Hux has been in a loveless marriage with someone high up in the First Order since he was in his early 20s, it was purely political and arranged by his father. Hux meets his new co commander Kylo and eventually starts an affair with him
[Admiral NICOL, 03:07]: My Destroyer will be crossing paths with yours in two standard days. I’ll be coming on board to see you.
[General HUX, 03:08]: As you wish.
[Admiral NICOL, 03:08]: You will be ready for me.
[General HUX, 03:09]: Of course.
[Admiral NICOL, 03:11]: I expect your wedding band to have not left your finger since my last visit.
[General HUX, 03:12]: It has not.
[Admiral NICOL, 03:13]: Good. Have there been any major changes since my last visit?
“Who are you messaging?”
Hux is sitting back against the headboard of his grand bed, and looks up from his datapad and back down to where Kylo lies beside him, eyes blinking open slowly from his sleep.
“Nicol,” Hux answers with a sneer, reaching to brush Kylo’s hair from his eyes. “He’s coming to visit in a few days.”
Kylo groans. Underneath the covers, he slides his arm around Hux’s waist, leaning in closer to kiss Hux’s hip, pressing his open mouth against his pale skin and sucking gently.
“He can’t find out about us,” Hux says, eyes locked on the way Kylo’s lips look divine against his skin. “We’ll have to stay away from each other.”
“Can’t do that,” Kylo murmurs. “I have to be with you. You’re not his to command.”
It’s as though the golden ring around Hux’s finger tightens at Kylo’s taunting words. Hux looks down at it as Kylo shifts next to him, sitting up beside him.
“He’s my husband, Ren. I have to–”
Hux’s sentence melts away into Kylo’s mouth, consumed by his kiss, every one of his thoughts shifting away from his husband and to Kylo Ren; the one Hux wishes he was betrothed to.
“He’s not your husband, Hux,” Kylo says, shaking his head. “You see him once a year where he comes on board, has sex with you, threatens to contact your father about your lack of progress since his last visit, then leaves. A husband is supposed to kiss you good morning, bring you flowers, hug you when you’re down, hug you when you’re happy, fight anyone who brings harm to you, stay with you regardless of differences. So, forgive me for refusing to leave your side once that idiot is on board.”
Hux blinks, amazed and enamoured; feelings that have never once graced his heart in the years he’s been married to Admiral Nicol.
“Careful, Ren,” Hux says, reaching up to cup Kylo’s cheek. “You sound as though you’re plotting treason against my husband. ”
Kylo smiles, eyes locked with Hux’s, a sparkle in his dark eyes that Hux has never seen before. But he’s distracted suddenly by Kylo’s hand smoothing along his own, gliding up his fingers with the gentlest touch that Hux has ever felt. There’s a soft grip around his ring, pulling it away from him until it’s completely off and cast aside, tossed into the darkness that surrounds Hux’s bed.
Kylo says nothing, though neither does Hux. Instead, Hux picks up his data pad, finding his messaging application still open, Nicol’s question still unanswered. With a smirk on his lips, Hux begins typing.
[General HUX, 03:31]: Yes, sir. I’m afraid quite a lot has changed in your absence. But I’m sure we will discuss things upon your arrival to my ship. Let us hope that your journey is a safe one. Best wishes, dear husband, and long live the First Order.
I’m just kinda imagining Shiro being Ultra Guilty about not being able to find Matt after his escape, and feeling really bad about injuring him and then never seeing him again. Shiro probably gets really worried that Matt will hate him and he can’t really remember much so hurting Matt is really most of what he remembers of Matt during their time in the Galra prison. Meanwhile, Matt probably knows that Shiro feels bad, probably thinks about how Shiro will remember hurting him, how Shiro will feel guilty and Matt wants to tell him that he’s ok, that he’s not mad, but he can’t and it’s killing him.
Shiro tries to cling as much as he can to the bits of Matt he can remember, and he wants to remember it all because he knows he might never see Matt again. Sometimes if he’s walking to his room late at night he’ll hear quiet sobs coming from Pidge’s room. Shiro knows that it’s all his fault. If he’d only been better, or smarter, he could have done something. He should have tried harder and he shouldn’t have been so impulsive. And now the image of Matt’s terrified face after he attacked him is burned into his memory.
Sometimes Matt wonders whether Shiro is dead and if he does get free, if he’ll ever see Shiro again. And then, suddenly, all Matt can see is Shiro’s pained face as he whispers “Take care of your father,” as he gets dragged away to fight. Oh god, how Matt hopes Shiro got away somehow, but he knows in his heart that Shiro might have died even moments after he was taken away from the arena.
Sometimes, when he can catch a glimpse of the stars from inside the prison, Matt will look out and wonder if Shiro really did make it out. He’ll wonder if Shiro is out there somewhere, or if he’s back on earth, and then, at the thought of Shiro back on earth, he realizes Shiro doesn’t know if he’s alive either. All he can imagine is Shiro having to explain to his mother and Katie, having to explain “I don’t know what happened to Matt,” and that’s when Matt vows that he’s going to escape some day. Because he has to make it back to his family, has to know what happened to Shiro.
