided they were happy with how the demo of the song was sounding.

“That’s no problem, I’ll lock up here.” Harry nodded with a smile.

“See you tomorrow!” He called on his way out, his headlights illuminating the room through the window moments later, before they began to gradually get further away to the point where they could no longer be seen.

After a while of tweaking the song slightly, he looked at the clock and calculated in his head what time in would be back home.

Can you talk? x

I can talk quietly, I have a sleeping cat on my lap x

He smiled, happy that they finally had a free moment together and wasted no time in clicking the face time icon in the corner of the screen.

“Hey stranger.” Her tired smile greeted him after two rings.

“I’ve missed you.” He smiled, head resting on his arm which was propped up on the guitar on his knee.

“I know, it’s been ages since we talked.” She yawned. “Someone fell asleep the other night after telling me he would be waiting for my call.” Her teasing smile made him laugh quietly.

“You know what I’m like; wide awake one minute and dead to the world the next.”

“True.” She giggled.

He knew it was nearing the early hours of the morning where she was but the conversation flowed so freely, talking about anything and everything, that he figured she needed this call just as much as he did and so tried not to think of the time difference as they talked for what must have been almost an hour

“I was in the studio today.” He announced. “Well, I still am.” He flipped the camera round to show her that he was indeed still in the studio. She giggled when he waved through the mirror.

“Productive day?” She asked.

“Very productive.” He nodded once the camera had flipped back round to face him. “Got a song written.”

“That was very productive.” She looked impressed. “Dare I ask what it’s about or is it a one direction exclusive top secret?”

“Well, it is about you… I think.” He smiled sheepishly.

“You think?” She laughed.

“Yeah.” He nodded. “I didn’t really have you, or us, in mind when I was writing it but I realised when I heard it back that it was the perfect song for us.”

“Can’t wait to hear it then.” She smiled, yawning again.

“You can hear it now, I just haven’t quite figured the exact tune out but I have a rough idea.”

“Really?” Her eyes lit up, excited at the idea of Harry singing a song which he thinks is about her to her for the first time.

“As long as you promise to keep it between us.”

“Pinky promise.” She held her pinky finger up to the screen and he laughed before clearing his throat and setting his phone up in front of him.

“If I could fly.” His deep, raspy singing voice sounded more perfect than she remembered and it filled her heart with contentment at the familiar sound. “I’d be coming right back home to you.” She smiled when she realised how the song fit perfectly in describing them.

Halfway through, she couldn’t keep her eyes open any longer and her phone slipped gently from her hand, the view on the screen now just the dark ceiling of their bedroom. Harry’s focus was completely on the song so he didn’t notice the movement until he had finished and looked to his phone to see what she thought.

He smiled when he realised he had sung her to sleep and simply cut off the call, sending her a text right after.

Sweet dreams, love. Wish I was there with you xx

If only I could fly.. xx

anonymous asked:

I feel down after the new episode, do you think it is still possible that dean will stop sleeping around with women and get together with cas? idk i feel like it will never end and since 11x23 we've seen dean repeat too much that cas is a brother/best friend and it's starting to make me nervous

Well, Dean is a single man, not in a committed relationship (even if WE can clearly see he’s obviously married to Cas), who is allowed to sleep with whoever he wants. Period. But there are some things in that whole scene in the Pickle Jack Shack. And I mean really… the whole place is a sexual innuendo.

Sorry for my “photo of the tv screen screencapping” but… that phallic pickle protruding from the bull riding sign? Ooookay.

(this is also for my two anons asking about what the significance of “Riding Larry” is, so heads up. All will be revealed!)

Also, isn’t it awesome that Sam picked agents Moon and Entwhistle– the two deceased members of The Who as their aliases. THE WHO? on the nose aliases there.

Dean had been “Springsteen, like the Boss” the night before when he’d been talking with her. After she agrees to tell them everything that happened, here’s what she says, with my commentary in parenthesis:

Elke: He ordered burgers to go. It was gonna be a minute. We were slammed. And you knocked back… four shots of tequila?

(already yet another implication that Dean had been drunk, when four shots of tequila for him is probably a warm up)

Elke: Put some (finger quotes) “sick jams” on the juke, and then you hit the bull.

Sam: he what?

Dean: I what?

Elke: Oh yeah, you had the hots for Larry as soon as you walked in here.

(immediately setting an entirely different tone for this conversation, by presenting Dean’s interest in Larry– the mechanical bull with a huge pickle for a phallus– as sexual. Larry is a man’s name, and Dean had “the hots” for him.)

