Be My Boyfriend

[ao3]

“Dean, be my boyfriend!” Castiel hissed.

Dean’s attention was pulled away from Charlie (who snorted into her drink) when Castiel grabbed his arm.

“Uh,” Dean said, feeling like he was missing out on some vital information. Castiel’s wide eyes were a little too bright and his cheeks were flushed with pink, indicating that he was probably a little bit drunk, though that still didn’t help clear up the situation.

“Come here!” Castiel dragged Dean by the arm across the crowded room until they stood in front of a short brunette who Dean thought was named Meg. Castiel wrapped his arm around Dean’s waist and squeezed him to his side.

“I told you!” he told Meg triumphantly. “I have a boyfriend!”

Meg looked Dean up and down incredulously. “You’re dating Dean Winchester?”

Starting to catch on, Dean put a possessive arm around Castiel’s shoulders. “Yeah, he is. Got a problem with that?”

To save money while attending college in NYC, Stiles and Derek decide to rent one tiny apartment together. With one bed.

*whispers* I have no idea if any of this is realistic. Don’t judge me.

You guys know by now that practically everything I write is so so fluffy, but this is just like, a whole other level. A little over 4k words of enemies-to-lovers, bed-sharing, & cuddling. ;)

on ao3

*

The thing is, Stiles is pretty sure he can’t afford to breathe the air in New York City, let alone rent an apartment there. But it’s also been his lifelong dream to go to NYU, same as his mom, and he’s just gotten his acceptance letter in the mail along with a hefty scholarship offer. So he has a bit of a conundrum on his hands.

Enter Derek, who has a (relatively) dirt cheap apartment in Queens.

Okay, so Derek calls it an “apartment.” Stiles calls it an “attic closet.”

It’s nothing but a narrow bed, a foot or so of walking space between that and the wall, and a lone shelf by the door to hold the microwave and all of Derek’s possessions that can’t fit under the bed. There’s not even enough room to open the door all the way; the edge of the door hits the edge of the bed, and then you have to shimmy into the room.

The sad thing is that Stiles can’t even afford that.

He can, however, afford half of it.

“So you’re going to share a bed,” Scott says, looking concerned.

“Yes,” Stiles says.

“No,” Derek says at the same time.

Scott looks more concerned.

Stiles sighs. “Okay, so it’s like this. Derek’s going to be doing the whole normal person schedule, up at the buttcrack of dawn” (Derek rolls his eyes) “and out working and studying and stuff all day and back in bed asleep by 11 pm, and I’m going to be taking all evening classes and working the night shift!”

“We won’t actually ever be in the same place at the same time,” Derek clarifies. “He gets it during the day; I get it at night.”

“Because we can’t stand each other,” Stiles adds, in case Scott is thinking of getting his hopes up that this whole roommates thing is going to be some kind of bromance.

Favorite Adam moments

It’s Adam Parrish’s birthday and since he’s a character that has made me bite my fingernails and yell at the page and grin like an idiot and maybe even get a moist eye or two (this despite being spoiled to his ending), here are some of my favorite Adam moments in (I think) chronological order:

X-Men

B-DAY

Imagine Being Deadpool’s Partner In Crime

For My Followers

“Wade! Wade! Wake the fuck up!” you hiss and roughly shake the mercenary.

“Fine criminals down under,” Wade murmurs in his sleep and slowly opens his eyes.

“I know you’re in love with Wolverine and you love dreaming about his balls, but we gotta go,” you persist and shake his shoulders.

“Why?” he grumbles.

“Metal dick and moody teen are ok their way,” you report and Deadpool jumps to his feet. Colossus has been nagging the two of you even more to join the X-Men since the whole Francis incident.

“In that case we gotta get the fuck out of dodge!” Deadpool swears and starts pulling his suit on. He finally pulls his mask on and starts looking for the weapons.

“Already packed!” you sing song and he lets out a disturbingly sexual groan.

“That’s why I keep you around.”

“And because I keep your sorry ass from getting beheaded,” you counter and snatch up the hello kitty weapons bag.

“Solid point,” he agrees.

Deadpool and you have been partners for a long time and you’re both utterly comfortable around each other. He lets you see him without his mask and you let him see your scars.

“Let me guess we’ll call a taxi?” you conclude as you exit the motel.

“Of fucking course! I got two high fives burning a hole in my pocket!” You burst out laughing and shake your head.

At least things are never boring.

Spiderman’s(?) Abs

Request: Hi! I really love your stories! Could you please do a fic where reader is partially deaf so she can read peoples lips to help her understand people, then she accidentally reads Peters lips and he’s talking about her?

A/N: Wow i’m sorry I’m such a slow writer, jeez. Sorry for being slow at this. I also hope this is what you were looking for. I’m sorry I was too lazy to do research on being partially deaf.

Part 2

You were Michelle’s best friend, or only friend, as she called you. You were good friends with Peter and Ned as well. You were in marching band with Peter, well, before he quit. But you were also on the Decathlon team with them.

You didn’t find yourself seeing Peter and Ned outside of school very often anymore. Not since Peter got his internship with Tony Stark.

You had been partially deaf since you were younger. This had always been an extreme struggle for you because of how much you love music. You could still hear some things. You could hear the chatter in the cafeteria at lunch, but you couldn’t really make out anything anyone was saying. In band you could still feel the beat, which really helped.

Although, over the years, you’ve somewhat mastered reading people’s lips. It was how you would take notes in class, understand what your friends were saying, and essentially everything else.

Most of the time you would sit at a lunch table with Michelle, at the table next to Peter and Ned. It was hard for you to pay attention to an entire conversation. Everyone was always nice about it, especially Peter.

When you sat down for lunch with Peter, Michelle, and Ned, they were already deep in conversation.

“Hey Y/N,” Peter smiled.

“Hi Peter,” you said

You smiled at Ned and Michelle too.

Michelle had her head stuck in a book, so you tried to pay attention to what Peter and Ned were talking about.

“Are you going to tell her?” Ned asked Peter

“Tell who what?” You asked, inserting yourself into the conversation

“Oh it’s nothing,” you read off Peter’s lips.

“Please, Parker. I know you well enough to know when you’re lying,”

“I think you should tell Y/N,” Ned said

“I also think you should tell Y/N” you said

Peter turned his head to the side and whispered something to Ned.

“Come on Peter, that’s not fair at all,”

Ned shrugged and continued to listen to Peter speak. Eventually Peter turned around to face you once again.

“Sorry, Y/N. That was on a need to know basis,”

“Not fair at all, Peter,”

After lunch you headed to your chemistry class with Peter and Ned. You sat a few benches in front of them. Every once and a while you would turn around and see the two talking.

