I don’t know that it’s ever come up on here -although, all things considered, I’m not sure why it hasn’t tbh- but Joe Thornton is the best passer in the NHL, not just of his generation, but also right now. I’m on mobile, so I can’t add any gifs or videos, but his numbers alone are amazing: 387g, 1007a, 1391pts in 1446 games played.
He is, hands down, the best passer playing in hockey rn. Yes, that includes Jagr, McDavid and Crosby. His passes are a thing of beauty. Every game you watch, there’s a moment or two of “did he really just do that???” where you cannot believe that Joe managed to sauce a pass through two d-men, a couple forwards, his own teammates and right onto Paveleski’s stick. Or Brent Burns. Or Logan Couture. Or Tomas Hertl. Or whoever the fuck he decided to bless with the tastiest dish of the game that night.
There’s no point to this post, only that I love watching Joe Thornton play hockey and I am *stoked* to be able to do it again this year.