Sam: (quite befuddled by this) He… Dean… you rode Larry?

Dean: (considers this for a minute) Was I good?

Elke: You were– amazing.

(Dean processes that– the fact that he apparently demonstrated skill at riding Larry, and then hums in acceptance of the fact. He smiles. Elke smiles, Sam rolls his eyes so hard he nearly pulls a muscle).

Elke: Anyway, We got to talking, and… you know…

(remember what she’d said earlier, that they were “slammed,” meaning overwhelmed by a rush of customers. Not exactly the sort of situation in which a waitress can “get to talking” with a customer just waiting around for his dinner order to be ready, you know? I already suspect that Elke realizes that Dean WAS roofied here, and didn’t exactly remember what he’d said or done with her… AND THIS I BELIEVE WAS HER TEST TO PROVE IT. She needed to confirm whether he did or didn’t remember what had happened. I’ll quote her here, and then explain afterward)

Elke: (in response to Dean’s complete straight-faced, emotionless waiting for her answer) We blew off some steam.

(Dean STILL has to stop and work out exactly what she means, and then when it registers, Dean only replies with a surprised little “Ah!” Not seeming to recall anything. Because he didn’t. And this doesn’t seem to bother Elke. Because she’s already been told that he was “roofied.” Because most folks would be upset that someone had no obvious response to the confirmation that they’d apparently had sex… It’s kinda insulting, you know? BUT ELKE WAS NOT INSULTED BY DEAN’S LACK OF ANY SORT OF RESPONSE TO THIS INFORMATION. Like the slap to his face earlier implied she would be.)

Sam: Did you see him talking with anyone else?

Elke: My bartender said she saw him run out of here like his pants caught on fire. We were supposed to meet up after close-up. But you never showed…

(Dean looks lost again)

Elke: Poor thing, you were all roofed up! I didn’t… I am so sorry if I took advantage of you.

Dean: (smiling uncomfortably… because yeah… and patting her on the arm) It’s okay.

(Sam asks if they have security cameras and then the scene shifts to Sam and Dean sitting at a table watching security footage on a laptop)

Dean: First action in I don’t know how long, and it’s like it never even happened. Figures.

Sam: Ha. See now that’s comedy.

Okay, now HERE’S THE KEY TO UNDERSTANDING THIS SCENE: waffles.

Yes, waffles.

Who doesn’t love waffles? May I direct you to the Waffle Masterpost, containing EVERY reference to waffles ever on this show (well, aside from this episode, but I’ll update it in a bit here…)

http://mittensmorgul.tumblr.com/post/156133372175/have-we-ever-seen-waffles-on-the-show-outside-of

But what it boils down to is the fact that waffles in this show share some of the same symbolism with El Sol beer. And if it wasn’t clear enough, there was a huge glowing El Sol sign there for good measure.

But as soon as Dean spotted Elke when he and Sam walked into the bar, he identified her as, “the girl from the waffles.” SHE WAS AN ILLUSION, A DECEPTION. She was the girl from the waffles. Waffles being a “more innocent deception” than El Sol.

Because her story of what she and Dean did contradicts itself. Either they were “slammed” to the point that they were so busy that Dean had to wait so long for his food that he not only had multiple shots of tequila but ALSO had time to ride Larry, or she and Dean had time for a leisurely chat and even MORE time to take a break and go somewhere to “blow off some steam.”

Which was it, lady?

She only knew that Dean LEFT, in fact “ran out of here like his pants caught on fire,” because HER BARTENDER told her. Because Elke was “slammed” with customers. THIS IS WHY SHE SLAPPED HIM. Because Dean ran out before her shift ended, when they were supposed to meet up. He ditched her, and then “pretended” not to even recognize her, after having chatted her up and made plans for after her apparently very busy shift, and that’s why I think she was just fucking with him here.

I mean, either she was so busy that Dean had to wait for service, or she had enough time to have some sort of long talk and a quickie in the bathroom or the alley or wherever. WHICH WAS IT, ELKE?!

So in the conversation that revolved around the fact that Dean had been “roofied,” bookended by “the girl from the waffles” and Dean’s assertion that it was “like it never even happened,” well…

I have serious doubts that anything really DID happen.

I mean, I think he was planning on something happening. He was going to go back after her shift to meet up with her… possibly… but did he ever even get his burgers?!

