#BendyHTtakeover Recap

((so I’m gonna compile all the Good Shit from the #BendyHTtakeover event into one post okay here we goooo))

  • Sammy has been writing music for most of his life, “from a young age […] tunes would pop into my head, [writing music] was the only logical step. ;)”
  • Willow Weep For Me” is Sammy’s favorite song, he apparently considers it modern. what time period does this game take place in jfc
  • Sammy made a handful of puns during the event. Puns are great.
  • Apparently he liked Bacon Soup at one time, but “it kind of lost its luster after a bit.. But you’d have to be crazy to not love chocolate cake!”
  • Putting on pants is apparently a struggle for him.
  • Someone asked if Norman was behind the organ from chapter 2. He responded with “The organ… I don’t know what you mean. Although Norman, our projectionist, he was always very bright..” which might be a hint to something, a compliment, or another pun - who knows.
  • An ad for a Little Mermaid bedspread got posted in the middle of the event, probably on accident. Someone joked “Sammy’s favorite Disney Princess is Ariel, confirmed.” All he had to say was something was amiss with the post, and the bed looked comfortable.
  • Sammy still writes and sings music when he’s not praising Bendy, and has written “so many dozens of songs! So many! When you’ve been in this business as long as I have… you’re quite busy.” He also said “Perhaps you shall hear them someday.” pls
  • His clearest memory of the studio besides the ink pump is “a whistling sound, a vague melody.. with a sinister purpose.”
  • When asked for advice on composing music, he responded “Music is all about layers. Rich and lush. Practice, my friend. That’s what it’s all about!”
  • Wally’s catchphrase is apparently contagious. Someone asked “Sammy, what would happen if Wally lost his keys again?” To which he responded, “That Wally! That man can’t ever keep his things in order! If I didn’t know better I’d say his mind was wayyyyy out of here!”
  • Headcanon confirmed, “Sheep Songs” is Sammy’s favorite song he wrote for the Bendy cartoons.
  • He wears the mask to “resemble the most perfect form I know!”.
  • He might not be able to see without the mask as well, someone later asked “how do you see with that mask?” and he replied “how do you see without yours?”. Might have just been a joke, or confirming the “ink monsters can see through Bendy’s eyes in cutouts and posters” theory.
  • Sammy thinks Susie is “A charming woman.. quite… charming.. I recall only her face… that.. smile.”
  • He took some selfies for us.
  • Someone asked how he felt after what happened to him at the end of chapter 2. “I can’t recall any injustice on the part of the Ink Demon. He is.. most fair.” Apparently he’s fine with being pancake’d.
  • “Who’s better? Bendy, Alice, or Boris?” “There is only our lord Bendy.”
  • What makes Bendy so worshipable is that “[He] knows all and sees all. He is the hope we’ve been waiting for!”
  • “The last I can recall… I had a flowing cascade of brown hair.. I miss it so… or was it blonde? No matter.. it was splendid.”
  • He regrets never going to Coney Island.
  • Someone asked what he thinks of Alice “Ohhh such a voice! So.. heavenly! So beautiful!” Tied with his earlier comment about Susie, this makes Samsie shippers such as myself rejoice.
  • He is honored that people write songs about him, and Bendy.
  • He doesn’t only make puns, he memes. According to him, “if you have the proper training, mayonnaise IS an instrument.”
  • His favorite instrument is the banjo, he was always fond of it and it “plucks the right chord with me”
  • He thinks bacon soup can be good, “it’s best when aged for a while I hear.”
  • He’s happy Joey let him name the song “Sammy Jam” after himself.
  • Someone asked if he had a special someone before becoming an ink monster. His answer was a flustered “Someone.. special? … I.. well.. there was.. this one. I almost remember.”
  • He doesn’t quite know where Joey is, but he thinks he’s off raising his salary somewhere.
  • He doodles Bendy sometimes.

Is there a pot of gold at the end of a green aurora? Not sure, but these dancing green lights provide a spectacular view fitting for the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.

This stunning aurora was captured by NASA astronaut Jeff Williams during his 2016 mission on the International Space Station.

