let's just add it to the list

Undisclosed Desires (part 12- finale)

Words: 1.8k

Summary: You and Castiel return to the bunker and try to patch things up with the Winchesters.

Warnings: Nothing, unless you need a fluff warning

A/N: This is a tentative finale. I like the relationship between the reader and Cas, so I may add little drabbles here and there. Constructive feedback is always appreciated. If you’d like to be added to my master tag list, just shoot me an ask or DM.

You had spent the last week and a half spending time with Castiel in that motel room with Castiel and it had been one of the best times of your life. You had almost decided that it wasn’t worth getting dressed since Castiel wouldn’t let you keep your clothes on very long anyways; not that you minded.

“Well, Cas.” you said with a beaming smile. “I think we’re done here.”

He stood up straight and tall and rolled his shoulders, letting his raven colored wings flutter behind him. For the first time in years, he felt like a real angel again. He turned to you and smiled; you noticed he had been doing that more and more recently.

Now that I’m on an ableism-education spree, I might want to add this to the list.

To all able-bodied cosplayers:

Let me make clear, first and foremost, that cosplaying as disabled characters as an able-bodied person is okay. Just like cosplaying white characters when you’re POC or vice versa, is completely fine.

What is not okay, though, is using devices to aid these disabilities for your costume. If your desired character is in a wheelchair, please don’t use a wheelchair if you’re able-bodied. Because you’ll take up unnecessary space and get special treatment that you do not need from other people. I don’t care if the wheelchair is essential to the character. If you are able-bodied, don’t use one. Just walk.

If your desired character uses a cane, make sure you only use it for pictures and walk normally in public any other time.

Let me try to see if this metaphor works: If you’re white, it’s not okay to change your skintone to match a POC character (blackface ain’t cool yo), so please do not pretend to be disabled just to accurately cosplay a character, either.

Our disabilities are not a costume, they are cold, harsh realities. And our devices to help aid these disabilities are not props for your entertainment.

DISCLAIMER: I haven;’t found any of these easter eggs on my own, I did a bit of research and gathered the many easter eggs I found from multiple sites. I know there are definitely more easter eggs that I didn’t include because I either didn’t spot/know about them or didn’t think they were important enough. If you noticed that I missed an easter egg that you would like me to include, please feel free to tell me and I’d gladly add it! I also apologize that this list isn’t as long as my other easter egg posts, it’s just been a hectic few days and I haven’t had much time to do more research. Also please let me know if i made any mistakes.

Rictor, the leader of the children from the X-23 program, had the power to move rocks and earth with his mind. When Logan looked over Rictor’s file, Dominikos Patrakis was listed as his DNA source. That name is the alter ego of the classic villain, Avalanche.

Logan referred to Transigen by another name - Alkali. Alkali Lake was the location of the original Weapon X Program, and that same company is the one that eventually became Transigen. The carryover is the reason the company had Logan’s DNA in the first place.

The fourth song on the soundtrack is titled ‘Old Man Logan’. The 'Old Man Logan’ storyline from the comics was the original source for Logan’s story.

At the beginning of the movie, when Logan picks some people up at the funeral at Greenwood Cemetery, which has been used throughout Marvel comics. Captain America’s memorial is in Greenwood in the Ultimates storyline, and Sue Storm was buried there after her death. There are also the names “Rogers” and “Peters” on tombstones, which are references to Captain America and Quicksilver.

We’ve already seen the character of Caliban in X-Men: Apocalypse! When asked about it, James Mangold said “It’s a funny, messy story of how so often these things are not as coordinated as everyone thinks,” director James Mangold told us at a recent press event for 20th Century Fox. “I actually had written him into our movie, and they didn’t know [he was] in Apocalypse, and then they kind of wrote it in their movie, and they cast someone in their movie and I had not seen it and was working away on mine.” So it was just a big coincidence! Stephen Merchant plays Caliban in Logan, and Tómas Lemarquis plays him in Apocalypse.

At the end of the movie, the children decided to shave of a part of Logan’s beard, which resulted in him having his classic Wolverine mutton chop look.

In the movie we see that Logan has a samurai sword (katana), which is a callback The Wolverine and Logan’s many other adventures in Japan.

There were many many callbacks to the previous X-Men movies in the dialogue of this movie such as Professor X talking about discovering Logan as a cage fighter, Logan still smoking cigars, the battle at the Statue of Liberty, and Adamantium bullets.

Charles’ round home thing is sort of the exact opposite of Cerebro. Its inside mirror the inside of Cerebro, but it acts as a method of surprising his telekinesis.

Another mutant whose DNA samples were used for the clones was Christopher Bradley, a.k.a. Bolt/Maverick, and we do see a kid who has electricity powers! We last saw Christopher Bradley/Bolt/Maverick in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but due to the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past, none of the events in X-Men Origins: Wolverine happened (not going to even try explaining the timeline, I don’t even get it completely). (Anyone else recognize the actor, Dominic Monaghan, as Merry from LOTR?)

James Mangold has said that he views Logan to be sort of a Western movie and he was inspired by the 1953 movie Shane, which follows an aging, reluctant hero attempting to escape his old life only to be dragged back in, which is a clear parallel to Wolverine’s storyline in this movie. We even see Professor X & Laura watching the movie in the hotel room!

Sadly, Hugh Jackman is done with the Wolverine role, and we never got to see him wear the classic yellow Wolverine costume from the comics (I’m not too upset about him not wearing the costume, in my opinion he looks cooler without it). Anyways, in addition to seeing it in Laura’s comicbook, we see one of the mutant kids holding a doll wearing the classic Wolverine suit.