You attempted to read their lips to see what they were talking about. You were still curious as to what Peter wouldn’t tell you at lunch.

You stared at Ned and Peter for a while, but you were only able to make out a few words here or there. For a moment you thought you saw Peter say your name, but he turned to look at you so you immediately looked away.

You were sure that they were probably talking about lunch. What else would they be talking about?

When class was over, you tried to catch up with Peter to walk with him to your next class,

“So are you ever going to tell me this secret of yours?” You asked Peter

You turned to him to read his response

“Which secret?” He teased

“The one you and Ned were talking about at lunch, and last period. I saw you say my name, Peter. I know something’s up,”

“Don’t worry about it, Y/N,” Peter said as you walked into your physics classroom.

It was now really bugging you why Peter wouldn’t tell you what was going on. But you really had no way to talk to Peter in this class, he sat too far away.

You pulled out your phone and sent him a message

Y/N: Do you not trust me or something?

Peter: Of course I trust you!

Y/N: then what’s going on with you

Peter: Well my “secret” is something I want to tell you but I’m just not ready to.

Y/N:  it can’t be that bad

Peter: No, but i’m kinda worried about how you will react

Y/N: What if I promised I would react in an appropriate fashion

Peter: I dunno

Y/N: Please, Peter. Its not like you’re Spiderman or anything right?

Y/N: Cause if you were I’d have to kick your ass, you know that right

Peter: I don’t even know what to say to that

Y/N: Oh my god. Are you Spiderman?

Y/N: I mean that would explain your abs and oh damn

Peter: When have you seen me shirtless…

Y/N: Me? WHo? I dont know what you’re talking about.

Y/N: Fine, so you’re not Spiderman but that still doesn’t explain the secret you’re keeping from me or your abs

Peter: I’m still so curious why you know I have abs

Y/N: Don’t ignore my question

Peter: You’re never going to let this go are you

Y/N: Of course not. You may as well just tell me.

Peter: Fine, i’ll telll you after school today in person.

Y/N: Looovveeee you Parker

Peter: Yeah, yeah

You smiled and put your phone back in your pocket. You were excited to know what Peter didn’t want you to know.

After school, you met Peter at his locker.

“So are you finally going to tell me?” You asked

Peter turned to you, “Let’s go somewhere where there are less people,”

You nodded and followed Peter into the empty music room.

“THis better be a juicy secret, Parker. I’m missing band for this,”

Peter took in a deep breath “LookY/N-ireallylikeyouandwanttodateyou” he said quickly

“Peter, I think you’re forgetting that I can’t exactly completely hear you, and when you talk like that I can’t read your lips either,”

Peter stared at you for a second before you spoke again, “Enunciate, for the love of god,”

Before Peter could speak you interrupted him again “You are Spiderman, aren’t you. I just don’t understand how you could get those abs unless you were Spiderman. Sure you do sit ups in gym, but that does not explain it,”

“Y/N? Are you done?” Peter asked

“You’re right. You couldn’t be Spiderman,”

“I could so be Spiderman,” Peter got defensive

“Eh,” you shrugged

“Look, that’s not what I wanted to tell you,”

“So spill,”

Peter Licked his lips, “Y/N, I really like you,”

“Well, I like you too Parker, but I don’t under-OH”

“Yeah. I like you as more than a friend,”

“Oh. Well then I guess I should probably tell you that I like you are more that a friend too,”

“You do?”

“Yeah, and your abs aren’t even the reason why. I mean, they’re part of the reason, but only a little part,” you teased

“Jeez, Y/N, what is it with you and abs?”

You shrugged and look a few steps closer to Peter.

“So, if I like you, and you like me, and you were to ask me on a date sometime, and we went on more than one date, would that mean that sometime, eventually, I’d get to see those lovely abs of yours?”

Peter laughed, “Y/N, would you like to go on a date with me?”

“Yes,” you smiled.

Peter stepped forward and placed a hand on your face, and another on your hips. He slowly leaned down and pressed his lips on yours.

You leaned forwards and pressed your chest against his, slowly moving your hands under his shirt.

Peter laughed into your kiss.

“Sorry Parker, I couldn’t help myself. You’re just really pretty,”

“You’re really pretty too, Y/N,”

“So wait, that was your secret? That you have a crush on me?”

“Yes, that was my secret,”

“I think a better secret would have been if you were Spiderman,”

A/N: Thank you to @stilinski-jpeg for proofreading this. I am sorry for uploading this a day late, my weekend has been incredibly busy. I hope this part is worth the wait. I love you guys. Thank you for being kind and understanding.

Mitch Rapp, the man I have given myself to both physically and emotionally, is a trained killer was the only thing running through my mind all of last night. There was no amount of counting sheep in the world that would be able to make me stop thinking about the imminent danger inside of my own home and fall asleep. My brain pounded painfully inside of my head as the tears continued to roll down my cheeks. I had already grown tired of crying at this point, but my eyes still did anyway. Whatever energy I had was drained from my body and it took all the effort I had to pull my numb self out of bed and into my bathroom. I closed the door behind me and all of the events from last night came crashing down as I stared at it.

“Well, Rosalie.” He sighed. “You’re a queen and I’m an assassin.”

can i prompt touch starved tony who loves any and all physical contact he has? someone puts a hand on his shoulder? amazing! someone lens into his side at movie night? the best! someone actually hugs him? omg! the avengers start to notice and perhaps do something about it?

Tony is a puppy. He soaks up affection like a sponge. (I threw in some Bucky because I wanted sleepy, helpless Tony.) Look out for under the cut!

You can find this story on my Ao3 here.

Natasha noticed first. She had a leg up on everyone though, having been sent to spy on him. She’d noticed when Pepper would reach out to casually touch him—a pat on the shoulder, playing with his hair, sliding her foot up his calf—and Tony would look ecstatic. At least, as ecstatic as an emotionally constipated person could look. At first she’d thought it was flirting, and Tony was happy to finally have it reciprocated.

But then Jim Rhodes had stopped by and swept Tony up into a hug that brought his feet off the ground, and Tony had made a happy little noise that had… done something to her heart. While Rhodes was visiting, it seemed like they were always touching, whether it was an arm over Tony’s shoulders or Tony pressing his feet against Rhodes’s thigh.

Happy was touchy-feely with Tony, too. Even after boxing matches, when they were both bruised and sometimes bloody but always smiling, they’d lean their shoulders together, or Happy would be escorting Tony somewhere and keep a hand on his elbow. Tony didn’t even fuss, even though usually he would bitch about not needing anyone’s protection.

Requested! I love this idea!
I’ve seen a few anons ask a few other pages about this and was like, I seriously wanna write that. Now that I have been asked I couldn’t be more excited. I love these requests, SEND MORE!

