Extroverted Thinking (Te): Leigh Anne is a “doer,” a successful working mom, business owner (interior decorator), and cheerleader coach, who complains at inefficiency wherever she sees it and, if she could, would “whip” any government office into shape in twenty-four hours. She is a planner, who deals with the facts of each situation (Michael needs a home … a driver’s license … a legal guardian… to get his grades up…). She likes to be in charge of a situation and where others falter, she steps in to handle things (including “coaching” from the sidelines).
Introverted Sensing (Si): Faith, family, and football. These are the things she cares about most. Leigh Anne frequently makes comparisons in her life – people to objects and things, her own former experiences. A sense of tradition is heavy in her, so much so that she is delighted when Michael wants to adopt the family tradition of attending a particular college. She is attentive to details, both in gathering information and giving specific instructions to others.
Extroverted Intuition (Ne): She reminds her husband that one of the reasons he loves her is that she can juggle a lot of balls in the air. Leigh Anne is constantly looking for new information and ideas; she is good at reading between the lines and building connections that others cannot see (like, since Michael tested so high in “protective instincts,” knowing how to get his head into a football game – his teammates become his family). She is broad-minded.
Introverted Feeling (Fi): “You don’t have to support my decisions, or like them,” she tells her girl friends, “but you do have to respect them.” Her emotions rarely come to the surface, and when they do – she doesn’t want others to see them. Leigh Anne doesn’t care what people think of her, and doesn’t need their support in deciding what is right and wrong. She doesn’t mind keeping her kids in line or warning them off bad behavior, and feels strongly that Michael needs to make his own decisions. She will support him in whatever he chooses to do.
Notes: Everyone in this family is an SJ of some kind; Michael is an ISTJ (very, very introverted, but certainly Si and Fi, and he has to learn people skills); her son is an ESTJ like she is. Her husband and daughter are unclear, but my guess is he’s an ESFJ and her daughter is probably ISFJ; not enough character development for her type to come out clearly.