By now we’ve all seen he teaser trailer for Deadpool 2, and this short little teaser is filled with easter eggs itself!

  • While Deadpool is in the phone booth, the words “Nathan Summers Coming Soon” are written on the frame. Nathan Summers is the real name of the character Cable, who is going to be in the Deadpool sequel.
  • In addition to the very obvious Logan posters in the background, there’s also a Firefly poster. Firefly is a tv show created by Joss Wheadon, who also directed The Avengers (note: Deadpool & Logan & the rest of the X-Men universe movies don’t take place in the same universe as The Avengers, aka the MCU) Anyways, some fans have theorized that the Firefly poster could be a hint that we could see Nathan Fillion in Deadpool 2.
  • UPDATE: The Firefly poster could also be a reference to Morena Baccarin - she plays Inara in Firefly and was Vanessa in Deadpool (she will reprise her role in the sequel).
  • The huge chunk of text at the end of the trailer is an actual book report for The Old Man and the Sea. I don’t know the connection or why it was done (I’m presuming it’s just a joke) but if anyone knows, feel free to let me know and I’ll update this post.

A/N- At long last, Heels Part 2! Let me know what you think and enjoy the fic!

You watched your breath create a plume of frost in the air in front of you. It was times like these, times when there was nothing to do but think, when your mind jumped back to that moment. The moment you’d left. You tipped your head back lazily and let your eyes drift closed. You shivered, not because of the frigid air surrounding you, but because of the all too familiar memory beginning to play like a movie in your head. You wondered again what it was that had stopped you from replying. You thought about what he’d said. You contemplated how he’d acted that entire night, and for weeks before it. And you remembered the way his lips had felt on yours, so natural, and so perfect. Why couldn’t you say anything?

“Y/N!” John’s voice punctured your thoughts, the memories popped out of existence as if they were a set of balloons, quick and jarring.

“Hey.” You deadpanned, opening your eyes and turning your head to look at him.

“Okay. Since the rest of us are all here, I think we should talk about something before Laf gets here.” Hercules voiced, Angelica nodded, her arms linked with her sisters’.

You tensed at his name. “He’s coming?” You spoke quietly, your jaw tense and tone aggressive.

Alexander sat down on the bench next to you. “Yes.” He replied without explanation.

“That makes eight. Too many. I’ll just go home.” You responded, beginning to get up.

“No. Y/N you can’t just avoid him.” Hercules blocked you and eased you back onto the bench.

“Ever since Lafay-” Eliza began to speak, but you interrupted telling her you liked puppies.

“You can’t avoid talking about him either.” John spoke up. You sighed exasperatedly, allowing Eliza to continue.

“Ever since Lafayette and you…” She searched for words,

“Nearly fucked?” Peggy provided.

“Sure.” Eliza said. “Ever since you guys… did that. Things have been crazy messed up.”

“You’re dead inside.”

“He’s even more salty than before.”

“You rarely come out of your apartment.”

“We haven’t seen either of you in weeks.” They all chimed in with their commentary.

“Alright. I get it.” You shouted to shut them up.

“It isn’t healthy.” Angelica finished for the group.

“What isn’t healthy?” It was torturous to hear his voice again. You shrank back into the bench completely involuntarily. You felt your heart being torn in two again. It felt like the painful scraping of a steel plate, tearing like wet tissue under the force of a machine. Ripping, crunching, squealing, roaring.

“You two being so distant is worse than when you were biting each other’s heads off.” Hercules grumbled.

Lafayette glanced at you but quickly averted his gaze when he caught your eye. “Who two.”

“You and Y/N!” Alexander groaned, agitated by the fact that Lafayette hadn’t been able to grasp the concept. You watched his eyes as the turned to the ground. Even when you’d hated the frenchman, you had always admired his umber irises.

Eliza placed her hands on Lafayette’s shoulders and led him to sit down on the bench next to you. “Now you’re both going to sit here and figure this out until you can at least look at each other.”

“When you can, you’re welcome to come inside, if not, stay here.” Angelica explained. It was her house, she could certainly deny you entrance, though she couldn’t keep you from going home. Everyone else followed the eldest of the Schuyler sisters into her house and a silence dragged on between you and Lafayette. It was just as weaponized as the one that plagued the night he’d let his heart spill. The night you’d shared that kiss that felt like a thousand of the most jaw dropping fireworks rocketing through your head, like it belonged there, like you needed it, like it was the only beauty the world could muster to provide that moment.

“I still love you Y/N.” He said, almost too softly for you to hear. You couldn’t bear to meet his eyes. You couldn’t bear the the thought of those pleading eyes that haunted your every waking thought. However much you loved those eyes, it still hurt to remember how he’d looked at you that night. If you’d only said something. Anything. Maybe this wouldn’t be so hard. “I’ve always loved you.” You stared into your lap, picking nervously at your cuticles. This was your chance to tell him you loved him back. This was your chance to feel his arms encasing you, to feel him holding you like your heart had longed for since the day you’d left. But was it true? Was it something you could say with your heart truly dedicated to it? Could you say those words and risk prodding his heart like the specimen of a middle school dissection? You couldn’t say the words. Unless they were bursting with certainty, you would be kicking your heels up cruelly with his already broken emotions.

