life was too long

I adopted aro ace ritsu hc literally only to make this joke

  • Ravenclaw (right after they've graduated hogwarts): You know now, as far as society is concerned, we're adults.
  • Hufflepuff: Yes! Isn't it exciting?
  • Ravenclaw: Adults who have to make their own decisions about their lives.
  • Hufflepuff: It's so freeing, isn't it?
  • Ravenclaw: I have no idea what I'm doing and I want to go back to school.
  • Hufflepuff: ...
  • Ravenclaw: I don't want to do classes or anything, I just want someone to cook for me and tell me when meals are so I don't forget and basically be able to ignore life's responsibilities.

list of random spirits encountered:

- a spirit haunting a lamppost on 3rd street. it asks for the umbrella of anyone passing by in exchange for a temporary alteration in reality

- a spirit haunting people with burdens on their mind. manifests as a pair of wings on their shoulders

A short note to anyone that might be going through a tough time right now:

I guess this is just a short open letter, or note (really), to say that you aren’t alone. That even if it feels that way right now, out there, someone cares about you: even if you can’t see them, or hear them, or feel them, right now there is someone in the world that cares that you exist, and that you are alive, happy and well.

Even if you haven’t met them yet, even if you never will meet them, they care that you are okay, that you see many more sunrises and that you stop feeling the hurt that is in your heart.

And if the prospect of not knowing who that person is too abstract or too far away from you right now then I tell you this: I care, I care that you exist, and that you are happy and well. I care that you are able to be yourself and that you don’t need to live your life in fear. I care that you hold on until tomorrow, and the tomorrow after that, and the tomorrow after that.

When I’m in my worst places sometimes it’s knowing that there is one person out there that might want or believe that I can keep going that makes all the difference.

Maybe other people will reblog this and you’ll know that there is more than one person that feels this way about you. Maybe no-one else will see this or will reblog this but you. I hope my words are enough, at least until your night is over and you can finally see the sun.

I see you and I love you, and I hope you are okay.

One neat thing I noticed while rewatching is that some of the paladins’ introductions in episode 1 coincide with their elements! Like:

The Yellow Lion’s element is Earth, and the first thing Hunk ever does onscreen is complain about being in the air and then work with metal. The fear of heights / motion sickness makes sense considering his affinity is with the ground, as does his talent for mechanics.

The first time we see Pidge, she’s working a communications unit. The Green Lion’s thing is Forests, and a big aspect of that is the idea of roots and connection with other living things (”we are all made up of the same cosmic dust”) and the first thing she does on screen is literally connect with others.

Red’s element is fire, and Keith’s introduction is literally him blowing something up and then punching some guys. Which. Speaks for itself honestly.

Weirdly, Shiro and Lance don’t seem to follow this trend. The first thing we see Shiro do is help Matt extract ice from Kerberos, and the first thing we see Lance do is fly the simulator, and neither introduction seems to be related to their given elements of air and water/ice respectively– in fact I’d say they seem swapped. I dunno if that means something, and maybe this observation is meaningless lmao, but it seems to hold up with the other three, which is interesting.

The Artemis Fowl books advocate for the environment, deal with misogyny in the workplace and the need for feminism, and has some of the best character development arcs like ever over the span of eight books. Also, there’s magic and fairies with guns and time travel and a whole lot of sarcasm and really no downside to reading them

Why I hope Elriel is just a friendship, nothing more:

As Mor said- Azriel deserves better.

He’s pined after a female he can never have for five hundred years. When he finds out, it’ll rip his heart out.

Azriel deserves more than another male’s Mate. Even if it turns out Elain and Lucien aren’t perfect for each other- even if it’s one of those failed chances of fate. He’s loved too quietly and too fiercely for too long. His life has been too wretched to not have the perfect happily-ever-after.

He deserves a Mate of his own, not the Mate of another. He deserves what Rhys found with Feyre, what Cassian will find with Nesta, and what Amren might have found with Varian.

He. Deserves. More.
