Synopsis: The title says it all. Jungkook makes your planned roadtrip to Busan a bit messy

A/N: Jungkook…. has got me feeling some type of ways, so I HAD to write this. I originally intended to post this as one whole scenario but that’d be too long I guess. Anyways, I promise that after I posting the next part of this story I will continue with The Four Elements lgkjaggalksjh. I just…. needed a way to get my feelings straight….. I’m a mess.

Pt. 2

You loved the feeling of the fresh summer breeze coming in contact with the soft skin on your face, the wind causing your hair to wave in the air, your eyes closed as you let the breeze calm you down.

Roadtrips were your favorite thing, and it became kind of your own tradition to do a city roadtrip every summer. You did not know exactly when it started, but every year around July, you found yourself driving in your cabriolet to random cities, enjoying every single unique element that each city in your country had, eventually taking pictures with your polaroid, the memories captured forever, just in one single picture.

If it's not too late for the ask thingy: your opinion on Next to Normal, how do you think the deliberate 'red blue purple' lighting thing play into the show, and how abstract do you think the show can become before it's bad? (Sorry that's a lot 😅

Yo! Never too late, but I did get kinda busy. I really adore Next to Normal (I called it “the most important piece of musical theatre in the twenty-first century” in a recent ask). Like, it’s obviously an iconic show and I think you can really hold it up as an exemplar of modern musicals (and rock musicals, and shows that deal with mental illness, and realistic dramatic theatre, and…).

So I will readily admit that I do not know as much about lighting design as I would like. I can look at lighting and see when it’s impressive or beautiful; I can analyze the finished project in the same way I can analyze costume design choices, but I am not very fluent in the “language of lights” or the conventions of how certain lighting is SUPPOSED to impact the audience.

So, with that said, I like OBC N2N’s use of colored lighting to show different ideas and represent character journeys and all. Obviously light vs. dark plays a major role in the show, as does color symbolism. So in all that respect, the lighting from the original and replicate productions works for me.

But, my thing is, I get really bored of replicate productions. I want to see new and different ideas, original ways to show the themes of the show. A lighting designer isn’t really telling me anything new if they’re doing the same thing with the red-blue-purple light scheme. I’m also kind of bored when I see ANOTHER all-scaffolding set. Designers have this rich script to work with that could go anywhere, that they could really play with and try new, revolutionary things. I mean, it’s Next to Normal – there’s not a lot of room to literally fail.

I have never seen a production go so abstract as to be bad, but I’ve no doubt it could happen. Generally, I think your set should still look more like a house and less like a construction zone. And, like, some real furniture is nice. The show doesn’t move so fast that it can’t feel a little lived in.

                                                        ᴅᴀʏ ᴀғᴛᴇʀ ᴅᴀʏ,
                                        give me clouds, and rain and grey.
                                        Give me pain, if that’s what’s real;

Spell to Aid in Happiness

You will need the following items for this spell:

  • 1 medium bowl of water
