Early gameplay stills from the upcoming The Legend of Korravideo game.
The game takes place between Books 2 & 3, and is written by Tim Hedrick, who also wrote ATLA and Korra episodes such as City of Walls and Secrets, Sokka’s Master, Rebel Spirit, Beginnings Part 2, A New Spiritual Age and the Republic City Hustle miniseries.
The combat action game will be available on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Steam, as well as a turn-based strategy game for 3DS.
Legend of Korra creator Bryan Konietzko is saying that the move to digital is because of the sea change in industry and the popularity of people watching online. Because of the great ratings on digital viewership, they decided to move completely to digital. The show is not cancelled and is going strong! All 5 episodes are now online on nick.com and new episodes will arrive every week!
Recently Seychelle was a guest on a SourceFed Podcast. They talked about a bunch of stuff in the podcast, which you can watch here!
Some highlights are:
She doesn’t watch anime
She has “lately been getting back into blues music” which she got into in high school
She just finished filming an independent film called Sleight (official instagram here) that is about, in her words, “magic and drug dealing”
Seychelle plays a “little guitar, a little harmonica”, but “sings mostly”
She (jokingly, I’m assuming) likes to “creep on people all the time”
She loves costumes
She refers to her best costume as being Gandhi for Halloween. Pic here, gifs here, Seychelle’s twitter post here “I put a bald cap on and I had glasses and a mustache. And I went to Little India in Vancouver. And this Indian woman taught me how to tie my little diaper. I looked so legit. And I got so drunk. And Gandhi passed out next to the girl from Pulp Fiction with the thing in her chest.”
She’s “sometimes” a method actor
When asked if she likes Drake: “Who doesn’t like Drake?!”
She thinks Barack Obama would like her family
She has a recurring theme of people trying to kill her in her dreams
When Princess Yue is mentioned Seychelle says ‘we can let that one slide”
She hasn’t seen Guardians of the Galaxy or Frozen
She says that she doesn’t have a high standard for movies, and you can quote that
Her only public form of social media is her twitter, @seychellegab, though she has a tumblr with the same handle/url of seychellegab.
Korra talk (around 13:40 minutes in for audition talk, 32 minutes in for Comic Con and Yue talk and 40 minutes in for the proposal):
The only voice acting work Seychelle has done is The Legend of Korra
She was intimidated she hadn’t gotten the role because she was a voice actor, but because of “live-action acting” (I’m guessing she is referring to the film no one likes to mention)
She refers to P.J. Byrne (voice of Bolin) as “the nicest person you’ve ever met in your life” and “so funny, all the time”
Seychelle originally auditioned for Korra, and got called back for Asami
According to Seychelle “Asami was originally gonna be evil” and she remembers when she got the part, “Bryan and Mike were telling me ‘yeah, it’s like this evil girl’, and then later they were like ‘nah, we didn’t dig that. Like, she meshes with everyone real well, like a little bit as we got into the show.’”
Seychelle has been to San Diego Comic Con (for Legend of Korra) and WonderCon and MCM in London (for Falling Skies) and says she didn’t get recognized because, for LoK, it was a voice over thing.
People have been telling Seychelle on twitter to accept the proposal Janet Varney (Korra’s voice actress) did for a fan from Korra to Asami at a convention. See here
She says her voice isn’t that different from Asami’s voice
She talks about a Reddit book Janet got from a fan and mailed to her, Bryan and Mike from people who had written letters about Korrasami and the impact of it on their lives. She says going through the book was “very emotional”
She calls the last episode and korrasami “so beautiful” and “really, really a cool thing to experience”