“But I have to move on.” Your heart dropped, residing in your gut as a painful sore there. “I can’t be… like this. I don’t want to always think about you. I hate it when I’m sitting alone and the only thing I can focus on for more than ten seconds is how beautiful your smile is, or how much I love the way you laugh.  I can’t do it anymore. It hurts too much.”

“Laf, I just- I don’t know! Don’t you know how unfair it is for you do to do this to me?” You finally spoke, your throat was dry and it gave your voice a scratchy edge.

“Unfair for me to do this to you?” He scoffed, raising his eyebrows.

“Laf I just need time to figure this ou-”

“I’m not going to wait for you Y/N.” Seconds after the words had slipped from his lips, he’d left that bench behind and you with it and that was the last time you would hear him say your name for long time.

You leaned over your sink and swallowed. You didn’t know why you were there, or even how you’d ended up there. You felt weak, it was like all the energy had been drained from your body and it just begged to collapse. You lowered yourself to the ground, leaning into the corner where two sets of cupboards intercepted. Something inside you compelled you to reach into your pocket. You curled into yourself, knees pressing harshly against your chest. Your hands shook like leaves helpless in the breeze as you opened the photo gallery app on your phone. You scrolled through the photos until you found the one you were looking for,

“C’mon guys. Act like you love each other.” Alexander groaned.

“We don’t.” You shouted back, moving closer to Lafayette, his hand finding the base of your spine.

“Let’s move on Alexander.” Lafayette droned. “Take the picture and keep walking.”

“At least smile.” Alex insisted.

“Why do you want a picture of us anyway?” You whined.

“Because one day you’ll be old and one of you will die and the other one will have to scour all the pictures from your younger days and you won’t be able to find any of them when you were happy together except for this one, and you will thank me. That’s why. Closer.” The diminutive immigrant demanded. You rolled your eyes and moved closer to Lafayette, wanting instead to stare at the backdrop of royal tinted peaks behind you, each one sprinkled with pine trees. Lafayette pressed his lips to your cheekbone when he found that Alex still wasn’t taking the picture. You burst out laughing at the absurdity of the situation and Alexander tapped on the phone screen to take the photo.

“Perfect!” He shouted.

“Hey no! I wasn’t ready!” You rushed toward him, reaching out for the phone. “Show me it!” You demanded, Alex danced away from you, “Alexander Hamilton show me the damn picture!” You shouted. Alexander handed you the phone once laughter had overtaken his ability to avoid you. You looked at the picture pushing your sunglasses to the top of your head to examine it. “Alex if you put this on the internet I swear I’ll end you!” You warned after discovering you were unable to find the delete button.

Lafayette peeked over your shoulder, “Oh come on ma petite amie, your laugh is adorable.”

“It looks terrible!” You argued, turning to face him.

“Non, you are absolutely magnifique.” He grinned.

You touched your cheek where you remembered the kiss landing. Your skin burned as you stared at the photo displayed on the screen. You suddenly felt overwhelmingly alone. Taking one last look at the image, you closed the app and dialed Peggy’s number.

A few rings later, her voice came through to you, “Hello?”

“Peggy I- I don’t want to do this alone anymore.” You gasped as if it would somehow keep you from crying.

“I’m coming over.” She answered after a brief silence, likely due to her initial surprise at how clear the heartache was in your voice. “Do I need to bring ice cream?”

“No.” You croaked. “Just be here.”

Peggy stepped through your door only minutes later, thank god you’d given her a key, you were in no shape to even stand up. She scanned the room for a bit before her gaze finally caught on you. “Oh Y/N/N.” She breathed. The youngest of the Schuylers rushed to your side, falling to her knees next to you.

“Baby.” She held out her arms for you, shifting until she was sitting cross legged. You fell into her arms, finally letting the tears fall. One dropped off the tip of your nose as you gripped Peggy’s arm. She placed her chin on top of your head.

“Peggy, why didn’t I say anything? I should’ve said something. Why couldn’t I just tell him I didn’t feel the same?” You sobbed.

“What do you mean honey?” She asked softly. You’d never told the rest of the squad anything about that night other than the fact that you and Lafayette had shared a rather passionate make out session.

“He told me he loved me. That night. He told me he loved me. And I left. I left without saying anything. I left without saying it back.” You moaned, the pain in your heart shown through your voice, it seemed to echo through the room, returning to your ears as an indecipherable, broken wail.

“Babe, you couldn’t have known. He caught you off guard. You can’t blame yourself for that.”

“Peggy, I want to feel his lips on mine again, I want to run my hands through his curls, I want to be wrapped in his arms and I want him to hold me. But now it’s too late. He’s moved on.”

She stroked your hair, “Trust me babe, he hasn’t moved on.”

“He told me.” Your voice broke painfully, “He said so on that bench, by Angie’s house. He told me he had to move on. And I didn’t know what to say. I don’t know what I feel about him. I don’t know. I wish I did.” You paused, “Pegs, do I love him?”

“I…” Started Peggy, “I think you do.” You sighed shakily. “But there’s no way I can tell for sure. That’s your call.”

“But Peggy I don’t know.” You emphasized, sitting up.

“I know. I know, honey. But no one can tell you how you feel, that’s up to you. Now c’mon, we’re either going out or watching a movie. What’s your decision?”

“Movie.” You answered immediately.

“I’ll make popcorn.” She smiled sympathetically at you one more time before rising to her feet and brushing the dust off of her dress.

You stared at your shelf of shoes, your eyes lingering on the tall black booties that sat in the center. You bypassed them, instead going for a set of red polka-dotted flats to go along with your lacy white dress.

