Happy Birthday

“Your fear of looking stupid is taking too long.”

Six Flags had always been your favorite place to be. Big scary rides gave you such an amazing adrenaline rush, and sometimes you couldn’t get enough of it.

For your birthday, your boyfriend was taking you to the place you loved to be most. To say you were excited was beyond an understatement. You hadn’t been since you moved to LA two years prior, and it was about time you went.

You dressed yourself in a pair of light denim shorts, a white crop top, and a pair of black converse. Tying your hair up into a messy bun, you called out to Ethan. “Babe? Are you ready yet?” He was in the bathroom, styling his hair. He had been in there quite a while, and you were beginning to worry. Knocking on the door, you tried to turn the knob but it was locked.

“Ethan? Are you okay?” You heard him sigh, before unlocking the door and twisting the knob to open it.

“No, my hair looks stupid. I look stupid.” He threw his hands up and walked towards his bed, dramatically falling onto it. Giggling, you sat down on the edge of the bed, placing your hand on his back.

“I think you look gorgeous, babe.” He let out a groan, probably rolling his eyes.

“I’m serious, Y/n. I can’t look stupid. What if we see some fans? I don’t want their pictures to be bad because of my whacked out hair.” He sat up, pointing a finger at his dark curls. You didn’t notice anything stupid or out of place about them. They looked like they always did; cute and a little messy.

“It’s adorable, Eth.” You smiled, running your fingers through the dark curls. He tried swatting your hand away, making you giggle. “Come on, babe. You look fine.”

“Y/n, I’m not leaving this apartment looking stupid.” His voice was quite raised. You pulled away from him.

“Your fear of looking stupid is taking too long, Eth.” You frowned. You had hoped that at this point in the day you would be waiting in line to get into the park. “Just wear a hat.” Shrugging, you bit the inside of your cheek, hoping that’s what he’d do.

“You’re right. Today is supposed to be about you. I’m sorry.” He apologized and stood from the bed, grabbing a hat and placing it on his head. You smiled at him as he looked in the mirror. “Okay, that’s not bad. I’m ready.”

“Finally.” You grabbed your purse and his hand, pulling him out of his room and the front door. He turned to lock the front door and you grinned, excited to finally be leaving.

He wrapped his arms around you and pulled you into a tight hug, “Thank you for being patient with me, baby.”

You smiled up at him, “Of course, Ethan.” He lowered his head to yours, pressing a kiss to your lips.

“Happy Birthday, Y/n.” He connected your lips again.

The two of you spent the rest of the day riding rides and eating fried foods that were definitely not good for you. But you wouldn’t have had it any other way. Spending your birthday with your favorite person at your favorite place was more amazing than you could have hoped.

Not my favorite, but here ya go.

Broken Strings - Part Two/?

Summary - After finding Daryl, he takes Ava and her people to Alexandria where they have a nasty run in with Negan and the Saviours.

Warnings - swearing, violence, family reunion, girl power, Negan being Negan.

The sun shines bright in the sky, it was early, but not too early. I stood on the balcony to my room, twiddling the charm of my necklace between my fingers as I looked ahead. My people were up at soon as morning cracked through the darkness, preparing the vehicles, making sure the guns and other weapons were loaded and ready to go.

My heart skipped a beat or two when I thought about seeing my family again, a smile crossing onto my lips, “Are you nearly ready?” I hear a voice ask from behind me, my body turns to face Daryl.

“You look a lot better than you did when you got here,” I state calmly, leaning against the door frame, “Do you feel better?”

Daryl gives me a small smile and nods, “Yeah, I feel a lot better now, just happy to be out of that uniform really,” he says gruffly, low whilst he looks at the floor. Instead of the prison outfit, he wore dark jeans and a regular grey shirt, black boots on his feet, “You need to get dressed,” he tells me, “I’ll be downstairs when you’re ready.”

When Daryl leaves my bedroom I sigh, rubbing my hands over my face as I head to my wardrobe, pulling out a pair of light denim shorts, a vest top and leather jacket, throwing them on quickly before pulling on my leather heeled boots and cowgirl hat. A large group of people were waiting in the hall when I made my way down, Nara looked up at me expectantly, her eyes filled with worry, “Load the trucks up, we leave now.”