And without his memories, is it weird that it took THREE TRIES to find the place Dean had gone that night. That place was the third one they checked out, and Sam would’ve followed the same sort of Hunter Logic in trying to find the burger joint Dean went to, probably starting with the one closest to their motel and working his way out. So Dean bypassed two other perfectly good burger places to walk to THIS PLACE SPECIFICALLY. This place that advertised the mechanical bull riding.

This place where Elke confirmed that Dean “had the hots for Larry as soon as he walked in.”

Dean went out of his way to get a burger from THIS PLACE not because he didn’t think the other burger places were any good, but BECAUSE HE WANTED TO RIDE THE MECHANICAL BULL. My guess? He probably saw the sign on their way back to the motel, and he gave the excuse to Sam that he was going out for burgers while Sam did the research SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE HE WANTED TO SNEAK OUT AND RIDE LARRY.

I mean… ???? This is one of those things that Performing Dean would NEVER do, would NEVER ADMIT TO SAM that he would do. Which is why Sam was so ?????? that Dean actually RODE LARRY.

Because Dean hadn’t been “roofied” yet at that point. That was all Dean.

He wanted to do something silly and fun and homoerotic without being judged for it. This is the same Dean that unapologetically loves Finding Nemo. And waffles…

So he has a few shots of liquid courage and climbs on Larry. We see that scene at the end of the episode. He fully gets that memory back, and what appear to be snippets of Hexed Dean Moments… and yet he gets no memories back of his “blowing off some steam” with Elke.

Because it’s like it never even happened.

I think Elke was slowly realizing throughout her conversation that Sam and Dean weren’t lying about Dean not remembering anything from the night before. So she went from angry over having been stood up and Dean “pretending” he didn’t even remember her, to passive-aggressively answering their questions… to noticing Sam and Dean’s bizarre reactions to hearing that he gleefully rode Larry… and then I think threw in the bit about blowing off steam with him just to see his reaction.

He seemed genuinely incapable of either confirming or denying it, and took her word for it that they did something sexual. He wasn’t gross about it, he didn’t elaborate on her assertion, nor did he immediately deny it either. He just accepted her word and moved on.

Notice immediately after that point she distances herself from Dean with her words… not “he ran out” or “I saw him run out, but “my bartender said she saw him run out.” BECAUSE ELKE HERSELF WAS “SLAMMED.” She was busy DOING HER JOB. She didn’t even SEE him run out without his food.

And really, how the hell long was he there, if he had multiple shots while waiting for the burgers, picked songs on the jukebox, rode Larry, made plans for after work with Elke (that he may or may not have intended to follow up on) while sitting at the bar while SHE WAS BUSY WORKING. Long enough after all that for her to not even notice him suddenly run out? BEFORE HE EVEN GOT HIS BURGERS?!

Like, how the hell long does it take to flip a couple of burgers? 15? 20 minutes tops? Even if they’re slammed?

And he still managed to do ALL THAT ^^ WHILE WAITING?

And then as Dean and Sam ran out the back door, we can see a GIANT glowing El Sol sign just inside the bar.

EVERYTHING that happened in there, aside from Dean riding Larry, was an illusion that started with the girl from the waffles and ended with him escaping out the back door past an El Sol sign.

The ONLY thing we actually SEE that was TRUE was that Dean rode Larry.

(aside to note that Dean confirmed himself that he hasn’t had any “action” in so long he can’t even remember when it happened…)

And for my Larry anons, I have no idea if “Riding Larry” is an idiom, but “riding” is a sexual innuendo. And the implication that Dean rode Larry… well… I mean just watch him and tell me what you think is going on there… Dean… riding a dude called Larry… it’s not complex math here.

(and heck here’s another reference… that time Dean WAS roofied in 9.13… SWEET POTATOES. Salted caramel. Best of both worlds. Salty and sweet. and that reminds me of the other “sweet” references lately in relation to angels… and we’re down the rabbit hole again)

He had five minutes until it hit midnight, five minutes until we officially entered March, and my birthday ended.
He had five minutes to send me one message. Just one.

You were sitting on your bed with two of your friends, Olivia and Alice. You three had been studying, or at least trying.

“My turn to play a song!” Alice laughed, grabbing your computer.

“Yeah, not like I was using that for my homework. You know that’s why I invited you over right?” you grabbed your notebook, opening it.

“Stop being a nerd,” Olivia said, closing her book.

As soon as you heard the beat of the song, you glared at Alice.

“You know I will get nothing done if he’s playing.” You sighed.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” she said, sliding the computer to you.

You stared at the screen, watching your celebrity crush sing.