He’s been grumpy lately.

Late nights at the studio, early mornings at the gym, constantly working with no breaks at all, and he hasn’t been able to see you at all. That was the worst part for him, he could handle late nights and early mornings. Not seeing you was what was making him grumpy.

You’re on your lovely (notice the sarcasm) time of the month. So you have a migraine, cramps and you are just irritable. Him not being around much lately isn’t helping your mood either.

So when he makes a snide comment about nothing really you lose it. It turns into a screaming match between the two of you and you can feel the anger radiating off the both of you.

It’s just tense in the apartment, you could cut the tension with a knife.

“I’m done arguing with you Shawn.” You huff as you start to walk away from him.

“Where are you going?” He asks, still seething.

“To our room, don’t follow me!” You shout at him.

“Fuck!” He grumbles, kicking the couch.

You stomp up the stairs to your bedroom and sit on the sofa in the corner of the room. You are pretty heated but you just need to sit an cool down, the both of you do.

You grab your headphones and plug them into your phone as you start your slow song playlist, hoping that will mellow out your mood. You close your eyes and try to relax and let your attitude fade.

About ten songs in, ‘bout 20 minutes after your fight, you have to leave the bedroom. It’s just too fucking cold in there. So you walk out to the living room and slump on the couch opposite Shawn. He looks up from his phone, his headphones in as well, and watches you.

You go back to closing your eyes, but his stare is bugging you. You still don’t want to talk to him so you text him instead.

Stop staring at me

He looks back at his phone and then starts typing angrily.

You look hot as fuck

You can only read it with the tension that held your last conversation. So you respond back that way.

Thank you

He huffs as he messages back/

You’re welcome.

You want to smile, even in the midst of a fight he still says you look hot. But then you remember the point of the fight and are mad again.

You sit there and rub your goosebumps on your arms. You look over at the couch and notice that he has the throw blanket over his legs.

You fucker!

It’s so fucking cold in the house, and you are already in sweats and a long sleeve shirt. The only other option you have is to start another argument by stealing his blanket or just go sit with him.

He keeps looking up at you periodically and then goes back to watching something on his phone. You roll your eyes and groan, this music isn’t mellowing you out at all.

Fucking asshole.

You stood up and walked over to him, he looked up and watched you as you stood above him. You picked up the blanket and slid in next to him on the couch. He stared down at you as you tucked yourself into his side, him wrapping an arm around you. You sigh at the new found warmth and pull an earbud out of your ear. He does the same and you both just stare at each other.

“I’m sorry.” He says first. You sigh and lean into his chest.

“I’m sorry too, I shouldn’t have been such a bitch.” You say looking back up to him.

“Hey, whoa.” He cuts you off. “You were not and are not a bitch, I was the one being an asshole and I’m sorry for that. I’ve just been really tired lately and I haven’t been around and I was mad at the fact that I only have like today with you for a while.” He says looking away.

“We only have one day together, and you wanna spend it fighting?” You giggle.

“No, I don’t know. I was just,”

“Grumpy, you were grumpy.” You say smiling at him. “I was too.”

“Yeah.” He sighs.

“I’m sorry and I love you.” You say as he starts to play with your hair.

“I love you too.” He smiles softly and leans down and connects your lips. He was soft and sweet.

“What are you watching?” You ask as he pulls away.

“Greys, wanna watch?” He asks handing you the unused ear bud. You put it in your ear and take yours out.

You both sit there until food is needed. You just sit in his arms, cuddling each other close. He just holds you, really close, to let him know that you are there. You are there with him and aren’t just going to disappear.

He smiles to himself when you fall asleep on his shoulder. He opens his messages and texts Andrew back.

Hey man thanks for the idea, she got cold and came to me to keep her warm. I’m gonna have to keep the whole ‘turn the ac down’ in my back pocket. Worked like a charm.

He smirks and clicks send. Nuzzling his face into her hair, falling asleep with her.

You stood at the river’s edge and stared out across the black water. Your eyes caught in a daze wondering what your life was like if you had just been born like everyone else. What your life would be like if you had come from a womb instead of test tube. You had always dreamed of crossing the other side, to see what life was like outside of the city you were placed in. But as you thumbed the folded piece of paper in your pocket you knew that you would never get the chance.

You slipped the paper from the confines of your pocket and re-read it for the 55th time. Your first donation was scheduled a week from tomorrow. You had to report to the hospital in 5 days for preparations and blood work to make sure that your perfectly created body was still perfect.

Jungkook’s smile flashed before your eyes and a lump caught in your throat making it hard to hold back the sobs that were trying to escape your lips. He was waiting for you back at the hospital. It was after all, the eve of his second donation. Even though you had been through this process almost a hundred times before, it still made your whole body shake with nerves.

And now it was your turn.

You looked at the paper in your hand and over to the black water lapping at your feet. You adjusted your feet against the chain link fence, the only barrier between you and the unknown, and leaned forward. You watched as the paper floated on the surface of the water but didn’t sink. You gripped one hand on the railing and the other reached forward.

The silver bracelet on your wrist suddenly came alive as your hand hit the floating paper. The cold water stung your fingertips as the alarm from your wrist echoed through the night. You pulled back and planted your feet back on the earth beneath you. But the beeping didn’t stop.

It wasn’t long before the sound of tires pulled up behind you. You didn’t turn around as their footsteps approached, you being the target. One of them cleared their throat and you finally turned around to the face the men that had come to collect you. “It’s time to go, Y/N. Jungkook is going to be worried about you” the man told you.

You cocked your head to the side and scoffed, “So the rumors are true, watchers do exist”

@lightningflamedragonaf : “ A one shot where midoriya/todoroki walks into his dorm and catches uraraka/momo trying on his hero costume. “

Thanks for the request! Enjoy this short, fun fic :)

In which Uraraka and Yaoyorozu gets caught

“Are you sure Uraraka-san?”

“Yes I’m sure! Come on, Vice Prez, have some fun!”

“But isn’t that bad?”

Uraraka stood there, leaning back on her heels with her arms crossed. She was clearly unimpressed.

“Uh, no, it’s their fault for leaving it out in the open like that,” The Uravity heroine jabbed her fingers at the outfits in front of her, lying lifeless and crumpled on the head rest of the lounge chair. Said outfits being Todoroki and Midoriya’s hero costume. Despite looking as if it went under a typhoon and seemingly whipped back out, it was pristine. As expected of UA’s laundry delivery system.

Yaoyorozu bit her lower lip. I mean, no one was around right? Her eyes instinctively did a quick scan. Nope. Zero. None.  Just her, Uraraka, and the clothes.

