“John, are you kidding me?!” you whined, tightening your grip on the controller hoping that would help you win. “It’s not my fault you suck at this game, babe.” he said, sitting up a little on the couch and focusing his eyes on the T.V. screen.
“I’m pretty sure we’re on the same team. We should be working together.” you told him, pressing pause on the game to make your point. You had games on the Ark, but none of them were as violent as the ones John picked out from the stash in the lighthouse.
You threw the controller down on the couch and sighed, crossing your arms for added dramatic effect. “Hey, what are you doing?” he asked, setting his controller on the couch beside him. “I’m not playing anymore because you’re a cheater.” you said.
“Really? You’re a sore loser?” he asked and pouted playfully. “I’m completely serious, Murphy.” you said and squinted your eyes at him. “Oh I’m Murphy now? Okay, I guess I’ll just sit all the way over here, all alone without my beautiful girlfriend to keep me company.” he whined and scooted as far away from you as possible.
“Beautiful?” you asked him and a smile crept onto your face. “Yep, beautiful and smart and funny and-Hey!” he yelled, seeing what you had been doing. While John was on the opposite side of the couch, you had resumed the game and before he could reach the controller, his player was dead.
“Ha!” you said and jumped up. “I win, I win, I win!” you boasted jokingly and danced around the room. “Get over here!” John yelled and ran after you, pulling you back onto the couch and tickling your sides.
You sat up and caught your breath and John leaned in for a soft kiss. “I’m the real winner.” he stated cockily. “And why is that?” you asked. “Because I have you.” he said and pulled you in for another kiss.
