like in an ironic kind of way

’ “It’s you. I can… smell you,” Hinata said, a little awed, and Tobio realized the reverse was true as well. Whatever he was smelling, that hot, smoky scent—that was Hinata.

Tobio bowed his head to rest his cheek against Hinata’s forehead, breathing deep inhales of his skin. He had never done this before, never. Not only because of the enormous breach of social conduct, in casually letting a Wolf who had professed no interest in courting him scent a Lamb like him this way; but also because he had never met one who had ever found his scent pleasing.

Hinata thought he smelled good?’

There was a little village where a Wolf smith kept a forge,
And a Lamb with hair as black as night came one day through its doors.

The smith was kind, his smile was bright, like iron shaped by fire,
And the Lamb felt for the first time a strange yearning, a desire.

thank god for the mythbusters though because it used to be that whenever i knew i had insomnia i’d just kind of accept it and stay up doing whatever until my morning classes and spend the day feeling like shit

but then they did an episode where they established that even just fucking laying there for a half hour, not even sleeping just laying there and not even for an hour, makes a significant difference and you’ll feel way better

it has made a huge difference in my life to know that it’s okay if i can’t fall asleep, it takes a lot of the pressure off and ironically helps me fall asleep better

what your favourite musical says about you

move over horoscopes this is the Hot New Personality Metric of 2017

any golden age musical: you’re a dancer, or you really wish you were a dancer. you’re not really involved in the shipping / character analysis aspects of fandom. you are either extraordinarily pretentious or very very chilled out, but either way you probably think you were born in the wrong decade

bandstand: you definitely think you were born in the wrong decade

hello dolly: you have a trademark Favourite Actress™ and you have probably argued with a falsettos fan at some point in the past month

war paint: you really like patti lupone

mainstream sondheim (into the woods, sweeney todd, etc): if you were a spice, you’d be flour. if you were a book, you’d be two books.

obscure sondheim: you have a working knowledge of music theory and you like to try and make objective value judgements of musicals based on this. you probably want to be a music director and you listen along to musicals with a piano and/or a copy of the score by your side. alternatively, you actually prefer a mainstream sondheim musical but you want to sound cultured

any german musical: much like the golden age musical fan, you’re either really chill or REALLY pretentious. you also care a lot about costume design

any show that’s basically only done for school productions: there’s a solid chance that you’re the kind of theatre kid everyone hates. either that or you’re very independent and don’t give a shit what anyone thinks, to a really admirable extent.

cats: you’re a furry, or you had a warrior cats phase, or you started liking it ironically but accidentally got really into it. you’re either an incredible dancer or the very thought of dancing strikes terror into your heart

any other lloyd webber musical: either you’re very committed to being ironic, or you’re chaotic evil. maybe both

les mis: you’re a little bit basic and you either embrace it or try way too hard to disguise it. you have no concept of liking things in moderation. you probably actually care about the west end

phantom of the opera: as above. you probably had a twilight phase, or used phantom as a substitute for a twilight phase. you also have really strong opinions about the design aspects of theatre

wicked: you do high school theatre. you are a little bit too passionate about high school theatre.

next to normal: you’ve probably been in the online theatre fandom for a while and you sometimes forget it’s not 2012. aaron tveit was your first celebrity crush.

newsies: you’re incredibly good at picking out a single ensemble member at the start of a show and following their entire track for 2 and a half hours. you really wish you were a dancer

fun home: you’re a lesbian

ghost quartet: either your favourite musical is actually great comet but you’re scared of sounding too mainstream, or you manage to be really weird and effortlessly cool at the same time. you have a favourite cryptid and you definitely believe at least one conspiracy theory

great comet: you were in the les mis or hamilton fandoms at some point. you want to be a little bit edgier than you actually are, and you’re probably a little bit depressed. alternatively, you’re a mother with a crush on josh groban. you probably have strong opinions about the 2017 tonys.

falsettos: you definitely have strong opinions about the 2017 tonys.

hamilton: on the one hand, you’re not afraid of liking things once they start to be seen as overhyped, and that’s to be admired. on the other hand there’s at least a 50% chance that you’ve called thomas jefferson a sinnamon roll so uhh

in the heights: you probably also like hamilton, but you either love or despise the hamilton fandom.

the dear evan hansen / be more chill / heathers combo: you love making fanart and animatics make up the majority of your youtube recommendations. you also really love memes. you can sometimes be a little bit obnoxious but your heart is in the right place

the above combo plus hamilton: i’m scared of you.

5 Reason’s Why Supernatural is the Gayest Show on Television (That’s Still Stuck in the Closet)

To start with, I’m not delusional.  I’m fully aware that the studio and execs have settled into a comfortable pattern with Supernatural, and especially considering it’s heavily mixed demographic (interestingly, it was ranked a favorite among republicans and democrats in 2016) they’re unlikely to rock the ship with a canonically queer relationship between two of it’s main characters.

However, it’s important to understand exactly how much queerness is bubbling beneath the thick surface layer of “no homo:”  from the orgies of male-on-male eyesex to the inspiration for most of its main characters, Supernatural is queer to its very core.

Here are five (blaring but stubbornly unacknowledged) reasons why:

1.  Dean’s gratuitously bisexual inspiration.

Whenever someone claims a queer interpretation of Dean is baseless, I’m always happy to direct them straight to his flamingly bisexual source:  Dean Moriarty, his namesake and direct inspiration, a la the novel On the Road.

Admittedly, I read On the Road and didn’t particularly enjoy it, as I found it to be a somewhat masturbatory reassertion of masculinity for its narrator, Sal Paradise.  Sal idolizes and fixates the charismatic Dean and his promiscuous lifestyle, openly having sex with and impregnating multiple women, and is all around a heterosexual power figure…right up until the point at which Dean propositions a male prostitute.

Though he’s never shown doing anything gratuitous with male characters (since the book was published in the 1960s, it wouldn’t have been legal to) it’s clear that Dean is very much bisexual, not ashamed of it, and in terms of personality, very similar to Dean.  There are a few key differences (Dean Moriarty, for example, legitimately gives zero fucks about anything, whereas Dean Winchester is secretly a little ball of anxiety with the weight of the world on his shoulders) but it’s clear where Eric Kripke got his inspiration from.

Moreover, Dean Moriarty was in turn based off of the real life bisexual counterculturist Neal Cassady, who among other things had a twenty-year sexual relationship with a male poet.  Here, he is pictured in a Denver mugshot:

So next time someone tells you the homoerotic subtext of Supernatural exists only in the imagination of rabid fangirls, remember that Dean is the direct descendant of two ragingly bisexual icons.

2.  Castiel (or at least his wardrobe) was also based off of a bisexual character.

For a show so aggressively devoted to a “no homo” interpretation, it has a real propensity to drawing inspiration from queer characters:  everyone’s favorite baby in a trench coat, for example, was modeled after the demon-busting John Constantine from the Hellblazer comics.  Yup, another bisexual.

Though in true assbutt fashion, his love of men is censored in movie and TV adaptions, Constantine unabashedly swings both ways in paper form – a.k.a. where Kripke found inspiration for Castiel’s look.  Here, we see him platonically receiving a man-hug from one of his bros:

So I’m not saying the fact that two out of three main characters are modeled after canonically queer figures could have anything to do with Supernatural’s gratuitous queer subtext, but y’know.  It might.

