Derived from the Greek word “leiron,” the lily was so revered by the Greeks that they believed it sprouted from the milk of Hera, the queen of the gods. As the flowers most often associated with funerals, lilies symbolize restored innocence after death. Due to its flammable petals, the Lava Lily must be handled by the stem and should not be stored near easily combustible items.