“Okay, Uraraka-san, “ The creation heroine glanced over at her friend and back to the subject at hand for the third time, “let’s do it.”

~~~
Were they supposed to change in the lobby or should they take it upstairs to their rooms? Yaoyorozu already thought of 50 different possibilities within the time Uraraka took to pull off her tee shirt. The former did an audible gulp. If any of her friends came into the lobby at this very moment, she was sure she’d have a stroke.
The bubbly brunette, now fully ready to charge into Midoriya’s green costume, grinned widely and slipped her legs into it.
Yaoyorozu followed suit, hands shaking slightly. Todoroki’s outfit was way heavier than it looked and now that she had gotten a good look at it, that metal thing looked like a backpack. She coughed out a short laugh but quickly composed herself.
“What’s so funny, Yaoyorozu-san?”
The black-haired girl turned around just as she unzipped the item in hand.
“Wow, you look so adorable!” Yaoyorozu gasped. Uraraka looked too small for the costume and given her height, she looked as though she was engulfed in a giant green marshmellow monster. She even flipped over the hoodie, causing her to look even cuter, like an innocent bunny. Yaoyorozu reached over to grab the floppy rabbit-like ears that adorned the girl’s head. Yes, she had to take a picture of this!
Though, the creation heroine felt a smirk tug at her lips, she had to finish wearing hers first of course.
A short moment later and with the last yank of the zipper, Yaoyorozu was done with her part. The girls exchanged glances and within a heartbeat, a joy beyond words stirred somewhere deep within them and bouts of giggles flourished.
“Yaoyorozu-san,” Uraraka’s voice was tainted with mischief, “The zipper on your boobs is going to burst open.”
“Wh-what?!” The girl tilted her head down and instinctively placed her right palm on it, “No, I think it’ll be fine….sort of.” She paused and saw Uraraka hold her midriff in laughter, “Should I take it off in case I break his costume?!”
“No, you look great in it, Yaoyorozu,“ a deep voice called out.
The two girls whipped their heads around so fast Uraraka had to place her hand on her neck to make sure she didn’t dislocate something.
How did the two not notice their footsteps?!
Midoriya, face red with something hopefully not related to the flu, stood beside Todoroki, who was holding a mug of black coffee from Family Mart.
“Uraraka-san,” Midoriya began, “What… are you doing in my suit?”
Wow, it’s shocking that he hasn’t died yet. It’s quite obvious that the Uravity heroine was making his heart hammer like no other. The green-haired boy walked over, admiring. Uraraka responded with a grin and also with embarrassment tinting her cheeks.
“Deku-kun, I’m sorry,” Uraraka pulled the hoodie down, sounding quite defeated, “It’s my fault, I convinced Yaoyorozu-san to try on your costumes.” Her eyes darted over to Todoroki who was now inches apart from the Vice President.
Midoriya nodded, albeit a bit too fervently, “Apologies accepted. Don’t worry about it, you look…” He could see the anticipation written all over Uraraka’s expression, “You look so cute.”
The girl did her signature move: the widened eyes and heavy breathing. Midoriya could melt right then and there.
Yaoyorozu’s lips formed a thin line. Those two had it easy, she thought, at least they didn’t have to deal with this guy.
She was starting to feel the heat get to her, no pun intended, as Todoroki walked closer, placing his coffee down at a nearby stool. Yaoyorozu could never read him. His face and his tone of voice. Everything was shrouded in mystery. Todoroki never let slip his intentions and motives which sometimes made Yaoyorozu more irritated than her mother would have liked.
“Todoroki-san, please accept my humblest apology,” her fingers wrapped around the zipper and she heaved it downwards, until she realized that she wore nothing but a black sports bra underneath. Nevermind.
The boy in front of her looked deadpan as always, and Yaoyorozu’s brows knitted together in frustration.
“I’d much rather you chastise me,” she spoke. At least she could keep her dignity. Maybe.
Todoroki suddenly gloved his hand into his pocket and pulled out his phone.
“Wait, before you take it off in your room,” he had to make sure he emphasized the word ‘room’, “Could I get a picture?”
“WHAT?!”
Uraraka and Midoriya did a double take. It’s not every day you hear a Yaoyorozu shout like a madman.
“Todoroki-san, you want my picture?” The girl could feel her lungs failing her, “But, this is so shameful! As the Vice President of the class…how dare I-“
Todoroki cut her off, “Don’t worry, now look here and smile.”
Click. Flash.
Yaoyorozu swore her soul just escaped her.
“But-“
Another click. Another flash.
Todoroki scrutinized his screen and squinted.
“Okay, great,” his voice was gentle and with a swift motion, his phone disappeared into the depths of his pocket yet again.
“May I ask, what is Todoroki-san’s intention with my picture?” the girl swivelled a little in her position, hands sweating from nervousness. Whatever he had in mind, it better not involve uploading it onto UA’s Facebook page.
The fire and ice hero made a smirk. Such is Todoroki, even a small smirk could send the girl to the moon. She shook her head slightly to keep herself grounded.
“Well why don’t you take a look,” He fished out his phone again and unlocked it, pushing it well onto her nose almost.
Yaoyorozu took a step back in horror. Oh no. Her picture was now his mobile wallpaper.
“That’s what you get for using my costume without permission,” The boy teased, “If you want, I can send you the pics.”
She didn’t even know that he could make jokes.
“Uraraka-san, could I get a picture with you as well?” Midoriya spoke up, fingers twiddling.
Yaoyorozu, frozen in her position, turned to watch as the other two made a few quick selfies after Uraraka’s instant nod of approval.
“I-I think I’ll go change,” the Creation heroine’s feeble comment trailed off in tone.
Todoroki took a sip of his coffee, “Do you need help? Sometimes the thermal regulator can get really heavy.”
Ah, another joke from Mr.Jokester over here.
Yaoyorozu turned to give him a childish scowl before trotting her way to the elevator, vanishing from his sight.
As the lift made a close, she leaned back onto the railings and covered herself in her palms.
The girl sighed. Lesson learned. Todoroki can poke fun at you if he wanted to. Now, if only she could come up with something to get back at him too.
           I refold the note, noticing how the paper has already settled into well-known creases since this morning.  It’s not the first anonymous note I’ve gotten over the past week, but it’s the first time the writer has made a move beyond waxing poetic.
           The Watford halls are sickening today, even to me.  I understand the appeal of decorating for Christmas, but Valentine’s Day?  It just seems a little patronizing to adorn the walls in that many paper hearts, whether the hearts can magically float around people’s heads or not.  And it’s not that I’m a cynic, but Valentine’s Day this year was set to be a difficult one for me, since I no longer have Agatha to dote upon.
           But as I slip the little creased note back into my pocket and make for Room 172, the paper hearts seem less mocking and my own beating heart feels just a bit lighter.
           When I reach the door I falter, doubts rushing to my head.  What if there’s no one there?  And what if there is?  Then what?
           But I turn the knob and shove open the door.
