leverage s4

HARDISON: Speaking of which, did you ever find that steak place?
ELIOT: The bet’s off.
HARDISON: What you mean the bet’s off?
ELIOT: The second that we found out they were grifters, the bet’s off.
HARDISON: That doesn’t count. You didn’t set–
ELIOT: Page 189, rule number 7 in the bro handbook.
HARDISON: What? There wasn’t no rules. You didn’t set any rules.
ELIOT: The bet is off in a situation where–
HARDISON: I’ll be damned if it’s off.
ELIOT: All right, then! I’ll make you some prime rib when this is over.
HARDISON: Bone in, well-done?
ELIOT: Well-done, bone in.
HARDISON: All right.

Leverage, 4x15 – The Lonely Hearts Job

so i just watched the office job, from s4 of leverage, and it is THE BEST EPISODE i have ever seen of basically anything

  • IT’S A MOCKUMENTARY EPISODE
  • OFFICE WERNER HERZOG TALKING MANICALLY INTO THE WAER COOLER
  • the ongoing joke about how the CEO can only relate to anything – his job, his emotions – through football metaphors is beautiful
  • “boy can cook!”
  • HARDISON ATE ELIOT’S SANDWICH and their entire plot this episode is about it. i laughed, i cried (with laughter). the amount of rage from eliot about this sandwich was so exquisite. as was the way hardison looks to the camera when eliot’s going on about it.
  • honestly the (LOOKS TO CAMERA) game was strong in this episode and it makes me so sad that this is not a normal part of the show. what a beautiful addition to the visual language of leverage this makes.
  • everything about parker being a beautiful weirdo was lovely. HER GREETING CARDS. when the director tells her she has a german soul. everything. everything.
  • ELIOT: No-one throws Hardison off a roof… except maybe me!
  • ELIOT: (INSTANTLY LOOKS REMORSEFUL) … No.
  • ELIOT: (LAUGHS, IMAGINING IT)
  • the CEO hugs eliot for saving his life and eliot growls and looks at hardison, which is really… something
  • ELIOT REMAINS NOT GREAT AT FEELINGS EXCEPT FOR WHEN HE HAS TO SAVE PEOPLE. HE’S GREAT AT THEM THEN.
  • the director is harassing parker and both hardison and eliot shout at him in unison to COME WITH THEM AND LEAVE HER ALONE, it’s 2 beautiful
  • the entire thing where sophie is pissed off at nate for being a condescending scumbag is wonderful. i especially love when she manages to get a coworker to tell him off and he’s so shocked that he pours coffee all over the floor.

HARDISON: Parker, I’m getting some really funky readings off of your right boot. Is everything okay?
PARKER: Yeah, it’s fine… Oops.
HARDISON: Parker, that sounded a lot like ball bearings rolling across the floor.
PARKER: Uh-huh.
HARDISON: Was that because there were ball bearings rolling across the floor?
PARKER: Uh-huh.
HARDISON: Okay. No, it’s cool. It’s cool. It’s cool. Be cool. You know what? They’re below the minimum threshold, so they will not trigger the alarm.
PARKER: Lucky ducks.
HARDISON: Just don’t move. I need a minute.
PARKER: Please. Take your time. I’m just standing on a giant alarm sensor with no exit, no plan, and a hundred pounds of iron strapped to my feet. Fine.

Leverage, 4x10 – The Queen’s Gambit Job

HARDISON: Oh, thank you, man. That’s what I’m talking… That’s brother love right there.
PARKER: Now move when he moves so he doesn’t feel the lift. And… Now! No! The opposite of that.
ELIOT: We can’t all be action heroes.
HARDISON: I’ll show you an action hero.
PARKER: Nice and easy…
HARDISON: Thank you, man. That’s real nice. Appreciate it. Right on top. Thank you. Thank you. And what? Say something now.
ELIOT: Yeah. One good lift in three years. Awesome!
