hey so I bet many of you have been within a situation where you need a quick cleansing to refresh your mind, body, and spirit but don’t have either the time or fancy ingredients to whip up a high class potion. Well here’s a simple way to construct a “kitchen witch” potion for cleaning up any negative and dark energy on yourself within minutes.
~rainwater (spring water works too. not. purified)
~lemon (whether it be juice from a bottle or actual lemon slices) *organic is always nice
~salt or quartz crystals
~sage (for protection against negativity that could be added back onto you after the potion) *optional
pour your rainwater into a glass cup (plastic is okay but glass amplifies it a lot better), slide in yo lemon, sprinkle in your salt or drop in your crystals (wash the crystals before inserting to not only clean them, but spiritually cleanse them), add in your sage *still optional, and bathe it under the sunlight for a few seconds before sipping.
Certain people like to cast circles, gather the power of intention, and add in their own personal light and energy into the potion which in turn does advance the potion and make it work better for the specific individual but it’s totally up to you if you want to take it to that extent or not. Good luck! ~Jo
I made this up so feel free to scroll past if you want
½ red onion
1/3 can of peas
4 baby carrots
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
A sprinkle of lemon juice
½ container of chicken stock and equal parts water
½ bouillon cube
3 tbsp butter
1 tablespoon milk
½ cup chopped chives
2/3 cup flour (add more or less depending on how thick you want it)
And (to taste): basil (I use fresh), seasoning salt, paprika, cayenne pepper, oregano, parsley.
It’s easy. Just chop up veggies/ingredients (besides the chives) and mix it all together and cook it on the stove at medium heat for 20-25 minutes covered.
Then strain out veggies, and keep them separate (I kept them as a snack for later) and mix in the chives with the sauce.
Then eat it or save it, my recipe makes about two good servings of pasta sauce if not three.
A little something I like to cook up when there’s fresh fish in the house. It’s a nice balance of savoury and sweet, with a little citrus thrown in. Super easy to make!
1 lb fresh salmon filets
¼ cup honey (approximate)
¼ cup white cooking wine with lemon
2 tbsp lemon juice
A sprinkling of salt & pepper
Few pinches of rosemary
Coat a ceramic baking dish with nonstick spray. Lay the salmon filets skin-side down so that they are flat. Sprinkle them with salt and pepper, then drizzle the honey evenly over top.
Add the cooking wine and lemon juice to the dish, and toss in a few sprigs of rosemary. Dried or fresh, either will do, but you don’t need much.
Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil. Bake at 350F (176C) for 35 minutes. Test the internal temperature and make sure it is at about 140F (60C), and that the pieces flake easily when cut with a fork.
Serving Suggestions: Pair with rice, summer vegetables, fresh salads, or pasta. The cooking liquid makes a nice sauce.
Serves 2-4 depending on how hungry your guests are.
Ahh, okay, Lily Evans is sort of my Elia Martell of the Harry Potter books, basically.
How I feel about this character: Essentially, she isn’t a character. She’s reduced to a symbolic emblem of motherhood and JKR’s ideal of a ~good~ woman. Personally, I don’t think she’s articulated for herself in the entirety of the series; I know people like to point at the Prince’s Tale, but A) it’s still all about Snape; it’s Snape’s memories of Lily, Lily’s articulated through Snape, and Lily’s sole function is to be a morality meter for Snape, and B) it’s still all rather bland? Like, it’s JKR’s standard tropes of ~kindness~ and ~bravery~ and ~loyalty~, and I just wanted more? Like, we see the pedestal Harry placed James on broken in OOTP - we never see that done with Lily. I want to know the real girl, the flawed kid that was thrown into a fairytale and it turned out to be a nightmare, who had to fight for her right to live in a world during a war that was all about her own blood. That twists people, and I want to know what that did to Lily.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: James, if done correctly? Like, I think there’s the potential there for all this discussion of class differences and privilege and maybe an analogy with privilege in our world, and if it was done like that, I’d so dig it. I do not dig it as ~Lily changed James with her incredibly maturity and kindness~
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Her interactions with Snape, prior to their fallout, and their friendship growing more strained throughout the years could be interesting, in my opinion. However, what I really want is Lily’s relationships with her female friends. I always found it really irritating how James’s friends got to play a role and articulate James for his own sake, and Lily’s friends got like, one line of page time. I think we learned Mary MacDonald’s name and that was about it? Also - Lily and Petunia’s relationship is like so vital for the backstory of the series.
My unpopular opinion about this character: She’s not a character, but she deserves her own fucking story. She wasn’t all sunshine and roses; she was a hard warrior. (Also, Karen Gillan doesn’t really look like how I picture Lily. Rose Leslie looks like Lily to me, or Sophie Turner, in a couple of years.)
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: EVERYTHING. that we knew more than the colour of her eyes. that we knew about the prejudices she faced. that we knew her friends and her relationship with her parents and PETUNIA. I wanted her relationship with Tuney, goddammit. that she got to be more than a beautiful symbol and had an effect on Harry’s life through her own agency.
Last night I dreamt we were having a Loras/Renly convention.
And everyone on tumblr showed up, and there were, like, 1000 ppl.
And Lemon was supposed to give some kind of lecture or workshop, so we were all waiting.
Then Miley Cyrus came in and was about to go to the stage, and me and Sarah were like “dude, wtf, you don’t even go here!”, and then she told us she was Lemon, so she was gonna give the workshop. We were about to let her up the stage when the real Lemon showed up like “wtf is going on?”
and then sarah and I told Miley we were sorry, but she really had to go. And she started crying, so we let her sit in the audience next to us and she was so happy and all talking about how she loved Loras and Renly but she had no one to talk to
and then Lemon asked her to shut up and the workshop started and I woke up.
So whenever Lemon posts anything now, I’ll just assume it’s Miley Cyrus behind the screen.
UGH, HIS STORY IS SO SAD AND IT GIVES ME THE CHILLS. I was not really invested in him to be honest, but your flawless meta and Finn Fucking Jones made a big impression on me. I am still not too invested in him, but I care for him all the same.
2. Favourite Scene:
Even though it’s horrifying, scary and sad, how he cut down people over Renly’s demise. I also love his interactions with Jaime in A Feast for Crows a lot.
3. OTP for Them (Romantic or Otherwise):
4. My Endgame of Choice:
I hope he does recover and saves Margaery from all the accusations as a Kingsguard, but it’s highly unlikely. I just want him to be alive and happy though, and that he moves on and maybe find love in someone else as hard as it is.
5. My Response to Fandom’s Attitude Towards Them:
I have no idea about the fandom’s attitude towards him in general.