Even though auroras are best seen at night, they are actually caused by the sun. The sun sends us more than just heat a light…it sends lots of other energy and small particles toward Earth. The protective magnetic field around Earth shields us from most of the energy and particles. Sometimes, the particles interact with gases in our atmosphere resulting in beautiful displays of light in the sky. Oxygen gives off green and red light, while nitrogen glows blue and purple.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Captain’s Log | September 15, 2017

The end is now upon us. Within hours of the posting of this entry, Cassini will have burned up in the atmosphere of Saturn … a kiloton explosion, spread out against the sky in a pyrrhic display of light and fire, a dazzling flash to signal the dying essence of a lone emissary from another world. As if the myths of old had foretold the future, the great patriarch will consume his child. At that point, that golden machine, so dutiful and strong, will enter the realm of history, and the toils and triumphs of this long march will be done.

For those of us appointed long ago to undertake this journey, it has been a taxing 3 decades, requiring a level of dedication that I could not have predicted, and breathless times when we sprinted for the duration of a marathon. But in return, we were blessed to spend our lives working and playing in that promised land beyond the Sun.

My imaging team members and I were especially blessed to serve as the documentarians of this historic epoch and return a stirring visual record of our travels around Saturn and the glories that we found there. This is our gift to the citizens of planet Earth.

So, it is with both wistful, sentimental reflection and a boundless sense of pride in a commitment met and a job well done that I now turn to face this looming, abrupt finality.

It is doubtful we will soon see a mission as richly suited as Cassini return to this ringed world and shoulder a task as colossal as we have borne over the last 27 years.

To have served on this mission has been to live the rewarding life of an explorer of our time, a surveyor of distant worlds. We wrote our names across the sky. We could not have asked for more.

I sign off now, grateful in knowing that Cassini’s legacy, and ours, will include our mutual roles as authors of a tale that humanity will tell for a very long time to come.

In light of an unfortunate display of ignorance I witnessed today, let me take a moment to make something blatantly clear, for anybody that needs it:

-making fun of someone for using a fidget spinner, to the point of them displaying obvious embarrassment and shame, is disgusting.

-when you say things like “Oh my GOD, I hate those spinners! They’re so annoying, what are they even for haha” you are being willfully ignorant. Spinners are marketed towards people with anxiety, PTSD, OCD, ADD/ADHD, Autistic people, and many other people with brains different from yours that need an outlet to focus, relax, relieve sensory-related issues, and many other things that yours does automatically. Most of the ones I see advertised even specify “For anxiety/stress/ADHD/Autism/etc”

-Making fun of someone for other behaviors such as rocking, hand flapping, echolalia, hair twirling, skin picking, hair pulling, etc is in fact, also a shitty thing of you to do. It’s also unnecessary, cruel, and humiliates the person who is doing those things.

-Don’t make fun of people who use fidget spinners. Don’t make fun of people who stim. I don’t give a rat’s ass if you think it’s unnecessary, or it “looks weird” or it “looks gross.” Don’t do it. You KNOW what you’re doing. I know what you’re doing. I’ve had it, I’m done.

Aurora

An aurora, sometimes referred to as a polar lights or northern lights, is a natural light display in the sky, predominantly seen in the high latitude (Arctic and Antarctic) regions. Auroras are produced when the magnetosphere is sufficiently disturbed by the solar wind that the trajectories of charged particles in both solar wind and magnetospheric plasma, mainly in the form of electrons and protons, precipitate them into the upper atmosphere (thermosphere / exosphere), where their energy is lost.

Death Note and Perspective

When I first watched Death Note as a teenager, I thought Light Yagami was this untouchable, incredibly mature character.

Re-watching the series now, all I can think is “Yup, definitely a teenager”.

And THAT is the mark of a good writer! Ohba did a great job with Light and here’s why. To teenagers, Light seems extremely mature (which, to that age group, he is) but to older people the immaturity (Particularly his views on justice and how it should be handled) is on full display. Light is a three-dimensional, complex character who presents himself differently depending on the perspective of the audience with both interpretations being equally valid to that audience.

Red leaves traffic light
The “red leaves traffic light” displays the signs for “proceed,” “attention,” and “stop” with a maple tree. The green maple tree turns yellow and then red just like the autumn tints. In this way, this traffic light evokes the change of the seasons. Instead of becoming upset because the light is red, let’s think about nature and drive safely and pressure free.