3.  Cas himself is sexually complex (and literally cannot be straight.)

Dean has made reference to the fact that he “doesn’t swing that way” (ironically, both of which times he was literally in the midst of blatantly flirting with men.)

Cas, however, has no such reservations:  he’s never indicated, vocally or otherwise, a preference towards either gender, so much as outright declaring that he doesn’t give a damn.

He reacts to male and female flirtation much the same way:  just try and tell me his suspicious glower and Mick wasn’t similar to Mandy the waitress (and try and tell me they both weren’t acting like they’d like to eat him for dinner.)

Moreover, the only time we’ve seen him ever achieve some kind of intimacy with female characters is when they’re literally throwing themselves at him.  Hey, he’s an aesthetically pleasing fellow – or rather, an aesthetically pleasing something.

Which brings me to my next point that he isn’t really a fellow at all:  Cas not only gives zero fucks about sexual orientation, he also gives zero fucks about gender.  Sure, he’ll spend seven years in the same ill-fitting trench coat, but he’ll also rock a petticoat like nobody’s business.

I’ve discovered that the writer for “Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets,” Steve Yockey, is a gay man, which honestly makes it all the more perfect:  not only does it establish the Orlando-esque flexibility (or nonexistence) of Cas’s gender, but it eliminates the possibility of his straightness.

And I want Destiel to be canon as much as anybody, but am I opposed to Cas being a genderfluid lesbian?  No.  No, I am not.

4.  Dean can textually be interpreted as bisexual (and probably should be.)

For anyone who questions whether Dean not being straight as an arrow, I’m happy to point out some very canon things that happened on the show:

(Examples courtesy of @some-people-call-it-tragic!)

And yes, when feeling threatened, he’s professed not to swing that way.  But you know how many queer people I know who have at one point felt compelled to lie about our sexual orientation?  Every single one.  And I live in the bluest of blue states – Dean was raised in Bible Belt America and spends most of his time in the Southwest.  Not to mention the fact that he was raised during the heat of the AIDS academic.

In other words, he has every logical reason to be wary at the prospect of coming out of the closet, or even acknowledging same sex attraction at all.

Moreover it’s been canonically established that Dean has a habit of lying about himself to protect his image of masculinity:  according to Dean, he doesn’t do shorts, chick flicks, cucumber water, skinny jeans and sunglasses, and Taylor Swift music.  You know how many of those things he loves?  All of them

Finally, not every member of the cast or crew might agree (though I know for a fact that some of them do) but their interpretations do not effect textuality.  And Dean can textually be interpreted as bisexual.

5.  Dean and Cas make a better couple than any of their love interests.

I’m going to state something I feel is obvious:  Cas and Dean have more buildup, tension, chemistry, emotional connection, and romantic history than literally any of their other interests.

Take Lisa, for example:  she’s Dean’s longest lasting introduced as female partner, and she’s introduced as the “bendiest weekend of his life.”

Furthermore, I’d argue that sexual attraction notwithstanding, Dean was never romantically in love with Lisa.  To him, she epitomizes his desire for a mother figure, a home, and his lost childhood, as is best demonstrated in his fantasy from “Dream a Little Dream of Me:”  Lisa isn’t a seductive or romantic figure here – she’s a maternal one.

Though since Dean has never had a long lasting relationship (or, to my belief, been completely in love with a girl) it’s easy to see how he’d misinterpret these feelings as romantic love.

Then we have Cas, who’s introduced by pulling Dean from the depths of hell, who makes most one-on-one scenes with Dean look like a soft core porno, and who recently (canonically!) declared his love for Dean.

I don’t dislike Lisa, but it’s easy to see which of the two relationships is more three-dimensional, more original, and more worthy of screentime.

“I hope I deserve it”

Is what Dany days as Jon “verbally” bends the knee. But why exactly?

Dany is a proud woman, and when she’s not, she puts up a facade of being proud. Her neverending list of titles prove it, but it’s not like it’s not right for her to be or that there’s no reason to be - in the contrary, she both needs it and deserves it. She did endure all that she explained to Jon and she did achieve all that her titles means. The fact that so many - me included, at times - don’t like it, is because it’s a tad repetitive, but it’s completely true, and because it’s often put in comparison with Jon who, on the other hand, is extremely humile, and for whose honour Davos himself had to step in - because he doesn’t care. He came to Dragonstone for a diplomatic purpose and that’s what he’d doing, being the honourable, severe son of his adoptive father Ned Stark. All that he did, he did for others, never for himself, fully knowing he’d gain but hatred but for it. And if he doesn’t bend the knee all the times Dany asks him is because he and his men and women in the north have now different matters to take care of, much less “trivial” than a war in the south. Let alone “brag”, he doesn’t even state what he’s done exactly. David has to, in his place. And that’s when he says

“He took a knife in the heart for his people…!”

But Jon sends him a stare and stops him. Why? Because it’s already difficult to believe in dead armies and White Walkers, let alone resurrections.

But Dany is still a tad curious. This man is the North is a ruler of about her age, humile, mysterious. He’s here for a very specific purpose and doesn’t seem to be afraid of her, nor of her dragons. If she wants to kill him, so be it, he’s come simply to serve his people. And that’s how she starting to see him as very similar to her, unengaged in day-to-day personal matters. Because Dany too, for as proud as she is, wants to serve the people.

So she asks Tyrion about it, and he doesn’t give the matter importance. She then asks Jon in person, but they are interrupted.

Then he leaves for the mission beyond the wall. She can see again just how much of a leader. Just like she took Drogon and met the Lannister army in open field personally, so he wouldn’t let his men do something so stupid dangerous without taking part in it himself. He’s again honourable, severe, uninterested. When she arrives to save them, he’s about the take her hand and get away

But he doesn’t. He lets the other go first while fighting off the wights. Selfless to a fault, so much that he almost loses his life for it, but he manages to return. And she sees his scars. At this point I guess she asks Davos for clarifications and this time, he gives them to her, explanaining that the King in The North did take a knife in the heart for his people.

At this point, to her, he’s the most honourable leader she’s ever met. He’s nothing like the lords and ladies she’s fighting, not even like her now deceased allies. He’s merciful and self-sacrifical. And after weeks spent together she should understand better the situation in the North and what exactly it implied for him to do what he did.

That’s where the “I hope I deserve it” lies. He’s a man she admires, not one of those sheep she either has the win over or threaten. What he did for his people, the kind of things he did, is what she’s like to do when she sits on the iron throne.

Jon, at the same time, understood her better. What she did, at the cost of one of her children, to save them, is in the same way something he has profound respect for. The North doesn’t like southern rulers because they are not understood by them, it’s two completely different worlds. But this one dared to go north as see with her own two eyes what it is. Jon respects her now. He never had much love for power anyway, he doesn’t want it: if he didn’t bend the knee it’s because of his people most and foremost.

