lights on the landing

SEASONS.

Spring is but a moment in time,
When our youth doth bloom and our light doth shine,
When the morning dew doth kiss the land,
And you walk with me and take my hand.

On Summer days we kiss and dance,
The nights are ours; filled with romance,
Oh Summer days, please do not leave,
For when you go, our hearts shall grieve.

Oh Autumn days, so wild and chill,
When gold dust from the trees doth spill,
When the wind blows gently through our hair,
And we sing of love, in the woodlands fair.

And from the sky the Winter falls,
And we dress the trees and deck the halls,
We climb the stairs,to our bed to sleep,
And we pray to God, our souls to keep.

Soon the Spring will come again;
Wild flowers  kissed by Springtime rain,
We will rise and shine to greet the morn;
Embrace and kiss, in the Springtime dawn.

Scattered Thoughts

“You could call her perilous because she’s so strong in herself. You could dash yourself to pieces on her, like a ship on a rock, or drown yourself in her like a Hob-kitten in a river, but neither rock nor river would be to blame.”

Classicat #29: Galadri-yowl, from The Lord of the Purrings and the SIlMewwrillian by J.R.R Tolkitten

Galadri-Yowl the Kitty of Light bears one of the Three Elf-Rings of Meower, rules over the land of Softlorien, and is older than the the moon.

Not to make light of the everything that is the No Man’s Land sequence, but one of my favorite moments in Wonder Woman is a small, nearly forgettable moment, and the one I would argue at its core is Most Diana™️. After Veld is liberated and before they’re getting ready to go to the Gala, Charlie finally falters, expressing his self-doubt at joining them after choking earlier.

And Diana - kind, good, darling Diana - she smiles and laughs, not in a way that mocks or belittles, but rather expresses a purity and sincerity.

“Oh Charlie,” she breathes, “Then who will sing for us?”

With such a simple, seemingly innocent gesture, she reminds us of her true superpower. Yes, she’s strong. She’s a fierce warrior, she can fight like a badass and make us cry while watching her deflect bullets and swing a sword, but more than that, more than making us believe in her, she makes us believe in ourselves

Wonder Woman inspires and reminds us of the goodness within; of our own value, strength, and significance.  She reminds Charlie of his own worth. That he is more than an eye behind a lens and a finger above a trigger. That a moment of weakness doesn’t define us, any more than our pasts, and she lifts him out of that insecurity effortlessly. - via @counterpunches (x)

Diana, man.

Oh

I finished reading Lost Light #7 half an hour ago and had to scribble this very quick for some reason, huh, I wonder why

Not a spoiler, don’t worry, especially without context!

The Signs as Beautiful Things in the Universe
  • Aries: Two galaxies colliding together, the arms of them tangling up creating a cascade of stars in a bright disarray
  • Taurus: Stardust compressing together to form a new star after years of its clouds making forms you can only hope to identify as shapes
  • Gemini: A light hole and a black hole next to each other, eating and creating spacetime all at once until you cannot tell what is destruction and what is creation anymore
  • Cancer: A solar flare that launches beyond its star system, the threads of an alien sun tangling outer planets as it dances throughout the universe
  • Leo: A storm on a planet with such a radically different atmosphere, that the rain is shaded rainbow and the clouds eternally colored sunset, this hurricane having lasted for over a thousand years
  • Virgo: Sitting atop a rogue planet which does not have a solar system to call home, watching the most perfect view of the stars that has ever been before it finally reaches a star, experiencing the first sunrise in this planet's three-billion year history
  • Libra: Sitting atop a moon that orbits a planet made of diamond, so when the sun lines up, it shines brighter than even galaxies
  • Scorpio: The planets of a system with over a thousand satellites align, seeing one of the few pieces of perfect symmetry in the universe
  • Sagittarius: Sitting on a planet where the rain is made of glass, the gravity being light enough so it won't hurt you when it lands, the sunset reflecting off each of the slow-falling pieces into a cascade of colors
  • Capricorn: Planets that orbit a black hole perfectly, moving slower than the rest of the universe but also meaning they last longer, allowing them to flourish for near eternity
  • Aquarius: Watching a meteor that's been travelling for eons so large it picks up smaller satellites along the way, travelling in an endless vortex across a thousand alien night skies
  • Pisces: The center of a point in the universe where colors unimaginable surround you, the stars highlighting cosmic dust that makes you feel like you're not watching clouds, but celestial titans with no form
