Single Leg Deadlift

Grab a pair of dumbbells and stand on your left foot. Lift your right foot behind you and bend your knee so your right lower leg is parallel to the floor.

Bend forward at your hips, and slowly lower your body as far as you can. Pause, then push your body back to the starting position. As you come up, think about using your glutes to push your hips forward instead of lifting from your back. Keep core engaged and chest up during the entire movement.

This is a Leg HIIT workout I did at the gym the other day. The original workout requires weights, but I did a modified version as well for those that might have trouble holding weights the entire time. 

For those not familiar with HIIT or Tabata, the concept is pretty simple. You do an exercise to your full intensity for a short amount of time - in this case, for 30 seconds. After the time is up, you rest of a certain amount of time - in our case, for 10 seconds. After the rest, you move on to the next exercise and repeat the work/rest routine until the last exercise is completed. Then you start from beginning again for the next round and continue until time is up. Here is an online HIIT timer if you do not have one on your phone.