Whether you ship them or not, I think this relationship is beautiful because in this season we slowly see two people come together from opposite sides, backgrounds, experiences, even geographic places, united only by the so hard to find willingness to always put others before themselves. That they love each other is a consequence of this, because they both see this beauty of character in each other, which is indeed firstly in themselves.

sweet shop ➹ peter parker

summary : to put it simply, peter parker doesn’t like candy that much, but somehow he keeps finding himself at the same candy shop in manhattan, and it’s definitely not because of the cute worker always standing behind the counter at precisely four in the afternoon. definitely not.

author’s note : if there’s typos my bad i don’t proofread i’m lazy

“The freckly dork with the sweet eyes is back.” It’s the first thing you hear when you walk into work that afternoon, four o’clock sharp as usual, fiddling with the strap of your apron with the shop name scrawled across the front in lovely cursive letters. You lift your gaze from the cash register toward the aisle you’ve noticed he wanders in most frequently- not that you’ve really been noticing the cute boy of course- and find him through the throng of people, though he’s quite easy to spot considering he’s shuffling awkwardly through stacks of chocolate whilst blatantly staring at you. You’re not sure he even realizes what he’s doing until you lift your hand in a tentative wave and his entire  face pretty much glows pink as he smiles back nervously and he knocks into a display shelf.

“Poor kid is smitten,” your coworker sighs with a smirk plastered on her face as she unties her own apron and slips into the backroom to hang it up. “Does he even know your name? Do you know his?”

You wave her off dismissively. “My name is on my name tag, I’m sure he knows it. He never buys anything, anyway. He just… like, lingers here.” You shrug. “He’s cute so I let him stay.”

She throws her head back and lets out a laugh, returning her scrutinizing gaze back toward the boy with the precariously gelled hair who is hastily trying to restock the shelf he knocked over while simultaneously stumbling into another one. You wince at him, trying not to stare because god, he’s the cutest thing you’ve ever seen but he reminds you of a baby deer learning to walk for the first time in the clumsiest, messiest way imaginable. “He comes here to gawk at you, dumbass. His eyes never stray,” she places a hand mockingly on her heart as you roll your eyes toward her. You flash a jovial smile to a customer when they approach you to ring up their order before turning back to your friend.

“Should I talk to him?” You inquire, placing the money in the correct slots of the register. You glance back up at him as he holds his hands out in front of a chocolate, silently pleading with it to stay put so he stopped looking like an absolute moron in front of you. He looks back at you and this time waves back a little, running a hand through his hair in an attempt to appear cooler than he actually was. “I’m gonna talk to him.” You say, not waiting for your friend to divulge her own opinion on the matter.

She shrugs, slipping on her jean jacket and grabbing her purse. “You’ve always been a sucker for the dorky, in need of help, doe eyed type of guys.” You swat at her shoulder playfully but she dodges it, winking at you before walking around the counter and lightly patting the boy on the shoulder as she makes her grand departure. He looks around in confusion until he sees your friend gesturing toward you.

“Scotty, can you cover for me for just a sec?” You call, your face turning to the backroom of the store while Scott, your other coworker, emerges from it. He gives you a scowl, brown eyes narrowed, though you know its playful. To avoid song quite conceited, you don’t admit it often, but you’re pretty much everyone’s favorite employee. “Thanks babes.” He takes your place at the register, and despite the tattoos and nose ring he sports, his smile is practically contagious. He’s another favorite among the customers just because of how pleasant and charming he is.

Peter, though you don’t known his name just yet, watches as you exit your position at the register and hastily tries to make himself look busy standing in front of the same selection of candy that’s he been for fifteen minutes now. He picks up a chocolate bar, pretending to examine it as thoroughly as possible when you lean against the stand next to him. His palms feel sweaty. “I- I was gonna buy something eventually, you know, one of these days. I swear.” He practically shoves the Hershey’s bar in your face, but you lightly push his hand back. “I’m just- I’m, um, very, very indecisive.”

You laugh a little. “Um, it’s fine. That’s not even what I came over here for.” You scratch the back of your neck for a second, an anxious habit because suddenly, you’re pretty nervous standing in front of a sweetly awkward boy with possibly the nicest eyes you’ve ever seen and the cutest shy smile that he seems to be trying to maintain desperately.

“Oh.” He nods, heat crawling up his cheeks as he sidesteps out of your view. “I- I- I- um, sorry for blocking something, I probably am-”

“You’re not,” you assure him. Peter can feel his heart squeeze tightly when you take a step closer toward him, but your smile is the least intimidating thing he’s ever come across. It’s gentle. He appreciates the gentleness of it. “So, um, what’s your name?” It doesn’t come out as smooth as you would have liked it to, but Peter grins back at you like you’ve just asked him the greatest question in the universe.

“I’m Peter,” he replies, running a hand through his hair again in a way similar to your own nervous tick of rubbing the back of your neck. “Uh, Peter Parker, he repeats, not knowing if you wanted his last name or not.

Scott, across the room, cups his hands around his mouth and calls toward you, “Y/N, if you’re gonna flirt with that kid, at least reorganize the shelves, too!” You turn around to give Scott the finger. To be honest though, you’re also turning around to mask the embarrassment on your face.

Peter steps out of the way again so you can stand in front of the mess he had already created just a few minutes before. “I’m Y/N, in case you didn’t catch that.” Peter likes the little disconcerted expression you’re donning now. He’s glad that he’s not the only one flustered here, and in an odd way, it makes him feel a little more confident when talking to you, the same person he’s been trying to gather the courage to hold a conversation with for the two weeks.

“I knew that already,” he says. Then, realizing the odd way you’re looking at him suddenly, he continues, “because of, you know, the uh, name tag. Your name tag. It has your name on it. So, that’s how I know.” Another nervous smile flashed toward you.

“Oh, yeah,” you look down at it. You continue stacking the shelves in the proper manner. “You really did a number on these,” you wave your hand toward the shelves. “Tell me, how’d you manage to knock down two different shelves in under five minutes and put everything back in a way not even remotely close to the way they were before?”

He knows you mean it lightheartedly, but he still blushes even deeper than before. “Hey, at least I tried,” he answers defensively. “But, um, I don’t even really know. I think you made me nervous. You- you waved at me.” He glances down at his shoes, shuffling his feet again. Maybe I shouldn’t have said that, he thinks to himself. He misses the beam you give him, secretly pleased with yourself for having that effect on him. It was flattering.

“I made you nervous?” You raise an eyebrow at him, and he nods. “That’s cute, Peter. I’m not much to get nervous over, though. Trust me.” You turn your back on the display shelf just in time for Peter to shake his head at you.

“I’ve been coming in here for two weeks now, and I haven’t bought anything because I’m too nervous to go up to the register and talk to you. So yeah, you are. Something to get nervous over, I mean.” You knew what he meant, but he had a habit of over-explaining every little detail that you found endearing, so you let him talk. “Is that weird? Am I weird?”

“Nah.” You reach out to squeeze his hand for literally a millisecond, which irritates him to no end because he kind of wants you to hold on for longer. “Like I said before, it’s kind of cute. You’re a cute kid.”

Puffing out his chest a little, he says, “Well, I wouldn’t really call myself a kid, I am fifteen so…” Oddly enough, it’s that comment alone that makes you sort of fall in love with him in that moment, and the way he so terribly wants to impress you. There’s no way to describe him other than ridiculously sweet, which is ironic considering you’re standing in a candy shop when he admits that you’re the prettiest person he’s ever laid his eyes on and when he asks for your number, you don’t hesitate to give it to him.

It’s the first time he buys something from the store, and he walks out with a stupidly happy grin on his face and approaches Ned with a new bounce in his step. He’s been standing out there for a half hour and patience that was diminishing faster and faster. As they’re walking back to the train so they can go home, Ned eyes Peter as he bites into a chocolate bar. “Peter, you literally hate chocolate, what are you doing?”

Peter shrugs, taking another piece off. “This chocolate bar scored me a date and the number of the cutest worker in that store. I’m gonna learn to love it.”

