liberal national

I’m really wary of imagery like this

because I’m positive that liberals are in the process of leveraging the implied sentiment to oppose anti-establishment leftists too. In other words, Trump is an anti-establishment monster who is tearing down the beautiful values that this nation stands for, and leftists are likewise getting scarier when they declare things like “America was never great”. Liberal nationalism is one of our primary hurdles to overcome, this idea that America is (and always has been) a bastion of equality and progressive values. It’s powerful ideology, stuff that will keep millions locked in ineffective centrism over the next few decades.

I know an image like this

will absolutely haunt the liberal imagination in the decades to come, the horseshoe ghost hanging over their shoulders – fascists ready to turn ever-progressive America into an unprecedented tyranny for the few, leftists ready to turn lawful America into chaotic mob rule that only works in theory. After all, if you want legitimacy in the capitalist electoral system (as liberals do), you will absolutely condemn grassroots organizers, socialists, and the like in terms that this second image implies, especially in the decades to come.

I saw a lot of this at the recent pro-immigration rally a week ago – people all over the place carrying signs with stuff like the Statue of Liberty weeping, implying that this isn’t what America stands for. One of the core goals of the leftist project ought to be to help people realize that, yes, immigration bans and racism are what America has historically stood for – at least in the sense of the American capitalist/imperialist state, because I do realize there has been beautiful resistance and solidarity among the masses over the centuries. The history is clear: America is built on centuries of genocide and enslavement, inequality and domination coursing through its veins.

The American exceptionalism is unhelpful at best and super reactionary at worst. Abandon the Lady Liberty imagery and realize that we are already that tyrannical empire to most of the world, not this plucky melting-pot nation of progressive values.

Today in history: February 23, 1868 – W.E.B DuBois born.

DuBois was an intellectual leader and activist in the Black liberation movement and anti-colonial movement for decades. He was a life-long fighter for full equality for Black people in the U.S., co-founding the NAACP, active in struggles against lynching, Jim Crow laws and discrimination in education and employment.

DuBois was an internationalist, organizing several Pan-African Congresses supporting the national liberation movements in Africa. He was a prolific author, writing many important articles and books including a key book for understanding U.S. history, Black Reconstruction in America. DuBois believed that capitalism was a primary cause of racism, and was generally sympathetic to socialist causes throughout his life. Though he conflicted with the Communist Party for many years, at age 93 he finally joined the Communist Party.

He traveled throughout the world and was friends with leaders of liberation movements in Africa and Asia (pictured see DuBois with Chinese communist leader Mao Zedong). DuBois faced serious repression during the McCarthy era, having his passport revoked for 8 years. He died at age 95 in Ghana, while there working with Nkrumah’s government on an Encyclopedia of the African Diaspora.

Mainstream Media dirtbags keep lying about the crowds at the Trump Inauguration by showing pictures of the crowds an hour before it even started!

Mainstream Media Fake News comparison:

Trump Crowd around Noon:

And to begin with, I wouldn’t be surprised if the crowd was smaller than Obama’s because unlike Obama supporters, Trump supporters were threatened with violence for attending and were indeed brutally attacked on inauguration day by Liberal/Democrat trash, so people stayed home to avoided the violent Leftist thugs.

Nobody threatened to hurt Obama supporters in 2009 or 2012 for attending! Just goes to show you that the Right is the real party of tolerance, not the Left as they like to claim to be.

Also, Conservatives have to go to work everyday, unlike Obama supporters who are lazy and mooch off the taxpayers, so they have nothing better to do.

@Obama's last press conference
 •
Reporter: The Republicans have been calling Obamacare "a massive failure" and there are calls to immediately remove it. If they schedule it, the Democrats don't have the votes to stop them. Mr. President, your response?
Obama:
Obama:
Obama:
Obama: but they don't HAVE a plan, they just hate MINE.

International Socialist Republican Solidarity with Standing Rock!

We, the undersigned socialist republican organisations from Ireland, Scotland and Wales, express our complete solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and their heroic resistance against the imposition of the Dakota Access Pipeline on their sovereign territory.

The ongoing resistance at Standing Rock in defence of land, natural resources and the right to water, is providing inspiration to anti- capitalist and anti- imperialist struggles around the world. The resistance at Standing Rock resonates in particular, in Ireland, Scotland and Wales, where our peoples have, and continue to fight against the joint systems of Capitalism and Imperialism and in defence of our homes, our natural resources and our right to clean safe and free drinking water.

We recognise that the fight of the Lakota is our fight and we further recognise that Standing Rock is a key battle ground in the struggle of the international working class and oppressed peoples around the world against the exploitation and oppression of Capitalism and Imperialism.

We condemn the US Imperial administration for its ongoing attacks on the Standing Rock Sioux. The militarisation of tribal lands, and the brutalisation of those acting in defence of their future is unacceptable and must end immediately.

We note with concern the recent raid on Last Child Camp and the subsequent mass round up of protestors. We demand that all those arrested are immediately released.

It is our view, that the US administration, acting as it is, in support of the private capitalist interests behind the Dakota Access Pipeline, have convincingly demonstrated, the fundamental truth of James Connolly’s maxim, that ‘governments in capitalist society are but committees of the rich to manage the affairs of the capitalist class’.

We call on all progressive forces in the United States to rally behind the resistance at Standing Rock. For our part, we pledge our continuing support and solidarity and vow to do what we can in our own countries to highlight the outrages being committed at Standing Rock and to build international support for the resistance!

Defend natural resources!
Release All Prisoners!
Stop the Dakota Access Pipeline!