“I don’t want to go.” You sighed, hopping into the passenger seat of Eliza’s minivan.

“Chin up baby girl.” She encouraged, pulling out of her parking spot in the lot of your apartment building. “I thought you two had patched things up.”

“No.” You scoffed, “Essentially, he told me he hated me and left. I was left on that bench to reflect on my thoughts and be even more confused about how I feel about him.”

“Aw, I’m sorry.” She frowned as she turned onto the main street. “Are you sure you still wanna do this? I’m pretty sure he’s going to be there.”

You sighed, “Yeah.”

You sat in a chair that was set against the corner of the room. You watched as all of John’s friends actually enjoyed the party he’d thrown in celebration of the- what was it? Oh yes, “the dawning of the springtime”. Joy. You almost felt guilty as you sulked in the corner, you should’ve been at least pretending to enjoy yourself. But to be truthful, you didn’t really have the energy to. You were confused and hurt and unsure, “partying” didn’t seem like the proper activity. You glared at the wall. Like many times before, your mind drifted back to Lafayette. You imagined again, what it was like to have his lips on yours, his hands exploring your skin, the way it felt when he’d taken your wrist and told you so clearly and so boldly, that he’d loved you. You remembered how it had felt and you couldn’t seem to put words to it. It was like the morning after a night of fitful thunderstorms, when you’d walk outside and find the sun shining so bright your eyes would ache, when you’d find all the brightest colors of flowers blooming outside, when the grass was so green it almost looked fake. It felt like the dreary world of before had been shattered into millions of pieces by the beauty that surrounded you now. That was what it felt like to run your hands through Lafayette’s hair, that was what it felt like to wrap your arms around his neck, and that was what it felt like to hear him say “I love you”.

You shot out of the chair and made a beeline for John. “I’m sorry John. I have to leave.” You spoke breathlessly.

“Are you sure? Eliza left already. You don’t have a ride and it’s starting to rain.”

“I’ll be fine.” You told him.

“Okay…” You turned on your heel and made for the door.

“Thank you!” You called before slipping out and running down the street. It was raining. An inconvenience, but it wouldn’t stop you. The raindrops fell on your face, their numbers rapidly increasing as you went on. You felt your dress getting soaked and your breathing becoming more labored. Adrenalin egged you on and you kept running, ignoring the stitch that had formed on your side. Lafayette hadn’t shown up to the party, and you desperately needed to tell him this face to face.

By the time you’d made it to Lafayette’s condo building, you were drenched in rain and sore from sprinting, You pressed the button for Lafayette’s condo.

“Hello.” He replied dryly from the intercom.

“Laf can you let me in?” You asked, biting your lip anxiously. You thought you heard him mutter something along the lines of ‘God, why do I let you do this to me?’ before the speaker buzzed and the lock clicked open. You sighed with relief and dragged the door open. You bypassed the elevator, instead opting for the stairs. Once you had reached Lafayette’s door you stopped and stayed there breathing heavily for a few seconds. You almost didn’t care how he’d react. Things were already so broken between you, whatever you’d say within the next few minutes would likely make no difference. Yet still, a guttural anxiety rose within you, for what, you didn’t know. You inhaled shakily once more before knocking on Lafayette’s door. He pulled it open immediately, as if he had been waiting for you.

“Did you walk?” His voice showed no emotion, you hadn’t heard emotion in his voice in a long time, it was to be expected.

“Yes.” You answered breathlessly.

“It’s a long way from your apartment…” He said. He stared down his shoes as if conflicted about what he was going to say next, “Are you alright?” You tilted your head to the side, he stared at you with furrowed brows and eyes wide, an expression you hadn’t seen his face twist into in a long time- concern.

“I-I’m fine.” You stuttered. “It may be far from my apartment but not John’s.”

“Oh I was supposed to go to that wasn’t I?” He asked absently, leaning against the doorframe. It was unusual to be so nonchalant with him, it almost felt wrong. You rolled your shoulders back once before taking yet another deep breath. God, why couldn’t you just say it?

“Lafayette?” You fidgeted with your fingers, staring down at them. C’mon, look him in the eye, you encouraged yourself. You met his eyes, his beautiful brown eyes, and you opened your mouth,

“I love you.” You felt your voice tugging, a begging sensation filling your lungs, drowning you. Was this how he felt? You watched as tears glazed his eyes and you couldn’t help thinking back to when your positions were reversed, when you’d said nothing, when you’d worked desperately to avoid his pleading gaze.

“I- I know I don’t deserve this Laf but please say something.” You choked. He threw his head backward, looking at the ceiling as if it held the answers he was searching for. He shook his head slightly, biting back a flood of tears. “Laf please say something.” You begged.

“Y/N-” He finally spoke. “You know that feeling in your gut? The one you have right now? It feels like all your insides are being eaten away, it feels like you’re going to throw up, but… at the same time, it feels like you’re falling and it feels like a million fireworks in your head, and it feels like you want to dance even. You know that feeling?” He asked. You nodded, taking a bold step toward him, he stepped backward at your action. “Hurts, doesn’t it?”

“For months. Every time I saw you. Every time we were both at Alex’s, every time you caught my eye across the street, every time I watched you smile. Every single time, that same feeling came back to me.” You expected to see him glaring at you, but when you looked up you found his face void of any emotion once again. “Every time, and it was torture.” You knew silence was your only answer, the safest. So you stuck with it.