The Fixed Signs - Static Symphony
Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius

Time stops when the cosmos is fixed. The fixed signs anchor the middle of each season, the world was spinning, weather was changing and in all of the chaos they became stationary. The fixed signs can experience the still moment in time, hibernating during the peak of the season when its radiance is most potent. Taurus is spring’s fixed sign, when the roots touching the bottom of the earth begin to shoot, when life has stopped for just a short moment so we can appreciate the beauty. Leo is summer’s fixed sign, a literal hotplate that emits solar light, the striking display by the heated summer sign, sitting high and fixed in the sky emitting beautiful, although burning light. Scorpio is autumn’s fixed sign, the season when the leaves begin to fall and prepare for a wintery death. In this way the Scorpio reflects the dying art of the season, anchoring down so profusely that she experiences the melancholic daze of the fall. Aquarius is the winter sign of the fixed signs, in between the two supernals of Capricorn and Pisces, stilling her environment with sterile intellect so wisdom becomes frozen like the snowflakes she immerses herself in. The fixed signs can be unrelenting and likely self ruling. They are attached to their own convictions because they have spent so long in still reflection. Their nature is largely stubborn and difficult to compromise with, but this is because they commonly develop remarkable faith in themselves and their own beliefs. They identify strongly with their convictions, so they cannot be flippantly mutable and simply change the mind. It’s a representation of their very being. The fixed mind is hidden by a thick valley, it sinks into the hollows so every mineral of truth, wisdom, and authenticity can be extracted. This can create a captor situation, because the individual can feel so bound, trapped, unable to breathe, and incapable of releasing the fixed energies. Fixed energy must be released harmoniously with intention and mindfulness, a conscious sublimation from an internal source of energy that easily accumulates and contaminates. The fixed signs experience frustration and temperamental reactivity. They can feel too full of energy and over excited until the state of anxious, and then become overly lethargic and self isolating. This is why their energy must be released with intention, or they often become trapped by compulsion and addiction, because a fixed sign will always return to what they know works. Fixed people are capable of substantial inner development and wisdom. They can develop an intimacy with everything, that becomes a mutual exchange of energy, this is why fixed individuals can be surprisingly sensitive socially and become easily drained. The fixed essence contains immense energy that Taurus directs through the body, Leo directs through the heart, Scorpio directs through the intuition, and Aquarius directs through the mind. Reflection and taking care of the body is important in fixed signs. Imbalanced energy can reap havoc on the physical form causing aches, illness, and tiredness in Taurus, heart palpitations in Leo, premenstrual and menstrual symptoms in Scorpio and iron or anaemic problems in Aquarius. The forceful and yet silent fixed energies express uniquely through each element. The earth in Taurus emphasises the fixed qualities so she immerses deeper into nature and her physical body, sinking down sensually. The fire in Leo is enduring with fixed energies, it’s a fire that burns bright, burns hard, and never burns out. The water in Scorpio becomes frozen emotion as it becomes trapped, often expressing itself through intense and prevailing emotional conditions. The air in Aquarius becomes static in motion, like she catches the idea as it falls from heaven and fossilises it with the intuitive functions of her mind, never missing a frequency.

soft klance things

  • keith always straightens out the hems of lance’s shirts because them being folded bothers him. lance just smiles and lets keith do his thing
  • whenever keith gets into a Mood, lance’ll come and lay his head in keith’s lap and start talking, about anything, just to see if he can make keith smile.
    • and when keith finds lance crying at night because he misses his family, he takes lance’s hand and kisses each finger.
    • “one,” he says, counting after each kiss. “two. three.” they both count, and on ten their mouths meet and lance feels a little more calm, focused.
  • keith gets out of the shower and his long hair is sopping wet, so he shakes it like a dog to get lance all wet.
    • “stop! you’re the worst!” lance is yelling, but he’s also laughing.
    • his revenge is to take a towel and vigorously rub keith’s head until his hair poofs out. afterword he’ll sit, legs spread out and keith between them resting against his chest, and brush out keith’s hair.
  • early morning jogs around the halls of the castle, talking softly to one another, voices echoing in the quiet.
  • lance finds a machine in the castle that takes sound and converts it into a holographic light display that fills a room.
    • lucky for them, keith’s ipod was in his jacket pocket when blue abducted them.
    • he plays soft vintage melodies from the beginning of the millennium while he and lance slow dance. lance’s arms are looped around keith’s neck, keith’s head resting on lance’s shoulders. soft blue lights like waves fill the room and pass through them.
    • “does this count as a bonding moment?” keith asks slyly, still not letting that go.
    • lance grins and kisses him. long, and deep as a well, savoring it, savoring keith.. “Hm…I guess so. I’m cradling you in my arms, aren’t I?”