Not knowing, Matt thinks, not knowing is almost worse than a solid answer. At least if Shiro was dead he could begin to grieve, but as long as things are uncertain his heart won’t let him release the glimmer of hope. It won’t let him get rid of the fantasies of Shiro being safe and happy back on earth.
Shiro knows he has to remain calm, he has to be the team’s leader and needs to stay strong. Yet every time Pidge announces she’s got some sort of lead, some kind of evidence that might lead them to Matt, he can’t help but feel a tiny glimmer of hope, and he tries to push it away because he knows Matt is probably dead.
Shiro, too, decides that uncertainty is worse than knowing for sure that Matt is dead. Every Galra ship that they destroy, every ship that they watch explode, Shiro wonders if Matt is on there, and he wonders if Matt’s blood is on his hands again. He doesn’t know it, but Pidge thinks the same thing every time as well.
In his darkest moments, when he feels like giving up, Matt remembers Shiro’s desperate face. He remembers Shiro’s voice, telling him to take care of his father. And Matt remembers back on earth, Shiro quietly reminding him to take care of himself, and how he’d reply the same way every time. “But who’s going to take care of you?” And Matt remembers that, and he remembers when he vowed that he’d make it out, for Shiro.
If Shiro’s mantra during his time with the Galra was “Patience yields focus,” then Matt’s is that he has to make it out for Shiro. Even if Shiro is dead, Matt knows the least he can do is escape instead. The least he can do is let Shiro’s family know too, because Matt knows for every time he thinks of his father, of Katie, of his mother, that Shiro must be thinking of his family too.
At some point, Pidge picks up on Shiro’s carefully concealed emotions every time she shares any information about finding Matt, and she makes sure she lets him be the first to know anything she finds. After that, they cling to each other trying desperately to find the reassurance that only the safe discovery of Matt can bring them.
Shiro still thinks Pidge might resent him a little for when he tore her away from the Galra ship on Arus, when the robeast was coming. He understands her reasoning, that she would be willing to risk serious injury to find any clue about Matt. He would too, but he knows that they could have died, and that dead men cannot find Matt. She never picked up on the desperation in his voice, the conflict in his expression. He wonders if he had stayed another moment, if they would have found Matt. Shiro tells himself that living in the past is foolish, even as he replays Matt’s fearful expression in his head for the millionth time.
Matt finds that missing Shiro is like losing a part of yourself, like a dull ache that fades but never really goes away, and that it is like a million instant replays of Shiro’s desperate expression. Shiro finds that missing Matt is like the anxiety of misplacing something important, like a persistent thought in the back of his mind, there at all times, and that it is like a million instant replays of the fear and shock in Matt’s eyes.
Every time Shiro glimpses Pidge out of the corner of his eye, it’s like a stab to his heart. When he was first being rescued back on Earth, when he first caught sight of Pidge he thought that she was Matt. They look so similar, especially now that she’s cut her hair short, and he tries to hide his pain because he is the leader and he needs to be strong for his team. He can’t let them know how broken he is inside, how every time he sees Pidge, he thinks he breaks a little bit more.
During the battle with Zarkon, when they’re losing, and everything is going wrong, Shiro thinks of Matt. He thinks of his last glimpses of Matt, he thinks of what Matt was like back on Earth, and he decides that he can’t die now. He has to live, because he just knows that Matt is out there somewhere. He knows Pidge got new data from Slav’s prison, which gives him hope. And Shiro knows he can’t let himself die knowing that the last Matt saw of him was when he was being attacked.
Matt doesn’t know why, but one day, he’s managed to catch a glimpse of the stars through a window, and something just feels terribly wrong. He thinks of Shiro, at the exact same moment the team is running towards the Black Lion, only to find it empty, to find Shiro missing. Then, Matt is dragged away from the window and everything is the same as always, and still he repeats to himself that he has to make it out for Shiro.
His words beat at her ears like the pounding of a drum, and suddenly it was more than Arya could stand. She wanted Riverrun, not Acorn Hall; she wanted her mother and her brother Robb, not Lady Smallwood or some uncle she never knew.

@wingheadshellhead made a post so I started writing a stevetony thing. Maybe I’ll add more to it at some point? Maybe. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
“au where tony, despite being more of a cat person, has a dog, and steve, despite being more of a dog person, has a cat and their pets end up being friends and getting into trouble w/ the neighbors together and this is how they meet”
Also does anyone have suggestions for what Steve would name his cat? I’m sooo bad at naming things.
Yes, Tony names his dog Cap (a golden retriever) in a non-powered AU, because he’s that much of a dork. Love that boy.
Cap has been missing for two hours and Tony is officially ready to start tearing his hair out.