“Months.” His voice rose alarmingly, “That was months ago!” He shouted. “What do you expect me to say?”

You yelled back with equal volume, “You don’t have to say anything!”

“I deserve silence! I deserve to be yelled at! I deserve whatever you can throw at me!” You sobbed. “I deserve it.” You whimpered, you covered your mouth with your hand and felt the tears run over it. The saltwater blurred your vision and your eyes shut to accommodate for it. You felt you were collapsing in on yourself. Everything being sucked into a painful void.

Until you felt a warmth surround you. It fought the cold that still hung on your shoulders from the pounding rains outside. It filled you back up with everything that had fallen into that black hole. You continued to bawl, whatever strength you had left in your fingers was put to work gripping the fabric of his soft t-shirt. Ugly sobs wracked your body and you pulled yourself closer.

“Non.” He muttered. “You do not deserve this. Anything I say to you is at the fault of only me.” You leaned your forehead against his chest, feeling his hand move up to stroke your wet hair gently. “What I’ve allowed myself to feel is not your fault. You don’t deserve any pain this world can offer.”

“It does not matter how much pain I have been through, there is no reason I should inflict it upon you.” You hiccuped once, your brain working to decipher what he’d said and what he meant by it. “I was supposed to move on. But every time I tried you pulled me right back in.”

“I-” You started to speak. He shushed you gently, beginning to sway a little bit.

“I love you too.” He kissed the top of your head and traced a circle on your back with his index finger.

“You- You do?” You asked.

“Obviously.” He chuckled. You tilted your head up and placed a hand on his jaw. He leaned down and pressed his lips to yours, softer and sweeter than the first time, but it felt almost exactly the same. The fireworks exploding blindingly behind your closed eyes. He could taste the salt of tears on your lips, but it made no difference to him. You were finally in his arms, his lips were finally on yours, and though you were in a soaked white dress and muddy flats, in his eyes, you were just as beautiful and just as sexy as the first time he’d set his lips on yours. But this time you weren’t running. This time your red polka-dot flats stayed right where they were.

List of Sons of Anarchy/Jax Teller stories and imagines.

Let me add a warning to this list. There are some material in these stories that may trigger some emotions. Just like the show there is violence in some of the stories. So I am warning you now. If it is too much for you, please stop reading. Thanks!

Forever/Dean Tag List

Hey guys! So my forever/dean tag lists have quite a few people on it and I think its been a while since I’ve cleaned it up. Some tags don’t work and there’s some that never acknowledge that they’ve been tagged with a like, reblog, or comment. I don’t know if you just aren’t getting the tags or if you would like to be taken off because you’ve lost interest in my writing. If that’s the case, you can ask to be taken off, it won’t hurt my feelings. I don’t want to flood people with tags when they aren’t wanted cause it plugs up your notifications. So I will add my tags under the cut.

If you’ve been tagged and you do not want to be, just let me know through an ask or a private message. If you still want on it then just click the heart on this and I’ll know to keep you on. If you want to move tag lists, let me know through an ask. I just don’t want anyone to feel like they’re stuck when they don’t want to be.

Anyone after a week of not replying in some way will be taken off cause I’ll take that as you no longer wish to be tagged. Thanks guys!

What to read after Throne of Glass

If you, like me, are still going through complete Sarah J Maas withdrawal, and can’t really stand to wait for her next books, check out the list below to tide you over! Each book has many of the things I adored about both ToG and ACOMAF: strong and interesting female characters, magic, deeply beautiful writing, love stories to cry about, and an all around sense of adventure. If you have any more recommendations to add, definitely let me know!

Black Jewels: Anne Bishop

I just finished this series, and I am still amazed by how masterfully Anne Bishop weaves her stories. Welcome to the Dark Kingdom, a matriarchal realm ruled by strong queens and the males that support and serve them (Rowan and Aedion anyone?). There is a prophecy fortelling the rise of a Queen with more power than even the High Lord of Hell himself, which gives us a wonderful story full of scheming, war, adventure, and a badass court I would kill to be a part of. Prepare your heart!

Graceling by Kristian Cashore

Graceling is the best series for all you folks who couldn’t get enough of badass assassin Celaena. Katsa is an assassin Celaena would be proud of, due to her rare ability as a Graceling. She is Graced with a killing power, and has spent her life as the king’s tool in doling out his reign of terror. In waltzes Po, Graced with fighting, and here to shake everything Katsa knows about her world. Cashore definitely gives us a twist Sarah would most certainly support!

The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski

This book aligns more with the romance and court mystique that Sarah presents so wonderfully in ToG and ACOMAF. Kestrel is the daughter of a general who helped the emperor conquer territory after territory. As she is faced with a choice, marry or join the military, Kestrel finds a friend in one of the slaves from the conquered people, and so begins one of the most interesting political schemes I have read in awhile! I haven’t finished the trilogy yet, because I am out of the country and can’t get my hands on the final book, but I would highly recommend it.

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson

Cue another really cool empire written by an author who isn’t afraid to be inventive or go beyond the normal realms of fantasy. Vin is another Celaena-esque character, as the abandoned street child who turned thief who struggles to stay alive. When a mentor takes her under his wing, she discovers that her luck on the streets might be more than she could ever explain. Magic, mystery, and of course, a few court balls thrown in make for a wonderful mix. Warning: the last book made me cry. Like really cry. But in a good, I’m-still-mad-at-you-but-I-understand-and-respect-your-story-line type of way.

Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima

Raisa is everything that I have ever wanted in a princess. She is intelligent, passionate, feisty, and super compassionate. So when a war arises between the clans and the wizards, you can bet she has goals to achieve and empires to shake up. Throw Han Alister into the mix, a street wise leader, and things get tricky and fireworks explode. One of my favorite love stories in a long time, because it isn’t a story about just romantic love, but also what the love of a princess for her country can do.

Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder

Yelena is set for execution for murder, but is given the choice to be the next food taster of the Commander of Ixia. As if the threat of having poison in her system wasn’t enough, she is also given a dose of Butterfly’s Dust, which she needs every day to stay alive, and can of course only get from the chief of security. Fighting for her life soon becomes more than just guessing the right poison, but also a game of magic, love, and all out war. Best kind of combo out there!

Legend by Marie Lu

This is the only book in the list to be set in a dystopian universe as opposed to a kingdom, but with a prodigy like June, no one can make any complaints. After a war tore the country apart, the Western United States is under the martial rule of the Republic, and June is their perfectly groomed soldier golden child. Day, on the other hand, is a slums boy who has become the Republic’s most wanted criminal. What happens when their paths cross is enough to make any country tremble, and to keep me hanging on to every word!

And finally:

Literally anything by Tamora Pierce!

Tamora Pierce has been my favorite author since I was a little girl. Each of her series is set in the same universe, based around the story of an interesting and kickass female character, from the first female warrior to a wild-mage. I first found these stories when my mother decided my sister and I didn’t have enough strong women in our literature and Tamora really rose to the occasion. Start with the first series, Song of the Lioness, and work your way from there! I have reread her books at least once every year since I was a little girl and they get better every time. I cannot recommend these books enough!

If you read or have read any of these books, feel free to shoot me a message; I am always ready to geek out over them.

New theme, bio description and sidebar is up! You can expect several links to be added in the coming months, including a list of charities I am affiliated with/supporting and the various different stores and art/writing of friends as well.

Including my own links to recipes, projects I’m working on and some other fun things as well which I’m not inclined to divulge anything about just now :p

I’m also attempting to add a working search bar (hahahaha) but in the meantime you’ll just have to use the url function, so for example

Let me know if anything is broken. Hopefully the new link system at the side is easier to use than my old theme <3

The List

Since the portal accident when he was fourteen, he’d been keeping a record of all ghostly abilities that he exhibited as well as a short explanation of each power. At age fifteen, with everything that had happened and continued to happen, Danny was still just as confused about his ghost-half as he had been a year previously.

Maddie and Jack had offered to analyze his notes to determine whether or not his abilities were finite or if they would continue to grow along with him, which Danny had refused at first. When Danny discovered that he was continuing to add to his ever-growing and ever-changing list of powers, the boy consented to letting his parents look at his recordings. His only question was: “Am I finished getting new powers, or should I expect more?”

This was why both adults were slack-jawed in their lab, Danny and Jazz upstairs with their own business to attend to, staring at the expanse of paper before them. This was his latest, most recently revised list and it was more than impressive; organized by the amount of energy spent on each ability.

Accelerated Healing - The title underestimates the actual ability. Mortal wounds become not-so-mortal when in ghost form, unless the central-core energy is specifically targeted to be harmed or weakened. When in ghost form and with enough energy, anything but complete disintegration would bring me little (real) harm. In human form, I can tap into these healing abilities to a lesser extent of my ghost self. (Energy Drain - Instinctual)

Enhanced Sensation - All of my five senses are much more sensitive. (Energy Drain - Instinctual)

Ecto-Location (Ghost Sense) - When a ghost is nearby, a cold puff of air from my core is sent out (usually through my mouth). If I focus just slightly, I can also determine the ecto-signature of the particular ghost (provided they are familiar to me, i.e. Skulker, Box Ghost, etc.…) (Energy Drain - Instinctual)

Invisibility - Manipulating both myself and the light around me, I can make it so I am unable to be seen without special equipment. (Energy Drain - Instinctual)

Intangibility - I can become abstract in a way that means I cannot be touched by any human-world item not meant for catching and/or harming ghosts. Tied slightly to invisibility; often, when intangible, I revert to a more corporeal form that is difficult to see (not impossible, but difficult nonetheless). (Energy Drain - Instinctual)

Flight - Probably because of the composition of ectoplasm in comparison to the Earth’s atmosphere, I can fly without accessories. (Energy Drain - Instinctual)

Body Modification - Includes (but probably not limited to): formation of a ghostly tail when flying at high speeds, ethereal fog materializing between body parts to stretch them, also I can shift to a rubber-like constitution at will. (Energy Drain - Instinctual to Low)

Ghost Stinger - If I react quickly enough, I can turn other ghost’s ectoplasmic energy against them and re-direct the energy. Often this produces an electrified effect on the ‘already-used’ (meaning the energy wasn’t mine to begin with) ectoplasm. If I choose to, I can use energy from my own core to amplify this effect. (Energy Drain - Low)

Ecto-Blasts - I can release energy from my ghostly core outwards in varying degrees of power (up to my control when coming to how much I want to release). (Energy Drain - Low to Moderate)

Ectoplasmic Manipulation - Instead of unfocused ectoplasmic energy, I can dictate what the energy from my core does. Shields, ecto-weapons, and bindings (like chain or rope) are my most often used forms of ectoplasmic manipulation. (Energy Drain - Low to Moderate)

Cryokinesis - Same premise as Ecto-Blasts, provided I concentrate on cold energy rather than unfocused ectoplasm. (Energy Drain - Low to Moderate)

