The Tenth Floor pt 1

Min Yoongi had gone through 34 secretaries in the past 24 months, and each one of them left in tears. This fact alone should have warned you against taking the job, but the pay was too good to pass up. Surely you could put up with a billionaires temper-tantrums, right?

Reader x Yoongi

Genre: Fluff, humor, probably some angst

Warnings: Strong language at times

You certainly looked the part. Dress slacks, light-blue blouse, a blazer with the sleeves rolled up once. You were even wearing heels, much to your distaste. You had bought your slacks at a consignment store cheap, and they fit other than the length. You planned to either have them hemmed or buy new ones as soon as you got your first pay check, but for now you would have to survive without practical shoes.

The elevator you were standing in was basically a box of mirrors, and everywhere you looked you saw yourself. It was a little disconcerting, so you tried to focus on your phone. You felt the elevator stop, and you glanced up at the numbers on the wall. You were only on the fifth floor, so you guessed someone else must be going up as well.

You were right, and watched as two young men stepped into the elevator with you. The taller of the two gave you a smile as the other almost pressed the button for the tenth floor, noticed it was already lit up, and dropped his hand.

“You must be the new secretary.” He commented, and you raised your eyebrows.

“Yeah, how did you—“

“We know everyone on the tenth floor.” The taller man replied. “My name’s Seokjin, by the way.” He held out his hand for you to shake.

“Nice to meet you.” You said, giving them both a smile. “I look forward to getting to know you both.”

“Don’t count on it.” The second man snorted.

Seokjin shot the other man a look, and hit his arm lightly. “Jimin, don’t scare the girl off on her first day.” Jimin shrugged, unperturbed.

“What do you mean, ‘don’t count on it’?” You asked, and Jimin smiled.

“I mean, you won’t be around long enough to get to know us.” He looked over to Seokjin. “I’d give her a week, tops.”

Seokjin sighed. “Such a pessimist.” He chided before sizing you up. “She’ll last a month.”

Can I request a fic with young, prefall Jack Morrison and/or Gabriel Reyes? Reader is a new recruit and after seeing one or both of the men she makes a side comment to her friend about their attractiveness but they hear her.

((A/N - Reader and friend kept gender neutral so can hopefully be suitable for everyone. Please let me know of any errors, and I hope you enjoy!))

To say you were nervous was an understatement. It wasn’t butterflies in your stomach, more like over excitable bats flittering around making you want to churn. Today was the day where you and the other trainees found out if you were accepted into Overwatch.

You personally hadn’t experienced any wrongdoings with hostile Omnics, but you could definitely see that the world was going to shit because of it. You didn’t want to be one of those people perched on their high horses - you wanted to help.

After months of vigorous training and battling through harsh conditions that weeded out the weak, you had made it to the end. Your body had changed in that time, become leaner and faster. You’d be surprised if you weren’t accepted.

Straightening the light blue blazer you had been assigned to wear for today, you glanced in the mirror. You wondered how many people had worn it. How many people had worn their heart on their sleeve from not being able to join. Grimacing in disgust at yourself, you carefully rolled the sleeves up, showing the white fabric lining. That’s better, you thought.

Tap tap.

You turned and faced the door, adjusting your hair slightly.

“It’s open!”

The door handle turned and in walked one of your friends that you had made throughout the rigorous training.

“Hey, love. You ready? The car’s here”
You nodded, walking over the threshold. You grabbed your keys and phone on the way out.

***

Why was everyone in Overwatch so attractive? Sure, you’d seen posters of heroes but never had you seen them in person. Sitting four rows from the front of the stage, you had a pretty good view of who they called Strike Commander Morrison and Commander Reyes, even if the sun was in your eyes. They were talking about general admittance, but also that if people weren’t accepted it wasn’t the end of the world and there’s always a silver lining.

You hoped you didn’t need that silver lining.

A lady called Captain Amari took over, instructing everyone if their name was called out to gather over where Morrison and Reyes were standing. She started reading the list off of her holopad.

Your heart practically skipped a beat when yours was the first name called. Standing up, you felt a few hands clap your back and you grinned. You passed a tiny wave to your friend, whose mouth was agape.

Good luck! You mouthed.

Captain Amari kept on reeling the names off, one by one. You proudly made your way over to the duo, whose eyes were on you and smiles welcoming.

“Welcome to Overwatch, Recruit (L/N).” Morrison greeted you.

“Thank you, sir. It’s a pleasure.” You could barely contain your excitement.

“Eager.” Was all Reyes said.

You raised your eyebrows slightly.
“Of course, sir. Would you rather me be dreading this?”