“The worker you’ve been stalking for the past two weeks?”

    “It wasn’t stalking, Ned!”

Ned gives Peter an unconvincing nod, but truthfully, he’s glad to see his best friend so excited over someone. It’s been awhile since Liz, and Ned knows Peter deserves to be happy. And boy, is Peter ever so happy, even while he’s eating chocolate that he hasn’t liked since he was seven.

This is that fic I was talking about the other day, the one I wasn’t sure I wanted to post. I ended up writing TWO similar but distinct fics (different POV, different ending) based on the premise of this fic because I just kept tinkering with it, so this is the second version. The first one… idk, maybe I’ll toss it or maybe I’ll post it later for the curious among you.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sterek high school AU, G, 1.7k words

Stiles thinks Scott is joking at first, mostly because he’s laughing so hard he can barely get the words out. “There’s a guy backstage asking for you by name. He’s got flowers.”

Stiles rolls his eyes and goes back to wiping the lipstick off his mouth. After four performances, he can get in and out of the dress and the wig in no time flat. He can even walk in heels without too much wobbling. But the lipstick? Bane of his existence. It still takes him a good five minutes of careful wiping and rubbing with petroleum jelly, and even then his mouth always has this odd orangish-coral tinge by the time he goes home for the night. By that point he’s usually too frustrated by the whole thing to even begin to bother with cleaning off the mascara.

Thank god this is closing night, and in a minute they can all go out for tacos and Stiles can set to work forgetting about lipstick for the rest of forever.

Scott’s still hovering at the door, anticipatory. “I think he likes you. Like, like-likes.”

“Ha ha,” Stiles says flatly. He tilts his head to the left and then to the right in front of the mirror, angling his face up into the lights. “Do you think I got it all?”

Scott gives him a careless glance. “Yeah, sure. Looks fine. But no, seriously, the girl who sells the tickets told me he’s shown up to every single performance.”

Scott isn’t joking. He’s laughing at Stiles (and okay, if their positions were reversed, Stiles would totally be laughing at Scott, too), but he isn’t joking. Fuck. Not even Stiles’ dad has come to every performance.

Don't you find it ironic that Mark ask us to respect Felix even though Felix never showed us (Jewish People) any respect? I get where he is coming from but I'm sick of seeing Mark being held as some kind of messiah in the fandom.

No, I don’t find it ironic. See, it doesn’t matter how a person treats you, words are words. Standing up and being the better person is more important than falling to their level, or below, and slinging insults, stripping away their humanity over a joke. Felix did not mean to have his joke interpretted the way he did. A joke does not equal how you actually feel. Watch his video. Take away your biases for a moment and watch the video.

I see it like “Oh i’m gonna drink bleach” or “oh, you stupid little shit, i’m gonna kill you”. You don’t take those jokes seriously. And with that, seeing how there are legitimately disgusting people following Felix, that doesn’t matter, either. You are not your followers. People I disagree with followed me before I spoke out. People Felix disagree with may have left, too after he openly told them to fuck off.

Taking words to heart is bullshit in my opinion. You give meaning to those words. You allow people to speak and allow them to dig themselves their own graves. I am a free speech absolutist. I will defend ANYONE’S right to speak as long as they aren’t making bomb threats, or other threats of the sort. What Felix did was not that, simply something to point out how ridiculous those sites were.

Censoring language is more oppressive and dictorial than allowing someone to speak. Personally, as someone with Jewish people in my family, I couldn’t give a single shit what Felix said because I’m not thin skinned and I know he didn’t truly believe in what he was saying. Dark humor is dark humor. You hate it or you love it. And censoring what people find funny is bullshit. Humor can be a way to cope, and a joke does not equal what you truly feel. Ie) Dead baby jokes.  Disney had every right to drop him, though it’s bullshit that all that hard work was lost.

Friend, I think Mark had a point. Despite this being a Markiplier blog and me kinda focusing on him everyday, I’m able to step back and realize his faults. Analyze the whole situation. People deserve to be treated civily and with respect, no matter what comes out of their mouth, again, as long as it isn’t a threat. You need to step away from this super sensitive, don’t hurt anyone’s feelings for a second and realize, that that is only causing more hatred.

We cannot fight hate with hate. We need to stand up and be bigger people, friend. Sinking down and allowing anger to control us does not make us better. We better this world by showing kindness and respect to people, even if they spit the worst of venom. What I’m seeing is hate being combated with hate, and more hate being produced. This battle is dividing us, friend. Please, take a look around at the world. How divided and hostile we’ve become towards each other. I’ve been in the center of politics for years now, and I’ve watched things be torn apart.

You don’t have to like a person, you can even hate them, to respect them and treat them like another fellow human. This isn’t about Felix right now. But people you see as your enemy, see themselves making the world a better place. They are not set out to destroy this planet. They aren’t sitting, petting a cat and twirling their mustache.

Until this site learns to treat people in a civil and respectful manner, we will only further divide and increase this tension with one another. Spreading hate over meaningless things. We don’t have long on this planet, and worrying about being victims instead of being survivors and working with each other will get us nowhere.

What Went Wrong?

I had an immense amount of hope for season 4 of Skam. And even though from the beginning, I didn’t like some stuff or was suspicious of some plotlines, I decided to trust the people who had previously made three amazing seasons of Skam to make sense of everything and to give us a beautiful and meaningful season for Sana as well.

Now that Sana’s season is basically over, however, I am more resigned to bitterness and accepting the fact that they simply couldn’t deliver. I don’t blame Julie. Not really. I did for a while, but now I just…feel nothing. The rage has worn off and what’s left is this deep sadness that comes from knowing something good has gone bad.

I’m being dramatic though! At the end of the day, it’s just a show and it doesn’t really matter. But for a second there, I thought I was watching something monumental occur; like when I watched season 3. To get a show from the perspective of a poc muslim girl in a European country seemed both risqué and innovative. But the problem with such a never-seen-before/never-explored-before concept is that, you won’t know just how wrong it can go.

For example, they could easily figure out what not to do in season three, by simply watching all the wrong moves other shows had made through the years. While Sana’s season needed delicate and thorough research to first: capture the essence of the culture and background she came from and then secondly: to use it in the fabric of the show in a natural and organic way. They also needed to have space to deal with the daily problems of muslim girls in modern Norway’s society and on top of that all, they had to make no mistakes and create interesting drama through it all.

Looking at it like that, I feel bad for Julie and the pressure she must have been under. I think considering how bad things could have gone…. they went moderately bad. And yet, ironically we can claim it’s the best of its kind because no one else has done anything remotely close to it before, either.

However, I’m not resigned to just accept this as an excuse and forget just how badly things went. Because this looks like a terrible accident to me, and no matter what I do, I find myself thinking things like “if only this part had been different”, “if only they hadn’t done that.”, if, if, if. So I’m gonna rewatch all nine episodes of Sana’s season and attempt to write a piece explaining just what I thought went wrong.