Conor Maynard.

You had been gushing over him for the past year and a half. You found him through one of Joe Sugg’s videos. And you immediately fell in love.

You had completely forgotten about your homework, you were mesmerized by him. He was absolutely gorgeous.

Your friends knew this video was your favorite, because he looked so sexy in it.

It wasn’t an original song, it was a cover. But he always put a twist on his covers.

It was his deleted video of him covering Panda. You had memorized the entire thing, seeing as it was only 2 minutes long. You didn’t start signing until the part that Conor made.

“I don’t want a good girl, I’ve been rolling with the baldest.” You sang, looking at your friends. They had their phones facing you. They were Snap chatting you singing, they always did. You knew you could sing, but you never did. You chose to pick a different career path and keep that talent hidden.

Or so you thought.

“She told me models and she told me she’s an actress.” You smiled at their cameras. They quickly lowered their phones, posting the snap. But seconds later their phones were back up, filming you singing.

“Talking about how she been everywhere up on that atlas.” Alice made a funny face, causing you to laugh.

“Doesn’t make a difference, she’ll still end up on my mattress.” Olivia and Alice were both smiling, this encouraged you to keep going.

“Fuck your 15 minutes I’m the man of the hour. No more room up in my bed, let’s take it to the shower.” Great, now you were thinking about Conor in the shower. Your cheeks got red.

“Keep going!” one of them shouted.” You laughed, finishing the song.

You three laughed, “Why don’t you sing more often!” Olivia questioned.

“I don’t know, I just feel like it’s a hard career and I don’t want to be stressed my entire life. I rather be relaxed than be famous.” You grabbed your notebook, determined to get some homework done.

But then the next song came on, and your best friends looked at each other.

“No,” you said seriously, but there was a slight smile creeping onto your face.

It was Better Than You by Conor and Rita Oar. This song always got you three hyped.

“Please, we promise we’ll study after,” Alice pleaded.

“Promise?” you asked.

“YES!” they said in unison. You knew they were lying but agreed. You three began dancing to the music, abandoning your work.

This continued for the next 3 or 4 songs. It wasn’t until you guys decided to get food that your life would change.

You grabbed your laptop, following your best friends out to your kitchen.

“Ice cream?” you asked and they nodded their heads. While you got the food they grabbed the bowls and spoons.

“This is my favorite song!” Olivia screamed, turning it up.

It was Castle on the Hill by Ed Sheer an.

After you finished dispersing the ice cream, you put it away. Alice and Olivia sat down at the island, but you stood on the other side, facing them.

You began singing along with Ed, “I’m on my way, driving at ninety down those country lanes, singing to ‘Tiny Dancer’” you swayed your hips, shoving a spoonful of ice cream into your mouth.
“And I miss the way you make me feel, and it’s real, we watched the sunset over the castle on the hill,” you hadn’t realized that Olivia was filing you. But it wasn’t on a 10 second video on Snap Chat. It was a complete video.

After the song ended you heard giggles, so you opened your eyes.

“What’s so funny?” you asked, shoving yet another bite of ice cream into your mouth.

“Oh nothing,” Alice said, putting her bowl in the sink. “We should really go study.”

“Yeah, c’mon Y/n,” Olivia said, going back into your room.

The rest of the night was filled with quizzing each other and plenty of laughter.

~~

It wasn’t until the next morning that you were aware of what your friends did. You woke up to hundreds of twitter notifications, a few snap chats, 3 missed calls from Olivia and 14 texts from both girls.

“What the hell?” you asked yourself as you went into the kitchen to grab some breakfast.

You put some bread in the toaster, opening your messages.

From Olivia:

6:39 have you seen twitter?

6:40 Look at Twitter!

6:47 Omg are you not awake yet?

6:48 Y/n

6:48 Y/n, wake up!!

You opened your texts from Alice.

From Alice:

6:53 Omg go on Twitter!

7:01 I didn’t think you’d go viral!

7:06 He might notice you

7:14 Y/N!!!!!!!

7:14 CONOR NOTICED YOU

7:15 HE RETWEETED MY TWEET ABOUT YOU

7:15 FOR GODS SAKE WAKE UP

7:15 Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N!!!!!!!

7:16 oh my god you don’t deserve this. Wake the fuck up

You froze. The toast was dropped onto the plate in front of you.

Conor noticed you.

You reread the text too many times. Then you opened Twitter.

You had so many notifications your phone froze. So you closed your phone, and opened it again, refreshing. You decided it would be easiest to go to the source. Alice. You typed in her twitter name and saw the tweet.