           And immediately I see who’s waiting and I hate the thrill that bolts through me, and I wish that I had turned back.
           Baz’s face goes red when he sees me and I wonder briefly if I’ve seen him this angry before, so enraged that he turns colour.
           “What,” he seethes, “are you doing here?”
           “What am I doing here?” I spit back, my heart sinking and racing at once.  “What are you doing here?”
           “None of your business,” he growls, sitting on one of the desks and pointedly looking anywhere but at me.
           Everything in me is boiling.  I’m angry and I’m disappointed at once, but I puff up my pride and stalk over to another desk and sit down to wait.  Maybe the fates will be on my side for once and the mystery writer will reveal themselves yet.
           Although, would that be the fates with me or against me?  Because everything right now is looking like Baz wrote the note, and sitting here in the empty classroom full of paper hearts with him just a few desks away, it’s getting harder to ignore the buzzing under my skin and harder to ignore the fact that he is the common denominator.
           The clock ticks away like a drumbeat and I stare at the door, hoping, praying for something to happen.
           “Why are you here?”
           I throw a glance over at Baz, who has turned his head so that he can see me without looking at me.  “If you must know,” I reply sharply, “I’m waiting for someone.”
           “Really?”
           “You think I’m lying?”
           “I think you’re pathetic.”
           I have to squeeze my eyes shut and count to ten like Penny told me before I can breathe evenly again.  “What’s your excuse, Basil?” I grit through my teeth. “Why do you have to be here?  Has no one invited you across the threshold?” It’s a lame dig, but I know it will be effective, whether he shows it or not.  If there’s anything I’ve learned from being his enemy it’s that vampire jokes are a no-no.
           “I told you, it’s none of your business.”
           “Can’t you take your business elsewhere, then?”
           “No.”
           “Arse.”
           “Prat.”
           When I turn to throw another insult at him, the sun through the window catches the side of his face and turns his eyes to silver… and the insult dies in my throat.
           Beautiful.
           I try to stomp on the thought.  No.
           But it’s too late.
           It’s there.  It’s taken root.
           And the longer I look at him the more it flowers.
           Another thought bubbles up to the surface almost tentatively.  Are you sure it wasn’t him?
           As much as I know I should try to extinguish that notion along with the previous, I let it linger.  If I think back on it, I don’t think I ever have seen him angry enough to turn red.
           So maybe he’s not angry.
           Maybe it’s something else.
           When he meets my eye, I’m still staring at him, and his gaze darts away again, but his cheeks.
           They go pink, and there’s no anger in his eyes.  Only uncertainty.
           His silver eyes.
           And all at once, I decide to change everything.
Baz
“Alright, Baz,” comes Simon’s soft voice, “you can drop the act.”
           I turn to look at him again, and it’s like looking at the sun because I can feel his image scorching onto my retinas.  Meeting Simon Snow’s gaze is something that can only be done in doses, for me at least, I don’t know why.
           Well, I know why, but I can’t logically explain it.
           “Act?” I repeat dumbly.
           He slides off the desk and takes a slow step in my direction, and even that is enough to set my heart hammering.  “Yes,” he says, “act.”
           “I don’t know what -”
           “I think you do,” he interrupts me, “I think you know exactly what I’m talking about.” He pauses for a breath, like he’s second-guessing himself, but then he meets my eyes again.  “I think you wrote the notes.”
           My brain screeches to a halt and nothing makes sense.  “Notes,” I reply, and I hate myself because the boy I’m head-over-heels for is actually not at my throat and I sound like a parrot.
           He seems to get a burst of confidence.  “It’s okay, Baz,” he goes on, still slowly advancing, “I don’t mind, but you could have just said something.”
           I have nowhere to go.  I want to leap up from my spot and run, but I can’t.  Even in all this, my pride wins.  I’m on a desk in the middle of an empty classroom, and I’m cornered.  “Said something,” I stammer, “about what?”
           He shrugs, right in front of me now.  “Anything from any of the notes, which were unbelievably mushy, by the way. I didn’t think you had it in you.”
           “Hang on,” I stop him, unable to keep from shrinking back.  “You’ve been getting notes?”
           “All week,” he grins, “though I didn’t realize it was you until I got here.  I have to say, that last one was weak poetry. I mean, ‘roses are red, violets are blue’?”
           Something in my brain clicks and I swear I hear a ding.  “‘Meet me in Room 172’,” I finish with a sinking feeling.
           His face lights up like all the stars in the sky are in his eyes.  “I knew it was you,” he murmurs, and – Crowley – his gaze flickers to my mouth, no more than a foot away.
           And I want it.  I want to keep quiet and let him close the distance.  Hell, I want to do it myself.
           But I reach into my pocket and pull out the scrap of paper from inside.  “Then I hate to tell you this, Snow,” I say quietly, my heart breaking, “but I didn’t do it.”
           He looks away from my eyes for the first time and his brow scrunches up when he sees the note in my hand.  He takes it from me and unfolds it, his eyes scanning over the words again and again, the same little three-line poem.  I watch as he checks his pockets, finding an identical note in his jeans, and the penny drops.
           “It wasn’t you,” he says, almost to himself, and his face falls.
           “I’ve been getting anonymous notes all week, too,” I confess.  “It’s a trick on both of us.”
           His hands are shaking.  “Why would anyone do this?” he asks quietly, his face reddening, and I can’t tell whether it’s with embarrassment or anger or sadness, or all of the above.
           “I don’t know,” I stand at last and saunter over to lean against the wall, grateful for some air that isn’t charged with proximity.  “People are dicks, I guess.”
           “And you swear that you had nothing to do with it?”  He won’t look at me at all now.
           “I swear.”
           He squeezes his eyes shut and I half expect tears to appear on his cheeks, but he just nods once and turns to march towards the door.
           An image flashes through my brain, of his eyes boring into mine, of how they flickered down to my flustered mouth.
           And suddenly I decide that I’ve had enough of this.
           “Simon.”
           He stops dead in his tracks.  “What?” he says without looking at me.
           “I’m sorry.”
           “What for?  You said you didn’t do anything.”  His voice sounds sore, like he is fighting tears after all.
           “I’m sorry that you thought it was me,” I tell him, “because…” I trail off, unsure how to finish.
           “Because what?”
           I wish he would look at me.  “I hate to ask, but did you mean any of that?”
           “About not minding if it was you?”  He sighs like he’s given up.  “Yes. I meant all of it.”
           He meant all of it.  From the words to the glance at my lips.  All of it.