1.The pacing: Perhaps one of the most obvious things that went wrong with this season and that everyone noticed, was the pacing. This piece will be full of bitter nostalgia so let the first one be a callback to the amazing trailer. I will never forget the day we got season four’s trailer after four months of waiting. Everything about it seemed just perfect. Every detail seemed like a symbol, a throwback, a small wink to the viewer: “look! We put that there for you to find!”. And the ultimate message seemed to be that “it’s about to go down” and it will go down in a very complex way, too! A chain reaction! Millions of meta pieces were written. A thousand different takes on the chain of reaction and what each dilemma could be was written. So when the season started, we were all waiting for something to happen. We waited….and waited… and waited… and waited…. We waited for weeks! But what happened was that a tension, thick as butter, just kept on building for five weeks. And then BOOM! All hell broke loose! And yet…and yet nothing had happened yet. We actually had to wait two more weeks for something to really happen and suddenly by the eighth week, everything was resolved again! In short, the plot was one giant anticlimax! The conflict that kept on building to seem like an unavoidable fall out, a tsunami of dramatic interactions, ended up being resolved off screen. The real problem seemed to be the pacing. If the show had built the conflict in three episodes, presented us with the supposed dilemma in episode 3, tried to fix that in episode 4 and had the deeper, real conflict happen in episode 5, then had the after math in episode 6, and started to fix it in episode 7, have the characters figure it out in episode 8 and the resolve it in episode nine, then it would have made sense! Writing it down like that, it almost feels like that’s what happened! But clearly something prevented the cycle from feeling like a natural arc. Which brings us to the second problem:

2.Crowded narrative: So what was Sana’s season about? The imbalance of her Muslim/Norwegian identity? Being a muslim in an atheist country? Falling for a non-muslim boy? Falling out of touch with friends? Jealousy? Anger issues? Making up with family? Getting a Russ buss? What was this season about?

Ignoring the subplots (because there was so many of those I shiver just thinking about them!), there was three main plots for Sana in this season:

1.Finding a balance between her Norwegian identity and the people in that part of her life with the muslim/Moroccan side of her identity and the people in that part of her life.

2.the problem of being a muslim girl falling for a non-muslim boy and trying to keep true to her faith while still trying to not the love go to waste.

3.Finally making the last move in her friendship with girl squad and really being honest with them about her feelings and problems.

However soon these problems morphed into different things entirely:

1.Getting a bus and proving to everyone that she can be a part of this Norwegian tradition like any other Norwegian girl.

2. Trying to let go of the boy who was both unsuitable for her and who her best friend had feelings for.

3.Dealing with the collision of her Moroccan and Norwegian on terms that were not her own.

Each of these plots kept on getting more complicated and more tangled to a point that they were not exactly resolvable. They were instead just forced into a state of equilibrium. Which was anti climactic to say the least!

*sigh* now let’s face the subplots! There were so many subplots! And at one point, it felt like these plots will wrap up in that infamous trailer “chain reaction”. But with the season already over, it’s become abundantly clear that that was never the case!

The subplots as seen from the very first clip on are:

1. Vilde and Magnus’s relationship (initially taken as a way to introduce lesbian Vilde but ending up being about trust and cheating. Resolved in episode eight’s sixth clip)

2.Noorhelm (the most unnecessary unearthing of a clearly failed relationship that somehow got revived again…*whispers*why?! Resolved in Episode nine’s third clip)

3.Balloon squad (Sana’s brother’s group of friends and the most adorable addition to Skam this season. I’m not sure what their conflict was supposed to be but last time we saw them they were pretty happy and content so I guess resolved in the last hei briskeby video) (actually they were there to destroy stigma surrounding poc/muslim boys and trying to create empathy towards them)

4.Getting a bus (resolved in the fifth clip of episode 8)

5.Hvem er Mikael?!(Still a mystery tbh but generally accepted to be the last guy Even tried to kiss…unsuccessfully I might add. Resolved in the last clip of episode 4?!then again in last clip of episode 5 and again in the last clip of episode 7…)

6.Sana and her mother (not really a conflict point but still she started from hiding things from her to telling her stuff. Resolved in the fourth clip of episode 9)

7.Even’s past (I honestly don’t know why this had to be mentioned but whatever. Resolved in the sixth clip of episode 8)

8.Yousana (resolved with an open ending in the fifth clip of episode nine aka Sana’s last clip)

9.Elias (Sana’s brother has issues! He’s drinking, he’s fighting with his mom, he’s rebelling and maybe even questioning his faith. This wasn’t resolved! This was just mentioned and to this day I’m haunted. What is happening with Elias?)

10.PM girls (The true let down of this season. There was no need to make 50% of the 99 girls evil, but nothing we can do about that. Resolved in the fifth clip of episode 8)

11.Vilde (Vilde was acting super weird all season long! From Islamophobic behavior to spreading stuff about Sana behind her back and such. Vilde deserved better because we never saw her acknowledge her wrong behavior but somehow this was already resolved by the end of the fifth clip of episode 8)

12.The syng fight (supposedly a climax for the other plots and subplots but it’s an even bigger mystery than all the plots combined. I don’t know anything about it! Nothing made sense but apparently already resolved by the sixth clip of episode 8)

13.Jamilla and Sana’s friendship (resolved in the fifth clip of episode 7)

14.Hacking and cyber-bulling (resolved by the fifth clip of episode 8)

15.Sana finishing her prayer (resolved in the last clip of episode 9)

I…I just think there was too much happening!

All this aside, this season had one giant problem. Like a zit on the nose. Big, red, angry and full of gross pus. And that is the third problem…

3.Noora: To think I started watching the show for Noora! Oh Noora, Noora, Noora! I am so sick of Noora! The woman, the mirror, the foil, the ever-present heroin of Skam! It was so easy for Eva and Isak to fade into the backgrounds of the seasons that were not theirs but for some unfathomable reason, this is just not going to work out for Noora!

While Noora’s mirror presence in season 3 was dignified and reasonable, the ever-changing mirror/foil/symbol/metaphor/object of hate or jealousy-take your pick-  presence that she had this season was stifling! Present in almost all clips or at least the long clips, with a very tangible presence and a very lingering subplot, Noora mirror-foilingly(!) stole the show from Sana. Here’s how she did that.

In the very first clip of season 4, it’s mentioned that Noora is still not over William while he has apparently moved on to dating a new person. This sets the main plot into action, by girl squad trying to find someone for her to move on with. Which leads to a cute tête-à-tête between her and Yousef. But this is quickly side-tracked by Sana wittingly telling Noora to avoid muslim boys.

So basically, Noora and her boy trouble were the spark that started the season. This later affected other plots such as the Vilde+Magnus one, the Even backstory, Yousana and balloon squad.

Soon after this, we get a long clip in which Noora explained-with a painstakingly slow pace- why she really left William in London. An explanation that nobody needed and that just created the opportunity to restart an old storyline despite it being over for months. Long story short, from trying to help Noora move on to Noora kissing Yousef, from Sana being jealous of Noora to hacking and a lot of tears, basically this whole season was a chain of Sana’s reactions to Noora’s actions. The only plot that was there from the very first clip to the second to last one. The only story that evolved and developed, right beneath our noses while we were busy wondering about more important things like: “whether Sana will ever talk to her friends or not?” (she won’t) or “what the syng fight was about?” (nothing important!) or “what really happened in Bakka?” (What’s Bakka?!) or “Is Vilde lesbian?” (no!) or “will Yousana make it?” (eh…). And while we were busying ourselves with these silly small plots around the season, Noora and her epic romantic adventures were developing steadfastly towards a big climax that was delivered in the last clip of episode 8. A clip that was formerly reserved for a very important and dramatic plot twist in the main’s life.

