5-year-old Lentenor, full brother of Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro, has officially been retired from racing, as of October 4

Born just a few months after the death of his older brother, Lentenor (along with his brothers Nicanor and Morgano) was closely watched by fans of Barbaro. In his career, he has won four races from seventeen starts, including this year’s Kitten’s Joy Stakes at Colonial Downs. He retires with just under $185,000 in earnings

With the recent death of sire Dynaformer and the retirements of both Lentenor and Nicanor, fans of this family will have to hang their hopes on three-year-old Morgano and La Ville Rouge's 2011 colt, as yet unnamed.