Alice :) @aliiibooo

@ConorMaynard wya w/ this collab ??

Attached was a video, so clicked on it. It was you, standing at your counter. You were singing, every now and then shoving a spoonful of ice cream in your mouth. You cringed at the faces you made, you looked awful.

Curiosity took the best of you, and you searched Conor’s name.

Conor Maynard @ConorMaynard

What’s her twitter @aliiibooo ?

You almost peed yourself. Instead you started to hyperventilate.

But the surprises didn’t stop there.

Olivia Jones @viaoli324

her twitter is: @y/t/n , @ConorMaynard ;)

And yet, the surprises were still not over. Because then, right then. At 7:32 in the morning on the 4th of February, 2017, Conor Maynard followed you.

You immediately screenshotted the notification. You then proceeded to run to your room, rip open your computer and pull up Skype.

“You’re awake!” Olivia smiles.

“Have you seen it yet?” Alice says smugly.

“HE FOLLOWED ME,” you screamed.

They stared at you, mouths open.

“You’re joking!’ Olivia says.

“No, I’m not. It just happened. Like a minute ago. I can’t breathe.”

“Y/n! This is amazing!” Alice squeals, squeezing her blanket tighter.

“Oh… my… god…” you stared at your phone, a new notification popping up.

Conor Maynard

Hello Y/n. I saw the video of you singing. You’re really good. How do you feel about doing a cover with me?

anonymous asked:

Who was your first bias in BTS? (I know you like Jimin now and I ship you both)

It took me a long time to find who my first bias was…

It was a dark and stormy night when I was watching ‘Save Me’ for the first time… When suddenly.. something red appeared on the screen

*It was at this moment she knew she f*cked up*

Yes. Taehyung was my first bias… Or so I thought.

It’s been many months since that stormy night and everything was fine until I started to fall in love with Jimin’s personality

I didn’t want to betray Tae…

So…After a long search of why I was feeling what I was feeling

I have come to the conclusion that I am a crazy motherf*cker.

The end.

Mona is not going to die!

So as we all know, PLL looooves to put moments in the promos that look extremely dramatic, but ultimately turn out to be nothing. For example, when Mary ‘kidnapped’ Spencer, we all thought Mary was going to turn bad (well, not me, she’s always been my cinnamon roll), but it ended up just being for the promo to look exciting.

This picture -

is Mona in the Australian promo (I think), and she says ‘Are you here to kill me?’

Now, look at these photos of Mona from the 7x20 promo -

Her hair is the same, and look at her neckline. It’s the same. She’s in a (mental) hospital gown. Even look at the wall in the first photo - it has a change of colour (you can see it better if you tilt your screen forwards) just like the walls in the promo pictures.

What I’m trying to say is, I’m certain that this is a flashback of Mona in Radley (look at the windows, that is not Welby). Due to her illness she was certain that when AD visited her they were there to kill her, hence the ‘Are you here to kill me’ line (and they obviously weren’t).

But, the promo team put it in the promo to make us excited and on the edge of our seats.
I mean, it worked, didn’t it?

I know it’s not even been 24 hours since the screening but can I just say thank you to the fandom?

I came on my dash this morning feeling like it would be like walking through a mine field but not ONE spoiler has crossed my dash. I do have ‘ouat musical’ and ‘6x20′ black listed but even on mobile - the spoilers I’ve seen have been under a cut or people have been vague about them if they aren’t.

As a shipmate who wants to be surprised by what she sees Sunday - thank you!

“What does it say?” You call back, too scared to step away from your laptop and lose the flow of inspiration that had hit you out of the blue. With a draft due in a few days for your Creative Writing class, you’ll take what you can get.

Wanda emerges from your room, phone in hand and a grin lighting up her features. “Is there something you forgot to tell me?”

“Huh?”

“Wear something comfortable tonight, but not white,” Wanda reads directly from your phone. “I’m so excited. Happy face.”

Your hands freeze over your keyboard, knowing exactly who that message is from without Wanda having to tell you. “Oh.”

Soulmates

Okay. NEW SERIES! I had to do it because my love for AJ is beginning to over take my whole life. I did this one based off an AU prompt that’s been floating around. Basically the OC has an antique necklace that her grandma gave her that’s got supposed special powers to find her soulmate. She obviously doesn’t believe that, until she meet AJ Styles (the man she’s been crushing on for a while now), in person for the first time and something odd happens.
I hope you all like it!