So while all those never-explored-before plots were all just dismissed, the same old story of Noora got to be the main plot of the season. And that’s fine! But when they said we were getting a Sana season, it just led us to believe Sana would be a bigger part of her own main plotline.

I always thought Sana was the ultimate main for Skam, because in the past three seasons, she was the single character that held a real sway over the plot. She delivered important speeches and pushed the plot in a whole new direction with each of these talks. I thought she was ultimately the character we were meant to get to know. But I was wrong. Because Skam was always about Noora.

4.Bad research: While we all know that the authenticity and uniqueness that is provided in Skam’s plots is curtsey of the interviews they did with actual teenagers and the inspirations they took from their real life experiences; it is undeniable that the main reason season three became such a success was because they sought out the counsel of a professional. While we don’t know if they didn’t really do this for this season, it at least feels like they went in blind to write it. We know they spoke with muslim teenagers, but perhaps it would have been better to try to familiarize themselves with Sana’s situation on a sociological and psychological level as well. Maybe have a religion expert on the show? Or a sociologist who had studied the social disorders that second generation immigrants have to deal with? Someone who could guide them into writing a story that was perhaps a bit more respectful to these children’s experiences rather than a dramatic roller coaster of unexplainable events that led to nothing but drama.

5.Scattered storytelling: The most respectful way to put this is to say that (as mentioned before) since there were too many subplots happening in the season, none of these stories got to be told in a linear way. The stories got told in snippets, set too far apart that plots got lost or complicated simply because they had to wait in line for weeks, to take up where they left off last time we heard about them!

Take Yousana for instance, one week we see them talk, then for a whole week we hear nothing then we see Yousef kiss Noora. Then again we get a clip about Sana moving on but two weeks later, she talks about him again and decides to give it a chance.

For another, Sana’s faith. While initially it seemed as though we might see her practice her faith in some way, to actually normalize Islam, that plot was forgotten half way through the season and only got mentioned again in the very last clip.

Consistency was not the strong suit of this season for sure. Perhaps because this was the last season. Maybe they just ran out of a good way to see things through or to connect the things they wanted to connect.

But no matter how you will try to tell yourself that there was a good reason for the things that happened this season, you can’t deny how unfair this season was to Sana.

Before the season started, there were so many people talking about how a Sana-centered season was “needed” at times like these. But political climate and social anomalies aside, this season not only didn’t help any of those noble causes it was supposed to serve, but also pushed its narrator aside in favor of a more sought after story that only had dramatic value.

Together

So this was totally supposed to be characters’ reactions to Jon and Dany being in love but it suddenly got really long and really angsty and I don’t know why. So I apologize in advance. I’m sorry.

Not taken from one specific prompt; it’s been on my list for a while.

Hopefully this makes up for not posting anything yesterday lol

Tyrion

Tyrion had hoped that the King and the Queen would get along.

He did not, however, think that Jon would persuade Dany to take leave of all of her senses and leave for the North with her dragons. He might not have allowed Jon to come, if that had been the case.

They were in love with each other. Of course they were. Neither of them would ever admit it but every time they were in the same room they always ended up eye fucking. He’d learned about eye fucking when he was very young; when couples could undress each other with their eyes-but he’d never seen any two people perfect it like Dany and Jon.

Then again, he supposed they both flared towards the dramatic once in a while.

I suppose he just looks at you longingly like he’s hoping for a successful military alliance. She’d rolled her eyes and turned back to the fire but he’d seen the way her eyes sparkled. Gods, she had it bad for him.

A political marriage, perhaps. Good for both of their kingdoms and good for them. He would have brought it up, if Jon hadn’t left. It took every ounce of persuasion he had in him to keep her from going after him; she was always a bit impulsive, a bit too eager to throw herself into dangerous situations…but it was all he could do to stop her, to remind her how valuable she was. There were other Starks but no other Targaryens; who would be left behind to break the wheel if she was gone?

As soon as the raven arrived he’d known he would lose her. He’d tried to hide it from her but she found it, of course; she’d read it, back rigid and eyes flashing back and forth across the paper, and then she’d turned and gone upstairs-coming back down a few minutes later in her winter coat. She looked like an angel. But even angels could die. Even their love stories could fail.

He’d pleaded with her, but she’d barely been listening. Her mind had been made up and she was already beyond the Wall with the man she loved. He knew how hard it was to sit back and do nothing when the people you loved were in trouble-but she wouldn’t listen. She displayed the same tenacity that had gotten her so far on so little, she and the dragons had flown off, and he hadn’t been able to stop her. He couldn’t help wondering if it was the last time he’d see her.

In that moment he couldn’t help but hate Jon Snow for having such pretty hair, or for being such a decent man. And he hated himself for not realizing sooner that what he thought was just a crush had turned into all consuming love.

They were so young. Too young for this. He’d seen young lovers, fearless and ready to take on the world, only to die in each other’s arms. And dead heroes were no good to anyone. There was no one in his life that he could think about dying for-maybe his brother, or the Queen, but he didn’t want to sleep with them. His lovers were shifting faces; many of them he barely remembered. By now he knew that reckless displays of love and bravery rarely paid off.

He should have planned better.

But they were in love and there was no stopping it. All he could do was wait and deal with whatever fallout came with it. Because there would be fallout; there always was, when it came to matters of the heart.

Davos

The first time Davos realized that the King in the North and the Queen in the South were in love, they’d both nearly died.

For a while Davos hadn’t been sure he could make it work. The two monarchs barely tolerated each other. But then, slowly but surely, they’d warmed to each other. And now they were…something else. Now they loved each other in a way he’d seen very few people ever love each other-not just for political convenience.

Jon was stubborn, of course, but Davos knew these things-he’d seen enough people fall in love to know when one felt the first stirrings of desire. And he’d known that Jon was in trouble the second they’d walked into the throne room and seen the Dragon Queen on her stone throne, exotically beautiful. Any man would have fallen in love with her instantly-and even Jon wasn’t immune to her charms.

Davos had prepared for every other eventuality, up to and including a battle at sea should they become prisoners on Dragonstone. He hadn’t been prepared for her, for Jon to look at her the way he did.

Even then, they were already lost. I’ve noticed you looking at her good heart.

Jon had stubbornly refused to talk about her. He changed the subject ever time Davos brought her up, every time he tried to coerce him to focus. And they were falling for each other, hard. He could tell, in the way their glares were softened at the edges with curiosity, tempered by kindness. When Jon escorted her to her place at the long wooden table for their first meal together and the way they’d tried not to meet each other’s eyes. The one time Dany had dropped one of her carved dragon figurines in the war room and he’d immediately bent down to grab it for her, and how their hands had touched for just a little longer than necessary.

He’d never thought that he would like the Dragon Queen either; she was too foreign, and she’d taken the castle that he’d come to think of as Stannis’s and make it her own. But he found that he did; she may have been the most powerful woman in the world, but she never brought it up. She never exhibited her power unnecessarily. And the people who followed her…they followed her because of who she was, not because of her name. She was kind in a way that Stannis had never been-but her spine was iron, and unyielding when necessary. She and Jon made a good match; ice and fire, neither one smothering the other but flourishing as equals.

It had broken his heart when Jon had volunteered to go on the wight hunt and he’d seen the look on the Queen’s face, the way she’d tried to call him back. Don’t do it, you blithering idiot. Don’t you see how much she wants you to stay? Don’t you know how much you don’t want to lose her?

Which was, he suspected, why he’d gone in the first place.