Telekinesis - By surrounding an object (or objects) with a light form of ectoplasm, I can move things around. Size and weight of the item are factors, but longer distances make it harder to move the object(s). (Energy Drain - Moderate)

Ice Fog - If I slowly release cold energy from my core and with it releasing minute amounts of raw ectoplasmic energy, I can create a dense icy fog that decreases visibility around a particular area. (Energy Drain - Moderate to High)

Beacon - Using energy from my core, I can create a beacon of white-green light (from my hands) that attracts ghosts in the near vicinity-friend or foe. The stronger the beacon, the greater area the light reaches (meaning more ghosts the beacon calls to). They seem to be entranced by the light enough so that they’re unaware of their surroundings until I stop the beacon. (Energy Drain - Moderate to High)

Duplication - While making sure not to split my central core, I can manipulate the ectoplasm inside of me to create an identical copy of myself. The more core energy I use, the easier the copy is to maintain, the more durable they are, and the closer they are to. Side note, memory transfer is still a pain. Currently able to maintain 2 low-stamina clones, 1 moderate-stamina clone. (Energy Drain - High)

Ghostly Wail - Using the raw energy from my central core, I can create a series of ectoplasmic sound-waves that do severe damage to those in range of the attack. Also slightly inflicts damage on those not in direct attack but who are close enough to me that the screams penetrate their ears. (Energy Drain - High to Critical)

Arctic Howl - Using more central core energy with focus on its element of ice, a much more devastating effect to the original Wail can be achieved by the waves manifesting into a blizzard. The above effects of the original Ghostly Wail remain in place with the addition of the deep-freeze extending the attack radius. (Energy Drain - Critical)

Jack was the first to speak up.

“Heh… Who knew he was holding out on us this whole time?” He chuckled with an odd sort of smile, still unable to process that his fifteen-year-old son possessed the power that he did. Maddie was still gobsmacked as she flipped through the pages of edits that her son had done.

How he was doing abysmally in English class with this obvious mastery of the language was beyond her, for one thing.
For another; after his list of powers, Danny had composed several theories and hypotheses that could put other doctors in the Paranormal sciences to shame. They were well thought out and carefully laid down with just enough proof threaded in with his theories that made them seem credible. The woman seated herself and blinked. Who knew? She’d always thought that it would be her daughter to follow in her footsteps, even when Jasmine had proclaimed her love for psychology. Jazz had been the one with the book-smarts and Danny had been the boy with his heart in anything he does. The way his notebook looked, however, told her that Danny wasn’t letting on nearly how intelligent he actually was; and it also told her that he had a knack for the thing that her and Jack had devoted their lives to. Rather than her eldest taking over the Fenton family tradition of ghost-hunting when they were gone, it seemed that her youngest was more than equipped with the knowledge to step up to the plate now.

For once in her life, Madeline Cassandra Fenton was truly stumped. She’d thought that she’d have an easy answer to her son’s question, but she was absolutely, 100% baffled just by what Danny was stating simply in his journal as if it were nothing. Jack was too, if his calculating expression told her anything. Despite his tactless way of approaching situations and his general lack of common sense, Jack Fenton was truly a genius and had a wonderfully creative mind; it was one of the many reasons that she’d fallen in love with him. He was deep in his ‘scientist-mode’, as he said it to be. Brows drawn together, the man nodded and looked to his wife.

“I think that he’s yet to apex, as far as these powers go. From the looks of things in here,” he referred to the generous edits made to the notebook-including the changing ‘energy-drain’ levels, “the longer he has these powers, the more control he has. Probably even the strongest attacks he has now will be nothing if we give it a couple years.” Jack grinned like a child in a candy shop. “Who knows, Mads, he might just be the most powerful ghost ever! And he’s only halfway there!” Maddie found herself smiling at her husband’s eagerness.
“Maybe, Jack, maybe…” She trailed off in favor of looking over the book again while Jack began rambling about he and Danny teaming up to be a dynamic duo of sorts.
Through all of the questions that his notebook had left her with, one thing was clear to Maddie when she finally left the lab that evening; she had really only just begun to learn the double-life her son had been leading for the past year and a half.

And she was more than ready to continue learning, as any good scientist would be.

Dear Followers,

One last update we would like to add. As of the new mods being added to this blog, we will be adding the characters from Ace Attorney Investigations 2 to the list of characters you can ask as well. Hopefully you will be as excited as we are for this new development.

Just a short update, to let you all know what can come in the near future.

Some questions

Ok so there are lots of things I’m confused about or even just wondering about, mostly about the TAZ timeline, so I’m gonna list ‘em all here and if anyone wants to add on to it or clear some things up or just theorize with me, have at it!!

  • The world we’re currently in (let’s call it World A) has Merle’s family and fans of Taako’s cooking show, so we can reasonably assume that they started off in this world. The Director said that the IPRE crew came ‘to this world,’ which implies that the IPRE started off in, say, World B. Does that mean Taako and Magnus somehow traveled to another world on their own to join IPRE?
  • Magnus is from ‘somewhere else’ - can we assume that this is the same as World B, or did he come from another world entirely?
  • As far as I remember, Magnus hasn’t met anyone he knows in World A - is it possible that Ravensroost is in the world he’s from, and he came over fairly recently with IPRE?
  • One last one and here’s the one I find most puzzling…. how the FUCK did Merle and Taako get hired by the IPRE. Like, “the Institute of Planar Research and Exploration” - this is a SCIENCEY thing. The Director speaks 8 languages. This is like…. this is like Martha Stewart and an old hippie dude from another dimension turning up and being selected for a NASA mission. what the fuck

Week 1

Alright, I think this will be a good way to keep myself motivated and working towards my fitness goals: a weekly update. If you don’t want these posts cluttering your dash I will be tagging them as “fitjosh,” so feel free to blacklist it or whatever its called.

