“We’ve always been very direct with each other, you know? There was just such an honesty, and it’s a really beautiful little scene that happens here between the two of them.” - Oscar Isaac on Carrie Fisher
Can reylo shippers please explain to me how Rey and Kylos relationship is a thing? Kylo literally tortured Rey in the last film, and has murdered his father and countless others with his own hands. I’ve seen some compare Kylo to Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, but i feel like that’s comparing apples and oranges.
Now while I wouldn’t necessarily mind seeing a redemption arc, I don’t know if I can see Rey being romantically involved with Kylo. I genuinely want to understand where this ship is coming from and if their are examples of this kind of relationship happening in other works?
“So, where are we headed?” Leia asked, after Han had set the
coordinates for the next leg of their journey. Given the Imperial presence on
Bespin and the blockade they’d just narrowly evaded, they couldn’t risk going
directly to the Alliance’s rendezvous point right now.
Han made a face. “You ain’t gonna like it,” he said, “but
it’s a good place to hide out and make sure the Imps didn’t leave any presents
behind for us.” Despite Chewie’s close guarding of the ship during the repairs,
it was still possible that they were being tracked.
Leia chuckled. “Let me guess. Is there a bottle of Corellian
wine waiting for us in a cave somewhere?”
The real question is will Kylo & Leia reunite in The Last Jedi?! I’m not saying it has to be a part of Kylo’s redemption arc. But it should happen. I know there was talk of Leia confronting Kylo about Han’s death but I want more? It would be nice to delve deeper into their relationship.
The Skywalker Twins also better reunite in this movie I swear to God. They didn’t go through all that they did to not be reunited.
And this is just a foolish hope but it would be pretty great if Padme Amidala Skywalker were mentioned at all in The Last Jedi. She was not Queen of Naboo, Senator of Naboo, badass fighter, incredible woman and mother of the twins that would change the galaxy just to be practically erased from fucking history. She was and is important. Just like Anakin. But Anakin/Darth Vader is a huge part of Kylo’s story. Padme has yet to be mentioned ANYWHERE.
It just frustrates me that women like Padme have been forgotten in the Star Wars universe.