But he’d never expected, even in his wildest dreams, for the Queen to come after them with all three of her dragons…and return with two. He hadn’t had to ask what happened; they were all shell shocked and Daenerys looked devastated. But she didn’t lock herself in her room; she waited outside for days, weathering the snow and cold and squinting into the middle distance as if she could somehow draw Jon back to him.

And inexplicably, she did.

She never left his side in the days he was unconscious; she brought in a chair and sat next to him, not speaking, not crying-only changing his bandages when the occasion required it and sleeping in odd bursts of two or three hours with her head on the edge of the bed. She looked younger in sleep, more innocent and vulnerable. They both did.

It made him want to protect them, to spirit them far away to somewhere they could live out the happy ending they deserved. But they were heroes, and he knew there was a good chance their love story would never get a happy ending. But he would do his damnedest to try.

There was love in their eyes, whenever they looked at each other. Pure, unadulterated love. And he knew they were lucky to have found it, if only for such a short time.

Missandei

Missandei realized that her Queen’s…preoccupation with Jon Snow wasn’t just a passing fancy when she didn’t want to talk about him during their morning routine (a bath and braids).

When Dany had known Daario, she’d talked about him every morning after she slept with him. He was light and funny; she didn’t take him too seriously and Missandei had always listened with interest when she talked about their nightly hijinks. But she never did, with Jon. In fact she didn’t tell Missandei that they were even having sex until they reached Winterfell (Missandei pretended to be surprised; everyone had known since the first time it happened). And soon she stopped wanting to talk about Jon altogether, as if she wanted to keep all of the sensations to herself. She and Dany had always been the best of friends; sometimes it felt strange sharing the Queen with someone else. But Missandei had always liked Jon; he was like Grey Worm, strong but caring, overcoming adversity after adversity. So they didn’t talk about their crushes; sometimes they would exchange glances, now and then, to convey all that there was to convey. But mostly Missandei just made sure she kept the sheets washed, in case the Queen ever invited a visitor back to her room.

Once she asked her what love felt like, what she felt when she looked at Grey Worm. Missandei hadn’t known what to say, or how to explain the whirlwind of feelings-the sadness, the love, the urge to protect him from anything and everything that could do him harm…in the end the only thing she could say was “the way you look at Jon.” And somehow Dany seemed to understand.

She noticed the direwolf pin before anyone else did; Dany wore it on her shoulder, tucked under the collar of her shirt where it wasn’t noticeable. But there it was, bright and shiny as if (and she suspected this was the case) Jon had it made for her especially.

It felt like a promise-a dangerous promise, but a promise just the same. A promise that one day, when this was all over, they would have a future together.

Hate is Bad You Guys

I wanna preface this with a quick disclaimer - this isn’t directed at anyone specific, I love all of you guys and I’m posting this out of concern for our community as a whole. If you feel called out or hurt by this post, I’m sorry. *hugs*

Brace yourselves though, because we need to talk about this.

The anti-Butch Hartman spree that’s been going on? Guys, you need to ease off. A lot.

Somewhere along the line it became cool to push the Butch hate as far as possible? It’s treated as some kind of joke or something that’s acceptable because hey, ‘we all think Butch sucks’, when really it isn’t. What’s worse is that these actions have been met with positive responses. It’s becoming socially normalized, and that is not okay. That’s actually scary as crap.

Take a deep breath and step back. Look at what you’re doing. This is bullying. It’s not cool, and it’s not funny.

Even if you feel your dislike is justified, treating another human being in such a way is wrong– and unhealthy. It’s creating an angry atmosphere in the phandom that really saddens me as a long-time member. We all have our criticisms, and criticism is a good and valid part of creative communities, but there’s a distinction between taking issue with someone’s creative work and attacking the person themselves.

You don’t have to like Butch Hartman. Criticize his actions as a creator, have a discussion, even make jokes about it. But please, remember to treat him with basic respect. Don’t get nasty. Don’t be mean. Don’t stalk him looking for weaknesses to pick at. He may be a public figure as a creator and semi-celebrity, but he’s also a person.

Tumblr is a place that likes to talk about safe spaces - rejecting hateful speech, accepting those who are different and flawed, giving people a chance for acceptance – but ironically there’s a real struggle in extending that openness to people outside of the Tumblr subculture.

Come on guys, we’re better than this. You aren’t helping anyone this way. Hate doesn’t erase hate. It never does.

The Phandom has so much creativity and diversity of style and people and topics. We’ve built so much together, had a lot of fun and weathered all kinds of ups and downs over the decade-plus this show has been in existence–an existence, I might add, we owe to Butch Hartman.

So let it go, please. Let’s keep the tag (and our phandom) a positive space!

But Guys Just Think:

Alistair doodling Mr. and Mrs. Theirin on pieces of paper when he was alone once he started having a crush on his Warden companion, and being extra sarcastic to her because he didn’t know how to deal with those feelings, then kicking himself afterwards for being such an idiot, and Maferath’s hairy arse she’s sarcastic back she’s perfect.

Zevran giving the Warden sidelong glances when he thought they weren’t paying attention because he was confused at the emotions he was feeling towards them, thinking that if he squinted at them long enough he would come back to reality, but finding that he didn’t want to go back to reality as long as they were by his side and oh shit what had he gotten himself into.

Anders finding himself smiling in the midst of working in his clinic because Hawke drifted into his thoughts, frowning after because where in the Void had that come from, then having an internal panic attack not only because he feared what his affections would bring but what it would do to him if Hawke didn’t return those feelings, and he wanted to tear his hair out because it’s just so ugh.

Fenris trying to ward off Hawke’s blatant flirting with scowls and glares, but knows that they’re forced and he just doesn’t know how to make it stop, but finds that he doesn’t want it to because it makes him happy, and since that’s one thing he’s not sure he’s ever felt, he doesn’t want it to leave, so he lets it continue.

Sebastian straining to swallow because his throat is tight due to Hawke’s close proximity, then muttering a prayer under his breath because Maker, he just wants her closer to him, so close that he can feel her own heartbeat and see if it’s racing just as much as his was because sweet Andraste he couldn’t deny that he liked her.

Cullen growling and grumbling because he couldn’t keep up with the Herald’s antics, and Maker’s breath his neck was going to become raw because he rubbed it so much with every smile she shot his way and every time he heard her laugh and he needed to just focus on his work but he couldn’t, because she was a vital member of those he worked with and he couldn’t help but silently admit that he liked it that way.

Iron Bull laying with the Inquisitor in his arms, and he’s staring at them, memorizing every curve and angle of their body and shit, he knows he’s falling for them but the question is if they’re falling for him back and in that moment he feels not fear, exactly, but anxiety, because for once in his life he really fucking hopes that they do so he can just get on with things but with them at his side and vice versa.

Dorian huffing because he finds that he’s reading his book but none of the words sink in, and he has to reread it two, three more times and fasta vass it’s the damn Inquisitor he keeps thinking about, and it’s worse because he finds himself pretending to read his book when he hears the Inquisitor approaching so it looks like he’s not acutely aware of their presence.

Blackwall keeping an eye out for things that remind him of the Herald, everything from a pretty wildflower or a rock smoothed and shaped by water, then creeps into her tent and places it on her pillow or in her pack, and anxiously waits for when she sees them, hiding his glowing smile under his beard when she finally does.

