This is a direct sequel to Unexpected Guest. This is the final official chapter. I may go back and write the cave chapter from Len’s POV, I’m not sure yet, still tossing it around. If people are interested?
Thanks to @mccoymostly for planting the little plot bunny in my head and being my idea bouncer and beta throughout this whole fic.
5,089 word(s) of some good ol fluff and what we all came here for, smut. I also apologize for the length. I went back to edit it and somehow ended up making it longer. I don’t know what happened.
“Meet me in my quarters tonight at 7. I’ve cleared you for your next shift. It’s just me and you tonight, darlin.”
You had found the note on your desk, with another small rose, when you first walked in. You picked it up and immediately recognized the tight scrawl of Leonard’s writing. You smiled to yourself as you kept pulling it out throughout the day to read it.
My prompt was: “What I really need right now is for you to tell me to get my shit together.”
Pairing: Bones x reader
Word Count: 1,463 (shortish and sweet)
Summary: When you found out Leonard was leaving to go travel around space, you weren’t exactly thrilled, but you took it in stride. But now that he is leaving next week, the tension starts to build and you really would rather not see him go. Will you let your guts spill even knowing that he is leaving in a week?
A/N: So I totally forgot about this challenge until yesterday (sorry Jules) and so I was hunting for ideas throughout the day. Now, I preface this with the fact that I am currently obsessed with the In The Heights soundtrack (Lin-Manuel Miranda’s first musical) and have been watching videos of it on youtube. My current favourite right now is “Champagne” and that’s where the idea for this fic comes from. If you click on the link below you can see that I followed the general outline of the song, and even used some of the same lines because I thought it was that good. But I didn’t think Leonard was much of a champagne drinker so that’s why this one is called “Whiskey”.
If you’re confused why I used the line: “How do I get this black shit off?” - watch the video, you’ll see why.
ALSO: I don’t know if half of the dialogue makes sense so excuse any mistakes or weird exchanges. I’m really tired.
The paper bag in your hand crinkled as you made your way across the clinic, spotting Leonard across the busy room in his scrubs and white lab coat. He looked up as you approached, giving you a small smile as he finished up talking with a nurse and turned to you.
“Y/N? What brings you to my neck of the woods? I thought hospitals freaked you out.”
You tipped your head, “They do, but I bought us a little present to share tonight for getting through our exams and thought I’d surprise you with a ride home.”
He hissed through his teeth before pursing his lips, “I’m sorry, Y/N, I still have patients to see, it’s going to be at least a couple of hours…”
“You’re usually done your day by now…” You looked at your watch.
“I know, but it’s been hell in here today, I just have to finish up a few things.”
“Can’t you get someone else to do it? You’ve worked nearly every day this week. You deserve a break.” You chastised, but your heart dropped when he shook his head.
“No, it’s fine. I understand.” You suddenly felt the urge to cry as you stared into his oh-so-familiar hazel eyes and you started to back away, “I’ll see you back at my place later? We can celebrate then.”
“Y/N, wait. I didn’t mean to upset you.” He took a couple steps to follow you in your retreat.
“Uncle Raj, will
you help me get something for Daddy and Papa?” Cassie asked her
uncle while he was over for dinner with her parents. Both Leonard
and Sheldon were in the kitchen cleaning up, so Cassie decided to use
the moment alone with Raj to ask for the favor.
You don’t know HOW happy I was to get this prompt! You made my day :D (I may have gone overboard a little. Word Count 1215
McKirk 88. “Don’t panic but I think we might have accidentally gotten married…”
Jim Kirk was fearless.
Well, not exactly
fearless. He was afraid of failure, for one, but he never let that stop him.
But now, here on a first
contact, Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise, the youngest Starfleet
captain in the entire history of
Starfleet, was quite possibly just a little bit terrified.
Normally, Bones didn’t faze
him. Normally, Jim loved the grumpy,
sarcastic man. Loved the little rants or tirades he went on, all of it hiding a
chewy soft interior. Leonard kept him grounded when he contemplated doing the
most unorthodox things.
Not that it ever stopped
him, but still. It helped Jim keep things in perspective.
Spock did that too, to a
lesser extent. But Bones was different. And so, okay, that brought Jim to the
second thing he was afraid of.
He never wanted lose Leonard.
And there were many ways that could happen. So many dangers just being out in
space brought about – not to mention being on the edges of space, encountering
unknown phenomena and having little to no support from the fleet should they
need it – as Bones had
ranted about since the very first time they’d met. But that Jim could
deal with. He knew how to work with that.
Honestly, Jim was more
afraid of losing the doctor by chasing him away. Of seeing a look of disappointment
as had so often on his own mother’s face. Not the momentary, ‘How the hell did
you think that was gonna work,’ look, but the ‘I want nothing to do with you,’
Currently, Leonard was
scowling at his tricorder as he ran it over some food one of the locals had
given him and Jim was feeling all twisted up and nervous as he approached him.
Bones was going to kill
He’d just about managed
to reach Leonard when Spock appeared at his side as if by magic. Sighing in
relief at putting off the inevitable blow out, Jim turned to him and focused on
Thinking about it, it
would probably be best to wait till they were back on-board ship to let Bones
know what had happened. There’d be less chance of a diplomatic incident that
Jim had nearly forgotten his resolution hours later when the
away team stepped off the transporter pad, till Leonard grabbed his elbow and
hustled him out of the room and down the corridor.
“Bones – what are you – ?” Jim tried to ask. But Leonard
shushed him and continued to guide him through the halls of the ship till they’d
gotten to the privacy of the officers’ deck. Bypassing Jim’s quarters and
beelining for his own, Leonard nearly shoved Jim inside.
With a sinking feeling, Jim realized that Bones must already