I got a membership to Crunch Fitness on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. It is my first time ever doing so. Most of my past exercise was done in various classes for college credit or, when I was still working there, at the Tae Kwon Do Dojang that I was teaching at.

I spent most of my time stretching and limbering up, running through some very light kicking techniques in the big open spot where they hold zumba classes and stuff. Its kind of a free area with a lot of space, and you’re allowed to be barefoot in there. I ran through a few of the custom forms that we put together at my school (mostly just blocking techniques while in a horse stance), and then the first few forms. I made it through Il jang, Ee jang, Sam jang, and Sa jang before I wasn’t able to maintain form throughout the whole form, then switched over to the heavy bag for about ten, fifteen minutes. I’m gonna have to get used to kicking the hanging heavy bags because so much of my kicking experience is from the paddles/mits or standing bags. The impact when I do round/roundhouse kicks hurts my knees hahahaha. I have to wear shoes when I kick them though and that feels so weiiiird I don’t like it.

I’m gonna brink my escrima stick for extra bone conditioning, try to take some videos of me training, and get in another session on Friday. I’m still recovering hahahaha.

My biggest weakness is my stamina. It was always an issue for me growing up because of how rapidly my weight would fluctuate. I was in really good shape in high school and then I just EXPLODED and put on like fifty pounds, and I was never really able to get in the time to train my stamina up with that added weight. Now its biting me in the ass hahahaha. but I’ll get there! When my stamina starts improving and I’m not “can barely walk” sore after my martial arts workouts, I’ll start working in lifting and resistance training machines.

Oh, and I took a cold shower this morning. Holy shit do I feel amazing. I also burned 400 calories walking today hahahaha. I had so many errands to do.

Anyway, I’ll have an update next week, where I’ll talk about my first session with a personal trainer, and my attempts to take cold showers every day. See ya!

rover-kelevra  asked:

That's cool. It was really hard to choose just one prompt because there's so many great ones on the sentence list. So me second choice is “You know, I would help, but making fun of you is so much more satisfying.”

Since both @rover-kelevra and @jessicafuckingjones picked the same prompt for Never Let You Down, I told them both to pick a second prompt.

I love how perfectly Jyn that line it. Doesn’t it just completely scream “Sassy”? Add in a little K-2SO snark and you’ve got this little ficlet…

In a hunt to find Cassian Andor within Echo Base, Jyn had learned one of the best strategies was to look and listen for K-2SO. A droid almost 7 feet tall, bearing Imperial markings and a caustic voice nearly always on made a much easier target than an intelligence captain who survived based on his ability to blend in.

Today, for instance, the chances of Jyn searching Cassian’s U-Wing and seeing feet sticking out from underneath the controls were slim to none; hearing K-2SO’s sarcastic remarks to the captain, though? Much, much more likely.

“Cassian, I understand the mechanics of this ship much better than you do. The number of sparks flying would be greatly diminished if I were to take over repairs.” Kay stood behind the pilot’s seat, and Jyn almost expected him to have his arms crossed in frustration.

“Kay,” came the disgruntled reply from Cassian. “I’ve almost got it.”

Which, of course, was followed by another large spark and a quick, muffled curse.

“Key word being ‘almost’ by the looks of it,” Jyn teased from the entrance to the cockpit. Neither Cassian nor K-2SO had noticed her entrance, and both jumped at her words. Cassian let out another curse as he banged his head crawling out from the controls. “Don’t hurt yourself, Captain.”

“Jyn Erso,” the droid greeted her, and Jyn nodded in response.

Glancing down at the new burns on Cassian’s hands, Jyn remarked, “Maybe you should let Kay help you.”

Cassian responded with a glare. “I have fixed a ship before.”

“That is not obvious by the burns on your hand,” Kay piped up.

“He’s got a point, you know.”

“Thank you, Jyn Erso.”

“You’re welcome, Kaytuesso.”

Jyn bit back a laugh at the incredulous look at Cassian’s face as his eyes swiveled between the pair.

“You,” Cassian pointed the spanner in his hand at Jyn. “Are not helping. At all.”

“You know, I would help, but making fun of you is so much more satisfying.”

“I never thought I would long for the day when you and Kay were arguing,” Cassian grumbled.

“You are the one that wanted us to get along,” K-2 informed him, and Jyn had never felt more tempted to give the droid a high-five. (Though the likelihood of K-2 simply staring at her in confusion far outweighed the likelihood of him understanding what she was trying to do.)

“I just never actually pictured it happening,” Jyn pointed out, and she took Cassian’s answering grunt as agreement. “Does this truce extend past making fun of Cassian, or does it end here?”

“Statistically speaking, it would be beneficial if it extended beyond here.”

Cassian laughed. “If I knew all it would take to make you two get along was a few burns, I would have done it a while ago.”

“You misunderstand,” Kay replied, his tone haughty, much like Jyn remembered from when they first met. “I said it would be beneficial to get along. That in no way translates to an increased likelihood of Jyn and I getting along.”

Even as Cassian groaned, Jyn found she couldn’t disagree.