           He shoots me a red-faced glare at my silence.  “Happy?”
           I stare back, and I can feel a big stupid grin bubbling up.  “Yes, actually.”
           That catches him off-guard.  “Why?”
           “Because I wouldn’t mind if it was you, either,” I blurt out before I can lose my nerve.
           His eyebrows finally un-furrow and he meets my eyes properly.  I know that I’m turning pink again, but as he starts to step towards me, I hold his gaze.
           When he’s right in front of me again, close enough that I have to look down to see him, he whispers “You mean…”
           One of the paper hearts littering the room suddenly jumps up off a desk, and I don’t know if they’ve been charmed to target fools in love or not, but it starts to dance around my head.
           Simon chuckles at the heart.  “Is that a yes?”
           I allow myself a tempered version of the big stupid grin.  “You could say that.”
           The heart swoops in front of my eyes, and I lazily wave it away.
           Simon stands on tiptoe and plucks the heart from the air by my eyes, and we’re no further than a breath apart.
           And then he leans in the rest of the way.
Agatha
Penny squeezes my hand hard when they finally fall together, and I squeeze back.  Stealthily she snaps a silent photo on her phone, and I make a mental note to get her to send it to me later.  The fruits of our labours.
           We step back from the open door of Room 172 as quietly as we can, but I doubt we need to worry.  Simon and Baz are both far too occupied to notice us.
           Penny keeps hold of my hand as we make a break for it, waiting until we’re around several corners before speaking.
           “Damn,” she grins at me, “we are good.”
           All I can do is grin back, still holding her hand as we stroll down the hallway, kicking up clouds of red paper hearts.
Bently: You know, this is nice. Just us, walking around together, getting to spend some quality time outdoors like we used to.
Levi: Yeah. It’s so refreshing… Oh! Oh! Remember when we first moved to Windenburg and we went on that hike up to the old watermill?
Bently: Oh my god, the goat hike. How could I forget? We had finally reached the top of the trail at the base of the watermill and we saw a mother goat and her kid.
Levi: Haha yeah! I had heard the goats around those parts were pretty used to humans, so I tried walking right over to them to see how close I could get.
Bently: I remember telling you to keep your head down and walk slowly. I was so worried that she was going to headbutt you. Remember when you tried to feed her the dog biscuit you had in your pocket?
Levi: She didn’t want it, but I figured if it was good enough for Griff, it might be good enough for goats!
Bently: I think that’s one of my favorite memories from back home..
Levi: Yeah.. me too.
(a special thank you to @kismet-sims for letting me test out the goats)
Picture Perfect
“I don’t need a date, I’m perfectly fine attending on my own.” Betty Cooper sighed, wiggling her freshly painted nude fingernails and smiling at her stylist in the mirror as she curled and prodded her hair to perfection.
“Of course you don’t Neeeed a date but the fact of the matter is that you have one, what you choose to do with him is entirely up to you.” Cheryl Blossom, Betty’s agent and childhood friend tapped on her cellphone, not even bothering to look up at the annoyed Oscar nominated actress.
Betty Cooper was one of the most talked about up and coming actresses of the year, after having won two emmys for her role on the Hit Tv Show “Break Away Baby” she was currently nominated for best supporting actress starring in the Romantic Drama “Never Let Me Die”. Betty had played the role of the broken hearted second choice who fell in love with her first lovers best friend, reviews had idolized her, she was a shoe in for the Oscar, everyone knew it.
“I understand that it’s good to get people talking but I don’t want to be known as the girl dating the actor.” The beautiful blonde chewed nervously on her lip, Cheryl glanced up, swatting her friends arm
“You’re going to ruin your lipstick. It’s just a date, Jughead Jones is a hit with the teen girls, they love the moody mysterious bad boy thing that he has going for him. You’re much more popular with the older audience and of course with teen boys. That Victoria’s Secret fashion show you guest walked kind of cemented your place as every boys wet dream. But none the less we want everyone to love you. It’s one Red Carpet and then you never have to see his devishly handsome face again.” Cheryl moved to grab Betty’s custom Valentino, gold beaded gown from the rack.
“Is he really good looking?” The young actress quirked a curious brow, stepping out of her robe as Cheryl smirked and helped her step into the dress.
“You know I don’t swing that way but girl, he is something fine for sure.”
Betty giggled as three men zipped her into the stunning gown and she stepped into her heels. She sure hoped this Jughead Jones was tall because she defiantly had her legs on display tonight.
“We have very different tastes Cheryl.” Betty turned away from the mirror and made her way to the door, her entire crew following close behind.
“You’re about to find out, he’s waiting downstairs. Alright gang, let’s go win us an Oscar.” Cheryl lifted her arms over head and the entire room erupted in cheers and “goodlucks!”
Betty blushed Scarlet as she said her Thankyou’s and made her way into the elevator.
“They’re all gonna be so disappointed if I don’t win this.” She sighed, fingers nails tapping on her palms. As the elevator doors opened.
Cheryl flung her long red hair behind her shoulders and rolled her eyes.
“You are gonna win this. Stop doubting yourself. You look beautiful, you’ve worked so hard and you’re going to knock them all dead. Now get out there say hi to James Dean.”
Betty took a deep breath as she stood by the closed doors of her hotel building, the paparazzi and reporters were surrounding the streets, screaming fans were littering the crosswalks spilling out and holding up traffic.
Just another day in the life of Betty Cooper.
Walking outside with her head held high, She smiled, perfectly straight, shiny white teeth on full display. She loved her fans, loved that the paparazzi loved her but still it could be overwhelming. Today was one of those days, but then she saw him.
Jughead Jones was leaning against the slick black limousine, perfectly tailored Armani suit fitting just right, his jet black waves were styled purposely messy and his stormy grey eyes were staring wide at her, his mouth set in a crooked dazed smile as she approached him. He was gorgeous and the way he was looking at her was like something out of a movie.
“Hello Jughead Jones.” She smiled, standing before him with shaky hands.
He couldn’t tear his gaze away from her, eyes scanning her entire body from the gold sequined dress to the slit showing off her long, tan legs. He stared at her smooth 1950s starlet curls, one side of her long neck completely exposed, eventually he brought his eyes to her face, her ruby red painted lips and sparkling green eyes. After what felt like an hour but was more likely five seconds of his eyes locked on hers He seemed to snap out of it, a lazy smile grazing his lips.
“Hi, I’m guessing your Betty Cooper. I’m your date, Jughead Jones.”
Betty smiled softly
“I know I already said Hello, I think I used your name actually.” She giggled.
Jughead shook his head quickly, a blush forming on his cheeks