It’s his own fault, really. Tony knows that Cap has learned how to nudge the gate open with her nose, but he’d been too busy making a morning coffee before heading off to the university to pay too much attention to her when he let her out into the backyard after she’d scarfed down her gourmet breakfast of kibble. Tony was exhausted; he had been up late in his shop, lost track of time and only managed to stumble upstairs at two in the morning, bleary-eyed and covered in grease stains.
Niall said that he has been listening to many 80s stuff, specially to Don Henley, and that Slow Hands may have a similar sound (heavy bass and funky guitar sound), so in order to be able to get an idea of how Slow Hands MAY sound like, for those who don’t know Don Henley, here are some of his most known 80s songs:
Prompt: “Sorry I ruined your life. Maybe you should’t have married me.” “Tell me what they did to you.” “I won’t let anyone hurt you. You’re safe with me.”
Warnings: THERE IS A FAIR AMOUNT OF VIOLENCE IN THIS DRABBLE READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.
You knew it was wrong, but you couldn’t help it. He deserved way better than you. He didn’t deserve to be dragged down by you and your silliness at all. After everything that has happened he had an organization to run. He didn’t need to have to look after a woman too.
You had packed enough food and clothes for a good month or so. As long as you weren’t jumped you would be fine, and maybe if Jooheon didn’t find you either. He would take this entire situation the wrong way. He probably thought you were leaving him for an entire different reason.
The one thing you didn’t anticipate was being homeless. You had been in this business for too long to go to your family members for help, or use cards to buy anything. It could all be tracked, but you didn’t have enough cash for a place to stay. You basically had been living in alleyways for the past week. Not entirely ideal, but they hadn’t found you yet so that was a plus. Currently you were just walking around looking for the best place to sleep tonight, and even possibly find a job. You were casually walking down a street when you found a decent looking alleyway. As you progressed further into it you found the perfect place to sleep for the night. You started laying out your sleeping bag, when you heard someone walk into the alley.
“I found her,” you heard a man yell to someone behind him.
“Shit,” you muttered, it had to be Jooheon. You immediately grabbed your bag and started darting to get further into the alley where they wouldn’t be able to see you and you could sneak out.
“Slow down darling,” a man said as he grabbed the hood on your old, beat down sweatshirt. “We’re not with Jooheon but, we do have a message for him.” He put his forearm against your throat and slammed you against the brick wall behind you. “We know about Shownu, and how he died. Now Jooheon is in charge right? When he finds you tell him that the Vice Lords did this.”
“Piss off,” you spat in the man’s face.
“Ooh, now that’s gonna get you in more trouble one day, and that day… is today.” you felt one sharp jab under your ribs. Shortly after, you felt another sharp pain strike slightly off to the side of the previous one, and another on the opposite side of the first strike. This man then released the pressure upon your chest caused by his forearm. You dropped on the ground, and felt yourself bleed out on the alleyway floor.
After maybe a minute and a half or so you heard a set of steps running toward you. It had to be the man coming to finish you off. You felt a hand grasp your shoulder and another lift your chin up. You ripped your head out from within his grasp.
“Fuck off. You’re not going to get him by using me. So just kill me,” you yelled.
“Y/N it’s me.” You looked up to see someone that looked like Minhyuk, but you couldn’t tell.
“Minhyuk?” you asked feebly before collapsing onto him.
The last thing you heard before you passed out was, “I found her Jooheon, and it’s not good.”
You awoke to the sound of a heart monitor beeping ever so viciously. You slowly parted your eyelids, and carefully examined your surroundings. Upon closer examination, you realized that someone was holding your hand and resting their hand on top of it. You tried ever so slightly to wiggle out of their grasp.
“Y/N? You’re awake?” It was Jooheon.
“Barely,” you groaned.
“Tell me what they did to you” he asked sternly knowing you weren’t going to tell him otherwise.
“Well, you obviously know the physical trauma.”
“Yes, but why did they want to hurt you?” he kept pressing.
“They know about my brother,” you sighed, “they know he is dead, and that you took over.”
“Why did you run off?” he asked solemnly.
“Jooheon, I’m too much of a distraction to you. After Hyunwoo passed, not only was it super stressful for me, but you ended up having to take over. You needed to focus, and not have me sit there and keep you from doing your job.”
He turned his head up to you, “I’m sorry I ruined your life, maybe you shouldn’t have married me.”
“Joo, it was my choice, I was distracting you, like I did Hyunwoo. That’s why I left. This is all on me. It is not at all your fault.”
He slowly started to calm his anger and hurt. “You will never, ever be a distraction in my eyes. I love you so much.”
“I am a distraction, it’s how he died because I’m a distraction. They even told me so.”
“Who did this to you?” He was even more stern than before.
“The Vice Lords.” You heard Jooheon mutter something under his breat, and you could’ve sworn you heard the word shit.
“There is no way in hell you are a distraction baby. I’m so sorry, and from now on, I promise, I won’t let anybody hurt you. You’re safe with me.”
A/N: I hope you all like it! I really liked writing it!! Also @kawaii-hedgehog, you said to tag you in some good fics. Idk if this is good but it is a fic XD.