Solas shaking his head as he tried to clear his thoughts of the Herald’s scent, of the poems he unknowingly composed about her until he found himself reciting them in his head whenever he looked at her, and the feeling of companionship she brought to him was so wrong because it was his fault she was in such a position, but he can’t stop, and fenhedis lasa his stomach fluttered with the barest of touches she gives him.

Bonus:

Varric setting his quill down because the Inquisitor’s coming his way, and he knows he’s lying to himself when he says that he just likes chatting with them, that it’ll be more for his story, but as he’s describing them, writing their very essence down on parchment, he finds that only a lover could have depicted them the way he had, and well, shit, he knows he’s a gonner, but he’s not gonna be telling anybody about it anytime soon.

a day in the life.

established dean/cas, hunter husbands, for @honorreid. thank you for donating to the Team Trash Brigade GISHWHES fundraiser! want to commission me for something of your own? click here for more info.

Castiel sleeps like the dead. It’s an unfortunate truth.

Dean rolls over only half awake because someone has stolen all the blankets, and he blindly seeks out warmth and comfort too early in the morning. Castiel is all but a statue beside him in bed though: on his back, comforter curled over his mouth with just his nose uncovered. He sleeps soundly and doesn’t stir when Dean nudges him, tries to squeeze his way under an arm or against his chest. Dean snuffles – not quite a whine – and Castiel goes so far as to kick him under the blankets, closing his eyes defiantly tighter.

Dean sighs. Time to get up, then.

If Loqi and Ravus Were Party Members... (Banter)

@chocobokun @fangsoflightening

I feel like alot of people mentioned Loqi banter at some point. So here! :D Have some Loqi banter!

Gladiolus: “Kind of ironic that we have two Nifs traveling with us.”
Prompto: “Uh, yeah… Weird for sure, I guess.”
Gladiolus: “Remind me again why we decided they can come with us?”
Ignis: “Well, according to Noct, they could prove to be valuable allies to us along the way. That, and apparently General Tummelt has some ‘business’ with the Marshal.”
Loqi: “It seems someone is capable of understanding English enough to get what I was saying.”
Ravus: “It is only for a brief moment, General Tummelt. These moments of genius do not last.”

Gladiolus: *scoffs* “So Peanut’s got a grudge, huh?”
Loqi: “Peanut? I am Brigadier General Loqi Tummelt of House Tummelt, Magitek Infantry Specialist and-”
Noctis: “Peanut actually is a good nickname for him.”
Ignis: “It has a charming ring to it.”
Loqi: “What?! I told you, my name is not-”
Prompto: “Hey, Peanut! Try to keep up with us!”
Ravus: “Yes… You should not squander time, Peanut.”
Loqi: “HOW DARE ALL OF YOU.”

Noctis: “What the hell?! He summoned an entire mech to fight the behemoth?!”
Ravus: “He enjoys feeling tall.”

Loqi: “Allow me to end your suffering, Lucian…!”
Ignis: “Why thank you, General. I always did find cutting onions to be rather bothersome.”
Loqi: *tearing up* “It’s the least I can do to try aiding…!”

Gladiolus: “Hey, Peanut. How’d you ever get such a high rank in the Nif army anyways? Aren’t you younger than us?”
Loqi: “I fought until I conquered what obstacles came in my way – regardless of the challenge.”
Gladiolus: “Yet you can’t even climb into the off-road Regalia without struggling.”
Loqi: “OKAY, LISTEN HERE, YOU-”

Noctis: “So what’s your deal with Cor anyways? What did he ever do to you to get you so pissed off?”
Loqi: “Why would I tell you my private affairs and conflicts? King or not, you don’t have the right to know.”
Prompto: “I bet it was because Cor called him a pipsqueak~”
Loqi: “He had no right to refer to me as such! I am Brigadier General-”
Noctis: “Yup. It was the pipsqueak thing.”

Transparant Crystalline Solid (2)

Bucky Barnes x (enhanced)Reader

Notes: (the usual) troubled pasts, swearing, smut, fluff, angst/heartbreak.

A/N: All new! I had inspiration slap me straight across the face, and here we are! This one might hurt a little, but y’all know me, I’m a sucker for a happy ending.

Summary: Bucky has charm, looks, a great smile, and he knows how to talk to a lady. The thing is, he does know it. Bucky’s a womaniser, there’s no doubt about it. But when he lays eyes upon the newest addition to the team, he might’ve found a reason to change his ways. Unfortunately, he knows he’s a coward, and he knows change isn’t easy. Lying.. is so much easier.

“Asgard?” Bucky gapes at his friend and she rolls her eyes.

“Are you just gonna repeat everything I say? Yes, Asgard. Apparently, she tripped into the multiverse by accident, and ended up in Yotemheim. She was attacked by frost-giants, before Thor and his comrades saved her. They tried to heal her from her.. ‘affliction’ but nothing worked. Even Odin wasn’t strong enough to help her. They say she nearly froze over all of Asgard before they decided to help her control her ability, it was the only way to contain her”

Requested by @affectos – a correction to this post that was published prior to the games’ release.

Throughout the generations, there have always been pokémon that supposedly originated in space: Clefairy, Lunatone, and Beheeyem, for example. Surprisingly, Minior is not one of these extraterrestrials: it did not come from space. Instead, according to the pokédex, it is formed inside the atmosphere.

Strong impacts can knock it out of its shell. This Pokémon was born from mutated nanoparticles. (Moon: Meteor Form)

Originally making its home in the ozone layer, it hurtles to the ground when the shell enclosing its body grows too heavy. (Sun: Meteor Form)

The ozone layer is in the stratosphere, the second layer in Earth’s atmosphere, from around 10-50 kilometers above Earth’s surface. Many airplanes fly in the stratosphere: it’s hardly considered outer space.

Still, Minior is classified as the Meteor Pokémon, so if it’s not from space, what makes it a meteor? The definition of a meteor is “a small body of matter from outer space that enters the earth’s atmosphere.” Generally, they are debris from a larger celestial body, such as a comet, asteroid, or planetoid, that crossed Earth’s orbit some time ago. Earth runs into the debris stream, picking up the particles in Earth’s atmosphere. The friction between the object (a meteoroid) and the atmosphere causes the object to burn up, manifesting itself as a shooting star (a meteor). The few that make it to the ground are called meteorites.

Minior isn’t from outer space, so by definition Minior is not a meteor. Instead, Minior is a precipitate, a dust particle floating in the atmosphere that clumps together with other particles to grow. Rocky precipitates like Minior are often the seeds for rain clouds (see Bronzong for more detail). However, instead of collecting water until it gets too heavy to stay in the air, Minior collects other dust particles in its crust until it is too heavy to star in the air.

Interestingly enough, volcanic activity (found in abundance in the Alola region), can add very specific types of precipitates to the atmosphere: the colorful sulfates, or chemicals with at least one sulfur atom and 4 oxygen atoms. Here are some examples:

(From left to right: Cobalt Sulfate, Ammonium-Cerium Sulfate, Nickel Sulfate, Iron Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, and Chromium Sulfate)

The cores of Miniors, then, are likely different kinds of sulfates! The crusts can be anything and everything else it picks up along the way: clay, soot, dust, pollution, all which are very common in the atmosphere everywhere in the world.

Minior does not come from space, so it is not a meteor. Instead, the core is a sulfate precipitate, found commonly in Alola due to the volcanic activity there. Other particles from the atmosphere stick to the core to form its crust.