“Yeah, no i mean uh.. ya know.” His hand flew to the back of his neck to rub nervously.
“We should probably get going!” Betty shouted over the screaming fans “I think people are getting a little impatient.” She motioned towards the crowds rushing towards them.
Jughead was quick to lead her into the limousine, his hand burning the small of her back with his touch. When they were finally seated, squished together Jughead turned to Betty leaning over her to lock her window
“Just in case” he mumbled before turning to face her. “Congrats on the Oscar by the way, in case I forget to tell you.” He smiled, Betty’s heart nearly stopped when she caught a peek of his dimples.
“I haven’t won it yet. Lord knows I might not, I’m up against so much talent, Jennifer Lawrence is in my category, I’m kind of the low guy on the totem pole.” She giggled nervously, fingernails digging into the soft flesh of her palms.
It didn’t take longer than three minutes for Jughead to notice, his own hands shooting out to grip hers.
“Nervous tick?” He questioned, massaging the sore marks on her hands.
“How did you..?” Betty started before she was cut off by Jughead digging in his pockets and pulling out a handful of tooth picks
“I prefer to smoke cigarettes when I’m Nervous but I found out that they don’t typically let you smoke them on Red Carpets. Let’s just say I won’t be attending next years Kids Choice Awards.” He rolled his eyes playfully.
Betty snorted, smacking a hand to her mouth as she laughed at the insane boy beside her.
Jugheads grin grew even wider at her laugh
“Anyway, i chew these bad boys to keep me from sticking a cigarette between my lips. They even wrote the habit into my character “Cole”.
Betty nodded understandingly taking the toothpick he held out to her and rolling it between her palms.
“I heard you pretty much swept the Teen Choice Awards this year. I wish that I got the chance to watch atleast a little of your show before… ya know.” She motioned between the two of them.
Jughead laughed out loud, swinging an arm over her the back of the seat.
“Before we were forced into co coupling awards ceremony dating. I couldn’t even believe it when my publicist said you were gonna be my date. I mean you said it yourself. I’m Teen Choice Awards and you’re… well you’re The Oscars.”
Betty turned her body closer towards his
“Are you crazy? Everywhere I turn I see your name on some new magazine, "Jughead Jones- Heart Throb of the summer.” “Jughead Jones- top five Disney actors.” You’re kind of a big deal Jones.“ She playfully nudged him, a bump in the road nearly sending her flying into his lap, his hands clutching her waist.
"Whoa there.” He whispered, foreheads brushing, almost in slow motion both of the teen actors leaned forward.
Suddenly the window was being rolled down and Cheryl poked her head through.
“Alright you two! Who’s ready to walk the carpet as the worlds most adorable new couple?” Without another world Cheryl rolled the dividing window back up and Betty slowly pulled away, gnawing on her lip and staring nervously out the window.
She turned back around when Jughead laced his fingers through hers.
“We got this.” He smiled reassuringly, fingers squeezing hers.
Taking a deep breath Betty smiled weakly
“Ready to enter the belly of the beast?” She questioned
“You got it Betts.” He smiled back.
Hiya! I was wondering if you have any recommendations on any Johnlock Fanfics. I know I'll probably get murdered for saying this but I personally am not a big fan of fics that include smut. Plus I'm relatively new to this fandom so I'm not really sure where to start. Anyways I really enjoy your blog and you're really cool! Stay awesome my friend
It’s so hard to find non-explicit fics because I rarely read them. But here are some I could remember. Absolutely zero smut. I hope you enjoy. :D
  • A Quiet Murmuration by cathedral_carver : Just pay me back with one thousand kisses. (Teeth rotting fluff. You may die from fluff. One of my fav fics)
  • Let You Kiss Me (So Sweet and So Soft) by out_there The first time Sherlock kisses him, John keeps his eyes open, and so does Sherlock, and mostly, he wonders what Sherlock could possibly be up to. There’ll be some logic to this. Some ridiculous experiment about body warmth or respiratory rates or testing a new way of picking pockets. Sherlock does the unimaginable for bizarre reasons, but behind it, there’s always logic and curiosity. Sometimes, it just takes him a while to explain it to John. (Sweet af)
  • the lingering taste of orange juice by darcylindbergh Sherlock felt the familiar heat surge in his abdomen again at the touch: hope strung taut between head and heart as in all the quiet moments between them, when Sherlock sometimes got the clues all mixed up and thought maybe John felt something too.For once, Sherlock is the idiot.
  • and stand there at the edge of my affection by coloredink  “You’ve written love letters,” Sherlock asserted. (Sherlock asks for John’ assistance to write a love letter)
  • Duvet (green) by Mazarin221b :  Sherlock recalibrates and restructures his mind palace so it looks like 221b. What he chooses to put in John’s room is a bit of a surprise, and a revelation. (Just read this )
  • Alone On the Water by Mad_Lori :  Sherlock Holmes never expected to live a long life, but he never imagined that it would end like this. (keep some fluffy fics handy before reading this one because after reading this your life will never be the same. Pure angst. Read the tags)
  • To Sleep Perchance to Smother Your Flatmate by Linpatootie : Sherlock wants to conduct a sleep study of sorts. John contemplates smothering him with a pillow. (1st in  4 part series “Two Coffees One Black One with Sugar Please” universe)
  • The Love Song of Two Idiots by  SkipandDi (ladyflowdi) : The eighth time Sherlock proposed to John, it was on a Thursday afternoon in the middle of a Tesco. And like the seven times before, he got rejected.
  • Last Call at the Homesick Pub  by Chryse : A fic taking place in the time of Sherlock’s “death” as he wanders around the world.Bittersweet.
  • For a thousand more by mysleepyhead (Shameless self promo) : This is the ending they deserve. The life they should have. The life we want for them.
  • April Sea  by ladydirewolf1 :  After Mary leaves John, Sherlock takes John to the place he spent his childhood summers.
Anchor Stone
I created this spell to help deal with intrusive thoughts and sensory overload, but I’m pretty sure that it can be used for almost anything. It’s great because it only takes a few minutes to cast and I can use it with essentially no spoons once it’s set up.
Essentially, the goal is to create a stone that serves as an anchor to the physical world and as a connection to the strength of the earth. You can bond the stone to yourself or to a kintype/facet/alter/etc.
Step 1: find a stone. It can be any stone, but if you prefer some type of crystal, that’s okay. The only things that matter are that it can be carried with you without breaking and that it feels good in your hand. If you feel like charging it, go ahead (maybe moonlight for calm?) but you definitely don’t have to.
Here are my two anchor stones (the larger one is bonded to my main self and the smaller one is for a kintype)
Step 2: Bonding. This is the incantation I used. Feel free to modify it or add parts to give your anchor stone a specific purpose.
Hold the stone in your hand until it begins to reach the temperature of your skin. Focus on the sensations of holding it, especially the weight in your hand. If you’re bonding it to a kintype, shift to the kintype beforehand. If you’re bonding it to a facet or alter, have them front or co-front while the spell is being done.