Reyes raised his eyebrow slightly, tilting his head. He leaned over and whispered something in Morrison’s ear. He blushed and gave Reyes a good thump in the stomach. The Strike Commander shook his head at Reyes’ cackles, you still standing there not knowing how to react.

Other recruits came filing over, which put you at ease. Whether you made a good impression on your Commanders, you have no idea. A hand came through by your elbow and linked arms. You gasped slightly when you realised it was your friend, turning to fully face them and encase them in a congratulatory hug.

Your attention turned back to the duo when you heard a loud cough. The ceremony appeared to be over, and you appeared to have been very lucky. Out of the hundred or so that had come along, only fifteen of you had been chosen.

“You are our new recruits. We will train you harder and better than anything you’ve experienced the past few months. Overwatch is an elite programme run by the United Nations, who of course only want the best. We will push your limits. We will break you.” Commander Reyes stated.
“There is still time for you to back out.” He regained his posture, arms crossed and hip jutted out to the side, looking over the group.

“He could definitely break me.”
Your friend mumbled to you.
Your eyes bulged and you pressed your lips to keep in a laugh. You nudged your friend in the ribs as a sign for them to be quiet.

Reyes glanced over to you, an eyebrow slightly raised. You blushed.

The commander’s speech continued. A drop of sweat trickled down your spine, beads forming on your forehead from the glaring blaze of the sun. You let out a little sigh. You were glad you had rolles up the sleeves on the blazer.

“That is all, recruits. Meet at the training room tomorrow morning at 0600 hours.”
Reyes dismissed you all with a wave of his hand.

The group dispersed, all going their own way. You lagged behind, not wanting them to overhear. You grabbed your friend’s hand in yours and whispered to them your earlier thoughts.

“They really are attractive aren’t they?”
You friend linked arms with you, bringing your heads together.
“Yes, (Y/N). Did you not hear me earlier?”
“What, that you wanted Commander Reyes to break you?” You sniggered.
“Not just him. Strike Commander Morrison too.”
“Hush!”
“What, (Y/N)? It’s not like anyone is going to hear us. Don’t you want them?”
“Well yes.. But they’re our Commanders..”
“And?” Your friend stopped walking, both of you putting a fair distance between yourselves and the group ahead of you.
“They could command me to do anything.” You grinned.

Your friend let go of you cackling, nearly doubling over. They stood back up and wiped away a tear from the corner of their eye, staring suddenly at something behind you.

“Oh. Oh no.”
“What is it?”

You span around to look where they were looking. You blanched. Behind you were a pair of very attractive and very amused Commanders. You hadn’t realised they’d been following you in the same direction of the base.

“I was enjoying that, recruits. Please. Carry on.” Commander Reyes had his arms crossed, a smirk on his lips.
“Please do, it’s the most entertained we’ve been all day.” Morrison nodded. “Us hearing that you want us to.. What was it, Gabe?”
“Break and command them?” He grinned wolfishly.

You took in a deep breath and covered your red face with your hands. You turned on your heels and began to briskly walk in the opposite a direction. A firm hand caught your right shoulder before you could go anywhere.

“Not so fast, cariño.” Reyes’ deep voice chuckled.

This could only end badly.

“We’re to going to be working very closely together.” He whispered in your ear. You shuddered, and lowered your hands from your face, stepping back slightly when you realised how close he was. You spared a look for your friend, who was in the same predicament with Morrison, albeit more laughter coming from them.

Reyes hooked an arm over your shoulder, while Morrison patted your friend’s back.

“Come, (L/N). Don’t want to be late for dinner now do we?”

You looked up at him towering over you, still grinning. Your eyes were wide and your hands were holding the opposite elbow in a makeshift hug.

“You look like a deer in headlights, don’t look so scared! I won’t bite.” He joked. He leaned down a bit. “Or, unless you want to me to.” Reyes said.

You sputtered, looking straight ahead to where he was guiding you to walk so he wouldn’t be able to see your red cheeks.

This was going to be very interesting.

so I was searching for an entirely different photo but then I found this and like.. why am I only just seeing this now?

The Date

I have no idea if anyone even remembers a fic that I made in October of last year called ‘chance meeting’. It was something I did when I started writing and I actually wince when I read it because I can see all the mistakes I make, but a lot of you seemed to of liked it! So this has been sitting in my drafts for way to long so I decided to quickly finish it because I know a few of you were hoping for a part 2 so this is it! I actually really like this fluffy little parter. I just need a break from my other writing and this was perfect! Hopefully you like it and ill tag the first half as well, which you will need to read to understand this!

p.s I have only tagged the people from the first half and i would tag people that asked to be tagged in the second half but it wont let me access my notes for the fic & mind my spelling it can be shocking at times!