Honestly Guren would be such a great character if he wasn’t painted as a hero by the narrative because like?? Even though he’s a complete fucking asshole, he’s also very morally grey, and morally grey asshole characters are GREAT for story progression and development because they tend to power/influence the plot far more than most of the protags ever will. So Guren’s dickish, secrative, manipulative nature is actually a very good thing in storytelling terms, but the fact that he’s painted in a more heroic light is just kinda…bluh. It ruins some of his appeal, to be honest, because he’s very clearly not a hero or a savior, so it feels forced. Characters like Guren are perfect as they are while depicted in a neutral light, because you see their good side contrasting with their horrible actions, and it allows the readers to appreciate them for who they are- as flawed, but still interesting, characters. To put Guren’s actions and behavior in a more positive, heroic light ruins the whole thing because the whole appeal to what he’s doing is that it’s flawed and not the right thing. That’s what makes a character like him likeable. To display it as the ‘right’ thing, the heroic thing, ruins it.

after the final battle

“What was it like,” he asks, “when you watched me die?”

“Hmm?” Emma responds, blinking her eyes open. She was nearly asleep.

The celebrations at Granny’s ended hours ago. They’re in bed now, freshly showered, under the sheets. The window is open and an early spring breeze is coming in. Just days ago it was snowing, but in the last few hours the warmth of spring seems to have settled in Storybrook. Magic probably has something to do with it, but Emma is too exhausted to be bothered by it. In fact, she’s just quite tired in general. Fighting a final battle will do that to a girl.

“What was it like when you watched me die?” Killian asks again.

Is everyone wearing green today? Nature’s light show displays a fantastic emerald ripple above Denali National Park in Alaska, a great place to see the Northern Lights. Secret Desires (M)

=> Park Jimin. Hushed lips. Unsuspecting eyes.

Warnings: Strong sexual content. Public Sex. This is really filthy okay.

Words: 2, 919.

a/n: Basically you and Jimin have sex in a movie theater. This ruined me.

“Jimin, I’m not sure about this..”

With a wary gaze from the deserted back row of the medium sized theater, you looked upon the other twelve people occupying once empty chairs. The closest to you was a couple sitting three rows in front, directly in the middle and not much older than you and your very persistent boyfriend.

“They can’t see us, as long as you keep your pretty mouth shut for me.”

anonymous asked:

Apologies if you've talked about this before, but what is your opinion on Light's relationship with his father? Do you think his affection and emotions towards Soichiro were genuine (specifically during Soichiro's death scene), and what are your thoughts on the comments he makes about his father being a fool in the warehouse scene after Matsuda shoots him?

This… is an ask that I left sitting for half a year, so I sincerely hope by some miracle, you still find it, anon…

But to answer: yes, I think Light sincerely loved his father. In fact, I would argue that Light’s adoration for Soichiro is the key factor behind him becoming Kira in the first place, which makes their relationship all the more sad.
What Light says in the finale actually only goes to confirm this, in my view.

“Overtly earnest people like him always end up the loser. Do you want a world where people like him are always made fools of?”

I think in shouting this Light is more honest than ever about the nature of his ‘boredom’ and why he feels the world is rotten.

Light grew up admiring Soichiro’s policework and wishing to follow in his footsteps as a great policeman, yet as he grew up he learned to see that crime is endless. His father was fighting it so hard (to the point of being away from home very often), but he never achieved lasting change.
Light’s boredom is the boredom with a world that is always the same, always rotten, always restarts the cycle of crime and punishment. He feels defeated at the prospect of living a life that won’t hold long-term meaning.
Light loves and admires his father, but he can see his struggle is futile. That stings him, that makes him belief the world is rotten.

Light also takes his whole personal morale from his father. Soichiro is the living embodiment of “you have to make personal sacrifices for the greater good” and regularly proves this by placing his family second behind his job.
This is something that his children both internalize greatly. Sayu blames herself for the trouble her kidnapping, essentially saying she should have known better and doesn’t want to prioritize her personal feelings for the greater good.
Light employs this sacrificial logic when he justifies becoming Kira to himself. Before meeting Ryuk he rationalizes it as sacrificing himself (his peace of mind, his time, etc) for the good of humanity. That is in line with Soichiro’s teachings because self-sacrifice is good, right?

Soichiro’s influence is also the cause of Light’s visceral reaction to being called evil.

When Lind L. Tailor says it, Light initially looks vulnerable before getting angry, because evil is not something he can ever allow himself to be.
A later scene with Soichiro provides context for this:

It’s one of Soichiro’s mantras and Light lives by the man’s teachings. His self-esteem is partially reliant on feeling worthy of his fathers approval, which is not something he ever had to call into question before.