My name is [name] and this stone is me
I claim it as my anchor
It will be my connection to the earth from whence I came
May it give me strength
May it help me find strength within myself
Let us be one
You only have to do this once. When you do, the stone is bound to you. You can use it whenever you need.
Step 3: Use. Hold the stone in your hand. Focus on its strength and the strength of the earth and either say or think “lend me your strength”. When you’re feeling better, say or think “thank you” and put your stone down. Don’t worry if you forget, it’s mostly a formality.
I normally carry my main anchor stone in my pocket so it’s easily accessible. This has the added benefit of keeping it close to my skin so it can adjust to my energies over time. If this doesn’t work for you, do whatever feels right. This is a spell based entirely on instinct, so it should be even more subjective than most magic.
Good luck and happy witching!
Lovely submission, thank you!!!
A/N: Yess! Love McAvoy! - this was originally part of the Christmas thing i was doing but I missed the posting day, then it was going to be posted New Years Eve but I hadn’t finished it so… here it is! Hope you like it!
It was New Year’s Eve; once again you were planning to spend it at home, alone. That was the way you liked it, your friends didn’t seem to understand even though you had told them countless times. You just couldn’t work out why one of them was stood at your door, waiting for you to get ready to go out.
“Come on Y/N!” Your best friend pleaded, hands on your shoulders and a desperate look in their eyes. “Please? I’ll be fun, I promise!”
You stood there for a moment, running through your options. As far as you could tell, you had two. The first, go out, meet up with the rest of your friends and bring in the New Year surrounded by the people you love. The second would be to say no thanks and go back to the film you were trying to watch. “Fine, give me ten!” you reluctantly gave in, allowing your friend to enter while you went to get changed out of your pyjamas.
“Yes!” your friend cheered, “I knew I could get you to cave.”
You shook your head as you walked away; they always knew how to wrap you around their finger.
Once you were ready, the two of you called for a taxi and headed off to the bar to meet up with the rest of your friends. You had barely even walked through the door when another one of your friends had come bouncing up to you and put a drink in your hand.
“Y/N! I’m so glad you decided to come!” She shouted. The music was so loud it was almost impossible to hear anything.
“Yeah, well I figured it was time for a change in tradition” you responded at a similar volume.
Hours passed, you were being bought drinks left right and centre. You hadn’t even been up to the bar yet and you’d had too many drinks to count. “I’m getting the next round in, what do you want?” your best friend asked.
“No, no you’re not, I haven’t been up to the bar once! I’m going!” you insisted.
“If you say so!” they replied before listing everyone’s order.
You went up to the bar and put in your order. You were waiting for the bartender to pour the last few drinks when you spotted him. As far as you were aware, he hadn’t seen you but you continued to stare at him. He was just so…. handsome.
“Here’s your drinks” the bartender interrupted your thought.
“Great thanks, how much do I owe you?” you replied reaching into your bag for your purse.
“Nothing, that guy paid for them” he pointed to the handsome man opposite you who looked up, smiling and winked at you. You smiled back and nodded a thank you, picking up the tray of drinks.
You walked back to your friends carefully, trying not to spill anything.
“Okay guys” you shouted as you approached them, “here we go!” One by one, your friends collected their drinks, leaving just yours on the tray. You picked it up with your free hand and placed the tray down on the nearest table. “Hey, I’m just going to go get some fresh air” you said into the ear of the friend closest to you, gesturing to the door.
“You want some company?” they asked.
“No, no I’m good thanks. I won’t be long” you smiled and headed for the door.
You stood outside, thinking about everything that had happened that year and how in just a matter of hours it would all be behind you. The New Year was fast approaching.
“Fancy seeing you out here” said an unfamiliar voice.
“Sorry, are you talking to me?!” you questioned as you span around. “Oh, it’s you!” you smiled at the man who had paid for your drinks.
“Sorry, is it a bit weird that I followed you out here?” he asked.
“Well it wasn’t, but it is now” you laughed.
“I’m James, by the way” he smiled.
“Well James, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Y/N”
“Believe me, the pleasure is all mine”
You began to shiver. Unsure of whether it was due to his immense charm or the cold December wind, you ignored it.
“Are you cold?” he asked. “Why didn’t you bring a coat, surely by now you know how cold it is in December” he said taking off his jacket. “Here, take mine” he draped his jacket over your shoulders.
“Thank you” you smiled, “you truly are my hero!” you added with a hint of sarcasm.
He laughed. “You’re most welcome”
“Oh, also I never thanked you properly for the drinks, you really didn’t need to do that”
“How else was I going to get your attention?” he asked, “Besides, now you have to see me again to return the favour” he had a Cheshire Cat like grin on his face.
“James, are you flirting with me?” you asked in disbelief.
“I believe I am indeed flirting with you” he responded.
“Okay fine, I’ll tell you what, if you’re sober enough to put your number in my phone, I will agree to go out with you and buy you that drink” you smiled. He gestured for you to hand over your phone, you unlocked it and did so.
He began typing in the number, “there” he announced triumphantly, “done!”
“How do I know that’s your number?” you asked. Before you could finish your sentence completely, he had pressed dial. Moments later, his phone began to ring. He took it out of his pocket to show you and indeed, your number was on his screen. “Well I guess that settles it then” you smiled.
“Why don’t you let me call you instead” he proposed.
“Okay” you whispered with a smile. You took your phone back from him and looked at the time. “Shit, I’d better get back to my friends” you began to take his jacket off your shoulders.
“Keep it on” he stopped you, placing a hand on your shoulder. “I’ll come and find you at midnight; you can give it me back then.”
You dropped your head slightly; you could feel yourself going red. You lifted your head back up and nodded in agreement.
Walking away from him, you couldn’t help but smile. You made your way back over to your friends.
“Hey, where’ve you been!” your best friend asked, “and who’s jacket is that?!”
“You’ll find out” you smiled.
Sure enough Midnight rolled around; everyone was clinking glasses to the New Year. You began looking around the room for any sign of James, but you couldn’t see him anywhere. Before you could come to the conclusion that he wasn’t going to show up, you felt a pair of hands on your shoulders from behind.
“Can I have my jacket back please” he chuckled.
“I was beginning to think you had left” you responded.
“What, without seeing you again, I don’t think so” he smiled. “Happy New Year, Y/N” he said in a low voice, placing a kiss on your cheek.
“Happy New Year, James.”
